Bradley, you said it, uh, with with, with, uh,
poked our losing just a little bit amount of time that he did, uh,
“you said this sets up perfectly for him.”
Because there is so much stress and pressure that comes with the yellow jersey, I mean, he's, it didn't really lose any time. He's right there. Yeah, but that I mean, you know how it is. I mean, first days of touring, you get that yellow jersey. Now you get that, that high, that motivation.
I was confident in your team been to go hasn't worn the yellow jersey in several years. I don't know exactly how many, but he's in the yellow jersey once again. I feel like that's just going to elevate him even more. All right, everybody, welcome back to the move podcast. We are going to
talk about finally stage one of the 26 tour, but before we do,
happy birthday, America. Yeah, always a lot, lot, lot, lot going on
with this birthday. It's 250. It's a big, uh, big big time here in Aspen. I mean, coming down to the studio, just to all the people going down, we're missing the parade due to the late start. But anyways, hope everybody's having a great fourth. You too, you know, I mean, I'm loving it.
I haven't even the donuts this morning, the donuts were glazed this morning in the studio with red, white and blue, uh, and we're watching the race and us or Bradley, I said, do you guys have one of those? Like what, uh, he doesn't know. We call it noise, everybody. He's like, yeah, we're just us and we colonized everybody. I was like, hmm, until you
didn't, I'm watching never mind. Uh, I was at a mistake. Should we talk
about that? What was mistake leaving the, leaving the empire for the US? Okay, we are not talking about that. We are not. That's a whole other part of it. Uh, as is the case, each and every year are good for and I'm so curious how a French guy who, you know, of course has been a basically a 10 year mainstay on the show helps us pronounce
the start town and the finish town. Of course, this race started in Spain. Uh, but nonetheless, let's queue a land. I like what we do in stage one. Stage one from Barcelona to Barcelona. Okay. From Barcelona to Barcelona. Just warming up. I was just warming up for it. Uh, uh, I got to say, I'll kick it off. I mean,
I, we, we talked a lot about this in the preview show yesterday and
“and you said it best, I think, Bradley, that these writers and even”
even, you know, us really couldn't look past this first stage. I don't think
it, uh, I got to give props to ASO and, and this concept did it, you know, for me did it play out exactly the way I expected. No, um, was Jonas and his team exceptional. Yes, you could see they rode the perfect race. You saw other teams that you could see guys that were exceptional, but they just rode at different race. They didn't ride the right race. Um, but nonetheless,
as a spectator, I loved it. No, I would say the same, but it doesn't get any more exciting. Stage one of the Tour de France that we haven't seen some that exciting in several years. Um, not only that, but like, think about the amount of pressure that goes into the stage so much. Yeah. And I spoke to a couple of the writers right this morning after the stage and they're like, yeah, we just sat around just
doing easy TTT and both of the team, but then all of a sudden you got to go full gas 200 heart rate first stage of Tour de France. I mean, that's about as no reckoning as a guest, but for the fans, it was a very exciting Bradley. Yeah, I thought I delivered on every level. Um, I thought it was a great spectacle. Um, there was a few surprises in there. Um, we've been
rocking our brains as to some of the things we saw and what what the story behind them was, but I thought it was a great start to the race. Great start to the three weeks. And it was the yellow jersey. Yeah, and you started seeing like different technical things that they smart things were wondering why I want to go ahead of yellow helmet on red roll. Ben Wiggins pointed out
so they can tell who he was and actually lands and I disagree because we're like, he spends so much time with these guys. You know exactly which the who they are. I know what they're in front of you. It makes sense because we saw already from from the first time Ramco took a poll. He slotted right back into fourth wheel. So they had a plan from the get go how much he was going to pull when he was going to
slotted in. Uh, so that was different in terms of the other teams. We didn't see that with the other teams. I thought that was pretty interesting. Just a little cues. Yeah. The other thing and and I, you know, of course a lot of us, a lot of guys in this sport live in Dorona, live in this area of Spain, really a state of Spain called Catalonia. Dorona's, you know,
“I think home to over a hundred professional cyclists or Barcelona, obviously the capital of”
that state. We did the Olympic Games there in 1992. I thought obviously I'm obviously Jonas being a guard wins the stage and we'll wear the yellow jersey tomorrow. I thought Barcelona
Was as big of a winner.
yeah, I've always wanted to go to Barcelona. Boy, you see it today and you're like, okay,
I mean, it's just fantastic. Yeah, great. The overhead shots were just phenomenal. We can't, we can't talk about the race without talking about Philippo Gana who set the early best time or really their team. But but at the same time, maybe it was just him. Right. Yeah. I mean, we did questions to where he could own fast run his own, right, which is normally the way with someone of his quality and the how short this stage was. But any of us, I'm a bit
curious as to how they'll feel tonight. I mean, they became close to winning the stage, which they didn't, of course. The puncture of voclam moves their big GC guy and and what would the strategy have been when they hit that last climb would it have been to keep Kevin there as long as possible
with Gana in the prospects of the GC and obviously losing him and losing to stage. They'll be a
bit disappoints and I imagine. And Bernal. Yeah, Bernal. And we could work out, Bernal had green. We couldn't figure out why he's in the green jersey. But look, this is a new concept. So we're wasting our time trying to figure out why certain riders are in certain jerseys. He was on about day. I mean, you know, there were some debate on the coverage as to what he was signaling with thumbs down. I don't think there's really any debate there. Yeah. And then like I like that,
big engine, former Tour de France winner just came off the jury to tell you like there's no townhouse, someone like a body like an engine like that will respond day one of a grand tour after you just been completed at a hard grand tour in the jury. You know, he could have been up late. He might have been up in the middle of the night watching Columbia. Yeah, that's that. I don't know how I started the show. You know, yesterday, on the previous show, I, I,
I, you know, let's talk about this sort of my newfound love of the sport of soccer. Apparently this is a big deal. And let me tell you, I mean, my love affair with the game of soccer was big before yesterday. And then I watched Argentina Cape Verde. Okay, let me I didn't, I don't even know where Cape Verde is. We did that. And by the way, all you people listening,
“you didn't know either. The amount of people that searched up where is Cape Verde, I think it”
broke the internet. But I found it. It's on the west coast of Africa, just quite a bit south of the Canary Islands. I'm like, wow, it's not a very big place. But they're about to take down the greatest of all time. Messy. Yeah. And 500,000 people from Cape Verde. And so I'm watching this game. And I almost got my wish. The penalty kicks. It almost, almost went to penalty kick.
It's anyhow. And the goal they did is incredible interview after we're saying there was
a small country. They came from nothing, but they really were just grateful with everything their grandparents did for them. And they're just so real honored to be from that country. So good. Yeah. So good. But when I was searching up Cape Verde, by the way, they didn't come from nothing. Because the first thing that pops up is a picture of the beaches in Cape Verde. They look nice. Buddy. Those are some of the best beaches ever. Anyhow, let's go. We're here to look at our
nature. Huh? Should we do the move there tonight? Should we just just say that? Yeah, Cape Verde.
“I think it's Cabo Verde, is what they said in the beginning. Yeah. Yeah. And then for some reason,”
we just make up our name. Bradley, on the net company, any other question. Kind of, at fastening question, let's say Veclon does not flat. He's there. What's the goal for the stage? Is it Ghana winning the stage and getting yellow? Or do they, I guess, ideally, Veclon strong enough to stay with them even as they cross the line together. But I think they probably would have had to make a decision. Like, what's more important for them? Well, I mean, going back to, when I was in the
team, I can only tell you what the tactic would have been then knowing the team, whether that's changed in a few years since I've been away. But it would have been to limit the losses as little as possible to whoever that team leader was for the GC regardless of whether you won the stage or not. But, you know, we all know how important it is for a team like that to take yellow on day one. Yeah. And by the time you hit that last climb, anyway, you would imagine that Veclon would have
still been there with the descent before the climb. So Ghana could have gone off and done these things anyway. And Veclon would have limit it. It is losses from from their onwards.
“So do you think it was a call on the road or they had its scenarios played out?”
I think they were not winning. I don't think they'd have changed the plan through the race. I think it would have just date of date of, they would have anticipated had, he had a problem in the meetings before, then this would be the plan if in the scenario that that happened. And you asked the question before the show, like, well, okay, they win the stage. What's the plan for the, because they've kind of blown up their G.C. Because Veclon was the ton of time to buy his boss, boss, who was really
Good rider.
But my response was, well, if you win the stage and you get yellow, it kind of doesn't matter that you don't have any answer to that. So I'm sure that was the goal. But for the teams that that were not going to win and take yellow, you would have to think that they're only priority would be to protect their team later. Yeah. So if you recall, if you watch in these earlier
teams that go up, movie star, one of the first guys dropped is their team leader, their G.C.
rider, then you get to J. Koalula, one of the first guys dropped swinging off the back, Ben O'Connor. Now, I'm not sure if he's there for G.C. Apparently not. Apparently not. But you would don't paper you would think so. And we saw that time over and over, I mean, that just
“shows you also, I think the violent nature of this thing you're coming in the tour base nervous,”
you can do this stuff in training. Man, you get out there on the road and you got somebody on the front going 60. Yeah. And it's you're like, man, I wasn't ready for this. Not only that, for sure, that company and the other state, they are not delusional in the sense that they think they're going to be poker on your own. It's been to go. So I think they're priority today was to win the stage and get the yellow jersey and try to hold on to their G.C.
Guys is much as possible. So I think they made the right call. Well, we got to talk about these things right. I mean, if you, I guess in hindsight, if you go back and study the tactics, so to speak of the way to ride something like this, they were absolutely perfect. Yeah. Captain, we're ready together. We're super fast early in the race. Had those guys. I mean, I think we all agree in the, in the pre show and we're going to institute this every day with the
“move of the day. Gotta have a move of the day. But certainly comes from that team, right?”
With all that you guys say, we got who we voted on. But they were perfect. Red, compared and contrast to Tate Poguchar. He gets the 2K to, sorry, 3K to go and they have two guys left. It is Tate and Isaac Del Toro. Now, we're watching this going, oh my God, this is a crisis. But, you know, those are obviously two of the best riders in the world. They, they managed to cover their losses. But, um, this one is right. Looked perfect. Yeah.
There's such an efficient, organization on this efficient team. And we think the, the
shuffling of riders that they've done since last year's tour, where, of course, they finished second.
But they, they really made the race last year, didn't they, in terms of taking it on? They went to the Vuelta. They've been to the Jiro. They've won those races. I mean, they, and they've shuffled their, Vuelta and Doven 18 for this race. It's three riders from the Doven 18 that won the
“team Tom Joe there. I think it's four riders. Four riders it. Yeah. And then they just, they, they always”
execute the performances. Great. You want to hear Crazy Staterpavismo? Yeah. Since 2020, they've won 48%. So basically 50% of all, um, of all grand tours. Right. That's crazy. That's, it's a team right there. And Bradley, you mentioned this at super. And should you see them on the podium? They're, they don't have a lot of, they don't have as much money as some team. So they have to get really creative like Dovidite Peacons, only the last guy. Yeah. With Jonas, who's from
Poltyvis at Malta, tiny team. And it's a second grand tour of the year. He just did the Jiro and finished incredibly well in the GC was key, key, key for Jonas. And they kind of are an odd ball looking team up there. They get riders a different height. You would not think they're great team time trails. And you look at any of us. They look like statues. Everyone's your height. It's like perfect times. Yeah. Yeah. But they pull together, don't they? And they will raise their
performance when they're around Jonas. And of course they lost Christian name. And in the last month, wildvenants, you know, noticeably not at this tour of France. But they still somehow come together and execute performances of that of that nature. Not only mentally, three to four K to go. You have four of the strongest guys in the world still together and then you go. Yeah. Because you can totally, you're gonna stand. For being to go, looking around going, I still got these three
guys with me like, think about the motivation you get. Yeah. So they've, they've that they work that plan to perfection. Move with the day. I tell you, you're gonna stand. You have a final pull. People don't have no idea how one's stressful that advantage. But also like, having a pull at 200 heart rate and nailing those corners the way he did, like you saw a pig and Zola just like basically everything could just hang onto that string wheel, swing and
just incredibly impressive ride and went all in. I mean, he pretty much crawled to the finish line
after he pulled up. But one incredible impressive ride he did. And you know, with regards to
poker char, despite it not looking very ideal at all, he was pokey on the last one. He knew the situation. He knew that some, whether it be Jonas or other teams, we're going to come into that final climb with three or four motors in front of the leader and boy, if I'm him, I take a lot of consolation from that. I'd say he's he's going to know now. You got the time. Apparently he only went
Up that final climb just under two seconds faster than Jonas.
than that and his face looked more chill than that. As far as I'm, I mean, Jonas was full gas.
“And Jonas had, you know, he didn't pull until the last few millimeters where a poker char actually”
pulled up. He was having a climb to give the tour a little bit of a reprieve before the descent. But it's a lot of different scenario like things went on there where things only kind of sprinted by Jonas. In my opinion, maybe not the most advantage thing to do because Benico had to had to change his pace and then, you know, finish it off on the climb where poker char did his own pace the whole way up the climb. Couldn't arguably mean those two seconds right there, but of course
his performance was insane. And Bradley, you said it with with with poker char losing just a little bit amount of time that he did. You said this sets up perfectly for him. Because there is so much stress and pressure that comes with the yellow jersey. I mean, he's, it didn't really lose any time. He's right there.
Yeah, but I mean, you know how it is. I mean, first days of tour and you get that yellow jersey.
Now you get that high, that motivation, that confidence in your team. Benico hasn't worn the yellow jersey in several years. I don't know exactly how many, but he's in the yellow jersey once again. I feel like that's just going to elevate him even more. Yeah, and that UAE performance is just functional as it looked. You know, you take Vismar and Vingigo all out of it. There are only four seconds behind Ghana in any else. Yeah. So it's not a bad ride, which is a team that, I mean,
for my count, Ghana, Foss. Yeah. That's two world champions right there. Josh Tarling, Tawling, some sort of world championship against block. I would imagine. Yeah. So that's like
“the world class team where you have to surprise them. I'm a little torn on UAE because in some,”
if you were really going to Zag, you'd say right at the day, but got chart because he's like, that's that's bad to riders. I was disagreeing on the ride. Well, the ride of the GC day, but go ahead and buy it for statement. They like the time is good. I agree with Lance. Like, it's actually not too bad for them. He rides really well. Where you surprised with UAE, you look at the team. You'd think they would have more riders there. Like, what do you think
happened? You would have thought. I mean, like I said, it's 19k. It's a very technical TTT, you know, up and down. It's hard to plan that to perfection. I think they came, they came away happy. They wanted to win, but they had a great ride. But I think in my opinion, the best GC ride was Remko. I mean, you saw he started off the TTT. He was the only GC guy that started off the TTT. Took a long pull after the first corner. He's looking back already saying,
“"My guy's there like he was that composed already from the start of that team time trial."”
Then slot it into fourth wheel. He only let three guys pass them. So they plan that as well. They're thinking, "Best TTT guy in the world." Nobody wants to sit behind him. He's so hard dynamic. You're not getting any love behind him. But he did not miss one pull, the whole TTT, and one the battle on the road with his own teammate, Lipa, which wrote him off the wheel. There's a big statement of opinion. Well, we talked about it yesterday. What the team direction said, we're just going to
let the road decide whether or not that was just lip service. We don't know, but the road decided. And so he's going to take a lot from that fun fact. Remko, today for you gear nerds at home,
had a 68 tooth front chain ring. That's amazing. That's ridiculous.
It'd be careful on the corners. 68 tooth front chain rings. Yeah, I assume the cranks are tiny. Yeah, one. Anyways, maybe 160. Yeah. Yeah. Today's show brought to you by E-coi. When every second matters as it did on today's stage, the E-coi pure arrow helmet is what you want to reach for. The E-coi pure arrow is the time trial helmet trusted by multiple world tour teams. When speed matters most, they know that E-coi
has spent a full year of CFD work. AI assisted development and wind tunnel testing with one objective in mind, making the fastest TT helmet possible. The result is 13 watts saved at race speed, giving their riders a massive advantage. So if you want the same advantage for your own riding and racing, scan the flow code on the screen, check out the link in the show notes or simply head to E-coi, E-coi, E-coi.com to get yours today. Also today brought you by Kenyon. We're excited for this
year's show to be partnered with Kenyon's move plus. Now that is not to be confused with Spencer and Johann's show. Just kind of cool. It's the same name move plus after decades of racing and training aches and pains are just part of the deal. Knees joins all of it. That's the price of admission for the time spent riding, running, time in the gym, etc. The thing I really like about it, it's not some surface level fix. It uses targeted light therapy to get deep into the muscles and
joints right where the pain actually lives. Recovery has always been a big part of performance. We
knew that back on the day and it's even more true now. The move plus just makes it easy to do at home,
No appointments, no hassle.
still wants to stay active, do the things you want to do. It is actually worth checking out. Use the code the move for $50 off or go to Kenyon. That's K-I-N-E-O-N. Kenyon.io/TheMove. Kenyon.io/TheMove. Also today talking about the OG Strupluffle Honey Stinger. Love this brand. Just over the hill from us here in an Aspen Colorado over and steamboat springs. The folks at Honey Stinger just here's the reality. Anybody that's gone on a long ride knows this. What you put in,
you're got truly matters. Honey Stinger's been fueling endurance athletes for over 25 years. I've been working with these guys since 2008. Almost 20 years. We're going with the fine folks in Honey Stinger. It is real fuel, not candy dressed up to sports nutrition and they're right up the road from us as I mentioned over in steamboat. They've just launched our new their new electrolyte gels and 100 milgam caffeinated juice and all of it is easy on the stomach. Three hours in the
waffles are my personal favorite. Use the code the move 25 for 25% off at honeystinger.com/theMove 25. So put the code and the slash or the move 25. Any other fun facts? Well I want to ask you guys
this question. So I don't know if we said it, but the average speed is it was basically 54k an hour
“for this stage. Could Ghana have gone faster? Like in your heart of hearts. What do you think?”
By himself. I think so. Yeah. Oh my god. Yeah. I mean that's Ghana's very unique because he's a unique time trialist and it was very technical to begin with. But you would expect him to have gotten slightly faster. I mean he's the one with the climbs. Yeah. Yeah. I mean who else would have was that a consider why wouldn't that be a consideration? Yeah. Yeah. And a good question. Yeah. Well here's so he did a time trial at this year. He won 2042 kilometers long. 55k an hour.
Yeah. Yeah. But the way I don't know about it. That was flat. It was okay. It really took a while. Yeah. But that would be something to see. They roll out and everyone just falls back and let's Ghana ride by himself. It would be interesting. Yeah. I mean I think he would have he would have
rode the course differently. So he might not have been as fast as the second part of the course. Yeah.
But certainly in that first part of the course, he probably could have gone faster than the team. Interesting. They should do like a V formation behind him and push him along.
“Roman Greg, Greg, while had the fastest time of the climb. Interesting. Really? Which is really?”
It's an indication of how hard poker tour had to go before that actual last climb because definitely he would be going faster than Roman Greg, while but he's apparently he's in the mountains. Would you know what happened? It's funny. It's him because he'd just beat Pagachar at a stage at Tour Spitzland where Pagachar was trying to catch him and he couldn't catch him and then Roman Greg, Greg, while are one right ahead of him. Yeah. But Pagachar was coming so a lot of
and he was with a group of what three or four guys. Yeah. Yeah. He was in a break and then now Pagachar was coming with a botchik. Yeah. George, you got to take. Yeah. No one's beat him straight up. Oh no. I know that. This is shaping up to be a really exciting tour. I think today's stage could not have been more exciting. The GC guys that we're thinking we're going to perform all performed really well. So it's going to be good. We're seeing, and we just talked about Equi and
the development of their time trial helmet. We're seeing these time trial helmets are changing. Right. And it was years ago where Jonas and Beesman Lisa by came out with with a new helmet. We're like, wow, that's, that's aggressive. Yeah. You saw education first in their helmet today. Even more aggressive. Just just different. Buddy mindset of photo engine. He was just curious
“that this is where the inspiration is coming from. So I think it's from space balls.”
We have one. I mean, back in the day very similar. You know, it's, it's, it's, you see, you got that somewhere. No shirt on. No shirt on. But it's not far off. It's actually not that far off. It's this what's going on in the design rooms. Yeah. They're just looking at,
you know, watching Space Balls all day in there. You know, he always sent me a picture of
you doing arrow testing in like 1992 or something. And it is, it's unbelievable how far the aerodynamics of them. I mean, you look at, like, Yon in some of those tours. Like his hands would be like, yeah, front wheel. So much air getting caught in there. I would, I would have loved these now Remco that I think is an outlier that I wouldn't have loved his position. But some of these, some, most of the other positions, Ghana, for example, Yonus, for example,
higher up in in super stable. Well, you were one of the drivers guys, the bus stop position out. Yeah, I would have. Yeah. I think my arms naturally did that, because I used to hold on top of
The the levers.
son, you had this huge stack height. Yeah, higher up. I think you were one of the first guys to do that.
“Yeah. Was that based on tunnel testing? No, I never went in the tunnel. So that was just, I think it was more”
though. Yeah. That's interesting. And folks says as as was the case last year, every day on peacock, it is that time of the show. We're going to take a break for, as my good friend Chuck Willary once said, 2 and 32. Be right back. All right. We are back back with the move before the July. Yohan sent around a clip yesterday at Instagram clip. It just struck me out. And Yohan was, I think it was a little myth that some of the answers, but
there was, we'll just show the clip. But I have a lot of thoughts. To our team, finger guard or poker chart, he doesn't ask thought or or finger guard or Yohan is, but he has Remko. Of course, he's going to say Team Remko. But I'm just so good. Like, what are you thinking? What's he thinking? Or what's he thinking? What's the guy with the mic? Like, you can't put it,
the dizzying. Yeah. I mean, this is the link. What did you go to? No, that's a dick. You, you would never even answer that question.
I would have. What would they ask? You know exactly what I was in a way, but it's just stupid. I mean, well, I guess what it what did we just do? We just played the clip on our shows. Okay. But that's also fun. But we're just fine too. But yeah, we're playing it to show how idiotic it is. But it's accomplishing its goal of getting engagement though. Would be Margaret. Yeah. I agree. I my Remko went up. He got a lot of points in my book for that one.
Yeah. It's disrespectful to ask him. It is. It is pretty disappointing. Yeah. Were you guys surprised? He didn't finish hanging up today. I actually think that he wrote a conservative race for the team in the sense that there was probably
“a lot of going into it that he could do a lot of damage and destroy the team. So I think he played a”
team role today more than anything in order to keep the team together and be as efficient as possible from A to B as false as possible. Yeah. I think they started way too conservatively. You can't give up
12 seconds in the first 7.8k of a 19k TTT that they're going 60k an hour. That's almost
it is impossible to bring back. And I think like I mentioned earlier, Remko didn't. Most of the work first team and still wrote lip of his office, Will, who happened to finish third place in toward a France last year. To me, like he won a good mental battle today. He did. Yeah. Well, there's probably, I don't think lip witch had cramps off the sleep because there might, there might be like one or two riders in the whole race that wouldn't have been red enough as
we all. Yeah. Well, he's an interesting one. Could Remko have gone false to our own. That's a great
“question. Thank you. I think he could have. Yeah. And by the way, he certainly could have. He”
certain, the answer of that is yes. Let me ask by my sources what they could you have beaten Jonas. Well, that would have been interesting. I wouldn't put it positive. Well, Ben, your son said that Remko, maybe George said this. Remko, when he's on the front, he's doing less watts than the person on his wheel. Yeah, that's, yeah. That's crazy. That would have been a flex. Just, yeah. Just some team. And he had to, he had cover. If the team said, look, we're
going to let the road sort it out between yourself and the, but what's he said, all right, here's the deal. I'm just going to do it by myself. So he has cover for what were the odds of lip of it staying on his wheel if he did that. I like that. Well, Ben, then it's a win when Ben, it's a win when what do we think about, um, Sashas is a performance. Yeah, right. Good question. Yeah. I thought that was solid first tool to firms. 29 seconds down.
Great. And he doesn't have the team of the team. He doesn't have the HP that, that four or five are there. You could see it. You saw it right away right out of the, as start house, all the way down to the equipment. I mean, this is, he's going to get there and everything will rise with that. Yeah. It, within the first 10 seconds. Like that would have been a shot to him as well. You know, coming back from where he's come from with the dog for negrids and bits wasn't he? Yeah.
Yeah. I think that was a great start. Yeah. I agree. He looked great. Yeah. Matthew Rigotel right there. Yeah. Big show. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, what do you, what do you guys think about one of you? So that I was, that was pretty impressed. Yeah. Yeah. Because he finished like he's now sitting in fourth, 16 seconds behind vinegar. Taday is third, 12 seconds behind in the white jersey. And they lost the one we got the Oscar almost to reflect. Yes. They also had some technical issues.
I think they ought to be happy with their right.
Let's jump into stage two, stage two previews presented to us by Van Duitt. Van Duitt,
get checked this out. They're born from cycling. The first prototype wasn't built for camping.
It was built for around a Midwest cycling team that eventually became Van Duitt racing. Cycling isn't part of Van Duitt's story. It's where the story began. Visit Van Duitt and mention the move and get up to $5,000 sort of like a tour to France savings. Van Duitt.com. Let's look at stage two. It is not straightforward. And I caught myself. Well, it was just jump straight to the final circuits. But let Gabriel, if you don't mind, go back to the actual, because there's
“a longer climb in the middle. Not that tough. I think it's 6k. Yeah, 6k. It's 6.5%.”
But it's just enough to throw it into the middle of the race. And then the circuits, actually during the commercial break was the first time I looked at the severity of the combustion in the circuit. These are no Joe. Yeah. Exactly. This one you look forward to watching. Yeah. I mean, they're hitting it out of the park with soap and we can. But you were saying, who was back and on the route, yesterday? And do you have a question before you ask Bradley? Who came
up with this super cool CT concept? Is that a SOUCI? We've done that before. We did it in the tour of Med in 2004. Finished on Momfell. Well, that's okay. But that's sort of different. I mean, that's a legit climb. Yeah. The modern way. Why would the UCI come up with that? I'm curious. This wondering, they would have to approve it. But who came up with that concept? It is certainly not UCI. The
UCI has never come up with anything. They haven't. They started doing a pair of niece a few years ago.
“Yeah. And then it was successful. Yeah. It's pretty cool. Like, yeah. I think it's a great way to”
install. I think here. I mean, but you can understand it. To be a concept that we're actually sitting here discussing, it has to be, I mean, if you finished up Momfell and then that's a discussion. Right. If you had a flat one, that's probably not much of a discussion. Then it's just the team-time trial. Yeah. You got to have some sort of Hillary component here. Or I'll pillfinish to make it interesting. Which, which you know, I mean, I don't, I can't quite remember where
tour 2027 is starting. But anyhow, you know, by the way, you don't have to have it on the first stage. Edinburgh. Edinburgh. Next year. Oh. You know, we've been looking for a new home potentially of the move. Well, the look-up where Edinburgh is, but you could play golf there if we have this year there. Yeah. You could be it. It's an Andrews. We could say it's an Andrews. Yeah. Wow. They're just no show. No one ever makes this set. We could do it from the ninth hole.
Live. But right. Anyhow, it's been let's go back to stage two. I mean, it's just not straightforward. It's not a field sprint, right? I'm not. No, this is not a way. Yeah, I mean, this is such a hard finish that it's going to be the top five GC guys, top 10 GC guy. I don't know. I'm curious. You can sneak in there tomorrow. I mean, maybe like rooming requires. And like that, this finish is used in the Volta Catalonia. Yeah. It's three like three circuits with a to steep, steep climb. It's
cat three, but it's it's really explosive. So falls down, helps the finish fast. Yeah. Fast down and very fast. But it will progress our try to get some time back tomorrow and he's going to be
all in or you think it'd be happy sitting at 13 seconds. I've never known with him to do that. You never
know. I think I think he'd want to sort of sort of show some force tomorrow in my opinion. He thinks he wins the stage. I think he can definitely win the stage. I mean, it just would be asking the team to control the stage. They probably would do it, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Because any, let's say he wins. I don't think he's going to get you on this. No, but let's say he wins he gets a little bit of time bonus time back. Kind of kind of gets out of this. Yeah. Yeah.
We talked to an yesterday in the preview show just what Barcelona's like if there is any precipitation. There is a zero percent chance of precipitation. However, very hot. We've been talking about
“this heat in Europe. Highs, 92 degrees Fahrenheit. I guess that's what roughly 30 plus Celsius.”
And inside the city, too, man. There's no air. That's just just to avoid nothing. Just throw him right in. Now to fire. I'm ruined. Pagotra is bad in the heat. That was the narrative. He's dispelled that, but it's going to take a toll. I mean, is this at about somebody else, too, long time ago? Spencer, you and we were meant to talk about this yesterday. You and Johan have your daily show. It's a bit of a malange. It's a combo of of outcomes in the past. So we're going to
talk about the sports betting component. You guys are going to talk about it. But it's you and Johan
Breaking down the action, you know, the odds.
action today. We're not with Johan right now. So if you want to know what he's going to say, tune into that and then at the end, the last half of the show is outcomes. As us predicting the
“next stage. So if you want to know who's going to win stage two, you should tune in on this feed.”
You hit on this YouTube channel. What's that? You're picking ready. I think I got my pick ready. Well, I do. Why is it? I mean, we're not going to ask you this every day. But since we're talking about the move plus, just preview your pick for Tatyte. Tatyte book, I just went tomorrow. Yeah, this guy doesn't. He doesn't mess around anymore. He comes out. Also, a lot of guys in new trend is
GC guys are big names struggling in the first one or two days of a stage race. I don't quite know
maybe it's something to do with the altitude training, but people come in and they get someone will lose a lot of time tomorrow. Like it just happens every grand tour and he comes out and he just punches people in the mouth. That's what he does now. Yeah. And we haven't seen these months playing defense in a while, a long time. Yeah. So it'd be interesting to see the tactics how they play out tomorrow because if Tatyte, in fact, wants to win that stage, obviously they're
“going to have to go full on the offense. Use this team up. I'd like to see if he's much”
going to hang back and yeah. I'd like to say, hey, we're in yellow. Like try to take this time away from us, but we got plenty of time to get a point. Yeah, it's placed perfectly for him. I was just
thinking who was the biggest loser of today? I know we didn't come with that. Well, I guess
I could be like kind of good books who they had to wait for. But of the big big names. No. Leapwoods, maybe. How far back are you finished? Well, Leapwoods, Voclam is only in eight. He's 35 seconds back. So that's not so bad. That's it. I don't know. Did we have any Tom Pitcock was about a minute back? Really? Yeah. That's probably not what they were hoping for. Yeah. Yeah. I don't think I mean for them. Tom could be there tomorrow though. That's a
confidence for Tom. Well, yeah. Probably Richard Caripass. Yes. Yeah. Well, here's a guy who who has excelled at grant tours and certainly can climb as shown in the past that he can climb with the best in the world. Had the injury issues last year, didn't ride the tour.
1306. All the television showed was the first rider from education first and I was like,
well, that's not Caripass that he has to be. Now, maybe there's setting up his tour differently, you know, look for stages, breakaways, et cetera. I don't know. My mind the guys. Did you see guy? Well, mentally through there to win stages, going breakaways in the hard mountain days, like how hard can you actually push in a 19K TTT, you know, that you know, you're not going to win the race. You know, you're not going to win that stage. So mentally, I mean, these guys,
they're also human beings. It's really hard to push beyond your limits. If you know you're not wearing the stage and you have goals for later on in the race, stop with this Swedish shit. Okay. I mean, yeah, by the way, I've done this. I don't know. Fourth of July, 200 America's 250 is birthday. And I'm saying happy for it to be one of the bypass. Why are you saying high to people? I'm like, what is wrong with that? Are you saying
high to people? Just hang on. I didn't say that. All right. It was a little you were, I said, what's up? What are you running for mayor? What are you doing? Like, you don't have to say high to everybody. Like, nobody, they don't know that it's us riding, like, hey, no, no, oh, happy for it. Oh, my bro, just chill. Hey, I got several happy for it. Okay. So made my morning. But folks, don't forget, they're just human beings. Yeah. They don't warm your heart,
Bradley. Yeah. Let me tell you who's not a human being. As we were watching the race today, George and I, Bradley was upstairs. So we see we're sitting downstairs of a gym at the above us if you're watching. George and I are down here watching. And I swear to God,
“I thought the roof was going to crash. What were you throwing around in the way room and dropping it?”
I honestly, I got, I got, I got my heart rate when I'm anxiety when I think it sounds Western it is. But I was, I've heard other people say George and I come in down. We went over to the sides and just thought, well, if it comes down, we have a chance of not getting killed. What do you, what do you, some just some heavy shit now?
