And the expansion news is picked up this week with potential franchises in Seattle and Vegas. I've got some thoughts. I have some expansion draft thoughts or just stuff that really gets me excited. And we're going to have Mike Flork and off on a little bit later, who's a reporter. I'm just
hanging out talking about this a little bit. So the theory would be that you've got to get 23 of the 30 voters to vote for this. That's not the theory. That's the actual rule. But I don't know that they would do this even though we've been here before, not that long ago. But it was like, hey, let's get the CBA worked out. Let's get the new TV deal worked out. And now these things have been worked out. Maybe Dolan was trying to get certain other owners on his side. Maybe they didn't
think they were going to get the vote. But it feels like this has a lot of momentum now. And then it'll likely happen. Again, with Seattle and Vegas. Seattle, it was a tragedy. They should have
never, ever lost the franchise. Should have happened. And that one was pretty painful. But they're
going to get their history back. Because if you go to basketball, reference and you look at okay see thunder all time career leader and assist, it says Gary Payton. I guess in the media guy, and I don't know this because I don't have an okay see thunder media guy. I don't need one. We're good. But I guess in the media guy, I was reading about this one, and then we'll just say like Westbrook. So okay see, even though they technically inherit the history of team relocating,
they didn't really even want it. And I don't blame them. You know, I maybe there's some divorce married analogy that I could come up with there, but I'm not married in order to force. So maybe you don't want to hear from me. That makes a lot of sense. But like why would you want to be bragging about the sort of thing? Like as if it isn't painful enough that Sonic's fanbase lost their team. Well, they're going to get one back. And then, of course, the other one is Vegas.
The Vegas thing is always very annoying. And how it's, it's almost like a human nature thing to
meet and that, oh, we can't have a franchise there. Why can't we? We just can't, man. Can you imagine? As if there aren't more dangerous cities where there are our professional sports teams currently located. But the NHL, because they're a little bit more aggressive with the expansion stuff. You look at them historically. And obviously, you know, relocation on top, everything else. But
With Vegas coming in in 1718, it's been an immediate hit.
been terrific. The capacity is the number one capacity of any NHL arena. They're like 102.5 capacity. I mean, there's probably out of 12 teams at our 100% capacity if you look at the attendance numbers for the NHL. But they get there. And they've crushed. And the raiders don't
“really have to worry about the night and night out value, because I think the NFL's far more”
about the TV partnership, because we're talking about a limited inventory of games. But it's an awesome setup. I went there for the provol. So that's sucked. But it's an awesome, awesome stadium. And it's, it's pretty convenient. The ACEs have done incredibly well. And then you have the ACEs who I will tell you. I've completely forget about where the ACEs are, who's on the team. I'm not your guy for the Oakland ACEs right now in the middle of March. I'm just telling you
that right now. Like, I had to look it up again. I'm like, "When the fuck are they playing
there?" So the Vegas thing just always felt kind of like, "Oh, somebody else did it?"
I guess now we can all do it. And now you almost feel left out if you're the NBA here. And then I started thinking about the expansion fees. Because I think this is what the NHL did like 20 years ago where they just went. One of the expansion fees, like, "Yeah, sure. You get a team. You get a team." Boom. It's a nice hit of cash. And even though the projections of what the franchise could be worth, the projections that I was reading as you were probably reading today too,
seven to 10 billion. Each feels a little high. If the Lakers went for 10 billion, like there's no possible way that it's going to cost either Seattle or Vegas, 10 billion for one team. But you don't ever want to undersell that number. You want to get that out there and be like, "Yeah, you know what these teams are new or the team?" Then they're not going to be that good. So, you know, maybe we'll probably undercut the overall valuation of all the other 30 owners that
are really established. So they want that number that is out there that's public. They want it to be excessive. They want it to be on the high side. Even if it's like the Lakers, the same price as the Lakers is because it's going to be like a year later. So I don't have a problem
with that. But when I think about the math on the 500 million. So say both teams sell for 15 billion
combined, pretty easy math, 30 owners. Everybody gets checked with 500 million dollars. Boom. Right? But that's an agreement to buy in now. You have two extra partners on all the other revenue. And I'm sure like say your Ryan Smith owns a Utah Jazz. Young guy probably going to run the Utah deal. He's got the hockey team too. Like probably going to run that the rest of his life. Right? And hopefully his kids will run it even longer. There's definitely some math where you go,
do I take the $500 million hit right now knowing that I'm cutting into my share of all this future revenue? Like maybe it doesn't really make that much sense. And that's probably why this is taken a little bit longer because I'm sure some owners are positioned to be like,
yeah, sure. I probably don't need it, which sounds insane to be like, I don't need the 500 million
right now. But if I map this out over 20 years, like I'm actually going to be costing myself a little
“bit money because of the now partnership cut over all this money is going. So that's why I was looking”
at the TV deals this morning because if you look at the O2 TV deal with the NBA and its TV partners, it was a six year deal for about four and a half billion total. Okay? Some of these numbers are all over the place. I was trying to do my best. But I'm in the ballpark. All right. So let's just go along with me here. Six years, four and a half billion. Then the 2014 deal, and I remember because I was at ESPN and everybody freaked out when John Skipper was leading the charge on this,
they did a deal for nine years, 24 billion. So the last deal was like four and a half billion total. This one was 2.6 billion a year. Again, in that ballpark and people were like, man, did Skipper fuck this one. You know, like, what is he doing? Just because he likes the NBA, just because he has that painting in his office? Like, what is he doing? Well, he was right because the most recent deal that signed in 25, 11 years, 77 billion. So seven billion a year.
So you had a deal. Like, we're just talking, we're not talking about the 80s here. The beginning of this century, a deal that's total value over six years is 4.6 billion to the next deal that's 2.6 billion a year that jumps to seven billion a year. Now, we could go, all right, well, that's it. Like, it can't go any higher than this, right? I get it. There has to be some
“end in sight. Maybe, maybe that's why you'd have owners going like, all right, I think we're at the”
top of the market here. Let's get these expansion checks because there's no way we're going to do better than that. But I don't, that might be, that might be wrong too. I don't, I can't sit here and tell you that I'm right. But I know that whenever there's some massive number that's announced, the general public usually uninformed will go, well, that's ridiculous. The same way that Skipper deal at ESPN was like, that's an awful deal. Like, within two years you're like,
This is a great deal.
in that negotiation going, hey, this is actually going to work out for you. But the astonishment of the overall number just leads the public to be like, well, that's ridiculous. Then this last
deal, you're like, seven million a year, like, I don't even watch the NBA anymore. Well, I, oh,
yes, pulling of one guy, you don't watch the NBA anymore. I guess everyone else just wasted 77 million dollars. So part of me started thinking, like, do they go, hey, this has to be the top
“of the market. So that's why we'll expand out now and take the expansion fees because we can't do”
any better than this or you go, we're not even close. We're not even close to whatever that massive, whatever that number is, or you're like, this number is now wrong. Because when you think about all the different outlets, all the different partnerships, whether you're trying to watch games on ESPN, ABC, NBC, Amazon Prime, knowing that everyone will want to be in play, that you still have other venues where you could get your product on there and then knowing for the
television partners that it may not just be about maximizing profits, it's just having that partnership in place, kind of like owning a franchise, where it's this luxury item, where you actually have to be in business with some sort of live rights because you also need eyeballs, you need people leaving the app on when they turn the TV off, they turn it back on and then your app comes up first, the same way with local radio, where it's like if you're in a major baseball market and there's
a couple sports stations fighting over it, and it's like the one that has baseball is going to win because everyone goes to bed, turns off the radio, then turns on the radio in the morning, and gets what the entire lineup is ready to go because you're waking up on the same channel that you went to bed with because you're watching baseball. I know that can sound a little outdated,
“but I think it's very true. You're sitting around all day on Sunday, watching CBS and watching”
Fox and the number of ads that those networks are running for all of their other products, or it's like maybe we're not making every dollar back on all the commercial stuff that we're selling, but the value we have with the association with all of these eyeballs, like we don't even know if we can put a number on that entire thing. So I'm willing to hear like any argument on like everybody obsessed with the term bubble versus they were not even close to a bubble. Again, I don't know.
Expansion draft. I guess it says that we're just supposed to go by the 2004 Charlotte Bobcats rules. Each team had a protect or was allowed to protect eight players. If you didn't have eight players under contract, you still had to provide one team that was unprotected to Charlotte. So if you had a bunch of unrestricted free agents for strict free agents or whatever, it was like we still have to leave somebody unprotected. You don't get to just look out and say oh we only have eight
guys under contracts or all of them protected. You can't touch any of our guys. Charlotte went on a restricted free agent bender for their expansion draft approach back then. So nine of their 19 expansion picks, they could have taken more overall players, but they wanted to be nimble and wanted to be light, light on their feet, malleable out of the marketplace. They signed 9, excuse me, they drafted 9 restricted free agents and they only signed one to Marseille. Shout out to Bobby
“Marx. I think he was the one behind that nugget on the ESPN today. I also wonder too, if maybe there”
was a little games have been shipped with some agents being like, hey, can you sign our restrict? Can you draft our restricted free agent? And like you're not going to match anyway. So basically, it's like a way to get your guy to become an unrestricted free agent. Even if they had matching rights, but the fact that they only signed one of the nine that they drafted makes me think that their may have been like, hey, just go go draft our restricted, he becomes unrestricted. Like,
we'll hook you up down the road, who knows? Some of the more belief like the rules that I think are going to carry over here, the new teams back then the Bobcats are only allowed to spend 66% of
whatever the cap is. So if the cap's 180 million, 60% of that, the first year, 77% of that,
the second year, you can't win the lottery in the first three years. So that'd be for both teams, because it's exactly what happened with Vancouver and Toronto and it's why I versinated it up on the sixers, because Toronto won the lottery in 96, but could not have the number one overall pick. I was looking back at some other stuff, too, is that you may, the real thing isn't about evaluating, oh, you're going to do that, evaluate the league, figure out who you want to draft,
who's unprotected, right? But the real moves may be in drafting players that are unprotected in the expansion draft that other teams want you to take to get off of their money, because there's a couple of examples of this, was Charlotte. Jolly White was on the Sun's books for, I think,
six million, you're like, can you take our guy? He's not, he's not that good, and they traded
Him a first round draft pick.
to, I think it's Steve Nash, never heard of him. They also did it with the Clippers, where the
“Clippers had drop-neigh-ack, remember him? Big shooter. He was expensive, Clippers wanted to get that off”
the books, so Charlotte was able to move up from four to number two and exchange for the Clippers pick, and they took a mecca focal four. So I do wonder, though, what kind of leverage did Charlotte have, because they were the only expansion team? Because now if we have two expansion teams, the exact same time, pretty simple, you have two different front offices you can deal with trying to get off of some of this money, where Charlotte, the only game in town, ended up doing pretty well with that
stuff. Not a station on May's like, an all-timer, but they get the point, you're in the game, you get a first round draft pick. Just for cleaning the books for somebody else, when you have an entirely clean cap sheet and you're not even signing anything, guys, you draft half the guys you signed, you didn't even, or you draft in the expansion draft, you didn't even sign. The last thought I have on this, and I know what's kind of locked in, the eight player thing,
I do wonder if you have more ruthless front offices now, backed by more ruthless ownership, if they would say, hey, is there any way we can like tweak that a little bit, because like I like all our players? Can we make it nine? Can we protect nine, guys? Maybe you just can't even do it. It's 30 in the CBA, and that's, that's yeah. But I can't help but like watch some of the teams,
because we even did this exercise a couple of years ago. We just had an expansion draft the first
time. This is even brought up. Maybe it's three years ago, and you're going through it, and the, it feels like it starts to get a little thin around round five or six, but then I'll watch Portland,
“and I'm like, is it wrong to like 11 guys on the trailblazers?”
And I'll admit that could be the thing that I've said for a long time, is that sometimes familiarity tricks you into thinking you have depth. But I do think that the, I look, I think this is a really, really deep league right now with the talent. So I wonder if that would be something where it's like, hey, we get, we get where we know what happened in the past, but like, look at all these young guys. Look at our two-way guys. You know, you see what McCong's doing in
the G-League? Can't just let that go. That could mean McCong has a franchise.

It's turned into your home for timber wolves basketball with my breakdown Monday, finished last week with John Cresinski joins us because we have news. We have a lot of news. Here with Ant, the expansion talk of whether or not the timber wolves get it up in the Eastern Conference,
but let's just start with this team and Ant's knee injury, something that's been an issue. This guy plays all the time. So for him to miss a week or two weeks here, it feels more significant. So tell us the latest. Yeah, Ryan. You're right. He's one of the most durable players since he's entered the league. He's played in prior to this injury now, 94% of the games available to him over these last six years. So this is something that we rarely see with Anthony Edwards.
Everything that I'm told from behind the scenes, they're calling it knee inflammation in his right knee and he will be reevaluated in one to two weeks. They are leaving that kind of window as wide open as they can just to see how he responds to a little bit of rest and treatment historically. He's been a Wolverine like player. I mean, he just heals quickly. Even within games, you'll see him crashing to the floor and thank you. He broke his leg and he'll get up and walk it
off and play and drop 25 more points. So there's optimism around the team that he is going to be fine sooner than later that he's going to be back in plenty of time for the playoffs. But there's no question that this has been something that has really been bothering him over the last week to 10 days. I was in Oklahoma City and he was really laboring kind of with the knee right there and you could tell he was uncomfortable. And so they just want to get him off his feet, get him treated
and they don't see any surgery. They don't see anything like that right now. They just think he needs some rest and some rehab and he'll be back at it. But it's a tough time for them to be missing their best player for sure. Yeah, and that's kind of a point. Like the Tim rules fans,
I think they understand we are looking at you as a team that at least can get...
Western Conference Finals. Maybe get out because of what they've done the last couple of years.
There were six seed last year, but dominant in that matchup. The year they two years ago, they were three seed. It was a 56-minute season and you're kind of like, all right, you know,
“that's still the series that I think is they get through Denver than to lose to Dallas.”
And just there was a couple moments there where it looked like maybe the younger guys just more 100% ready. Luke, it's a huge shot against Rudy. Like that's a series that as I was watching and I'm going like Minnesota's going to regret this. I mean, sure, everyone's going to regret losing a conference finals. Last year didn't feel like a regret. Last year felt like an alarming wake of call of like what the separation is, even though there's been some regular season results have been
a sort of against OKC that they should feel good about. I guess my general overall thing is it feels like it's going in the wrong direction even if they're still in the conversation. Look, I'm going to be shocked if it's not San Antonio, OKC, like shocked. And I'll say that now, but I'm looking at them because of these last two years of expecting more and I'll admit this year, the collective, almost 70 games here now, I feel worse about them. Yeah, I think that's fair.
I mean, it has been an underwhelming season and I think I'm still running. I'm really high on their individual talent from like one through eight or nine. I still think that if when you stack it up against a lot of rosters in the league and certainly in the conference, you feel pretty good about how the talent stacks up. But just has been a frustrating team to watch because they haven't seemed like they've been on the same page together all season long. I mean, it's they are not playing
as a group. There's a lot of ISO ball. There's a lot of moodiness around the team. It's not one
“that has shown to be super connected. And a lot of times, I think that's what carries the team is”
when you have the good vibes, you're feeling super competitive and you're all in this thing together. And I don't think it's the case of these guys not liking each other individually. But there doesn't seem to be a connective tissue that is bringing it all together. And so that's why you see them kind of have a malaise through this regular season and kind of not showing up for games against teams with bad records and not even really playing well now. Other than, you know, they beat
Phoenix on Tuesday night and actually played pretty well. But largely speaking, it's just not been good basketball that you're watching. And that's what is going to take to beat Oklahoma City or San Antonio or Denver. I mean, you got to play really well in these series to win these games. And so far, the timbre was having shown any kind of inclination to sustain really good basketball for any long stretch of time. Let's talk about the personalities because, you know, I understand
“it's going to be a high usage guy. He deserves it. He should be, right? And then I think the feeling”
and I ask Finch about this, and I think we all kind of understand is that like Randall gave them another on-ball kind of decision-maker playmaker that was different than what cat provided and also cat had a lot to do with finances as well. But that was kind of thought of of like this other guy off of ant that can maybe initiate things that's also a really tough matchup because of the size and ball handling. And so when it's working like, I understand that part of it,
but I don't think ant is a guy that goes into a game being like, I'm going to be selfish or like an akin only play one way. I really, I don't look at him the way I'll look at maybe some other players that put a huge numbers, but I go, you know, I don't know that that guy's a great
dude to play with. So I never would ever put ant in that category, but there are times whether it's
maybe Jade and not Finland like he's in the offense, you know, Rudy mentioning not that long ago, like hey, we need to pass the ball a little bit more. What you get whenever anyone's ever saying that, that just means you want more passes. Is that something that frustrates the rest of the teammates when they feel like it's just a lot of turn taking between ant and brando, whatever one's playing? I do think that it's a point of consternation when it does
evolve into ISO ball with either Julius or ant just kind of monopolizing the entire possession. We've heard a lot of players talk all season long about the belief and I think it's the right belief that the wolves are at their best offensively. When the ball is moving side to side, when Dante'd even chenzo and Jade McDaniels and Nasrid are catching the ball in rhythm for catching shoot threes or kind of getting on the move and getting downhill and then getting ant
or Julius, their their touches and their options on the second or third touch of that possession
versus the first. And so when it's stagnates, you can feel teeth grinding across the floor,
All four or five of those positions.
especially is there clearly is a lack of trust in passing and really go bare the ball. Like that's just
the reality of the situation right now. And when you cannot, when you do not feel like you can utilize the big in the middle of your half-court sets to just use him as for DHOs, use him to get him at the rim, use him to catch and then and then kick out like the way that okay C does with heart and shine, like it's a really big obstacle to navigate around. And so, you know, Rudy is trying to prove to the guys that he is capable of catching and finishing and doing all those things, but that there's
been a lot of evidence that he's struggled in that area. And so you see, Jew is Randall and Ant look at him when he's open and then not pass him the ball. And because I think there's a little
“bit of a worry about trust, I think that's why Kyle Anderson is here. That's why I od assume you”
was had some success. Early as they will both at least pass it to Rudy and give him an opportunity when the ball is in Julius or Antsans, you can see defenses just physically ignoring Rudy because they don't think that they will maximize him or optimize him. And when they do, they just sometimes take the ball from him. So that's been something that they've got to work through and try and get Rudy you have playing a little cleaner in that area, which is a big ask. I have found it amusing that
I/O passes the Rudy and I can only conclude that he just hasn't played with enough to realize that hey, eventually you're not going to want to do this anymore. So like it's a nice thought, but that's Rudy's fault. I have no sympathy for Rudy whatsoever on it. And I would give Rudy
credit for this. Like even though they never want to pass to him, it's same thing happened with Mitchell
“and Utah. Like he still gets out there, screens all night long. And I think Rudy's defense is”
is even better. I think it's kind of like on an uptick from where it was last year. So I don't have a ton of sympathy for it. Like I/O had a spicy one to him last night. I mean right on top of him and he threw to him and won it was like what I couldn't believe he caught it. It wasn't a great pass considering how hard he threw it, how close he was to him. Yeah. But like I said, I give Rudy credit that he still stays incredibly engaged for a guy that's ignored
because people just don't trust him. And there's years of evidence that would prove you shouldn't trust him to throw him any kind of contested catch even if he looks like he's wide open. He just play small with the ball, which doesn't make any sense whatsoever. But then when Jane doesn't get the ball, that seems to impact everything else. So Rudy still plays D rebounds does everything that's asked of him. Jane feels like if some things aren't going for him earlier and he goes into like
what we think is the idea of a really nice 3nd player to I have no idea what he's doing in the bad games that I and I'm not going to spend more time on this than I already have because I kind of went out a little bit Monday. What can you tell us about like the fluctuation between what you get from him night in the night out? Yeah, I would say yeah, first just really quickly your point of
“Rudy is exactly right. And I think one of the things that I enjoy most about Rudy is when he”
doesn't play well or when he isn't rebounding, he's the first guy that stands up in the locker room says I got to be better and that he did it and then he had 19 rebounds against Phoenix. And so he is accountable even when he's not playing well and that's that's a redeeming quality in my eyes. With Jayden, we talked to him about it at shoot around before the Phoenix game and he did kind
of admit and Rudy admitted this as well that the problem is is that when the off when his offense
isn't locked in, when he isn't getting a lot of touches, that can trickle over to the defensive side of the ball. And then you see not just a lack of attention or anything, but even worse, you see him take frustration fouls that are just not wise at all. And then he puts himself in foul trouble and makes himself unavailable for long stretches of the game. And that is a maturity part about him that has to improve. Like against Phoenix, he was great. I mean, he torments Devon Booker,
he hates him with a passion and just wants to bring it all the time. And then he had 16 and seven, and I think four assists. And that's got to be the more consistent thing that you get from Jayden, because when you get that, now that's that's a team that can scare some people. But the fluctuations between really high level Jayden games and then games were, you know, he has one rebound and he's on the bench with foul trouble a lot. There, it's been too much here over the last month,
month and a half. And he's got to do a better job of making himself available in the offense.
When the offense isn't coming, still just locking his jaw and and staying inv...
this team in general, let's the, the offense effect their defense to too high at a degree. And that's one of the reasons that they've, you've gone up and down. So wildly this season.
So on the ant injury front, when it says reevaluated, that's always a reminder to be like,
that just doesn't mean that he's going to be back. And so ant, I was looking at this one, he's 58 games, only 57 count towards the total for the awards. So if he misses, let's say through the end of the month, there's still a chance to be plays all that April that he qualifies. Do I have to, I mean, we might be talking about like a game right here.
“If he misses one extra game, then he's out. I don't know how much that matters to him. I think”
this should matter to a lot of guys. I'm fine with guys being like, hey, it's still like to be eligible for some of this stuff. Because it just looks cool years later when you're going through basketball, reference your like first team, second team, third team MVP voting and all that kind of stuff.
Maybe people think less of that than I do. But, you know, when you're trying to keep track of
like the history of the game and who the special players are, especially with the restriction of the 65 games thing. So I don't know, does that play into any kind of decision hearing? Yeah. I mean, I've talked to people about that. I do think it does play in a little bit. I do think Ant wants to be all NBA eligible. I think at the start of the season, he was thinking that this might be an MVP type of season. That's chip is sailed already. But from what I understand and what I believe is that
yes, he would like to get back to steligible to make all NBA. But the far greater kind of motivation is if he gets back and is eligible for all NBA. That means there's a, there's a few more games that he is eligible to play down the regular season. And then he helps his team kind of go for seeding. And that's the primary motivating factor for Anthony Edwards is he, he believes and he's right when he's on the court. They have a better chance of winning. And so he wants to be back out there
to help his team get into the top four, try and get home court advantage in the first round. Have a chance to go deep in the playoffs and him getting back sooner than later will help that just as much or more than it will help him get all NBA. Do you think it's, if they're playing the
“Lakers in the first round, are you just going to think about last year? Yeah, I have to. I have to, right?”
I mean, I've watched them in these first three games against the Lakers. It hasn't been good. I mean, they lasted the Lakers without LeBron and Luca at one point. And, and so there's been some certainly some worrisome things and Lucas playing unbelievable right now. So, so you worry about that. But
in the first round series, if they have a week to prepare, this is a team that always really benefits
from three or four practices to really hone in on the game plan. And then they come out with a better understanding. I think during the season, it's not the highest IQ basketball team. And so they're not always adhering to game plans. They don't pay attention to the details. And then you have them stubbing their toes the way that they have. But Chris Finch and his group get these guys ready for a first round series. And they always come out firing. And so, if they did get the Lakers,
even as well as the Lakers are playing, yes, I would feel good because I think there are some areas that they can exploit. And with that week of preparation to really get everyone locked in,
“I think it would work out well for them. Final thought on the expansion talk,”
there's arguments for the pelicans for the Memphis Grizzlies in Minnesota. It feels like the favor has been a soda to move to the eastern conference. Even if you went like lying down the middle of the country, you could make an argument for the positioning of the other cities. But then when you think about your closest trip to the West, I was looking at it again today. We started talking about miles. You know, so I was like, all right, I'm not going to write down a ton of
this stuff. How receptive do you think ownership, everyone would be with the organization of moving to the eastern conference at a couple of years? I mean, they would love it. They would love everything about it. They've, even before the new ownership came in, the old ownership was lobbying at him silver to give them a shot to get east in some sort of realignment. Fans here hate the 10 PM and 11 PM starts. That sometimes happened now, like, you know, with all the Western stuff. But
also you just look at the idea of playing Chicago, Milwaukee Detroit, Indiana, whatever that cluster of teams is is, you know, highly appealing to them. In terms of maybe establishing some sort of little more geographic rivalry like they have in the NFL. And so that would be ideal. And I do think that there's a lot of talk about whether it's short-sighted or not, having Anthony Edwards in the East for the NBA would be a good thing, just as a, you're just getting another star over to,
to the eastern side of things. And so the wolves absolutely would welcome it. The fans have been just
Clamoring for it.
Denver's your closest division. Yes, correct. Yes. Yes. It's crazy. Like, and, you know, there are one times on over. And so, you know, a lot of the minutes at, you know about Denver and the attractiveness of that market. There's a lot of Minnesota people that have moved there. So it's kind of a cool element when you get there and there's timber wolves fans. But it's just, it's entire,
it's insane how far they have to go for for any kind of rivalry. And, and the fans are always
belly aching about, you know, how late they got to stay up to watch these games on TV. If you can even find them on TV and, and all this stuff. So, from a purely geographic standpoint, yes, Memphis is more east than the wolves. But the way you can cluster teams in a realignment makes a lot of sense to the timber wolves to, to push them under the eastern side. I think everyone should check with Craig Kilburn first. If he's okay with it, then I'm okay with it. Absolutely. The ambassador

And the expansion talks have picked up and on the story from the athletic couple pieces up in the last 24 hours. It's Mike workin' off. Okay, so let's get into some of the headlining stuff
and then I have some other thoughts and theories. Why now? What was behind the momentum and maybe the strategy of this announcement? Yeah, you know, the one now is a good question because we've been I feel like at this point for about five years now, right? Like every, you know, back in 2022, Adam Silver was like, hey, once we get a media rights deal in a new CBA, then we'll move to expansion.
“And now here we are. Three years later, we moved to expansion. I think, you know,”
probably not to sound probably lame, but like the stars are just kind of aligning. They seem to be pretty clear down the path of NBA expansion, right? My colleague Joe Varan reported they can be taking bids at the end this month for teams there. And I think they want to see, basically, how much money they can get for teams in Vegas and Seattle and see if it'll be financially worth it. And the other, you know, the other part is if they want a team by a certain season,
let's say the 28, 29 season, you kind of have to start things now, you know, like they're asked to be a team in place by spring 27, essentially, on the timeline in the league,
because use for expansion franchises to get one in there and go from there. And Adam Silver's always
talking about, hey, we're going to look at it at some point. So here we are. Yeah, I like that you brought that up because I can only go, like I'm looking at expansion draft rules from over two decades ago. I'm looking at some of the other expansion stuff and the timelines that happen in the 90s of Vancouver and Toronto, but based on the announcement, like the city being awarded the franchise,
“like what number of months, like it feels like less than two years, but not far off, right?”
Yeah, I mean, I like to see what they do with, you know, say the NBA, but also like the W, right? It's essentially the NBA running that too and having essentially the same rules in place. And they've been about, you know, 18 to 24 months from when they name a franchise in the W to when it starts playing, Charlotte was about a year and a half when they put the bobcats there.
So that's about the win that they've always looked at from. We announced, say, there's a team
common here to when it actually starts playing. And so I think that's about the time they need for branding and all the other fun behind the scenes business stuff. Seattle's a no-brainer, why Vegas? That's a good question. I think there would be a good argument not to go to Vegas. I think it's because it's a large kind of international hub more than it is in American
City, right?
or falling a little bit over the last half decade, but also it's Vegas, you know, you sell a lot of
sweets. It's probably easier if and when you can build an arena there to sell a lot of sweets and sponsorships and people just want to be in Vegas and that can drive up the price and like I was talking to somebody the other day saying, hey, which team do you think would sell more and you think Seattle, huge city, lots of wealthy people there, lots of big corporations there, but you know, they thought Vegas just because of the international hub and the tourism and all the
people who just want to be associated with Vegas. I was looking at the NHL attendance numbers there. I had no idea that it was the number one attendance based on capacity. So the night's crush it, football is easy. You know, I don't even know if the NFL cares about attendance really any more. It doesn't matter. And when you have that limited number of games and I've been to the facility, it's terrific. It's easy. Get in, get out the whole deal, but you're not talking about sustaining
“the 40 plus home games that you have to talk about with hockey and basketball. The funny thing is”
I didn't even realize why I guess I did. I had no idea what's going on with the A's. I mean, you want to find a story that I've lost interest in and then had zero insight and whatsoever, and then I had to look at up again going, what the hell do they do when again with the A's and it's like, oh, it's still 2028 because how how odd that whole dynamic was. So it feels like Vegas after
years of like we can never do it, then hockey's just like we're going to do it because we'd love to
do expand. And I don't know. It's almost like somebody else had to like lead block on that. Then everybody other for every other sports league was just the common sense of like, yeah, we just kind of be in there. And I imagine like if you're in the sales side of things, it's a gold mine because you know that there's going to be all these other places that are partnered up with you or I imagine like the renewal of sales there is probably one of the easiest
markets to deal with just because the entire city is about entertainment. So I don't know if they'll do the same kind of numbers that hockey does but the hockey attendance with the nights is probably something that makes you feel a little bit better. Even if there's far more deserving markets,
if you go just street media market numbers and then population growth. Yeah, but I said the counter
argument to that is like if you're coming in as the fifth 15 in that market, you know, have you reached a saturation point? Like if the NBA came in because they were pretty early to gambling, they're pretty early to normalizing gambling. You know, if they came in, you know, end of last decade, early 20, 20s before, you know, the nights are huge now. You got an NFL team. Baseball is coming ases are there, right? Like you might be the 15 to enter the market. There's only so many,
there's only so many sweets to buy, right? Like if you're if you're a big corporation there, if you're someone a whale coming in to buy stuff and the sphere is there, that sells a lot of
“tickets. Like I think for a town that has so few, uh, so little population media market. Like you're”
really just depending on tourists and corporations spending a lot of money there. I don't know if being the last enter the market hasn't downside to. Yeah, totally fair. Yeah, I guess if you're the NBA, you're thinking okay, but we're like any of the leagues would be going okay, but when we get there, this is going to be a bigger deal. Um, but it's a lot. It's a lot to ask to sustain that many home games and sell it up. But maybe maybe just look at the nights and go,
hey, if they're able to do it beyond expectations. Like it's 102.5% capacity. Now, I also know as somebody that's been a few months and ticket sales back in the day that are all those tickets just sold because it's Vegas. Like I've had some nights behind the microphone where I'm announcing the tenants looking around and going, I don't think this numbers accurate, but um, look, even even if there's a little bit of like, hey, all these tickets are bought because of all the
relationships and everything else. He's on a night's game. It's an awesome crowd. It's an awesome atmosphere. So, so I'm not, I'm not suggesting they're rounding up in the way we were doing in minor league baseball. So, um, all right, the realignment of the teams. Is there anything that you feel comfortable saying like, hey, of all the options, this is the most likely one to balance out the conferences? You know, it seems like Minnesota would be a top-the-list to move it over both
for geographical purposes, but also maybe parody purposes, right? Like at some point, you move a half to kind of like make the conferences a little bit more even in Minnesota seems like a good one to throw over there. They'll, you know, by the time this happens, this is prime Anthony Edwards years, um, you know, Seattle and Las Vegas or, you know, could be big markets that come in. That could be good down the road. It seems like those, those would be good choices, but obviously New Orleans
“Memphis also makes sense. I think those are kind of like the three franchises that could be moving”
if there has to be someone to move. Have you talked to anyone about the, because I talked about
It in my open a little bit where I was like, I wonder if, because you'd have ...
front offices, more cut-throat ownership, you know, big money people, if they go like, why are we
only protecting eight players? Like, can't we protect nine? Like, I know we're probably too early. I was even asking some teams and they're like, what are you talking about? They're like, there's no
“direction on like any of this game planning, but then I think about like Sam Presty and Presty's”
probably sitting there being like, all right, let's have a meeting this morning. Let's, let's mock out a scenario here where we're thinking about expansion with all the different draft picks. Is there any insight that you've been able to get on any idea of what could be different? How much we change? Because I just, I think it's a massive assumption to be like, oh, they did this in 2004 with the Bobcats, so they'll do this again with these two teams. Well, that's kind of like the
interesting thing is about the timing, right? There are rules in the current CBA that explain exactly how expansion would work and how the salary cap would work, how a draft would work. I think it says specifically in the CBA, hey, this is going to work for an expansion draft exactly how it worked for Charlotte 23 years ago, which is when it was, you know, you got to protect eight players or something like that. It was eight players, right? And if you didn't, if you didn't have eight players
under contract, you still had to make one player, each team had to make at least one player available. That was unprotected. Yeah, so I mean, if they want, they can talk to the Union and see if they want to amend the CBA. But also, if you just wait a year, you know, both teams, both sides can opt out. You can have a new CBA in 2029 and you can rewrite the rules however you want. So that goes back to where you're saying, like, what's the urgency on this? You know, if you take
more time, you can kind of rewrite on all, rewrite the rules on all this stuff and maybe
“take a fresh approach, because right now, at least, the CBA says some of the stuff you have to”
do and, you know, for better or worse, you got to follow the rules. Yeah, and so if you go back to
that, what, like, limited cap, the first couple of years can't win the lottery. That is pretty interesting.
And now, granted, like anyone listening to this because the players have no say whatsoever and like, hey, can we expand or not? But of course, they would want to because we're talking about with two way contracts. We're talking about 36 new jobs for their union, which is not something you usually consider union and professional sports, but like, hey, look at our job growth. And so, yeah, look, that's all these extra rock spots. So clearly,
the players would be fully in favor of this. I just wonder if it felt like the Charlotte thing, and I'm not trying to make like something simple complicated, but if it was just a little too straightforward, and if the competitive juices later on, people would say like, hey, is there any way to tweak any of this stuff? But based on the timeline that you're talking about, the actual, I mean, that starts to get a little money there, though, like, with anyone
opt out of the CBA because they were mad about protection language and the expansion draft. I don't, that feels like a reach. Hey, listen, if you can pitch the players union, we're going to get you 36 new jobs, right? Everyone loves to be a jobs creator. The union would love 36 new jobs somehow. Like, you know, you make that pitch, maybe there's some trade officer we'll want to do it. You know, the salary captain only go to 66 and two thirds per set in
year one for an expansion team. Maybe you can move it up a little bit. It's all haggling at some point
“and what will someone's want to take? The only thing I was thinking about in that, okay,”
it's really nice. Like, say you sell the two teams for combined 15 billion, right? So we're talking
500 billion dollar check to each ownership group. Like, that's, that's, that's good work, you know, like, all right, but it's all math. It's all the math of like, okay, but if you plan on owning your team for 20 years, you're just kind of cutting into your share and so at all in the wash, like, is it really worth it? And maybe that was some of the pushback that we had years ago. They need 23 to 30 owners to vote for this to go through. Does that tell you anything? Like,
if this goes through, does it tell you anything, whether it's ownership turnover concerns about topping out the media rights market? And this would be an opinion from you. So I don't even necessarily want you to go reporter side on this, but I was trying to figure out this morning. Is this actually tell us anything about where they see the lead? Yeah. I mean, that's a great question. I think one it might, everyone just might think, okay, this helps our franchise valuations go higher, right?
The expectation has been for a while that at some point franchise values got to just stop going up in this up until the right way that they have seen. So maybe the next thing that can help push that further, the owners will take it. You're right. Some new owners might not want to do it, because they just want to get their full revenue share. Like, they just bought a team. Why do they want to dilute themselves right away? But the 2036, you know, media rights deal, the next, that's
going to be the next one. Maybe there's some fear that they won't get the same amount of money.
Maybe it'll be worth it for them because local media just dies in such a way ...
quick way to recoup all that money and huge expansion fees are the way to do that. There's so many
things that you can kind of like see if that accounts for it's hard to say one thing. But maybe really in the end, it just comes down to if this is something that Adam Silver wants, it just comes down to how much influence he's allowed to exert over the other owners and kind of push this through. He's been taken way more heat this year than probably ever before, but I also think that the job is that is the story arc of the job. Nobody likes the commissioner of any sports after
certain number of years. And for him to have maintained a level of popularity, just kind of like neutral popularity is pretty impressive in itself. Like any of the time somebody pitches about him, we'll rank all your favorite commissioners for me. It just doesn't. It's like being a principal.
“But I think because if you look at the job that Stern had to do versus the job that Silver had”
to do, this is where I have sympathy for Silver. Stern from the jump, he got to bully all of these
guys because yeah, sure they're rich in like the way you are rich when you own a team in the early 80s. But this is just a different game now with the people that Silver is in charge of one. He still works for these 30 owners, but he's supposed to kind of be in charge. It's like, do you really think that these people are going to be allowed? Like, we're going to allow them sells to be bullied. The way Stern could bully guys 40 years ago. So I understand like, hey,
Stern would ever let this happen. Stern would say, yeah, okay, fine. I would agree. Stern wouldn't let these things happen. But Stern, if he were the commissioner today with guys worth billions and billions making the money the way they made it, I don't know that that group of or today's group of owners would ever allow themselves to be bullied the way that Stern could just sort of get his way.
“Like, Stern felt like he was in charge. And if you want to say Silver feels like he's not as in charge,”
I don't know that it's even feasible for anyone to be in charge of today's money the way Stern could be back then. Yeah, I know what you're saying. I mean, I look, the owners are all richer. They're now multi-billionaires, right? They're wealthier in a way that the older ones more. But I feel like there's more unanimity amongst the owners and doing what Adam wants to do. You know, you don't get a lot of owners pushing back. It seems like privately or publicly.
Obviously James Dolan is one, right? He's a wild card. He seems to vote against everything the NBA wants to do. But who else is out there? No squabble with themselves. Maybe those squabble like if it's managed to be internally. But nobody's really like pushing back against whatever Adam's throwing out there. It seems like he's getting a wide range to just run the leak. And so for good or bad, just stuff that's happened like that he wants to push through.
It seems like he's doing like all of a sudden he wants to fix tanking. Even though Ryan Smith is out there saying, hey, we don't deserve this fine. And you know, other owners are saying something else. And he's like, get on a call with some GMs. And he's like, we're going to fix it. You guys are going to do it and listen. And that's speaking to the owners too, right? They got to vote and approve all this stuff. Change into player participation policy and all that stuff that
preceded the media right to. I think he's getting a wide birth to do what he wants. And so he's not yelling at people and laughing people like David Stern was and what he could pull away with. But I think he's just doing it with, you know, a velvet hammer or whatever that expression is. He's just doing his own way. Consensus building, right? That's the corporate term. But he's, I don't know, he's
pretty, he's pretty powerful and influential. I thought it was really interesting when he said,
“you know, we don't have to do two teams. That's what I've been asking about. Can it be one?”
I don't think it, one, I don't think any of his, maybe we're just simple tens with math, but it's like, doesn't really make a ton of sense. But the way he says, okay, we did one before. I felt like that was uh, don't assume anything to Seattle and Vegas move. Like, don't think you're getting a discount. Don't think we wouldn't do something else. That felt very, it was very passive aggressive. It was smart, but I felt like it was a tactic to maximize value,
which is exactly what he should be doing. Yeah, listen, as a, I now consider myself kind of like an Adam Silver Cremontologist. I read through everything he says and I take him literally and seriously, he doesn't just say stuff to say stuff. You know, like, so if he says, you know, doesn't mean we have to do two teams. I take him at his word because there's been plenty of examples in the past where he says stuff and it is like, I thought, you know, maybe the NBA would relocate. You heard all these
rumbling stuff. Nashville and whatever. He came out unequivocally. No relocation. He said that in February and so it's like, okay, well, it seems like relocation's off the table then. Yeah, I guess I guess we look what else do we have to go on? But I think it's exciting, you know,
I think it's one of those headlines instead of like everybody going, well, he...
up. Like every, every person that's on TV or writing a column, it's like, hey, they just announced
something like really good. Like this Seattle things, one of the worst things that's happened in American sports as far as taking that franchise away from that city. That's an awful thing. And now look, if you say it took too long, whatever, it's going to be fixed. Vegas feels like the natural
“movement. Like I think these are good things and good things for the league. So it's kind of nice”
sometimes when you get a headline, you're like, I don't know that I can spend a ton of time getting really mad about this. So it feels pretty rare. Check out my work and off stuff on the athletic he's got two pieces up as I mentioned on NBA expansion. Thanks a ton today. Yeah, thanks for having me there. Be more to come. draft Kings sportsbook predictions or daily fantasy sports. It is Carlos Booser. It's great to catch
up with him again. He's always been a fun guest, but we've never done this before. Talk about his

They're working on a super app. So everybody, all the consumers out there can enjoy great experience on one location and I wouldn't go that out there for everybody. And again, bet responsibly, guys, and go to draft Kings. Okay. Look at that company guy. It's good. He's had it locked in. I love seeing the fits. I love seeing you on TV at the games. I'm sure you've thought
“about this season for a long time, but how has it been for you to see your guys out there?”
Madness, I could dream come true for me. I get the chills so many different times throughout the season. Just watch it. My kids, you were the same uniform. I worked 25 years ago. I'm in playing so well. You know, I know how hard they work to get to this point. And again, you know, for me and mom and the family, it could be the last time our kids played together. So not knowing how the next level, what happens at the NBA level. So we want to be at every game. We can be at
supporting and cheering them on and enjoying this journey together as a family. What did you say to yourself, you know, as a father of like, hey, this is, it's one thing to be like, I want them to play this way. I want them to play this way. I want them to play this way. But like knowing that you went through this, like, what was one of the things that was trying to guide you as you raise these boys? I think the biggest thing for me was the message to them was just to stand the moment.
You know, being the moment, be with your fear. You know, I think a lot of times you as an athlete, us as an athlete, we've looked so far ahead or we, we look back so many times or we look forward to the next thing. And we don't celebrate some of the small victories along the way. And I think my biggest thing to my kids was just enjoy, enjoy being a college kid, enjoy being at practice, enjoy being responsible for yourself without mom and dad around, you know, enjoy these moments
because once they're gone, they're gone. You know, you can't, you can't really go back. So they're either right now, like there's so much noise outside of March Manus about the draft and are you coming back to school and just focus on what's right in front of you. Go to practice, go to class, go enjoy, you know, lunch, which a girl, whatever it is. And we'll deal with everything else as it comes along. But the biggest message for me to my kids is enjoy the moment and be with your feet are.
What was it because I remember like the first time I heard about it, they might have been like
14, 15 years old. So what I mean, what was that like knowing? Okay, this is going to be a thing. I mean, who knows? I mean, I think ultimately, I didn't know how big it was going to go how fast, but, you know, it's crazy how as the kids were like, like you said, like 14 and 15, how they got like NBA level coverage. It was like they went viral every time they played a game. That's all over social media. And I was like, whoa, this is a much different era than I grew up in.
Nobody even knew I had 40 points tonight.
nowadays with the covers that they have, every game is being streamed, every game is on sports center or ESPN or what have you. It was a lot. And our biggest thing as a parent is to just protect them from, you know, all the negative stuff that could come. But there was so much positivity. The kids got better. The light bulb went off. They sort of figuring it out. They work out daily. They really put
“everything they had into the game that they love. And they're reaping their rewards at that, you know?”
How old was I, I mean, I'm guessing because I don't want to just assume that can beat you
first one on one, but maybe I'm wrong. So who beat you first and how old were they?
No, no, no, you got it wrong. I retired undefeated. That's when I, once I realized that they were moving fast and they had all these tricks with the ball, then these James Harden sidestep threes, and now I was like, no, no, no, no, I'm out of the game. So I retired undefeated about when they were like 14, 15, 16, right around there. Were you as upset as me when you were like, wait, that's a, that was a travel when I played. I don't know what happened. Right. Up to, I mean, it's, it's interesting how the
game is evolved. And now they have this thing called the gather, the gather, right? So now you can make a dribble and why the ball's floating in the air on the palm of your hand, as long as your hand is this way, you can make as many steps as you want, and that's considered a gather. But when I played, you basically had two and a half steps, and that's all you got. What are you going to do? All right. All right. So you're not going to get, you're not going to
give me the answer on, I, I, I love that you because like whenever I'm watching a draft prospect, I just think of like, like when I watched Knipple last year, and then it his dad didn't have the NBA career that that you did, but then I started researching the family. It's like his mom had 2000 points, his dad had 2000 points, his uncle, and all this stuff, and it's like, you can just
“see the kids that grew up with a dad just beating up on them in the driving way, because you have to”
figure out, like it almost prepares you for basketball in a way where it's like, I need to figure out the tricks. Well, then I'll see some other kid in high school where I go, all right. He's so physically dominant, but he's relying on the physical dominance, because it's gotten him through junior high. It's got him through high school, and now that he has to go to some other move, it's not there,
because he never needed to develop it. And I always feel like having, especially somebody at
your size, it, it gets in the head of the player at a very young age that I have to figure out other things that are going to work. And I think it just prepares them for that higher level of competition. Well, it's a great point. I mean, my kids have been around the game their whole life. You know, whether it was in the locker room when I was with the jazz, and, you know, seeing Darren Williams, a Paul Mill sap, an MMO current, AK47, those guys are beating Chicago with D-Rose and Joaquinoa,
and Ty's Gibson in a while. Dang, they've been around basketball so much. They have a chance to work out and play against guys like Jimmy Butler. And even now, when they were in high school, they're working out with BAM out of bio and Tyler Hero and all these different guys from the NBA, and the summertime when they will come home to Miami. So they've been around the game and had a chance to play against some of the pros and learn how to use their bodies and make other
moves and have counter moves and and to figure it out, you know. What did it mean to you, because, you know, look, with the draft and all the excitement and player of the year for Cameron here, you know, it, it probably is, I imagine throughout the childhood, maybe it was, it was tougher for Caden. So what does it meant for you to see him, you know, he plays 40 minutes against UVA, 16 points, a huge part of what they're doing. There's going to be a lot to ask to him now, especially with the injuries.
Yeah, I'm so proud of a man like he's, he's had to make such an adjustment this year as a freshman
coming off the bench. He's never come off the bench a day in his life and did a hell of a job being a
star and his role as a six man. And then we lose Caleb Foster, breaks his foot and on senior night, Caleb has been such a great leader for this group. He's our most experienced guy, been to the lead eight two years ago, went to the final four last year and it's been such an advocate for our, our guys and our group and leaving those guys. Even now, you see him on the sideline, hobbling on one with a boot and just sharing his guys on. And so he goes down, Caden has
to step up and, and man has he, he's stepped into the role, he's grown all year long, got better and
“better every, every game and, and with the experience and, remember, these kids are still 18 years old,”
going against like 24 year old guys and college basketball and played huge in the semi final and was literally carrying us in the first half of that championship game against Virginia and did a hell of a job just managing the fort holding it down, getting our sets playing great defense, played the whole game, didn't complain about it. What excited to be out there and they's up for the challenge of the NCAA tournament. How did you have to man, I don't want to assume anything
Here, but like, how did you have to manage one son getting more of the pub an...
expectations and having this incredible freshman season against, you know, the other kid who's like,
“that's his brother. So, you know, some people would handle it. Great. Some people would have a hard time with it.”
Now, Caden was terrific, man. We, we roofed our, we roofed our camp. We chair him on. We, we, we know he's had a phenomenal year and, and obviously Caden knows better than anybody else because in the locker room all the time, at practice when all the time, getting their shots when I'm late at night, they just been sharing each other on. And they're, they're both on their own individual journeys, even though they're on this, this ride together, and they support each other, they love each other,
and they roofed each other. So, it's, it's been pretty seamless for us. Oh, the recruiting process. Did anyone have a chance? Oh, of course. You know, of course, I think, really, the biggest thing, yeah, the biggest thing for me, that I told the boys was, you know, Duke was the right place for me 25 years ago. You got to, you got to figure out what the best place for you guys is, and even if that meant
they went their separate ways, and maybe there was a place that was better for Caden, there was a place that was better for Cam, but they decided on their own that they wanted to choose to play together in college, and they chose Duke, and that obviously I was super proud about that, but, you know, I wanted to stay as much away from the recruiting process as I could, because I didn't want schools recruiting me as the dad. I'm not going to be the one there at 6am.
I'm not going to be the, get ready to work out. I'm not going to be the one there at 2 in the
“morning, get ready to study for an exam. They are. So you have to recruit my kids and see what you”
have going on fits what they want to do for their careers, and I can't tell you how happy I love when they chose Duke, but it was their choice, and it was a process, and they went through all the schools and talked to all the coaches and decided that John Shire and Duke basketball was where they wanted to be. I have to imagine, you know, maybe you don't want to get too deep into a, but like, in the process, I can just imagine being a recruiter at a big time school,
being like, I don't know if you have a chance. It's like, well, we can't bullshit the dad. Like, you just, most of the tactics are just not going to work against this group. Right. And then, and obviously, and mom too, because mom was with me since I was a freshman at Duke. So she's seen all of all the stuff too. So you can't, you can't, you can't bullshit a group best been around the game in their entire life. And so they, they were straight, everybody was a straight
shooter, and the boy decided to pick who they wanted to pick? The anticipation for the draft. I look, maybe you're like, hey, we get a tournament in front of us here, but I got to do it because, I mean, he's in the conversation for the number one pick. So when you, when you think about that night, right, when you think about that moment, do you even let yourself go there right now? I, it's, it's, it's close, but it's far away. You know,
we, like I told my kids to be with their feet are, we have to exercise the same caution, be where our feet are like right now. We're focused on Sienna. We play them on Thursday. We're worried about the draft when the draft gets here. But for right now, we're locked on the inside by a tournament. But don't worry. You can call me. I'll come back on the show over the summer. We can talk about it all, but, and June, don't worry.
All right. Yeah. Let's, let's do that. Let's, let's have you on the floor. Because I,
I don't know if we're going to have a Peyton Manning first family of basketball situation here.
The best part about Cameron is when you watch him, you just realize he will, he will adapt to what is needed from him. You know, he will, even as a young player, he's going to step in and I, just see him being a benefit to so many different teams. Because he's just so good with the ball and the decisions. And it's like, I don't need to just comment and take 20 shots. I can do all of these other things. So I imagine there's, you know, look, I don't know how it's going to play out,
too. We're months away from this whole thing. But if there's just something that's so safe about the baseline of a player, it's like no matter who the other four guys are around him, he's going to figure it out. Yeah. He's a student of the game. Kid loves to study the game and watch the game and figure out ways to win. But that's all he cares about. He wants to be known as a winner. And that's Cameron Boozer.
“Well, look, enjoy the turn. Are you making it out to all the games?”
Every single one of them. I ain't going to miss no games. Yeah. You coming? Oh man. If I go to one game that I can't see the other ones and I get stuff. I get stuff going on. But yeah, look, I, I just can't tell you how many times that I'm watching do games and I see you
in the family there. How happy I am for you. Because it's going to be such an incredible,
like it's one thing to have the career you had. But then to see them where in that uniform, as you mentioned, 25 years ago, I can't wait. I can't wait for the tournament and I hope it's everything you hope it is for the guys. All right. I appreciate it. Thanks for having me on, Man. It's been a fun
Ride.

“I think I got to give Seru the floor because he texted me cowherds bracket that he posted”
and he's losing his shit. Like he can't. I'm not saying Seru is having a bad show but he's just too distracted by the community of all these private data. Multiple times and if you know it's one of those things for everybody to reach out there bracket you can kind of miss it and I but the only reason I looked at it was because I couldn't really read who he picked you know like I- so he don't know. He was right now. I don't know. I think it's Michigan but if you
go to his Twitter page like it's a handwritten bracket which I do respect like I get the handwritten bracket thing. I kind of missed that. I don't know if you would anymore. I don't have a staples or anything near me so fairly it's like within a reasonable distance so you know you just got to do it online. It's not as fun. I'll be honest. So I I appreciate the handwritten bracket but I looked at it because you know I was like I don't even know who he picked and then I start reading the tweet and he's
said there's just a million interesting nuggets in there. He goes I always state is my sleeper.
I always state's a two seed. What definition of sleeper has gotten real loose apparently. He does have accurate winning multiple games but then the best part about it is he had Michigan state in the final four but he has them losing to you cotton the elite. That's hard to do. It's tough. Yeah so I don't know how to speak to their their ability to bounce back. Or is it an early getting like ejected or I don't know who knows. You kind of get ticked out
it's herner maybe it's like a big brain thing I don't know but incredible stuff and it is all that good. Yeah. That he could lose and it still advance. He'd be the only guy that could do it. Yeah.
“I don't know and look how or two you're like is it a bit is it not I don't know that it is. I think he just you know”
Ryan from the hip. Good for him. So he was dying today. He's dying because I saw the eye. I was state thing for us. I was like well they're two seed so it's not like he's he's picking USF to go all the way you know to like get to original finals and then he's the reason he's like no no no. He goes it's not about eye or state. Dive or distract goes deeper. Yeah. You're distracted by the caption. I love cowards so I don't want to be.
Me too. This is nope. Yeah. But I don't against you. Why send him a text? Do I go hey are you what's going on? I think he sneaky likes this. I think he likes the uh throw it out there good for the brand you know get some people talk. Yeah. We're talking about them with the show so there you go. We're gonna have him back up it's been a while. I just thought about it the last time was the last time when we did that your house? No we did to really house. Wow. Yeah.
“That has been a while. Although shit they asked me to come on and I think I blew them off.”
So you could be tipped maybe an attention is going to be high between both shows that relationship. Yeah. You know I'm going to text his producers today and say hey I want to come on to talk basketball soon. I'll just sort of get out of front of that. Yeah. It's great. So but then maybe I'll have to ask him to like dude how's your bracket doing? Do you think there's probably people like in his neighborhood some guy that doesn't watch any
basketball that's like hey can I have your bracket and cowherts like man. Yeah. And look cowhert is one of the good guys. All right. And so cowhert be like yeah here you go and there's some guy that doesn't understand it. It's maybe copying this and he's submitting it. It was office pool. Maybe maybe I should just got a new nickname. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Counter-shaped state Mike. There's so many different years. Like what's your favorite cowhert story? Go ahead. Well he he kind of like made the twilight
thing famous. Um I think that was originally a Gottlieb thing but he did kind of like blow it up a little bit which was nice. Do you know what we're going to show? Who? Gottlieb or cowhert? Oh yeah a bunch
Times filling in.
No. That was not. That was not. That was a tough one. I think he liked me. I think yeah he's famously
“like probably didn't remember a ton of people but I think I worked on enough where he did like”
me. And I don't I think I think part of him like bringing up a twilight thing on the show was because I think he did like me. So if he didn't like me probably wouldn't talk about me. But no my one of my favorite I don't think cowhert in his entire ESP. At least when I was there I don't think he knew the password to his computer. His producer had it. That's 100% true. Yep so he'd just sit down producer log him in and then he'd go at himself. Every time that's good. He also was a famous
and we've told this a 4 million times but one by out of a donut put it back down on the you know on desk it's like okay one bite. That's a tough step to have. That's not good. There was a guy that was like our ops guy and he was like hey what do you know about him? I'm like he's great. He's a great
“guy and I was like again he's he's like a good dude and if you're friends with them he's he's a real friend.”
So I don't have a batboard to say about him and he was like oh you guys I brought him to launch with me and my seven year old son and he just unprompted started eating french fries off my son's
play dipping him in the ketchup and my kid was like messed up for days. He's like I've never seen
anyone ever do that. Like what adult reaches over and I go you know what if you if you like them and you get to know him it's in derrient. Stanford's the abuse to just like tell him stuff right in the hallway and then coward would just do it on the air like the next segment. That's awesome. God is that make me laugh because I know he'd be like I just told him that UNC's gonna he's like turn turn on screen four and then but the thing is he turned into a segment it'd be a heater for segment.
Now Colin is incredible at like I would say they'd have nothing. He could have absolutely nothing a blank piece of paper and they'd be like you ever wonder why and then it would work you give you eight good minutes. Yeah. He'll get your thinking. Now this is a pro coward. This is I'm only say he probably doesn't remember me but pro coward podcast no slander I just found that absolutely hilarious. I remember when you were in limbo I was like hey well you just hire him so he knew who you were
but they had a pretty packed staff he's like you know we're up to 15 people over here and then my favorite part about serruti is they everyone after the fact regretted I don't know I should have just I was pimping you out I was like trying to get you hired all these places and up where I need to be it all is that nice everybody feels good. Kyle don't feel left out because guess what I'm oh no I saw it I was waiting for you to throw the logo if that's awesome. That makes me feel great.
“Chopsticks yes it is. This is next to Dunder Mifflin where's this located?”
All right all right now we're losing steam. Wait so what is it what is it? Kyle set me Kyle Kyle asked my address mail to me again when a man mail's another man things it fucking mean it's real and he set me free shirts from the great it keeps the area I believe. So that's right on me. It's right on Main Street it's great German fair a lot of a couple different Broward Boygan
Perrogans I'm not sure if that's Jerban but it seems like instead of that ill. Oh yeah always have a
place in yeah the the one thing I would say is it's constantly rotating what they got up there on the big board and I'm just getting a lot of dildes before I find which one I'm roll with but other than it's exciting to try to figure it out they let you have the little little flights to try but yeah it's like it's like a fun game check it out of Main Street okay thanks for wearing what's your but who's your German buddy was it Hans? Yes. Yes second six years yes I got to think yes it's like
40 something though yeah I never looked up any the Javelin numbers internationally yeah I probably maybe there's some local meats that he did well in German you know I don't know if he was I doubt he was in Olympics the numbers just or against him not to shoot on anyone's dreams but what do you think he would pick it's a frupper for his bet they've been it probably Illinois yeah that's great please a minute what just 10 minutes in the alliance I was just wondering
if we were gonna do best that's all that's good producing right there that's not to do yeah that's good producing no that was actually really funny because I thought that's what you and I was like
We see shooting on us because we're 10 minutes in and we still haven't done t...
alright so let's the board's yours Kyle? Why don't you go first because I'm gonna take you
Illinois perfect yeah so what first off I want to just quickly recap we have to talk about last week sorry I'm not know what's your fault both Ryan and I lost which is fine you know what colors not
“I don't think he's German though you guys no I think they're all like Croatian they're like they're like”
Baltic aren't they right but Wagler is not German I could see it right think with the name yeah but you know they're all they're close you know it's European I like the Euro team anyway uh Ryan I lost last week but Kyle did pick up his first push anti push Kyle did get a push last week because he had calcburner five rebounds and calcburner didn't play didn't play but wasn't injured so I don't know if that I'll take a push I'll take a push I think honor dictates after everything I've said I shouldn't
get him I'm happy to give you a push but you guys so anti push all season long that I have like I've got to ask you for this so I shouldn't be able to have it one ways but you guys decide anyway I'll be done with the Cockburner Betts by promise well it's marked down as a push all right all right anyway my pick is going to be so we're doing college basketball by the way obviously tournament Thursday games only I am going to take Illinois and Penn over 150 and a half both
these teams score Penn has like a former five star guy and if you guys have been keeping up with that
“name's TJ power and both teams getting up and down I don't I think Illinois is going to be my team”
because you know I'm kind of like Euro Steve so and also our girl's mom went there but I'm going to take the over this game it could be fun nice don't count out the the Ivy League winner
they're always always interesting I really liked how much Eman believed sort of quietly in Michigan
state so I wanted to pick somebody I wanted to take the spread of one of these teams that wasn't favored by like 25 so I think this is 16 and half I'll take Michigan State 16 and a half for round one North Dakota state yeah yeah all right the SEC decline continues give me Santa Clara plus three and a half Santa Clara we tried to pick in the bracket busters thing and they're on the board for a while right we tried to pick out just like there was still like
two teams where I felt like we were getting some value there and then it just but let's go Queens yeah not that Queens Queens North Carolina which apparently they're not going to be as what would you think I said no I'm just saying I'm doing it for people that are confused if you don't know yeah I walked in yeah they're not Queens New York it's Queens they're in Charlotte and I think they're they're like combining with Elon next year so they're going to be one school
so there's might be lots of sports somebody reached out yeah good enough well there are teams so if they be produced and I guess we have a chance to win the bracket busters thing but
either way our planet that would be credible yeah because we like the third of the last pick
I think Dave actually had the last pick which is hysterical he was on the same for 45 minutes but he was I think so yeah I didn't realize if you get an earlier pick you just get out and it was before we were taping the show so I like post 30 minutes I was starting to go like when's this going to I was watching your face see if you're going to give a hand to anyone that you were over it but I thought you did a good job well there's like 50 something people on it so it's
“like the worst thing you can do is start talking like big cat talk the entire time because he was kind”
of like him seeing the whole thing right he had grown so that it's like if you're trying to just fire off one line or it's the whole time we're going to be here all day for the most part pretty pretty fishing group but it just yeah look it takes a long time but that's that's March yeah yeah all right and when I pan over 150 and a half Michigan State minus 16 and a half and Santa Clara plus three and a half against Kentucky I get you plus 600 boys let's do it plus 600 wow it's exciting can't wait
I haven't even come on my property yet I'm going to do it tonight so maybe I'll all text the Rudy and Kyle my final four because I'm sure everyone cares about that we're going to do a social video about it so don't worry about it oh we are yep all right sounds good you want details bye I drive a Ferrari 355 cabbie LA what's up I have a ridiculous house in the south fork I have every toy you can possibly imagine I'm best of all kids I am liquid so now you know
what's possible let me tell you what's required okay we'll get right to life advice because we're we're going to do it in front of the alliance life advice [email protected] all right yeah we did a lot of stuff though shut up yeah let's see here we've got a woman checking in because we had so many different people that were on the guys case about the cheer lady I don't know that's her words in the subject not mine so anyway here here we go we love in the women reach out my husband's a big
fan of the show I typically don't listen with him but I've enjoyed the travel episode so he gives me a synopsis of almost every life advice segment and ask my thoughts he could's really excited
When I share something similar what was mentioned saying things like no way t...
said he does this thing where he drinks a big gulp of water then says I am liquid I guess it's
“related to your podcast yeah this guy's gonna buy a shirt once we launched him we were talking”
about a situation where our guy has to go to his wife's sure of him and my husband convinced me to write an email since it's somewhat relates to us to be honest I don't know why I'm doing this I also don't really understand the Jim stats thing but I'm five nine a former D1 Roar still very active my player cop is Mallory Pew since she's one of my favorite athletes except my husband was a bullpen catcher in college not starting short stop at Chicago cops also taller than my
husband which is a fact he likes more than I do and it's something he's proud of for some reason this guy sounds like a really grounded dude yeah he's been on because he's closer to earth but
he's well that he's she's five not and he loves that she's taller you know
not everyone can handle that I don't know that I I could but I was a high school rowing coach for five years most of but before we got engaged we usually had six eight regardless per year that was anywhere from a three hour drive to a ten hour drive from our home some of these included regional's national events you actually had a qualify for not just show up and be the tap off being the tap it's pronounced top half of the competition
right I do admit regardless not the most fun events you're outside all day for full weekend often so far whether it can barely see the athletes growing since the shores usually pretty far from the course which is either two thousand or five thousand meters long yeah I can imagine like there they go it's a good start exciting that's like I know it's about that with like people us the tour to France like what do you like how does that work pick a corner right or like uh
I don't know the inside of it though the drones have really gone away but I guess you could say the same thing for golf right like you could move around and golf I guess theoretically but you kind of got some people just pick a hole and they watch like I went to the US open whenever it was in
“Marion 2016 I just sat on the 18th and it was awesome that's how my list of things added to the list”
yeah I can see she sold me on the idea like regardless always seemed cool or movies but going to it
I don't know I imagine it's just you bring sandwiches and booze but given this context my husband when he was my boyfriend attended about three quarters of the events were currently in our late 20s so he could uh so he would often explore the town we were in spend time with my family or parents the kids check out restaurants where we sometimes play golf and addition of watching growing and supporting me at the workout is more importantly you try really hard to learn about invest in the team
he knew nothing about rolling before we met but he did his best to understand strategy technique and the nuances of the sport for example he asked about how specific kids were doing if there are any lineup changes and what adjustments I was trying to make in my coaching in my opinion him carrying about something deeply important to me was more valuable than coming to any event well sounds like he also got some golf in too while he went to these I just don't know
can our guy go to the Orlando mega cheer event and be like hey I can get 36 in and I'll try to
“make it for the final routine I don't know that I think she wants in there cheering”
I don't know if Glitter's been brought up but that may be where he draw the line in return I've tried to learn more about his favorite sport of baseball and also rupers favorite teams he loves the cups bears Mizzou which is not the easiest group of teams to rupour but I'm a jacks fan so I've sat some practice watching disappointing sports I've gone to many games of them which includes college minor league independent league and MLB
games this guy loves fucking baseball and I've learned a lot about the rule strategies teams and players so I think the other random guy needs to go to the cheer event although he does have to act like he cares but it can be hard to invest in something your partner enjoys if it feels like that level of interest and commitment is not reciprocated if you read this my husband will lose his mind hunting if you're driving please go the speed limit I gotta tell you the headline
of that email I thought was going to hit a little harder well written sounds like you guys have a beautiful relationship maybe there's a lesson in there but when it's said cheer ladies wrong I don't know you're hoping for a little more yeah you're not congrats to you guys but I do you guys are firing on all pistons yeah cylinders whenever that thing is okay let's try this one 24-year-old male most of the time we can figure it out
guys we need to start adding that five eleven one seventy five pickup comp Alex Coruso with more hair and no bag how about Coruso's night last night do you guys see didn't love the shoe yeah you know there you're talking about yeah I mean you're going up against your magic who responded quite
Lost the game but I thought Palo was fantastic last night so Coruso loses a s...
swipes down at Silva on a drive with the shoe gets a technical kind of silly but then he
got a five second call where he just gave up he just threw the ball to the left it was like I
am not going to even bound this and just didn't even like he could have just thrown it up in the air
“it wasn't the most important possession of the game but he just I don't know that I've ever seen”
that I tell you if it's Jim if Jim aged it that right if harden the space line was like I fucking tossing to something inside take the I may have some thoughts but if I'll tell you if Jim does do it I'm not going to say anything you know it's Coruso just did it it's important that you check yourself you know you got it you got to be your own biggest critic and I you know I respect that about you thank you for the
respect fact of the email um I can get lateral a defense and maybe drive with my one move I'm
happy to swing the rock and keep coach happy and feed my guys no real Jim stats but I'm a climber I can do 15 to 20 clean pull-ups rep about five with 90 pounds added yeah that's crazy by the way I thought I could do 18 clean I'm not getting deep enough for those to qualify so I liked it struck in the record nobody I had a single 135 pound weighted rep a few weeks ago so this guy tapped 135 pounds to his early 175 pound frame and did a rep pull-ups take it easy on the steel
bro I don't know my true mile PR either but I ran a 552 a few months ago while thinking about work on absolutely my family is Mike the whole show yeah missed that guy I used to be sneaky slow
“but I think I broke it in the sneaky fast realm all right well thanks for all the background”
anyway I need comedic help from some of the best email readers around over the past two or three years I've been a look alike comp I've been look alike comp to the same person Alex Honel probably 23 times by different people damn that's all I had to find your climber too wow
yeah usually climbers but not always well yeah I mean you're in the fucking worst
hobby activity if you wanted to avoid this right sir do they look alike or are they all just wearing like patagonia head to toe because that's you know you can kind of disguise yourself a little bit also is it just your climbing buddies who like maybe their heads in that space already is it like you know you're at the grocery store and the guy's like you know what you look like the free solo guy I'm just wondering if maybe it's you have a specific group of buddies that
that this is coming up and I'm not sure if Alex this is not just respect it the emailer or Alex but like he is like the generic run of the milk white guy too so like like yeah you know doesn't sound respectful why yeah yeah we're you know I get sometimes I get that too although you know oh what you're too good looking no sometimes I get the you know I'll get the like our you know the vaguely Mediterranean thing I like to call myself vaguely Mediterranean you know
Kyle I think his features are too dark to be considered just run of the mill would you agree with that to Rudy oh yeah I don't even know why I'm saying this stuff yeah this is probably you can't know I just took it I just took another look at him today this is probably it's good looking guy I don't think this is I don't know if it's just dawning on me now but I don't know
“doing the hair thing again so we'll see where that goes maybe that's what it is maybe that's a little”
was that the Gavin Newsom a little bit wow no no that's like it's like a thin comb all the way back isn't it yeah I don't know what's going on anyway yeah I mean if you're in the climate community like I don't I mean this guy's not old enough to have a daughter this like can you not wear that hat out again but for those who don't know Alexander this probably the most famous climbers ever lived he's also a 40 year old man so our guy's 24 probably doesn't necessarily love
that although Arnold could probably pass for 17 still he's a baby I was kind of shocked when you said that yeah yeah I know wait I can be a little socially awkward well I think Alex would admit he too has that struggle from time to time especially when people commented my parents so even though I've heard this repeatedly I still default to something like oh yeah I get that a lot ha ha I'm trying to change the topic one time someone started with the classic Haiti know he looked like
and I finished the sentence for them just to see what happens this somehow made it worse because now it looked like I've been waiting my whole life for someone to notice for additional context maybe I just have a very default character face and college I used to get stopped all the time once even flagged down while skating the class just to be told I looked like David Dobrik which I like
Significantly less considering he's a douche and not exactly a top tier hands...
that's what Dobrik is what he was like a I think maybe you would call him an annoying youtuber
I would say I think people a lot of first to market yeah I think a lot of his base had aged out
and we're like you know you look back here like what the hell was that so I don't know but that's my understanding since then I've lost about 30 pounds gotten a better shape and finally figured out my style a little bit but still haven't figured out what to say the last time someone said I tried yeah it's probably my monkey years and quote I think it worked well but I don't know I obviously didn't think this is a big problem but I definitely think about these past interactions
more than anyone else you definitely do because they don't have any of you in the head and you're ahead it's weird that it makes me this is a comfortable I know everyone gets the liberty cops are time to time but getting the same one repeatedly just feels strange how would you feel of everyone constantly told you that you look like yo-kitch actually writing that out it might be pretty sick or look like yo-kitch a lot I don't I don't know I mean it gets what
to me know it have here I guess I take that so guys help me out give me some good pre-loaded clips I can keep holster for the next time someone inevitably asks if I know who I look like because right now my entire strategy is panicking and saying hi yeah like a malfunctioning robot thanks pictures attached for reference I don't think the pictures went through okay the pictures did not go through buddy all right it's kind of important but we know we know what
Donald looks like so yeah I mean he's not an ugly guy so it's not like I don't I don't I don't know why it would be such a a dis we've had a I mean shit on this pod like everyone thinks Kyle looks like Luca yeah but it's like Luca if got dot dot and that's not the coolest part of that thing but still all good yeah but it's okay all right yeah that's the just that's the direction
“could you have like a cool like could you just be like one one like free solo baby that's what you”
say I don't know if that's if that's cool but if there's something like you could say like the climbing thinking yeah it's just like you're gonna walk through away free solo baby all right what else don't have anything else I don't know why I guess I don't understand why it's why so upset about it's it isn't like a he just annoyed that people keep coming up to him and saying this like it's I don't think he knows where the interaction goes after that and that's what he doesn't have to
well it seems like for him it does seems like he's walking away being like damn he screwed that up again so so he wants like you're said okay that's so you're like hey I'll give him like a catchphrase every time
somebody says this and that could be like the funny yeah I basically just maybe Luca I just say he looks like
me a molder and that's not cool or funny or anything but it's something to say when someone says do you know you look like so yeah I just keep not my finest work but there you just said I am yeah 36 and 10 last night what's up I know you're saying he's Alex you yeah yeah that's
“well honestly you have the bona fide's kind of back it up if you want to take you to gym somewhere”
that pull up I still can shook 135 pounds hangin from your hips one clean rep yeah I see that see like Ryan Ryan's doppelganger's who aren't even famous people at this point we just get random guys that are sent in that that feels fair to be annoyed about this is you know
just say thanks man yeah the only thing I can equate to is just by me having an E in my first name
so it's different but it's everyday it's every fucking day and like what am I gonna do come up with a routine you know why would I do that I have a couple things every now and then like yeah I didn't have a vote you know yeah yeah that's a good one you know that's if that's if I'm getting more follow ups or that's weird or why would you do that you know but was that more possible thing now where you would did people like in high school where they like what the hell's up with your name dude and I feel like
when you get older don't get your parents but God no it's just like you go to the bank you go to anything any paperwork anything over the phone think about all the different times that you're giving your information to somebody that's like oh let me look this up and then every single time like if your name is spelled different promo codes in adrythes right so I am right now so it's kind of come full circle like you're yeah extra evil that you know now be loving that extra why is
in one should be an eye yeah exactly yeah I look it doesn't bother me it's just that
“I think for our emailer the point should be you need to make it efficient for you whatever this”
you know like it's gonna be weird no one ever thinks about what you're going through so if you're
Sitting there trying to figure out which care it's gonna hold up to longest y...
them water but you're sitting there going hey you look like Alexander you know and if you're like
yeah no shit dude well like oh do you see my like if you do that you lose every time even though
“it's clear that you're annoyed by it that much so you just get whatever I think honestly everything”
should be based on how do you keep them moving whatever keeps it moving is the right answer that's where it's probably not gonna stop maybe you can throw a soul patch in there it's a little obscure doesn't it's gonna be a little back around no soul patch I think I didn't somebody get one as a like a punishment on pimp was that max I got one as a punishment seems like that's kind of the way they're coming back in sort of a is it dare it's a dare yeah
I still feel like we talked before I still feel like the facial hair that's the most jarring it's just like the
full thick go tea you make somebody bring that back and then we're then then we're really back dudes we're hammering that in the 90s that was look who's all sorts of kids you know this is kid's skinny coming home fucking parents Xenoe's sitting there dipping on the back courts with a go tea like what happened or a kid yeah I'm thinking like lead singer to system of it down go tea you know talking about to find edges there to yeah I love system but down I have a poster of them
in one of my guest bedrooms all right these are not these are not crushing right now
“because I think they're kind of going into a couple of different right let's try this let's try this”
thirty one six three two forty mainly cables and freeways but I am proud that I do three mile walks with my dogs and a fifty pound weighted vest majority of days just got my weighted vest in the
mail and start running the beach in the morning so you're first weighted vest or do you
could not be like my third one yeah but to say yeah come I work in finance and have a business partner who's become my best friend simply for the sheer amount of time we spend together he's really an awesome dude with his soul fault being he's just on a sports fan generally it's actually kind of nice because like anyone else I get bothered by hearing dudes for girls to take hot takes from their local radio station to sound like they know sports
there's one problem has done has been getting in a soccer pretty heavily recently and he is has to as a result normally I'd be excited to talk ball of them for once and honestly as a casual soccer guy I'd take a larger interest if it meant him and I could chop it up at the office the problem is he's developed some weird European superiority complex not so hard to run up on numerous occasions how three times more people watch mancity versus Liverpool than Super Bowl keeps saying in
football or soccer as you would call it that's a tough sentence what is faster these are the people I can't defend for the record I I am soccer guy I've thrown through weekends full gatekeeper really morning so Champions League is on today that I'm not doing you can't do that can't be that guy will not defend that guy I'm sorry I was just saying it sucks that he wish for this for so long and he got like the worst version they could get yeah that's a good point
like I'd love to chop it up at sky now I hate him maybe he's American he's gonna have to be that's the reason to suck so bad okay so this is like the is that worse than the jersey Italian who we've talked about this he roots for Italy which probably rooting for Italy in the world baseball classic yeah like the fourth generation of Italian who's like you know doesn't even have a stand I would what is great yeah we're bringing up a lot of like random bar so employees
but I think I saw a facility tweet like this is the hardest this is the hardest decision I've ever made rooting for Italy or or America like you do you live in New Jersey yeah I don't know what's happening with that I mean I felt like there's probably like a 25% chance sports writers that I follow and may have worked with and enjoy like but they might have been like rooting for Venice
“with the last night yeah yeah it was definitely happening oh no no no not about it here's the thing”
I watch the whole game I was like good for Venezuela and I know I'll forget who won that game in six weeks yeah we'd rather have the hockey goal so I'm sorry yeah I think that that won men a little bit more but I would have forgotten who won that one too all right back to our guy I understand he might be compensating for the fact that he hasn't really been able to talk sports with the guys for his entire life and I'm sad that he might have felt an inferiority complex as a result
oh wait wait wait and empathetic that makes way more sense okay reading today deeply from your host similar to how I can't hold up whenever dudes talk about
Bourbon or cars at the same time I want to tell him to stop being a douchey i...
a very subtle way so we can at least talk soccer without me wanting to punch him in the face
PS excited about water with Broncos think I press a little high not delighted but all right
“serity yeah you have to start this one Steve I would I would not want to talk to this guy”
and associate with this guy so and I and I like the sport should you go from friends to hey I can't talk to you anymore come on I don't know that I would do that but I would actively try to not talk because this happens like you'll meet soccer people and you know they'll just have just the worst takes about things and like soccer is like we're two because then you get there's like these
weird ownership things like there's obviously like some of them are owned by like Saudi Arabia
and all and there's arguments about like what ownership thing it's it's all it's all convoluted people it's very tribal and I kind of avoid a lot of those conversations and I hate them and I don't know that the snobby soccer guy which I don't think I am you guys could tell me if I'm wrong
“I don't feel like I am but no you're not anybody dangerous to it that guy I think I dislike as much as”
you guys do so I don't know I I probably just would not talk it's worth them I just kind of like be casual yeah the problem here is you don't want to do any extra work with you know if we're giving advice like oh wouldn't it be funny if you just went and did this and you came up with all these weird topics that you can have a conversation with like yeah that might be funny but like that's going to make interacting with him exhausting so I don't know maybe just it's like a one or two
word answer like yeah get so or maybe it might just be if you say so like it might just be that I don't I don't think you want to go the route where it's like not like a prank but it's just like whenever we say it would be funny if you said this this is not it's like just you don't want to really put a bunch more effort into this thing that's already kind of annoying if he's really saying football or as you would call soccer then I think that's a invitation to just strike hard and
strike early with this do like are you seriously gonna start doing this now it doesn't sound like he's a guy that maybe is built for a harsh reality you know if he's if he's doing this but if your friends I actually think you're doing him the favor by going like what are you
like what are you doing right now are you never been talking you know do me
that you literally aren't allowed to say that we live we're in America we call it soccer yeah but now you're starting to talk about like naturalization stuff I'm not but I mean
“don't you think you have to like immediately just cut this off now and just make fun of him”
viciously you know ask him if you like ask him to just start changing all the other names did like references like he wants to be lived downstairs you cafe yeah give me trouble getting in the car park today yeah all right yeah that's that's easy that's easy yeah so just start replacing everything with European phrasing yeah yeah right yeah we're about 2.5 kilos from I don't know lunch yeah that didn't make any sense well yeah kilometers but then I was like a
shortenary keyless you I don't even know I'm not that that's not my world I don't know you know or maybe that's I'm not something you have fun with you just mess them up all the time now he would have to use my mirror to cover everything else so all right tough patch today tough patch will be better next time I think we are I think what's all right we are here to a lot of energy in the in the in the
coward conversation so we did but still um hey every now and then you have a show when you're like need to improve that for Thursday Friday and we will all right thanks Kevin thanks Tom thanks Judy thanks Kyle Ryder so let's show personal sports. Tee-hoo.
