The rewatchables is brought to by the Ringer Podcast Network where you can find the big picture with Sean Finnissie. That's right. CR? Yeah.
Not only do you have the watch, but you're doing the beautiful pod on the Adam Friedland Show during World Cup. Caps, cool in TBP. Okay. We're running this.
This is running, I think, June 22nd. So hopefully, Team USA is up to, just trying to lock out, like down that one seed in the group. That's right.
Good check, is that what you think will happen?
“I think they will get through the group.”
Somehow. It's encouraging. A little prediction from CR. We are still doing from Hell month, and we've done really good from Hell Movies, but we want to do one bad one in domestic disturbances next.
It's the rewatchables presented by Fandle Predicts. You can predict the summer soccer showcase with Fandle Predicts from the opening game to the final whistle. Stay locked in. Sign up now for your $25 bonus on FandlePredicts.
Go to fandle.com/predicts to sign up. Offer by Fandle, prediction markets, I will see a registered future's commission merchant, team plus restrictions by [email protected]/predicts/bonus-offer-terms. All right. So we've done a single way female.
We've done a hand that rocks the cradle, like two icons, but what happens when from Hell goes wrong? What happens when everything goes sideways, when everything's in place, it's like a basketball team where it's like, "Oh, we spent all this money. We have these stars."
And then... And then... Next, wait, Howard. Then we go on to pick that stuff like yours. You're in the lottery.
You don't know what happened. And yet, it still ends up being rewatchables, and that is domestic disturbance, a movie that I implore both of you to watch again. I'm so relieved that this is how you're framing it. Because if you were going to come in and be like, "This has been one of my favorites
for years." I fire this up. It is very bad. But it is entertaining in an exciting way for a variety of reasons, but one of which is like, "It's got a bunch of guys where you're just like, "Why did this guy decide to do this
with me?" So let me ask you this. Do you think it's bad or do you think it's stupid?
“Because I think there's a little bit of distinction, and I think that it's weirdly”
not bad. Like, I think everybody's doing this thing. It's good. It's good. It's good.
But it's stupid. Well, it's just one of those movies where we're going to talk about this. You can just feel the several dozen minutes that have been carved out of it.
And so it just often feels incredible.
This feels incredible. Right. Craig Cameron is doing it all the time. This is the only movie where I'm like, "Yeah, I think you're going to get more." Yeah.
There's definitely references to things where you're like, "Did that happen?" Like, "What is going on?" It's awesome. It just leaves you asking a lot of questions. It's a good bad movie.
I think one of the reasons it's rewatchable for me, and I've watched this movie a bunch of times. Because it's 15 minutes long. Yeah. It's over 88 minutes.
It's credited. 79 minutes. It's amazing. Unbelievable. The decisions in the, and like trying to figure out, when did Vince Fawn realize this
wasn't going to be the one? Yeah. Travoltaic gives up about an hour. And Travoltaic is really trying for about an hour, and in the last half hours, like, fuck,
“how many more days is my plane is docked in the airport?”
There's just dumb characters. It has a lot of the frum house staples, but we're going to get to that. But the 2000s, this is when frum house starts to go sideways. We had this really good run that starts with fatal traction into the 80s. Basic instinct kicks in the air or that we're doing, where the good sun in the rocks to
create a single way, female. We've got breakdown. We've got the glory ears. And in 2000s, they kind of ran out of ideas, but they realized, "Let's keep doing this." And that's when you get domestic disturbance, you get changing lanes, with Sam Jackson and
Ben Affleck, the road rage from hell. Yeah, one hour photo with Robin Lambs, period, maybe, real killer from hell, though, or all.
Like, friendly photo guy, photo, photo guy, photo developer guy from hell to ...
from hell.
The best one of all is from this decade is dysterbia, which I actually think is pretty
good, and you could talk me into doing this somewhere from hell. Yeah. Great movie. It's a rear window remake. Yeah.
Yeah. Shia, like, right before, I mean, the wheels have been coming out for 20 years. He's a Serbian eagle. I, you know, he's a lion. Yeah.
It's all right. Transformers, obviously. Yeah. Perfect stranger, Halle Barry and Bruce Willis, just kind of, Raymond went really bad movement.
“You know, we're didn't honestly don't even know if I know that movie.”
You know where it didn't go from, though, to be. How many of these films are on to be any? I think everyone I mentioned is on to. Yeah. You're such a real one.
You're just like, we're on Netflix. I'm still going to go. There's Netflix caliber. And then we're down here with two. Yeah.
And two. Like, here. Here's a thumbnail with Halle Barry and Bruce Willis. Okay. So why did this happen?
I think is a good question to ask. There's one more I have though. Okay. Good. Make few terrorists.
2008. Same Jackson. Neighbor from hell. Doesn't like the interracial couple that move next door. It could be the last.
It could be the last from hell. And then Dark Knight comes along and cleans up hell, you know? That's right. That's right. But so you can kind of understand why these movies start to pop.
Right. You can be like, well, there's like the AIDS crisis and movies like single white female. Yeah. And this idea of like some foreign presence coming in and changing your life. Or you can say that there's like class anxiety and the yuppie moment and the eight or
late eighties that is kind of driving some of this. But then as it goes on, is it just that the ideas get squeezed out. And there's not any good ones. Like this is a stepfather from hell movie. That's.
By the way, we'd already done with the stepfather with Teria Quinn.
“That's what I was going to say is probably just redoing the same kind of themes that”
we've already seen in other movies. I think the reason they kept there's two reasons they kept going. I think it's fun as an audience member to watch people make dumb decisions. Where you're just like, how do you not realize? Why are you listening to your son?
Yeah. That's just fun as an audience member. And then the other thing is, I think people saw like what happened for a Michael Keaton with Pacific Heights and and like Glenn close in fiddle attraction. Like to zag the other way with a from hell character is like a good career.
First star. Yeah. So like you can see like Vince Vaughn thinking. Yeah. It's been five years since swingers.
I got to take couple swing maybe I'll play like the evil stepfather guy. This would be good for me. And then he probably realizes what 10 minutes and fuck. Yeah. But then you turn out to be Patrick Bergen and and sleeping with the enemy.
And then you're different from again. Yeah. That's the other issue with this is sometimes you if you're not a star. If you're star, I think you can move in and out of one of these rules.
And he was at this critical.
I don't know if you want to talk about Vaughn now. But let's do it. He's at a really, really critical juncture of his career where. Six years have gone by since the thing that made him a big star.
“And he clearly had ambitions to be a serious actor.”
That was what he wanted to do. He wanted to do dramas. He wanted to do thrillers. Look at every single movie he chooses. After having swingers swingers lost world Jurassic.
He's like the fifth guy in that clay pigeons. Psycho the sell domestic disturbance and made those are all thrillers. And then made with made is the like the fabric. Because reunion of Favro. But if you watch that movie, it's just as much a crime movie as it is.
A funny buddy. Yeah. And you can see like what he thought he was going to do. And then after this movie. And after this movie.
Well, what did he make in 2002? He's a dodgeball. Nothing. Oh. He does disturbance and made the in 01.
Nothing in 02. 03 is old school. And the light bulb goes on. Yeah. Oh, this is what I am.
I'm actually like comedy events on Star ski. It's comedy leading man. He's like nine in a row. Yeah. And then he goes back to the top.
I mean, he ends up being in the breakup and stuff like that where he's headlining huge movies. And oh, five when the breakups pretty flawed movie. But he's also dating Aniston post Brad Pitt. You know, like I said, he's an 8 plus lighter comedy show that he was like touring. Yeah.
Yeah. He was a 8 plus listener. Totally. I didn't quite know. In 01, it felt like his career was going to end soon.
Yeah. And it was like, man, I feel bad for double down trend. I don't know if this is going to happen for him. But he kind of figured out how to flip it and use that stick thing as like his comedy persona and then he was off.
It's really funny though, because there's something in the character of this.
Movie that reminds me a lot of Trent, where like Trent is always performing.
He's always doing his bit. He's always trying to pump up Mikey. He's always, you know, he's always got this like false energy. This bravado. And he's kind of doing that at the first half of this.
Yeah. Where he's trying to connect with. And he's having a catch with him when he's just like, hey, I want to build me some boats. Like he has it.
He's often talked about in relationship to comedies. How often he will sign up for a project and then the studio. Starts talking about how it needs to be PG13. And you know, he had grown up and he had to like all the movies that we love when we were growing up.
There was something a little bit illicit about them.
Yeah.
“And I think I can't remember if he was talking about the internship or whatever.”
But it was something where you can actually see the roots of that problem in this movie. Because there's an R rated kind of just more disturbing version of domestic disturbance. That actually could be kind of fucked up and interesting.
But they just shaved down the edges too much and they sand it down and they make it into a PG13 movie that never really bothers anybody.
You know, but it's like, you can see how screwed up his relationship with Danny could have been and how weird it is. And then being just like, it's a bad dream, you know. I have a lot of ideas for this later. I think that version of this. I just think PG13 is a death sentence.
Do we think that they shot them and cut them out? I do. There's an 111 minute version of this movie that doesn't exist basically. Yeah, they cut. There's a whole story behind it where I have it. It was supposed to be like end of 2001. 9/11 happens.
Paramount has to rush Zulander up because Ed Burns has sidewalks in New York. It's their big September movie. And they can't do it because it's New York. They move Zulander up. I saw Zulander in the theater in Boston.
Maybe two weeks after 9/11 and people just weren't ready for a company. It was a weird vibe. Yeah. Even the movies belong now. So they push this movie up to like October and they decided it needs to be shorter.
And they just chopped 22 minutes from it. Now, the counter would be, could this movie have had 22 more minutes. But then they did that and it did the PG13 thing. And you can see, like, there's a lot of times they're saying fuck, but they're changing it to don't fool with me, Chris. Yeah.
Who says don't fool with me? The weird thing is that he goes, you're a fucking liar, Danny. Yeah, they have a lot that you can find. No, they couldn't, yeah, yeah. When you, so you only know Vince von from the comedy Vince von.
Yeah. So when you see him like trying to think he, this was a career path for him. Is it like a music?
“Certainly amusing. I think when he's doing a lot of like, when he's playing baseball, he is kind of comedy Vince von in this movie.”
Like when he's like, I don't want to catch it up here. I don't want to catch it over here. I want to catch it down here. Yeah. But I actually think that I don't think in a vacuum. You did it exactly.
Was he so dirty? So you got to throw. I think in a vacuum Vince von's not bad in this movie as like a villain. Yeah. If this movie were made right, and there were 15 more minutes in it, I don't think he's bad.
He's not the problem in the psycho remake or clay pigeons or the cell. Like it's not that he's a bad actor.
It actually is just that he's not exploiting what he's so amazing at.
He, he's like aggro Chevy Chase. That's his persona. He's like fast talking smarter than everybody else in the room. Kind of a dickhead, but very lovable. That's his comic persona.
It's an amazing persona. In old school, that's some of the funniest shit you're ever going to see in a movie in the 2000s. But you can feel him like really trying to broaden his horizons to try to be a much more serious kind of performer. It's just not what he's best at. You can feel the acceptance in the late 2000s if him just being like, you know what this just makes more sense for him.
“He basically does that until true detective season two, right?”
And now he's kind of pivoted back where he's doing, you know, cell block 99, and, um, and dried across concrete, and he's trying to go back to the like heart edge thriller stuff that he really likes in his career, which I respect. Sure. But it wasn't going to make him a star. Yeah.
You can also prop your career up in different ways. So like he is big thing now is this show on Apple called Bad Monkey, which I personally don't love the show. But it is a perfect Vince Vaughn vehicle, because it's like Vince Vaughn walking around Florida. It's all the crimes, but making jokes. Right.
Yeah, usually the people hit as a comedian to have like seven eight years. And then they decide, I want to, I could be a dramatic actor too. Vince Vaughn like inverted it. Yeah. He had swingers and he's like, I, I take me seriously.
Mm-hmm. And then people were like, you're double down Trent. What's going on here? And then he flipped it the other way. So I don't know.
If you look at his O3 through 2010, him and Farrah are like the, they're, they're, they're at the head of all that shit with Apple town. They're in the most movies. They're like, they're making cameos and other people stuff. And I just, I don't think he wanted to accept it.
I think when you look at Vaughn and Farrah from swinger, and we talked about this, what we did were watchables. Thinking of like the potential of those guys in that movie. And then thinking of how their careers turned out.
It's actually kind of incredible.
Because even when, when they made bait in 2001, which I saw, was disappointing. Yeah. I liked those guys. I felt like I had to see it. But it felt like it was like kind of over. Not easing well with the amount of ditty going on in that film. Well, true, true.
But when you look at it now, like Farrah is one of the most successful directors who had less 20 years in bond and was one of the most successful comedy actors. Yeah.
It somehow worked out great for them.
It was such a weird thing with swingers. I wonder whether or not Vince Vaughn coming out of that movie was like the thing that people will love is me playing video games. You know, and being like, like, I'm going to make your guy bleed or whatever. Who's the big winner? Mikey wins!
He probably thought it would be some of the more dramatic beats or some of the more like classic movie star beats. If they if that movie got seen at all. But that's in the text of the movie. Like those guys are trying to be actors in Hollywood.
They're trying to be Paul Newman. Like that's the whole point of the movie. People they dreamed of being. But the stuff that is the most fun is when they're just hanging out being friends and almost feels like they're improvising those scenes
where they're at the diner or they're playing, you know, any gel. Like that stuff just felt like they're real personalities.
“And that's what people wanted from them.”
But if they had 100 tries at their career. Are they in the 99th percentile of how well it worked out? Yeah, it's crazy.
The other thing is he never figured out like there was like you talked about Agro Chibi Chase.
That actually would have worked really well for this movie. Like if he had been this like Wheeler dealer like charismatic guy and everybody in the town loved him. But like John Chiboltin, Danny, the little boy. Like they were the only ones that knew he was still a shit.
Yeah. But we didn't really see the charismatic side of him either in this. Only in like the baseball catch scene. And he gets that chamber of commerce. Yeah.
But for the most part he's kind of playing its straight and. And sinister. And it's a lot of shots of him. You're brushing your teeth and it's like. Oh, Dan.
Vince is in the bear. Where. Yeah. They use his height. They use some things about him that really work.
But yeah, like the things that work the best in this movie. Are the two scenes with him in Boshemi because. Yeah, that's that should have been it. It's a suggestion of a holder universe of a holder. Yeah, they seem so comfortable together.
Boshemi grounds this movie and makes it feel like it's part of like a larger world. And yeah, then the stuff with Terry Polo and the kid is just kind of like this. It feels like I'm looking at a picture that takes place in a frame. So that I buy the frame and it's a part of the story. Yeah, I wrote down this movie is trying to be evil stepfather movie.
It's basically an ABC after school special of like the first ad trying to keep his relationship with the sun.
It's a murder mystery to boy the crowd will. The boy the crowd will nobody believes me movie. It's a child of divorce movie. And it's a little bit of a police procedural with one of the worst. Investigations about time.
Yeah, we checked out the incinerator. Nothing there. Do you check his car? Yeah, confine anything. Like really he's stabbed to death.
Are there incinerators that incinerate bones? Like do we know that that exists? Yeah, there's a couple still in LA. Yeah. But it's like it's a brick works.
“Do they have why would you need to like an industrial?”
It's always on. The incinerators just cook in 24. Yeah, it's like a pizza. It's just on. I would love to get a picture of ricks.
Holdings. Because it's like, I just bought a hotel and I have a brick works. I can't just like laundering all this much. Chamber of Commerce is like, say no more. There's your word.
The unintentional comedy in this movie is adicotrol. Terry Polo is the mom. One of the, this is a staple in these movies that dumb way for the dumb mom, who just doesn't see all the signs and then there's like the. Oh, moment, which she has when she sees it.
It's fun training for her. Yeah. But we have that. We have all the times they try to do sinister events from like the door closes and he's behind it or he's in the mirror.
And then for me. Travolta in this movie. It's a 10 out of 10. He's pouring his soul into this movie. Yeah.
The first hour. He is working so hard. And he's really like a boy. He's really like a boy. He really is like a boy.
He's just like, man.
This guy's just like great first ad.
He's just a great role model. Yeah. What makes a wooden boat.
“Does the thing with care if he makes money on him?”
I actually think he's just like doing the exact wrong thing for the movie. The movie makes a lot more sense. If he's like kind of a cheesy alcoholic. Yeah, a bit better. And like a little more mad.
But he's having these conversations with his girlfriend. Yeah. He's just like, she will occurs. If only my boy would probably be happy. She's giving literally zero in those things.
The girlfriend. Yeah. It's like play. He's like when he was working out against a chair. (laughs)
I know the actress. But it's just like in John Travolta. And like the NPC of actresses. Yeah. It's tough.
They definitely save some money on that. Yeah. He's really gone for it. And he really just wants to have a good relationship with his son. One moment in this movie that crystallizes that is what he goes up to the house.
Because it's his day.
She's just like, yes, sorry.
He's not here. And he's like, okay. (laughs) He walks away. (laughs)
And like, what was the dramatic tension? (laughs) Zero. There's so many scenes like that.
“Where you're like, why did they think this was the best version of the scene?”
Like they go boating. Terapollo asks him. Yeah. He takes him. Maybe take him for the boating.
Yeah. I really want my son to like him. He's like, all right, I'll do it. They go boating. And the scene's like 40 seconds.
They say they couldn't have had any sort of character development, or some sort of them trying to feel each other out. Nothing. They just kind of bring the boat back. There's a very funny moment where Vaughn and Danny are, you know,
at the wheel to ship, the wheel to boat. And he's trying to explain starboard to him in all the lingo. And Vaughn's like, yeah, let's just stick with left and right. Like his general tone is just like, he's in wedding fractures, and domestic disturbance.
It's really fun. The baseball catch scene is probably my favorite scene in the movie. It's almost rewatchable. It's just a tort. But it needed like four more scenes like that.
I agree.
It's basically Danny doesn't get along with them.
The only reason we really can think of is because they had that baseball catch. Like, collection of things coming of age. Things they could have done together. Like Rick shows Danny had a drive. Rick gives Danny his first beer before.
Oh, yeah, it teaches about a smoke. It wouldn't have been a lot better. I mean, the movie is really weird because the kid who plays Danny is kind of like, like, like, like, a normal, but they're treating him like he's, like, the town hoodlum, you know?
What's his normal?
“He's, he's got a four less second thing that I think is cut out.”
It's like Danny's past lies. Yeah. Because the cop seems to fucking hate him. Yeah. Yeah.
What did he do to you? Yeah. He's like, this fucking kid did it again. I'm not wasting my time with you. Like, yeah, did he call in like a fake bomb threat?
Like, what happened? Yeah. He just seems like a mystery of his teenager and not evil. They're like, oh, my god, he threw a baseball throw a window. Like, what kid didn't do that?
Well, he does have a stow away finish. That's true. Which comes out.
Which finally manifests itself in the way through the movie.
So Travolta. This is one of the things that love about this movie is it's the end of on kind of thinking he could be this as an actor. It's the end of Travolta. This is really his.
Yeah. He's on a heater from Pulp Fiction 94 through 2000. Where he makes basically three to four movies a year that are major movies. Pulp, get shorty, broken arrow, Michael, phenomenon. She's so lovely, face off, mad city.
Primary colors, thin red line, general's daughter. Mm-hmm. And that's all in like five years.
“And then battlefield earth happens in 2000.”
This is the sort of backwash of battlefield earth. battlefield earth. battlefield earth. People are like this and fish before back battlefield to come out. Is that true?
No, I don't know of like technically, but it's like it would make sense that Swordfish and domestic disturbance were like the last two like this guy seems normal. Well, I didn't look at numbers after that, too. Okay. Okay.
The battlefield earth is like the, but that's the tipping. I would say general, it starts with general's daughter. Which is also not good. I would say general's daughter is an awful, awful movie. General's daughter.
It's like just like a ten minute rap scene. Yeah. No, it's fucking awful. Vile nasty. I hate that movie.
General's daughter. That's not a filter. Um, this movie Swordfish and basic is an all time bad run. And some of it is like he picked the wrong movie. Some of it is he's trying to like pivot his persona.
Literally movie to movie. Where he's like about a filter. It'll be more like, you know, the villainous figure. But that was a Scientology movie. Totally.
In this movie, you can almost feel him reacting like Chris is saying. He's like, I'll be a warm dad. I'll be I'll be the hero in this movie. But him being a hero actually makes the story not very dramatically interesting. Like very early on in the movie.
It's like, well, Vince Vaughn is clearly evil. As soon as Steve Buschemmi shows up, you're like, okay, well, Vince Vaughn is a criminal. And we're just waiting now to find out what happens. The movie doesn't really push you along. The sense of like, well, is it actually Trevolta who's like an alcoholic
and his son who's like kind of a degenerate teenager. I mean, what is it going to break up? Yeah. What happened in their marriage? Because he turned down champagne in that first when he's given the guy the boat in the beginning of the movie.
He's like, no, no, no. I want you champagne. I'm going to have a beer. And I was like, oh, it's because like, maybe he's only on beer. He's not allowed to have anything else.
But they never touch on it again.
And he seems like a lovely guy. So it's unclear why Terry Polo would divorce this like totally nice boat maker. And the girlfriend leaves him too. And she's like, yeah, I've had enough of this. It's like, why would he do?
He seems like a great guy. Yeah. He's just trying to make some wooded boats. Yeah. And he's pretty involved in his son who cares about his son.
Yeah. That's your issue. He still has like in the 2000s. He still does like one out of every five or six pops. Like it's be cool happens.
And then what's the other one? Yeah. He's good in taking a poem once or three. Yeah. I like that.
He became so parody a chef in 2000. I think you hit that zone as an actor where the general public's going.
What's going on with this guy?
And he's taking a lot of paycheck movies.
“Well, this is when Red Box movies also come in, right?”
Like it's. Yeah. I mean, he has. I wanted to ask you guys a question about him. But he was just a can when I was a can.
And because he had that crazy. Yeah. It's the directorial debut. Which is like a 62 minute movie about the first time he ever flew on a plane. Like, it's just a weird experience.
That was putting on Apple. Yeah. It's called one way. So everybody is like, this is true cinema. Is that like a bit?
It's a bit. Yeah. But he was like, he wore a bray to every single screening of the film. He's got a weird mustache coat to his situation. And everybody was like, why are you wearing this brain?
He's like, well, I looked back at photos of old directors. And they were all wearing brays. So I thought, I too will wear a bray and become a director. Like, he's an eccentric guy to see the way. So nice.
Yeah. He's a weird guy. Has there ever been an actor who's made more incredible culture changing movies. Who's also made more bottom of the barrel dog shit than John Tribulta. Like, he has the widest chasm from pulp fiction Saturday night fever, grease.
Like movies that change people's lives. Yeah.
“To whatever the last 15 years of his career has been, where he's in like stuff like”
a body which gets aroundly destroyed or dark vengeance, like a movie you never heard of and never seen that is a red book.
But now he's in the movies like my dad would mistakenly order our name as on. Yeah. Because it's like Travolta and Bruce Willis are in it. And it's like from the last five years. They're both in 42 seconds of the movie.
Yeah. I think part of the problem with them. When your aspiration becomes to have your own private plane that you can fly around. Yeah. You just start taking paycheck movies.
Yeah. This happens to him because there's in the research of it. It's like Travolta flew his plane and he landed in Wilmington, North Carolina and everybody loved them. And he still parks his plane there sometimes. I think I think for him, he's like, I'll do five a year.
How much can I make enough to buy this? Sesta. Gas is expensive now. It is. It is.
It's a really weird career though. It's the weird as he, because I go all the way back to him when he was welcome back Carter and he's Barbara Reno and then I suddenly was Saturday fever and he was the single biggest movie star we had. But then this comeback was like. People loved Travolta in the 90s.
Like I went to all those movies at least that I probably saw every one of them in the theater. Yeah. Including General's daughter. I feel like movies that were big hits at that time. They don't like phenomenon in Michael.
Those movies don't really hold up as well. Like they were really cool pitches where it was like what if he has like a six cent style power? Or what if he's an angel like they seemed interesting? But those movies don't really have like a cultural shelf life. But pulp and get shorty for sure do.
And the 70s movie still hold up. But it's a really tough face. Face off a soda. Face off. Yeah.
Enjoy broken arrow.
“You should watch out phenomenon with Craig with I Liz.”
Watch it with your twin Craig. Watch it with Liz. It's an emotional one. Okay. It's got.
It's got. I remember there was one sequence where. In phenomenon with Kira Sedrick. Because he's dying. And he's like, we love me for the rest of my life and she goes.
I'm going to love you for the rest of my life. Is that your attempt to do a Kira Sedrick's mouth? Yeah. I'm going to love you for the rest of mine. That's one of those movies.
By wife loves that movie. Not a great one. Not a great one. Laura Afron. Which one is he an angel in?
That's Michael. Michael. Is he an actor? Is he an actor? No, he's not an actor.
He's not an actor. This would be a great quiz show. We're just it's like he tried to guess that you're both a movie and we're a part of it. Terry Polo. Brief run here for her coming off beat the parents.
Big role for her probably excited when she got it. Yeah. You're going to be a judge, both in Vince Vaughn. Yeah. They're going to be fine over you.
Yeah. Yeah. She's just like a slice of American cheese. You're just like that was fine. All right.
She's done any favors by this script. I don't know. What she could have done with it. But yeah. It's kind of hard to judge in general any performance or character because you're like,
Well, what did what's not in the movie? Like what are we missing here? Matt O'Larry was the kid. He's actually good. Yeah.
Screenplay by Harold Coven. It's probably still mad about all the stuff they cut. And then Harold Becker directed this movie. Wait. Isn't this screenplay by Lewis Colick?
Oh, I wrote Harold Coven down. This might be Lewis Colick. I don't think it's Lewis Colick. Okay. You wrote a couple of movies like this.
Yeah. So he, one of the weird director careers we've had. First big movie. He directs he's 57 years old. Yeah.
The Indian field. He does taps and vision quest. Big town. The boost. You like the boost.
Sean loves the boost. You like the boost. The boost. Good choice on movie.
First time this year is amazing.
Yeah. Sea of love. Which we've done on the rewatchables. Yeah. Malice, which we will do on the rewatchable.
Vision Quest we've done.
Sea of love we've done. Malice just happens and. I just want to say one of my takes is that. Harold Becker now has the same number of movies on the rewatchables. A Stanley Kubrick.
That's what your case. Just a statement of the fact. I don't know what category I put that in, but I put it in one of the categories. City Hall. Yeah.
I love City Hall. You're, you're a big city. You don't want to know who likes City Hall. Oh, I love it. I don't remember.
Molly's mingling.
I always, this isn't what he says, but I always hear him say.
I'm governing again. Mercury rising 98. What was that? Well, yes. Yeah.
That's a thriller with Bruce Willis. This is, yeah. That would be great before that. It might have been the only movie I didn't see in 1998. And then domestic disturbance.
Oh, one. Never does another movie. Yeah. Well, he was 57 when he started. It calls it calls it a career for that.
75 million art budget made 54 million. Yeah. How did this movie call 75 million? I was like. What was it?
What did they spend this money on? I was like, Travolta probably got like 15 and 20 million for this. Probably. Yeah. Probably.
He's a huge star in 2000. Yeah.
That said, if this would be cost 75 million today,
it would be outrageous in 2000. Yeah.
“I think part of the reason is there was an incident that we'll mention.”
Hey, let's mention it now. This movie became famous because there is this, this is the Steven sigal shooting on himself award for most unbelievable anecdote from the actual film shoot. A huge fight in April 2001. We want me to north Carolina a bar fight with Vince Vaughn.
Steve was shemmy and the screenwriter Scott Rosenberg. Are you there? Do we assume that Scott Rosenberg was there because he was on set rewriting? We're writing. Yeah.
He's rewritten a lot of movies over the years. They get bombed at this bar by according to the accounts. Get into it with the locals. Somehow they end up going outside. Well, there's a report that some guys girlfriends start talking about.
Believeable. Yeah. I buy that. Yeah. There's some sort of fight.
A local man gets in a fight with Bashemi and slashes him with the knife.
Slashes his face. And everyone does the job. Stab them. Cool thing. And if you watch the movie, they have to hide Bashemi's face in a couple scenes.
Yeah. But he goes to see him in the hotel room. The whole side of the hotel room is dark for some reason. It's a completely different like lighting's in the rest of the movie. It's actually pretty cool.
And if this movie became famous for that for this huge fight, there was a trial all kinds of shit. Yeah, it's the most well known thing about the movie. It's a weird one. I was wondering how you guys felt about this.
If you're a big movie star, are you going to the local dive bar? I don't think any more. I think this kind of ended that kind of stuff. That's the cell phone era. Yeah. Yeah. This is like the tail end of that era.
“That's what I was thinking for sort of like what's aged the worst or best.”
Like just participating in the social culture of a town. It's so weird stories about like I know of a TV show where it's like the guy from from the TV show like just did very well for himself at bars around the city that they shot in. You know, like that kind of thing still can happen. John Hamm?
No. But yeah, when it's like a big movie star now, I don't think like Vince Vaughan and Steve Buschemi, whatever that is now would be like, Austin Butler and Timothy Chalamet could not go to like a bar in New Orleans.
That's exactly what I'm thinking. I would be like a bunch of security. I guess like the child above to do do that and then you see what happens. Yeah. Counter.
How much fun would it be to go out with Vince Vaughan and Steve Buschemi in 2001? Yeah. I'm going. Yeah. Steve Buschemi is like, Hey, Can you do a Buschemi?
I wasn't planning on it. Why don't we get after it tonight? I can't do it. Yeah. But they go out and they get after it and the whole thing.
I remember I was involved. The whole thing is they get stabbed. Yeah. Exactly. Then they kept going.
“I remember when they were filming the town in '09,”
Hamm was in Boston and I was there for my book tour. And I was out in my buddy Jaybug and Hamm came out and met us with Rebecca Hall, the lady from the movie. Yeah. And we had drinks and the Jaybug was, you know,
we're in a discrete part in Boston. And the Jaybug was just like, This is the madman. This is fucking crazy. It's the guy from madman.
He's come out of my TV. So I can imagine like in Wilmington, North Carolina with all these people that the celebrities aren't there. That much and they just see the guy from Swingers. Can I say something on somebody's girlfriend?
A little quick about this story because if you read about it, it does sound like this guy's girlfriend started hitting on Vince Vaughn. The guy lost his mind about it. But it sounds like Booshemi got Vince Vaughn's back and Vince Vaughn got, got Booshemi's back.
Like it does sound like two guys who were like, I'm not fucking back and down. Yeah, right. I love it.
Was this like, Kai Fitz is wedding was like this?
Bar fight down with the locals like coming out. You guys at all or no? Like is that Danny Kelly? Hey, mother fucker.
“I heard what you said about the chargers.”
Is there a lot of NFL media at Hiifetz's wedding? No. So Daniel Jeremiah wasn't getting in the race. You got an in my fight with Daniel Jeremiah? The sticks.
That would be amazing. I was incredible with the blade. I put you back you up in a bar fight. I wouldn't want him on my side. Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I played basketball. He didn't. He's right. I got all the benefits getting us into a bar fight. That's just the problem.
Yeah. Well, we're going to have a ringer awards at the end of this year. And one of the awards is ringer character of the year. And Hiifetz and Marine Palmer are now in the finals for working out after the next game and Sweden at five in the morning, going immediately to a gym and getting a lift in.
We're never going to be doing this award.
Well, maybe get an extra picture and a host through worship. And and Van's going to be upset that he wasn't nominated for more awards. It's like, what else do I need to do? Roger Ebert for this movie. One and a half stars.
So we've had it last week. He liked it more than good son last week. Good son was a half star. We recorded that. You haven't heard that yet.
This was one and a half. He wrote the movie is a paid holiday for its director Harold Becker. I say this because I know what Becker is capable of. Yeah. He's so disappointed.
Yeah. Tough one. And then he said, the final confrontation. So badly choreographed that I was not the least bit surprised when the studio called to say the Chicago critics had quote seen the wrong last reel.
Would we like to see the correct reel on Monday? I agree to eagerly expect to revise footage, but no. The only problem was the earlier reel was lack in the final music mix. So he must have been fucking furious. He has to go see this movie for a couple of weeks.
Imagine watching his twice in 72 hours. I would have been fucking pissed from hell. All right. We're going to take a break and then do most rewatchable or unwatchable scene. Café in his best form with the new Cuban one capsule machine from Shibu.
In every Cuba capsule, you can see from special occasions. For espresso, coffee cream, or coffee cream, or cup drop. The new Cuban one shows with premium design, compact bar cruiser, and small one-sticks price at 1920 euros. Thank innovative press blue technology.
Everyone has special aromatis with some degree of cream. And that creates the Cuba capsule machine in Dinah Chibofiale and of Chibode. All right. Most rewatchable scene. I like when Rick goes boating with the boys.
Definitely. Sure. And they're establishing frankx. She's just a great first dad. Have you guys ever believed someone less than when Vince Vaughn says,
"I'm not trying to be his dad, but I would like to be his friend." I can't hear him say a single thing you take if serious. Yeah. I can only hear the rival newscaster from Anchor Man, that he plays Vince Man too.
Yeah. Don't want to be mad at you. This is the same thing. He's just doing that performance in this movie. As a child of divorce,
I do love the first dad second dad dynamic, right? Can we talk about this choice in this scene? Obviously, Trouble to his character is not thrilled about the idea of taking his son stepfather on a three-man boat tour. Yeah.
Is there any situation in which you and either your mom and your dad and your stepparent would have an experience like that? Because that would be very unlikely for me as a child of divorce. Yes. We've talked about divorce in the past.
My situation was a little unusual because my parents would get together for my birthday or pretty friendly. Okay.
With that set, my dad and my stepdad and myself never would have gone out
and done anything. Yes.
“There's some sort of a line that I think.”
There's a missing element to this scene where it's like, Trouble to should have been taking some rough waves and bouncing him around a little bit. Right. Like, what I don't know.
It's just, it's choppy out here today. Right. Or the other thing. Because what this, I mean, this movie misses so many things that would have been good with almost needed a creative committee.
Like, ultimately, like, you're the first dad in this new guy comes in. He's a swing and dick. It's taller than you. Like, he's younger than you.
He's more successful than you. Like, there's places that could go. Where Trouble to even on the boat. Like, they should have made Vince Vaughn.
Like, oh, this guy's actually amazing on boats.
And Trouble does doing something wrong. And so let me, let me step in here. Yeah. Trouble to and he's just better at him. He did everything right.
Yeah. And it's just they didn't hit that for some reason.
“I think part of the issue is that Rick Jack, you know,”
just the Vaughn character, Rick Jack. I just don't get anything about him. Like, I don't understand who he really is in any way.
Well, there's investments.
The movie doesn't explain, like, the crimes that he did
where he comes from is he, like, a scumbag?
“Is he a guy who got caught up in a problematic situation?”
And then it drove him crazy and made him. I think he got a good idea. I think he got a good idea. I think he got a good idea. I think he got a good idea.
I think he got a good idea. I think he got a good idea. I think he got a good idea. I think he got a good idea. I think he got a good idea.

I think he got a good idea.
“I mean Vince Vaughn was just basically clean this shit up.”
I'm not playing anymore. I mean he throws his glove at him. Yeah. Both gloves. This is always awesome.
This is awesome. This scene is great. Both gloves look like they were purchased that day. Like there is just no way on either of it. Oh yeah.
It was not broken in yet. That's such a good idea. Why didn't teach you how to throw a ball, Danny? Who's your dad's kilo kneel? Go to the hand, go to the air.
You see it's because he's just doing Vince Vaughn. Yeah. At least I'm in the movie where he's really cooking like that. I wish he had done five worst scenes like that. They're making him dinner.
He's like, I don't know. I thought a cheeseburger was supposed to be red. Yeah. Yeah. She brought to runs in to Brachemie at the coffee shop.
Unbelievable. Into Vaughn's going to see Brachemie. And I forget who he says this to, but I read it down. When Brachemie says, you know what I'm noticing? Haven't seen any of the bookstores about here.
He says it's a trouble. What is that?
He's basically doing his Fargo care.
Yeah. No kid, I kid you not. He definitely probably got overpaid to be in this movie. Sure. He's still hot off for the fucking paid for it.
Yeah. He's still hot off for the fucking paid for it. Yeah. Yeah.
“He's still hot off for the fucking paid for it.”
Yeah. He's still hot off for the fucking paid for it. Yeah. He's still hot off for the fucking paid for it. Yeah.

“I like really like the black marble one of his first movies.”
He's made some really cool stuff over the course. Vision Quest. Vision Quest. Wonderful. Top 12.
I mean, tax is like tax is like tax is great. We producing when we did Vision Quest. Of course. The movie is fantastic. Yeah.
The lap pulled down. One of the good for solo performance. Yeah. Yeah. He's great on that one.
So yeah. It's kind of disappointing. He's like losing the fastball in real time. Too bad. Well, evil events going into Danny's room.
The old block to one door didn't knock the other door. Yeah. Black one of my two bedroom doors. What a moron this kid was.
It is the first from Helsing though.
Yeah. In the movie where you're like, oh, it's not just that he had to murder his co-conspirator in a racketeering scam. He's actually now menacing this young boy. Uh, one of my favorite scenes of the movie and also probably the funniest scene
in the movie. Frank punches a guy outside of the school. It's just the best. Get in the car. It's not been in the film before.
It's no longer in the way that like he knocks him down and he fucking square punches him in the face outside of his school. And the way the scene ends his cherry polygon. Sorry, Mike. No.
Then it goes to him in the car. And they're driving away.
The sun goes to head that was cool.
And she both goes, Danny, don't you realize what I've just done?
It's called kidnapping. Yeah. And it's like how did they? How did this stay in the movie? The cops care about it.
Yeah.
“Oh, we got a punch throw outside of the school.”
Yeah. Shut down the roads. You know what? I've just done. It's called kidnapping.
What an amazing movie. This is the podcast fire. The mom realizing Rick is a bad guy. Mm-hmm. And then, um, I like the, I like the wall it scene.
When, when. Oh, we're, Rick realizes that Danny took his wallet. And he's just like, you're a little fucking liar. Aren't you Danny? Well, I, we skipped over Danny's betrayal of his father on the witness stand.
Oh, yeah. That's right. Yeah. We're the most nightmare sequences in movie history. How fucking dare he?
Yeah, I don't know. I don't, I don't, I don't, I've been to that. I don't know if I'm bouncing back. It's like that. Can I have $2,000?

How does it take?
“The CR thinks Luke Wilson could have been Harrison Ford.”
How does it take a word? What do you guys see on it? If this movie is about Steve Bushemi's character hunting down Vince's, and that the tension is that Vince is trying to start a new life and Ray is getting in the way of that.
It's like a really, really cool OTS crime movie. And it's like they really had like an original, you know, criminal trying to turn a new leaf, getting hunted down by his past. It would have been awesome.
Imagine five more Bushemi and Vaughn scenes. But instead, we got Danny in the boat.
This is sort of related to that in terms of how they misframe the movie,
but Danny is the villain of the movie, and he should be in prison for betraying his father publicly. And was kind of a deranged kid? That's some problems, you know? Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Well, he really like climbing the cars. Like there's some sto-way thing they mentioned in the beginning. And they were like, yeah, he did that sto-way thing again.
It's like, so he's just climbing into the back seats of cars.
“So he's just getting out because his parents got divorced, right?”
Yeah. Like these are like weird runaway things? Yeah, I think that Danny's probably, yeah. I had a Troubleton bond switch parts better movie. That's my casting what if.
It's the only thing I had. Oh, interesting. I think you're right. Just think it's better. Oh.
It's funnier because this movie was always meant to be an unintentional comedy classic anyway.
I think Trouble to try to be the bad big swing and dick bad guy. And Vaughn being like the younger guys. He's got some Chicago mob. Big guys. Yeah.
Vaughn and Terry Polo got married when they were like 19. He didn't work out. He just makes sense. Yeah. Vaughn and Terry Polo got married when they were like 19.
He just makes sense. Yeah. Vaughn and Terry Polo got married when they were like 19. He just makes sense. Yeah.
Vaughn and Terry Polo got married when they were like 19. And Terry Polo married. That's they're at least 15 years. And how old is she supposed to really like this kid's 12? She's right.
She's in her right. It's supposed to be like mid 30s. But it mid the parent. She's in mid 20s. That comes out a year earlier.
Yeah. Yeah. It's where it's off. Cast him when he has confined any. Best act.
I were two really good ones. Chris Ellis and Ruben Santiago Hudson. Right? Who's Chris Ellis? He's the other cops.
“He's like always in NASA's control cell.”
He's great. I went deep diver. Okay.
Chivalta's girlfriend played Beatrice girlfriend on us.
She was the only time we saw her. She sure did. The judge in the custody trial hearing. The evil jury foreman from a time to kill. Oh.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's a good that guy. Yeah.
You see his face. And you just think about the KKK. And that bad trust of the South. This movie has a similar energy. It's similar energy is a time to kill.
We're just like, what? They're going for the KKK. You know, like, an hour into the movie. You're like, they're going to lose. Damn.
Where does the word? It's for shemi, right? Absolutely. Can you make a case for the hooker? No.
Patty? Yeah. Patty. We're passing time. Yeah.
Spots and. Hutchinson. The Paul.
That whole thing with the lighter.
For it's like 20, 25 bucks. Recast and couch director. I'm going to give you three choices as the surgeon. Okay. Um, the cultural funnel on 50 cent.
Like just trying to get Richard died. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Just like I'm trying to move his down.
“The sergeant and the best thing to start with.”
I'm sure he screams Marilyn police. Okay. Is get Richard. Oh, one. When does it come out?
I think it is. Yeah. Philip Michael Thomas. Sure. Okay.
Yeah. Okay. Little come back for him. Older. He's been around.

He's been around for a long time. He's been around for a long time. He's been around for a long time. He's been around for a long time. He's been around for a long time.
He's been around for a long time. He's been around for a long time. He's been around for a long time. He's been around for a long time. He's been around for a long time.
He's been around for a long time. He's been around for a long time. He's been around for a long time. He's been around for a long time. He's been around for a long time.

He's been around for a long time.
He's been around for a long time. He's been around for a long time.
He's been around for a long time. He's been around for a long time. Maryland coast, definitely not. So this was filmed in both Carolina. Is this apex mountain for the cinematic depiction of the
DePaul men's college basketball program? This was if he's watching the 2000-2001 team. It's Bobby Simmons and Stephen Hunter. Oh, they weren't bad. Yeah.
But I had three pros on that team. Use apex mountain for that being depicted. Yeah. I mean, DePaul is definitely the 80s. The Mark Aguire, right?
Yeah. But I'm just saying like being depicted on. It's just a weird bit that he's like, I'm really in just. I'm from.
But they have to bang home that he's from Chicago.
“So you have to do a poll because you have no other.”
What are you playing Maryland? Why would that game be on in Maryland? Well, it's a good question. There's some speculation about why is it on at all, because it's the middle of the fall.
Oh, yeah. Yeah. I had to mix it on. It's it's October 18th. He dies.
There's no college basketball yet. It's not fun. We'll sketch you. How about backers? Yeah, whatever.
Nobody on the other side. Or something. Maybe this ports are. Um. Huge embarrassing bar fights during a filming.
I think this was apex Mountain site. Well, there's probably like a ton from the 40s. Where like John Wayne split a guy's head open. He's going to say it's got to be some sort of all of a read, Richard Harris story where those guys are, you know,
Dean Martin Kill the guy. Yeah, Robert Shaw. Those guys are getting some trouble. Yeah. It's a fair point.
All of a reader Richard Harris probably had a worse one. Were they fought 10 guys and then shit on one of them? Peter O'Toole fell down. Yeah. Yeah.
He's the British guys used to drink in my grandfather's pubs back in England. Yeah. He would have like, he'd won in Camden. He had won in like the Knightsbridge area back in like the 40s or 50s or whatever. They used to get hammered there.
That'd be a good movie. He's like they were, but they were like a limpic like blackout trippers. Yeah. Two bottles of whiskey. Yeah.
Just preaching. And there's like a legacy with it too. Like when you're a young up on commentary like this is how it's got to go. Yeah. I've got, I've got to get blackout drunk.
That's part of.
“I think like John Penn took that mantle for a while.”
Yeah. It's all newman thing. I mean, right? Drink like a case of beer every day. Best.
We had to replace Scorsese or Spielberg. Because you've had to. Can't do. We can't do that anymore. Because why?
Because we had Spielberg doing Scorsese or Spavter retire. They should have. Should we have a different pair of directors every episode or just a steady. Now it's Becker or Hansen. Yeah.
I was going to say Becker or Kubrick. I have replaced it for this episode with best name for the movie for a racehorse. And it's either Southport or Ray Coleman. But I think a horse name Ray Coleman would have been pretty good. I think Rick Jack would have been good.
I wrote Danny Lies. Yeah. Here comes Danny Lies. Cruiser Hanks or Cruiser and Hanks. God be.
God be.
This is the first Cruiser and Hanks.
I believe that. Should be Cruiser next. Right. Hanks is the father. Hanks is the father.
Cruises. What would you go the other way? Hanks going against type.
I would enjoy that.
I'd like to see it. It's definitely cruise. Chivalta is playing a cruise part. Oh, one is my Norte airport for cruise. What's Hanks doing in 01?
Is it the castways 99? Let's go. Let's go. Cast away. It's like a 2000.
And the wheels start to shift for Hanks a little bit. Cruises still long. He's in vanilla sky. He's still cranky. Can you get a baseball scene at a cruise?
That's true. And Hanks, you know, bigger their own. Let's do it. That's right. I think.
Maybe they can have catch with each other. Crank. It's interesting because neither of them normally play the Von Part. No. If you could only have one who'd you have.
I would have Cruis in the Trouble to Part. I would like to see. I'm not trying to be your dad, but I'd like to be your friend. And the baseball scene in the huge picket nets. All the obvious dubs.
Did the full inverses fuck? Did it Rick put any effort into a new identity? Or did he just buy like a new kind of new clothes? I think it's like it demands an even bigger question. Like the plan.
So he's is to pretend to be happy. And marry a single mom and do public acts as a citizen. I don't think they're pretending to be happy at all.
“He says to her, you're the best thing that's ever happened to me.”
But he's been thinking that away with it.
I think he thinks like, I'm going to, I've always wanted to get out of the grime and be a big man in society.
And what you need is money to do that. And it's all working out. And he just like Terry Polo is a smoke show. So I'm super stoked. I mean, that's another one that I wanted to ask is like, how fat?
Like, so when this movie starts, how long have they been divorced for? A year? Because they make it seem like the divorce just happened. I would say a year. She got pregnant pretty fast.
How much time goes by during the film? It's unclear. Yeah. All of it's unclear. I thought a couple of days.
But that would mean she was going to be more than that. But she was probably pregnant at the wedding. They get like a custody trial. It feels like September, October. I don't think that this town has a big docking.
They're probably just like sure custody trial. It's gonna turn tomorrow. Rick changes his name in his life. But it's totally cool having a newspaper wedding announcement with his picture. Oh, yeah.
I'm probably vetoing that if I'm Rick Barton. Not a good choice. I will say the choice of picking a name in which there is another prominent person with that name. Good Google is really smart. Yeah.
See, you recommend that? Yeah, you'd be like, my name is Humphrey Bogard.
“Do you think they should have had Rick with his old life when the newspaper then comes up like had a beard?”
Like something about him. They look exactly the same. It's just like, yeah. It's clearly him.
The no blood and the car post stabbing was incredible.
South poor brick works. Just having no evidence at all anywhere. Mm-hmm. No fingerprints on the door. Nothing in the incinerator.
It's just all gone. There's not like one idea or anything. If Danny had just said at the trial, like I stand by what I said and also this man has threatened me since then and said he's going to kill my father. If I say what I'm saying on the stand. At the worst, the cops would be like, we got to get Danny out of that house and we to put you guys into protective clothing.
Yeah, we got to at least figure this out for the next two weeks. How does Frank find Betty the hooker? Is that her house all the sudden? No, that's in the motel, isn't it? Wasn't it seem like a fun fight?
I mean, I think he goes to her house after going to the motel. Patty the hooker. He's a Patty or Betty. It's Patty and he sees the phone records. Right.
He's like, who's this? And he's like, I love the girls. So the ladies. This guy's fucking birth all and our showdown. There's Wayne Jenkins.
Fuck, a track of people down. I was working with Sherlock Holmes. Just track of people down, but can't figure out Rick Barnes is Rick Barnes.
“How would they know immediately that she lost the babies?”
My favorite nitpick from this. And then Danny, I'm sorry. Thanks, Sergeant. I'm going to be suing the town now. Thanks for being sure.
Thanks for the apology that I'll now be talking about in the trial because my boat house is gone. That Southport Chamber of Commerce is going down. Yeah, everything.
Like Frank is basically on the town.
This brings the town to its knees. Yeah. It's over. Anything else? From picking nets now.
Sequel, prequel, prestige, TV all black guys. Wait, one more thing. Yeah. What's going on with the other two convicts? Are you still in prison?
Those guys are out. That they were looking for Rick. Why not? I think they were probably like we can't find them. We're idiots.
That's the sequel. Raise like I almost gave up. And then you had a fucking wedding announcement. All I knew was you got you go rerun the East Coast. That's DD2.
DD2. Coming. Yeah, sometimes they come back. They can show up and just be like look like now it's your debt to Frank.
You know?
Yeah.
“And you got to make us boats for like get away boats for bankrupt.”
We're in drug boats. I'm going all black cast for the next category. And they probably already made it. We just didn't know it happened. I would do prequel.
I would do the racketeering story like that. Oh, yeah, that was what I did too. I want to see what they did. It's so vague. Chicago?
Yeah. I think we get Ron Dean in there. Yeah. Let's get to Paul. Yeah.
Davis. Yeah. Is this movie better? The Wayne Jenkins. For you.
The floor is saying low Robert ever. And Dr. Charles Nichols. Or someone else. You're a little fucking liar. Aren't you Danny?
You're going to do this for me. I'm going to clip your nuts. Like I clip your daddy's. He builds boats for me now. As long as I've seen the other day.
That's a perfect match. Yeah. I'm going to do the same thing. I'm going to do the same thing. I'm going to do the same thing.
I'm going to do the same thing. I'm going to do the same thing. I'm going to do the same thing. I'm going to do the same thing. I'm going to do the same thing.
I'm going to do the same thing. I'm going to do the same thing. I'm going to do the same thing. I'm going to do the same thing. I'm going to do the same thing.
I'm going to do the same thing. One of the worst performances for Epix Mountain and just when Oscar and show history. Really, really. That you can't make a case for anything. An answer for questions.
Did Travolta Terry Polo get back together? I don't think so. This was my Z1 Neo. Was another way to do a sequel to the movie. Danny is traumatized for life by what happens obviously.
But Susan and Travolta get back together. And then that drives Diane, Travolta is a girlfriend crazy. And then she goes out and seeks revenge in the sequel.
This is the second DD2 is Diane's revenge.
Yeah. That's where you really needed to take the number of these in instead of that actually. She would have cooked. Yeah. She was bringing some of the Valerie energy.
Yeah. She's angry now. Um. Terry Polo and her, it's all of Jack Rick's fortune. I bet that they hadn't drawn up wills yet.
They got married. Do you do that the day of? I mean, like it's they're married. She inherits everything. So in a weird way, it all worked out for everybody.
Yeah. They get back together. They get fully skittin' involved with what the money. How that money, guys. He sues the town.
He owns Southport. Ones like a big chunk of the city now because they fucked up his boat house. Huge W for Travolta. Yeah. Yeah.
He gets big when. Except for his son being destroyed forever. Well, that was my other announcement.
When does Danny kill his first prostitute?
Is it Patty?
“I think Danny becomes a compulsive wire after this.”
Because he's like, it worked. It continues to be a compulsive wire. Compulsive wire. Compulsive wire. And then Danny should become a detective.
And it should drive this sergeant guy crazy. You've now the chief police. He's like, I can't believe. So fucking liars my detective. Really nicely shaped the domestic disturbance.
Cinematic reverse. I can believe they'd make nine of these. Danny's hosting a fantasy football podcast for the ringer. Yeah. Danny's like, me and Peyton.
I didn't expect it. He knows the thing or two about electrocution as well. Those are the qualifications. The memorability of both want for this movie. Clearly the Rick Barnes Chamber of Commerce award.
That big black he got. Or did Danny's Cal Ripkin glove? Oh, the glove would be good. I want one of those boats. The wood above?
Handmade boat. Pretty flammable. Good point, fair. Coach Finsteck, Mr. Miyagawa, best worst lifeless. And believe your child.
Sure. You don't agree with that. Well, yeah. Sure. I think that should.
My whole thing is if a story's that elaborate. You have my attention. Yeah. It sounded like I saw a soft Rick Kiligye. It's like, so we drove in.
There's a thing. There was an incinerator. Like, add some point. There's just too much detail. I just want you when he's like on the stand and he's like,
I actually got out and town. And I, and I, I just took off. It's like, well, how do you know about the incinerator then? And how do you know about all the details of this thing? Yeah.
Best double feature choice. Add the stepfather. It's a tricky one because it makes them this movie look worse. Because the stepfather is better. It's a father's good.
“I have to be cool because you need to have a power cleanser of”
Trouble to, like, you feel like having a Trouble to and Vaughan. Yeah. They're in it together. Not bad of it, Earth. No.
Who won the movie? I think Vaughan did just because I just like watching Vince Vaughan. He's really respected. I really respected how hard he tried all throughout. I wrote Matt O'Leary, who's the only actor who's like actually giving.
Oh, you got the four points. You know, kid performances are really up and down. So we kind of hinges on him. He's very good in the movie. Okay.
It would be kind of amazing if Colkan was doing good sun in this movie.
Wow. And kind of came face to face with another killer. Oh, like, two from Hell character meat. Yeah. That would be cool is if you could start making, like,
from Hell crossover movies.
Another cinematic universe idea.
That sounds great. Which you think, Craig?
It's a great summer selection.
I immediately knew I could watch this movie at like noon on a Monday. Which was great. I'm really rocking out some classics here for a moment. That I could talk to actually know what it is. Yeah.
Yeah.
“I honestly, mostly, just kind of fascinated observing John Drupult in this movie.”
Like an extra terrestrial. And I kind of was just obsessed with his entire look in performance and everything about him. What about the circumference of his head? Yeah, head is enormous. Triple that it's fun, head, head, head, head, head.
Scientologists don't drink, right? Ooh. I don't know. I don't believe so. Because he's familiarity with the Bud Light can.
It seems like it's the first time he's all known.
What do they call the cruise? Cruise would have that, too. It's not Bud Light. Like, what does it say on it? I think it's supposed to be like Keystone or something like that.
Or Natty. Trouble does really all over the place.
“He can really play up and down to his opponent.”
He's like Donald. That's like you could win three games of them and he's the worst quarterback in the league. It's a great take. Or he's like, you could win a Super Bowl in the right system. True.
Yeah.
It's true if he's got the right coach.
Trouble to have saved our money. What a Craig's best takes. Yeah. When I was growing up, I loved get shorty. I thought get shorty was the greatest movie.
That's a kid who is obsessed with movies. And in that movie, he's so fucking cool. He's so... Yeah. Unbelievable.
Yeah. And, you know, he's in his late 30s early 40s in that movie. He's not like kid or anything. But it's like just a few years later,
“where you're like, has this guy ever been in a movie before?”
Right. He had a stretch in the late 90s where it felt like he was one of the five biggest stars in the world again. Yeah. And he was, you know, costs aren't started to lose some steam. Some of the guys from the 90s, 80s were losing steam.
And he was kind of the backup choice to hanks for a lot of different roles. Well, there's a lot of guys out that period where it feels like he and Nick Cage are the two biggest action stars in the world. Right. Which was strange. Why was fun when they were in the same movie together?
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I love your wife. I like it when he's in bad movies.
I like when he's in good movies. General's daughter is the only time I go sideways. He's singular. He's a singular person. Feeling similar action?
Yeah. I just re-watched it because we did a Robert II of all episode. Great of all performance in that movie. It's not bad. It's a little stuff, but it's not bad.
It's a very confusing similarly at the end of that movie. But that's kind of also at the end of his perspective ability. Well, we did this at a sequence, but good. The good son, which we've already done is coming next week and that's a much, much, much better movie. But from Hellmont, CR, it's just, it's having just bangers left and right.
Turn your brain off. Have some fun. Thanks to Craig. Thanks to Gahau as well. Thanks to you guys.
And we'll see you next week. I'm a good son. (upbeat music)
