(upbeat music)
- Welcome back to Two Judging Girls.
This is Mary from the Bay. - And it's Courtney from LA and Ahoi. We are diving headfirst into Hulu's love overboard. We're a group of sexy singles born to luxury art looking for love.
But not everyone gets full access to the glam life, as top-siders and down-siders compete for love with the winners getting a 100K trip around the world. Talk about a bingeable show that knows how to do cliffhangers we were hooked from episode one.
And now we are joined by a few of the stars from the show, please welcome Bella Lowe and Lexi. - Hi, ladies. - We're so happy to be here with you guys. - And to get a little judgy.
- You feel me? - I feel you. - Well, let's do a good job tonight. - It's fine. I mean, at least we're honest about it, right?
Okay, let's kick it off, Bella. You were very upset to be a down-sider to start. What was the worst part of it for you?
“- I think it's like the concept of cleaning on vacation.”
I'm so sorry, is that like foreign to anybody?
Like, I never want to clean on vacation.
I clean every single time I live my everyday life where I'm at work. I have a job where I clean up after people. So being in that moment, I'm like, yeah, I don't want to clean on vacation,
but you just thought you were signing up for something different. Like a luxury vacation on a yacht come to find out you're working on the yacht. - Yeah, definitely, I've been booze with me.
A little bad, y'all can see. But we just, you know, you'll see more. - Okay, low, you and David were kind of the mom and dad of the group right away and probably the most in sync of everyone.
Then he went on a date with Phil and everything kind of changed. Ruedely, he made you stand on that plank for 45 minutes. - Was that not the rootest thing?
Like, my hair went out, my legs are hurting. This is ridiculous. Like, you probably want to life jacket. - Y'all, I was instanceed by that. Like, actually, insects.
That they made me look like jacket. - Or? - Yeah, can you take us through your thoughts there of what was happening? Like, your connection was so quick, so fast.
Hulk is through all of that. - Yes, I mean, there are a lot of emotions involved. The one thing I'll tell you guys and I don't know if viewers will see the switch or not. But when I'm up there, honestly,
it probably only took about five minutes before I was like, I don't really care what this man's gonna say. Like, I'm fucking at here. - I'm like, regardless.
“And I think that like, you said we're connected.”
So I don't know if it was like to let the fear what, but I think he knew that like, I already screwed up so bad. Even if he didn't, like, me like, how would that night look? I think it would be. 10 times a word, Trotius, then I saw and heard that it was.
'Cause I heard it was a shit show. There, but yeah, I was shocked. I was feeling sad. I was feeling confused. Like, I'm looking up and everyone's like,
what's going on? Because something guys might not know, but when you're up there on the top deck, you can't hear what's being said. So they're all like going like this.
And you heard the, you heard my peanut gallery going crazy up there. So shout out to Michael. - Yeah, I forgot. (laughs) - Yeah, have you guys talked since? - So, what I'll say about that is,
right after this show, it's kind of complicated and I can elaborate in another time. Sometimes when you come off of something like that, like I really just want some semblance of just like reality and just ask him, bro, what the fuck was that?
Like, can you guys imagine all that happening?
You get plank and I've never had like a cohesive conversation
about like, hey, like what actually was that? So I was more inclined to maybe open to that type of conversation,
“but I think maybe like July, like deleted his number”
and then he's hit me up more recently, probably just to smooth things over to make himself feel better. But we did make great TV, so I mean, that's pretty much all I got positive to say about that. - Good for you.
- It was all for the best. - I remember calling you guys mom and dad on the boat too. - No, that really called us mom and dad. - Like literally, yeah, it was crazy, it was crazy. - See, you were coupled up with reset first
and then James let it be known that he wanted to be with you. How did that make you feel? I felt the connection between you right away and where do you guys stand now?
- Yeah, so I mean, he let it be known right away and I think that's the biggest choice of why I chose him was who doesn't want to man that's reassuring? Who doesn't want somebody that's like, "Hey, I want to be with you, he's not me now."
I was like, "It's either you or nobody." So I had that reassurance. I didn't get that necessarily from Reese on day one and obviously shows like this you're moving really fast. You don't expect, oh my god, somebody's gonna be eliminated day one.
But you have to kind of think like, what can I do more, what can I say more in order to like, you know, really express how you're feeling? So yeah, no, me and James right off the bat, I'm a lover girl at heart that shows throughout the entire show.
We were happy and well, it's mainly like, he just called me right before this. Like we talk, we're good. I wouldn't have wanted to do the experience with anyone else.
We hold a special place in each other's hearts
but we are not together.
“We are not actively dating but can you be friends with your ex?”
I believe so. - We make it so easy. - James is like the sweetest you got. - Yeah. - I mean, like watching him even you and like Lexi,
like it was the best like watching you guys where I'd be feeling through the screen the same way I felt it in real life. So he just kind of like felt for each other and wanted to like help everyone figure out their ways.
So it was a really funny experience with them. I mean, you ran off that plank for him. - Okay.
Can we first talk about like, I can't,
like I told everyone, okay. So then why do I have to wear a life jacket? - No, I'm not. - I'm not. - I have this one to ask.
- I buy it. No, I told them I was like, I'm like in my head, I told James, I was like, if it's not like whatever it is, I'm not going. I'm gonna stop them and be like,
I'm doing my big one wherever you wanna call it, I'm just not going. I'm gonna be like, you can't make me do something that I don't wanna do. So I was like, no.
And then I don't know, love blinds you, love just like, I can make you feel like I could just wear my good fly, I could do like pink. So I was like, no, man, my man, I just feel like a ran off that shit.
I don't know what, and then I hit the water, I was like, what did I just do? What did I do? Like my bracelets broke up, everything like, oh no, I lost everything I wore that.
It was in that fall hurts. Her, so I was like, in the name of love. Yeah. How many feet is it? It's like, um, 40.
It feels like you're like jumping off the eye will tell, like, it's insane. When I tell you guys, I got an M-Promptu salt water and a mother that I did not consent to. That was pretty much shocking, like part of getting clanked.
I was like, that was not the sensation. I was thinking it was gonna occur. I was very, very clean out after that. Oh my gosh. Ella, what did you guys think as a cast?
You see this plank. They're like, hey, by the way, this is how you did eliminated.
“Like, what was going through your mind when you were seeing that?”
And can you explain a little bit more for people who might not have seen the show yet? What the plank actually is? So what it looks like on TV, it really is like that big.
Like, I can't explain it when it first came out.
I remember being like, I'm not doing that. I don't know. I don't know who thinks I'm gonna, I'm not doing that. Like, immediately, I says, not what I signed up for, again.
So I was just like, yeah, I was really not, but it is so scary. There were people on that plank that I honestly couldn't see. That, when they were on it,
I'm like, but I felt like they were gonna die. Like, it literally felt like that. It was so like high states it felt like. And then if just everybody all collectively watching them and waiting for this decision to be made on top of it,
I literally can't even put it into work. It's like it besides everything I just said. But it is in love. - The water shoes were like, this is serious. Like when I was watching everyone on that plank
and their water shoes, I said, oh, God, we mean, this is life-duck it. It was all just so good. - And you see the divers ready to save lives? - Yeah.
- And like, what is going on? - Oh, no, no, it was a funeral. I made people wear black one night. So I was like, people are... - I remember that.
- I remember that.
“- How do you remember how like, is it funeral?”
- It was a funeral. - And the sound, you guys, the like side-drawn, like, but shh, that is what's... - Oh, my God, thank you. - I was like, there's so long though,
the weirdest thing you guys, I didn't give a shit about bought into the water. Like, you're like, I nervous at escaping. My nerves got tired too. They're like, we're out of here.
We're begging at this point. They, let's get this over with. Everyone was pissed. - Yeah, well. - The premise of the show,
what did you think you signed up for versus what actually happened? You guys all entered the boat thinking you're all living in luxury and come to find out there's a lot of stipulations.
Can you kind of think people through that? - Yeah, for sure. I will say in girls, I don't know if you remember this, but when Gabby made the announcement that like, some of you would be downstairs
cleaning and working and the rest of you were coupled up with upstairs, like, I literally just bust that out laughing. I'm like, Gabby's so silly. She's like, no, no, no. Like, I just see what's like,
I was like, what excuse me? But mind you, your girl.
- And never went down side.
- That's right. - Look, I don't know what is like sweaty nasty down there on if there was a B.O. I don't know, there's food particles. I don't know.
But I guess what I really thought, genuinely was the premise, but minus the downside part of it. So that was like a huge curve on. So glad that they didn't tell us
till we got there and all of our reactions are just like completely genuine because we were like, just shocked, shocked. - Let's see, you chose to go down side when you were living the good life
all for James. - My wallet. - This is what I'm telling you. You do dumb shit for love. Like, you're just kind of like, oh, like, the thing that I would never do
if I was like thinking straight. So that was the huge decision. And then we got screwed because we didn't want to challenge both of us for, I don't know, like not in athletic.
I don't know what happened. We just could not win. But luckily the love, so we didn't give a shit. - You need to be fair, though. It's okay that you didn't win
because I mean, low, we saw a David. He needed the oxygen mask because he was trying real hard.
I was like, this woman is comforting this man
and he's gonna do that to her. - Yeah, that was crazy. - And trying to forget about that part. - Yeah. - Because I wrote, sorry.
- You know, hard also. - I mean, even like, everyone's back. - Yeah, I see them dairies. I noticed me and he was like mortified that that was happening.
And I just like, I felt very protective over him. I just hope that it isn't read, like, I'm just like, off where this is my man.
Like, the first episode, I'm like,
we're married. That's all right, they'll let me some shit. He also, like, required that in me. He was very insecure and he would ask me, can you kiss me more in front of the other guys?
Or like, we were getting like the tiniest menace fuel argument. I think I called him annoying one time. And at that night, he was like, do you think I'm annoying?
Are you gonna like, leave me? Like, I don't wanna fuck her left key. Like, it's just beyond bizarre, you guys. It's beyond. - The audacity.
- The audacity. - The audacity. - Twins thing men have. - One thing men had is audacity. - And it's a dirty thing.
- Oh. - It's too reject on the big two. - Yeah, yeah, for sure. And yeah, he band was a me, he fooled me, but I mean--
- Hold all of us. - That's good again. - He's old everyone, like, everyone was like, what's actually happening?
“That's why the reactions on, when I was on the plank,”
everyone was like, this is pointless. Like, this is a suicide mission. I didn't ballot and thought it was a suicide mission. So she had to pull up the reinforcement. - Yeah.
- We had a tiniest one to put him on the mother if I'm playing. - Right. - Luckily, it did end well. - In that case.
- Thank you, Jesus. - But would you say he was the biggest villain of the show, or did you think like, 'cause Andrew was also leaning into the villain role for me to be a little bit.
Andrew, we really got to know him personally as far as David Benjamin.
- Andrew never looked like he was somebody else.
- Yeah. - And always acted like, he felt like, this is me and this is, you're gonna get-- - He's super authentic. - Yeah.
- It's like an actor. - And on the contrary, David is just very inauthentic. I think he kind of just mirrors whoever he's with. - Right. - I agree.
Like, I love myself so much. I was like, ooh, I like this man. I think it's 'cause you know what you're in need. I mean, he's a therapist, I think. So I didn't set some other, I don't know.
I think he's probably good at his job because he's able to kind of like mirror that even Bella y'all's conversation, like how he talked to you. He let you down like very easy.
And just like, I thought I was like so cute. Did it you? - No, literally. - I felt like I was talking to you like, yeah.
- Well, I don't think that's actually he can maybe use this to his advantage just being able to like mirror people and situations. - I think that's a good roast session. - And it's not, it's literally just the subtle saute.
I mean, come on, you know what she deserves it, so it's fine. You'll be right. - How was Gabby as a host to commentary, her narrating was absolutely hysterical? - Anything that comes out of her mouth,
you know, is gonna be good. Like you are just ready to hear her make you laugh.
“And I think one of the biggest things is”
I wanted to be so excited to see how I loved her, she was amazing. But every time she'd come out, it was bad news.
It was always something that we did not want to hear.
So I was excited, I was like, oh, like, I love you. But also like, say something good. So she kind of made it like a running joke, which I love her for as everything she came out. She was just kind of like, I know you don't want to hear this,
but like here I am. And so it made it funnier. I made it like hearted even during the really, really tough times. - I felt like seeing her from a host perspective, of course, was there, you know, of just being like,
oh yeah, we are the contestants and you are the host, but I also felt a lot more like personal with her. She'd literally one time stop production to give me a hug. Because you guys saw what I was going through and she did too. Okay.
And so I just had so much respect from her from that point forward. I mean, I always did like, I adore her. But like from that point forward, it felt a lot more personal. It wasn't just that like host contestant relationship.
I was like, you might grow up real. Well, thank you so much, ladies. It was fun to chat with you. Thank you so much. - Thank you.
- We're going to take a break and we'll be right back. We are now joined by two of the men from Love overboard. Standouts from the star. It's Tim and James. Hi, guys.
- Oh, we got you guys doing it. - We're great. Thank you. Okay, let's just get right into it. James, now you did start the show off proudly shouting.
I'm horny. - Do you regret that intro? - No, only because you got to think the context of that scene. A lot of people were saying things before the cameras are on. So I was like, oh, we're all going to agree to be
a hornet together because we're in this together. But then when the cameras came on, everybody got shy and I was like, wow, okay, that's what we're doing this season.
“I was like, okay, I felt that because that's what everyone was feeling.”
Like, this is crazy. We're not in Malta, like, with hot singles. The girls and I'm gonna speak through. So, you also made it known right away. Like Lexi is my girl.
You won that first downciders challenge to go on a date. And basically, the rest was history. What stood out to you about her? - Honestly, it was crazy because like, it was like one of those movies scenes
when I walked onto the boat.
There's all these hot girls, but like,
it was like slow, more like all the girls
moving out of the way and like it was just her standing there. Like that's what it felt like. And I was like, whoa, this is like a weird feeling. Maybe that's the person who's still like, go to, so like obviously I started combat with there,
but walking onto the boat, obviously everyone's gorgeous, but something about her was just like slow mode, just like magic moment. I was like, oh, who's that? And like, that's me, like they put this right here for me.
“And that's why I felt like in that moment.”
- By the end of the show, you guys professed your love for each other, where do you stand today? And just know, we did just speak with her. (laughing) - I mean, I would say obviously, we are on good terms,
like I wish you're nothing but the best. I think obviously transitioning back to normal life from living together for 24/7 to like, she living Miami and I live in LA. It's a little harder and like communication
is kind of harder when you're different times. Oh, there's different things and life's going on. So it was like better at that moment to be like, okay, let's just part ways and see what happens after. But it was just harder to be like,
we're in a relationship when we're barely talking, we have our own lives. And it was overwhelming for us to decompress back into normal life. - Kim, right away, you were thrown into a match ceremony
and you ended up together. But then you set your sights on Gia. What was going through your head at the beginning of that ceremony? - What was going through my head at the beginning of the ceremony?
I mean, I was looking at Anna when my first walk
on the boat like she kind of caught my eye initially.
“I had a quick, I think the first girl I actually hugged”
was Gia, but I was the first guy to the back of the boat. So I was just like overstimulated. So I wasn't, it was hard to just kind of fully pay attention. And then when I got through kind of the crowd of girls, I ended up near Anna.
So her and I actually got to have a conversation. And then ideally we got matched up for the toaster toss. And obviously Anna's beautiful, super sweet girl felt like I had to go in for that make-out scene. That was just--
- Let me help. But at the same time too, like it was the first day. So I was like, we're all here to explore everybody on the boat and like it's more connections and just see who's most compatible. So obviously there was a connection off the bat with Anna,
but I was definitely very open after that. - Talk us a little bit through your strategy of the game versus pursuing a potential love interest.
You know, you're originally a top cider with Anna,
but you saw something in Gia, which could have put your position at risk. - Yeah, I think it was more so just like, I was just gonna go for it, you know? Like obviously she had, she had a connection with Beau
and I had my eyes on her and I was like, I'm just gonna put myself out there. That's the whole point of this show and kind of whatever happens happens. That's just kind of, I'm a big believer in like fate and destiny.
So like, if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. At least I put myself out there and let her know how I felt and thankfully, you know, it did work out. But as far as strategy, like, obviously I would prefer to be top-side as much as possible.
Like I like the highlight. - Yeah. - I don't like being on the downside. - James doesn't. He's staying down there too long.
(laughing) But yeah, I also felt like if I'd built like a strong enough connection or there was a strong mutual connection, like everything else is just gonna work itself out. So that was just kind of my mindset.
There wasn't honestly a whole ton of strategy in my head. It was really just like, you know, hopefully find a person that you can actually see yourself building the future with. - You guys are both in the final three pairings with David
and Beau, how did you feel about that David low-valve triangle and then his ultimate decision to stay with Belle? (laughing) I didn't like it. I was very close with David for the majority of it,
up until that point. And I lost a lot of respect for him after that. But as like time progresses, I gave it some time, like as soon as it happened and then like, David and Belle walked up to the top side
after they were like a new couple. I remember just like completely icing David and kind of death Larry Hampton say we're doing and then after like a couple days I cooled off and I was like, you know what?
I'll have a conversation with him and try and understand his perspective on everything 'cause it's just like giving the benefit of the doubt. We're all on this crazy environment together. I definitely didn't like how he, how he did low.
That was not cool asking, asking her to be his girlfriend and then, and then doing what he did on his date. Yeah, I didn't have a lot of respect for that. - James, what about you? - I'm a star with I'm a man of you make your own decisions
in life, this your life, you look, we're not here to make friends on this, on this job. Like this is not a friendship show, like I get it. But there comes to a certain point
“where then line up, you have to own your actions”
and own the bad things you're doing in. It came to a point where it's like, okay, I support your decisions, but now you're doing stuff where it's like you're justifying certain bad decisions. Okay, I can't support this now and it's like,
you're digging yourself a hole and then trying to be like, oh, why did it? 'Cause it isn't being really mysterious about why you're making certain decisions. Okay, I can't support this and especially
Who it, how he did the girls, especially on the plank,
obviously from the show, we're out there longer than what it's shown. - It's very long, this is not a normal long, like we are out there for like damn near almost an hour, where it's like, okay, there's no way
you're sitting up there really thinking about life and all this stuff in this moment right now.
“So that was the thin line of, you need to own up”
what you're doing and like you're doing both
these women that are amazing people so wrong
because you're like, oh, I need to really think about like, no, be a man, own up, decide if that's not who you want and send her home, why would you leave these girls up here to really embarrass them? It was like really embarrassing when it comes
to how he was doing it and like after that, I was like, bro, I was here for you, but now we come to a point where it's like, the one person that supports you, you're going against everything because I can't support you,
going forward after this. - You were on the final plank with him. I mean, both of you were, but were you surprised when that plank dropped for you and they stayed?
- I was 100 and 1,000% surprised because the fact of the matter was like, me losing to someone that did that the whole season was just like, wow. - Especially everyone was like,
oh, this is James Leixer, a perfect couple, but the fact that we had no boats and I go before him was like, yeah, that was okay. This is so crazy.
- Both of you guys and your parents,
I thought you were definitely the final two. You falling, I was like, wait, what? - That's who I was, I was in the water like trying to swim and like, what the, why am I in this water
“right now? - And Lexi was right after you too, right?”
- Oh, yes, yeah, yeah, because we're like, especially on our boat, our interview after, I was just speechless because I was like, there's no way that I lost to somebody that was going through the show, doing some crazy crap
and like, all that, there's no way I lost them. This is not real life. - That got me and Jeanne there was too because we've lost that happening really like, holy shit, like if James and Lexi can go over
right now like, so can we, yeah. - Yeah. - So yeah, we were competent that it was gonna be James and Lexi and me and Jeanne. - I was too, it was pretty shocking.
- Yeah. - Speaking of the plank, who would you say had like the funniest speech or the most shocking when they were on the plank to try to save themselves? - I think the craziest interaction that happened
was when Anna and Sophia were up there with Andrew because all the planks that happened before that,
we always assumed that like the two people on the plank
were speaking to the person that was making a decision. We didn't realize anything's fair game up there. Like you can talk to the other person on the other plank. So when Anna started going in on Sophia and calling her manipulative and just crazy,
all of us were looking at each other, oh my God, like you can do this, like, so just brought like a whole different dynamic to the plank so that was definitely the craziest for me. - So who were you guys closest to on the cast now,
besides each other, like, well, that's it.
“- I was saying, I think the core for people”
that it really closes me, Lexi, Tim and Jeanne. And everyone else is more like cordial, like we keep it because we're still a cast and like growing to each other but like, from a distance because, and cry too because we came together, we started to show together
and we had a different bond than other people. So it's a little different when it comes to outside. We still talk and I have a group chat and like, keep up with each other. - Tim, let's talk a little bit about Jeanne.
Where do you guys stand today? You won. Let's hear about the trip. I'll also was so cute to see the pictures at the end.
I want to hear about the trip around the world. - That's it. - Funny enough, that was just a cute, funny, like gag thing that we did at the end of the show, like just with production. So we still haven't taken the trip yet
but we're planning on doing it. So we're super excited about it. - Okay, so are you guys together? Tell us what's the relationship status. I mean, we're taking the trip around the world.
Is it justice friends? - A lot has happened. A lot has happened, a lot has happened on the boat. A lot has happened since. We're both living in LA but you're just gonna have
to follow along and find out what it's easy. What was the most fun experience for you guys on the boat? Or off I guess because there were a few dates that you got to go on to. - Ooh, dang, that's the crazy one.
There's so much to happen. For me personally, I would say that highlight was the date off the boat and it didn't like your own hotel room. Like the view, especially like a special moment with your girls. It was just everything off camera too.
So it was just like enjoying each other's company rather than being like all around camera again. We got that like be good. It was more like we're in a hotel room in Malta. Like did you really feel like they could?
- To my memory, I forget a lot of the stuff that's happened to us in the early five but there was one night where we were like we were all off camera and it was, I think it was like the final five couples or something like that and it was like eight at night and they were pretty strict
with obviously the alcohol and stuff. But there was like a couple bottles of wine that were left out. And we got a TV, so we were watching a bunch of reality TV. All of us were just sipping wine and like playing music and that was just like really fun.
It was just like a great like camaraderie bonding moment with everyone. That was really fun. - And really quickly, so how often are we talking to Gia? (laughing)
- Like, are we taxiing to we talk on the boat? When's the last time you saw Gia? - Very, very recently, very, very recently. - We're keeping a bag, okay. Okay.
(laughing) - We have to watch Mary, we have to watch and see what happens. Is there anything that you guys would do differently?
Any regrets or just something that you would have changed
or was it like the perfect trip for you guys?
- I would say it was like the perfect trip for me.
“I think for me, sometimes I go on the other side”
of like not being too worried about other people 'cause I was like that person on this show would be like, people came to like their problems. So it was like, if I was less that and taking everyone else's problems
and focusing more on like my relationship and my personal things happening,
“I feel like I would have done that differently.”
Other than that, everything was amazing.
Like the day filming all day, every day, like it was so amazing with the cast that I had that everyone was so amazing to be with all every day. - Yeah, I wouldn't, I wouldn't change a thing.
“I'm like a big believer in just like everything”
happens how it should and like, I wouldn't, yeah, I wouldn't change a thing. It was just a once in a lifetime experience.
I met some amazing people like lifelong friends.
So yeah, it was pretty perfect. Like not many people can say they spent a month in Malta on a yacht with other good-looking people and you know how you're eating good food, drinking good wine, like it was amazing.
- Yeah, casual. - Yeah, casual. - Nothing too crazy. - Well, Tim, we look forward to tuning in about UNGA and we highly recommend everyone tuning in
to Love Overboard all nine episodes on Hulu. Thank you so much, James and Tim. It was a blast talking to you. - Thank you so much, guys. (upbeat music)
