TJG: The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 17 Premiere!

- Welcome back to Judgy Girls.

This is Mary from The Bay. And it's Courtney from LA. And it is the 17th of real housewives of Atlanta. 17, that is wild. They can see our rated movies now.

(laughs) Like the movie that started the episode. (laughs) Okay, how did you feel about that opening? Did you think it was gonna be Cynthia?

I was like, what is happening here? It's a little too kitschy for me. If we have to be gimmicky, is this like a foretelling of the season? I also don't love Cynthia being on it

because she primarily lives in Los Angeles.

“So I think she exclusively comes for like eight weeks”

and films and then goes back to LA. Alla Dolores for Rhode Island, Alla Meredith Marx for Salt Lake City? Yes. I don't like that.

What, you shouldn't have like Bailey anymore? No, I think she still owns that property, but she's in LA all the time. She primarily lives in LA. And I know that because she does her podcast with Crystal.

She's on Jeff Lewis all the time. Her daughter lives out there. So what you're saying is she's quite available in the LA area. Yes.

I don't like when people lie about where they live. Is she lying? You feel like an angel. An angel. There it is.

I just didn't understand why we were doing this. It just seems strange. And then she like turned around. Now what else is going on? I don't know, Cynthia, you don't mean to me.

I also love when we started new season and we figure out who is opening up the season. Like for this episode, it was Fajra with her son and they're talking about his homecoming dance and what his qualities are in a date

and she has to basically be hot

and she's like, what about smart?

“And then he's like, you should go for Drake, mom.”

And then I thought, did she break up with her boyfriend? Which she did it because he's later in the episode. I was, then it made me think, has your son met your boyfriend? I don't know.

Does he know his mom is dating? I unclear. I know. And then after Fajra, which I think we had said to with last season is we thought that Fajra came in at the end

and had that guarantee for this season. And so it was like, okay, we're opening with her. Then we go to Angela and Charles. And I'm obsessed with Angela. I love her, I think she is actually one of the most

honest and open housewives of this crew. I don't feel like she's acting for us, even though she is trying to act for the her husband to make sure he likes her. But there's something about Angela

that I am like, I love this no F's attitude. She's going into this season with it.

“Yeah, if you want to make up a rumor that my husband”

is sleeping with the candy lady, so be it. You want to say he wakes up with pink rollers and his hair, go ahead. Nothing's gonna bother me this year. I also think that Charles is hilarious.

He doesn't care about the cameras. At one point, she's barbecuing. There's smoke everywhere. And he was known as the cook, the chef last season. And he shows the camera like, now look at this burger.

Like, he looks directly into the camera, all of the office. And I was like, this guy doesn't give a buck,

which is kind of amazing.

He's so funny because she's concerned like, oh God, is the burger gonna be good. He takes a bite. And he says it's good, but then he also tells her daughter when she comes out, she's like, can you get me my fan?

He's like, can I get water? Can we have water? Because it might be a little dry. And she's like, make sure the water's clear and not Murphy because on a podcast,

Charles said someone slips something in his drink. The night we got married. I love that she was calling him out on his shit. She's like, you went on the podcast and said you drank something.

And that's why we're married. What is wrong with you? And not only that, you're insinuating, I did it. - Did she start that fan business? Where are the fanjellas?

(laughs) Wait, I genuinely can't remember. You just made that up, right? There is no end business.

she was doing a fan business.

Okay, you named it. No, no, no, I don't think I need to,

“I think the fans of Angela's were fanjellas.”

Okay, and I am one of them. And I will buy the fan, because I know she's staying cool. I love her, I just think she's so funny. And the bickerson's that they have, it's not like the Adrian and Paul level of bickerson,

which it kind of might have looked like last season. Now I think their banter is just part of who they are but in like a healthy way. She's like, hug me, touch my booty. Okay, like, he's like, okay, like I love Charles Oakley.

I love Angela. I think she might be my favorite housewife on Atlanta.

Ooh, I am loving this pudding.

Came a shell. I think she's gonna be a great addition. She's kind of my number one girl. And I would be on say personally invited her to the cowboy card or concert.

Paula Flowers, Porsche trying to slither her way into that. Okay, it's like, no honey, I'm the real deal. And you're not coming to the concert with me. Porsche is so funny, because she's like, you know, they say we look alike, we were like,

and I'm moving like, I don't know that you guys look alike, but sure, came a shell so tiny. I don't know if I'm Porsche, if you notice, when Porsche walked into the photo shoot, Porsche literally puts her back at like a 90 degree angle

from her legs to give her a hug, like the way that she hugs her with it. Had to go so low down, I was cracking up. Like, Porsche as a came a shell is gonna be on my side. Now came a shell has had reality TV history

and is still shocked on what's happening on this show. Yes, so she has been on the Queen's Corps, and I believe love and hip-hop at Atlanta.

“And I think that's what she was talking about,”

how Atlanta is a Mean Girls City, and she gets really angry with Porsche and she starts crying. And it feels like people kind of betrayed her maybe in past reality TV shows, or she really got hurt.

She has a pass, or was that the X? And she recently got married. She went down to the courthouse, married her dentist.

Okay, something that I'm always like,

if I was looking for a partner's, I'm with love for them to have a skill set that would benefit me. Imagine having great teeth, nice and white, pearly white, the best one.

And I'm paying like zero dollars for 'cause I'm getting the friends and family fee. Free 99. Rue could have benefited going a doctor casted because her new veneers are wild, wild.

But came a shell, I really liked her energy. She's getting the loadout from Porsche on who everybody is. We're finding out Porsche, she's finally divorced. And she feels like she could start dating again, and I'm like, what am I doing in my own life?

And everyone is very shocked that Porsche is still in the home because this was Simon and her's marital home. I, it's also kind of unclear of his finances because it feels like there was a lot of muddy water with that, but she somehow ended up with the house

and is paying the bills on it. Is he still around here because wasn't he deported? I don't think he's around to anymore. She said none of the girls ever even met him. He did when he was challenged husband,

but they haven't met as Porsche's husband and ex-husband. The last person that Porsche dated that they had met was Dennis, the hot dog king. Which feels like centuries ago at this point. It's centuries, medieval times.

Something about Porsche 2 is I said this a glass is, I don't think that Porsche is a good leading lady. I think Porsche is best as a sidekick as a number two and might could K Michelle be the leading lady and Porsche be her number two.

So we think that was happening with this crew, especially in the premiere episode, is the fight for Queen B status. And within trying to be the Queen B, the lines have been drawn on who is getting along with who,

who was aligning with who and something that I said on Beverly Hills was, we would love for these girls to stop pretending like their friends and just come out and say you hate each other.

“It feels like that's what's happening here.”

(laughs) They just have to say it. Or is Fadra gonna be the Queen B? In freakin' crack, unite. Fadra is to me though, is not a good Queen B either.

She can't even get her story street. This Atlanta Hawks game wears an incident happen with Angela and the girl that Fadra was with came up to her

And Fadra said, well, I've got the tapes and that's not true. And in the confessional couldn't even finish the lie and said, what? Well, no, I haven't seen the tapes,

but I did request them. And as Kelly said, you have that much pull to get the security tapes with the sound? Okay, badmava, Jama. (laughs)

But her in admitting in the confessional that she didn't have the tapes was absolutely hysterical. Like the timing of it was perfect. We knew she didn't have the tapes and so it's like it's crazy to even call that bluff

because it's like laughable. It had me giggling. Okay, Kelly and Shamia. I'm loving this friendship. I love this, they're best friends.

I didn't appreciate Shamia's basket to her daughter, Chloe. Don't put condoms in alcohol and a basket for my daughter going off to college. I'm not promoting that abstinence in both ways.

Okay, so this friendship is a friendship of convenience for me.

“I think when Shamia's like, that is my BFF best friend”

forever. My support she was that last season for you. So you and Kelly have had about a year and a half history together. Matt, that's being generous.

Max year and a half history. She's your best friend forever. You guys have this alliance where you're like, Shamia's gonna be the top dog. Kelly's gonna be her sidekick.

The way that they were laughing and overdoing it to me was too much.

Shamia has her second season.

I think downfall happening here, and she has a good first season. I think the second season's happening as I believe it was Kay Michelle, who said she's got a new body. No, the only downfall for Shamia right now

is the Mohawk Wing. I think we're being nice calling it a Mohawk Wing. It's a mallet. (laughing) That was business in the front party in the back.

It was bad overall. I was cackling though when Kelly and Shamia were talking about Porsche banging in Simon's house. Did that make you big old?

“I think that they're gonna realize that they're the mean girls here.”

I think, especially after this episode too, because Porsche was way too nice to them. I see this as a downfall, and I see their friendship ending after this season. Now I did check in on their socials,

and they're posting a lot together right now, but I do not see this lasting forever. (laughing) They're gonna just be BF, not F. Sure, that's friends F now.

I'm sorry, we're now in four and out. Yes, yeah, I thought it, I gotta take you.

I was gonna be in a second, but I'm proud of Shamia.

Shamia has a rum company when she went to Granada. She is looking for other opportunities, so she doesn't have to spend Gerald's money. We, it was a rum company. What did you think she said?

Courtney, I thought she said she was in a rum com. (laughing) And I was like, huh, this is really fascinating. A rum company, okay. When Mary's note you guys know,

Shamia has a rum com coming out. Is there trouble in her marriage? Because I started getting suspicious, because she was like, I wanna be able to bring in my own money,

and then obviously her husband was unable to go to this couple's dinner. He was quote-unquote stuck in Charlotte. He didn't wanna go. He might be stuck in Charlotte,

but he wasn't gonna go anyways. And then it just made me think, is there a little bit of trouble in the marriage? Is he not supportive of her being on the show?

“She hasn't been, that's what Porsche said years”

before the reason Shamia never was on the show

was because he didn't necessarily want her to be. She ended up joining, obviously she's been a friend of for so long, but she got that peach last season. It's like he's never coming to these. He didn't come to anything last season.

I think he's going to support her from afar. I don't think him being there was that crazy. I think Cynthia even said so too. Like, why would he be here? He never attends these things.

But you do bring up a good point because when she says that it's a couple's thing, she's trying to hint him. She wants him to go, even though she knows he's not comfortable being filmed.

So is there trouble? Yes. (screaming) I've got that wrong comment that it come out soon. (laughing)

Okay, let's take her break and go to Porsche's party. So Porsche decides to throw a party. She thinks it's called the majestic island, but it was really the mystic island. She had to redo it again to say it again

and still got it wrong. The ghost of Simon's past walking around throughout the house. I love that people are just so obsessed that this is Simon's house.

And then just talking about her, a screwing around in that house. It hasn't a gig on. Okay, it was also funny to me because I'm like, I can't even believe

we're having a couple's party when Porsche's not in a couple. Who is this man? Drew is in a weird, whatever. No, no, let's talk about him being on the phone. People are like, this was a paid actor.

They had a ringlight on.

He never even went to the bathroom one time.

That was so embarrassing on every level. But Drew is embarrassing. That's the thing. Drew does not have any shame. She lives a level of embarrassment

as her regular life, Mary. What was more embarrassing? Fiding out the Ralph is still downstairs in the basement. Her having her date in the phone or Cynthia bringing a doll as her man.

Okay, I'm gonna give her a pass on Ralph living downstairs

“because I think that was a court-ordered thing.”

We each saw last season. So I don't know that Drew can necessarily get out of that. I'm gonna say that's not her fault. Okay, they're phone with the ringlight and the full, I mean, he was on that from the time she got out of the car

to the time she left the event.

Cynthia bringing the doll is just like funny to me

because he does not live here. Yes. And she's in the serious relationship with him. Yeah, like I think she was just doing that to be silly as opposed to Drew who I think, again,

with the level of embarrassment, wanted to do that because he couldn't physically attend, but she wanted everybody to know, she's got a man. Where does he live in the phone? (laughing)

You saw it. Yeah, I'm really curious how far. Okay, but then Angela and Charles come. Charles didn't get the level to wear a black. Neither did came shell.

Fager comes with her younger bow. And everyone is there, but Shamia and Pinkie. And Kelly, Kelly comes late too.

But Kelly is bringing a guy who's the town bicycle apparently,

and he has been with everybody in this group. And you know what, Kelly was married for 11 years, so she's gonna do what she wants to do. It was funny though, because obviously, people had different call times for this party.

Did you often know, too, that the dress that Porsche was wearing, Paige has worn a version of this. It was like a brown suede when she wore it on for Love Island, and she wore it to something else. And I hate this dress so much.

Oh, I really liked Porsche's hair at this event. Oh, my God, it was so cute with that little flip. That was a really good look on her. She should keep that, her de-coming. She comes late, and then kind of asserts as the man of the house.

And by the man of the house, the man of Simon's house. (laughs)

“But don't you think Porsche was pushing him into that?”

I feel like she was like, give a toast. Thank everyone for coming. They haven't slept together in nine months, and I feel like they slept together one time. She hit it and quit it, and she needed a date for this party,

and so she invited him. But she didn't need a date, wait. She threw the party and made the guidelines. It could have been a regular party with no dates. I was thinking this man was a hired actor,

because I couldn't figure out what their relationship was, knowing that they had slept together nine months ago at some point, I was like, wait. What? Have we seen him before?

I thought Mike was quite handsome. Well, he was her quote unquote friend friend, and so then I wanted to call Mike Mike. Mike Mike Porsche's friend friend. I mean, he actually got down on one knee.

He did, and I'm also worried, we should check the files because of Kelly's a real officiant. Could they be married? Oh.

Okay, so let's talk about who is feuding right now. Yes, let's get in there because there's a lot. There's a lot happening. So Fadra is upset with Angela from last season. And she recounts that George Jefferson,

June bug, who I gave money to, that made me the godfather of Atlanta, and I started toast gate. And there's just like a lot of unfinished business there. Who do you believe in this situation?

Are you team Angela or team Fadra? Well, I'm a fangella.

“So I'm going there, but I think for this one here,”

I ain't going to need to reset and align together. Something happened, though. Fadra really started the whole thing last year when she was like, wait, Charles is married as if Angela's not a cast member on this show.

Like she was already starting to get the wheels in motion here. And so for that, I'm going to go team Angela because she doesn't want any rumors. She just wants to have fun. No, Fadra is involved in some way.

but I do think there is a connection there.

I hope more surface is about it to be honest because I just need to get to the bottom of it. And then we also have Fadra and Drew fighting from the reunion. And about what though?

Like some of these fights, I was like, I don't even know what we're actually feuding about. I mean, you're telling me what we're feuding about, but this is such small potatoes because anyone that Drew is feuding with, again,

is just an embarrassment because Drew is a liar. We know from years of Drew is that she's a big liar. Well, Drew was team Angela.

“And then after the reunion, I think she realized,”

Ooh, Fadra's coming back and she's going to be queen B. So I want to align with her and be friends with her. And Fadra's like, absolutely not. You're the one that started all this shit with me. And you're super team Angela.

Why would I be friendly with you? Which I understand. Right. This one says Drew is embarrassing. Oh, Fadra, you're going to be a fan favorite.

I want to be on your side. Yes. Fadra's played this game plenty of times. She knows how to go from the highs to the lows. She knows what she's doing because also Drew isn't slick about it.

Drew thinks that she's being like,

Oh, she'll never know my motives.

And it's like, it's written on your face, babe. [LAUGHTER] I'm also curious what will Fadra's storyline be? Because for the most part, she's like a narrator, I feel like. But isn't that Cynthia, too?

Yeah, so I'll be curious what Fadra is willing to share with us.

“Yeah, where it's going on with the mortician business?”

Does she know any Haitian morticians? OK, this makes me think. I have an idea for the next Amazon jury duty. And what if they did it at a mortician place? There could be so many angles there.

It sounds bad, but fake dead people. But imagine all their families coming in and stuff and being able to tell these crazy wild stories about the person-- what about more of a funeral home route? Yeah, then the morticians office.

Well, they're all together. OK. It wouldn't be very funny. I mean, now I'm literally thinking like, we're going to mortise, and the body sits right up.

Or something, like, oh, god. Is that what your mind was going with the dead body? I just thought they were, like, the prank is one was still alive or something. No!

Don't involve me! [SIGHS] Courtney, OK. That's brilliant. That's brilliant.

I was just thinking the angle of like the Gatella ton of stories, because the person's not alive. You know?

And then we'll could never have been collapsing.

And then just like all the interesting people coming to visit them. Yeah. Anyways, there's something there. OK.

Is it Fager's Business? She should start that storyline there. There you go. Perfect. Back to the show.

So let's talk a little bit about Pinkie. She owns Slutty Vegan. And seems very well-known and connected in Atlanta. She's also filed for bankruptcy in real time. Like, in the past couple of weeks, she's filed for bankruptcy.

“I think it's funny that she's aligning with Shamia.”

So she goes over to Shamia's house before. And this is when I'm talking about the call times for everyone, because by the time she's at Shamia's house, everyone's already at Portia's. True.

And they're pretending that they're going to wait for Shamia's husband to show up. But he's still stuck in Charlotte. Like, you don't-- you have his location. But she's showing her acting chops for her romcom.

I thought that Pinkie was dressed for a funeral here. Well, they all were. She had the netting over her face. There was, there was giving me, like, if we're going with the morticians storyline here,

that she was, like, the wife of the deceased. OK. Yes, yes. But she's a mother. She's that girl.

She's got the magazine covers. She's got it all. She seemingly is a big deal within her mind and potentially at Lanta. And she doesn't eat me only her man.

Yes, she made us aware of that. That should be her tagline when we get the taglines. Imagine the only meat I eat is my man's. (laughing) Chimea and Porsche, they're still feuding.

But I think this is more of a one-sided feud

I think Chimea knows we're all the bodies are buried with Porsche.

Like, they go so deep with each other. I don't think Porsche really wants this feud. And so she's like, welcoming Chimea into her house.

“Because Chimea's like, I think she forgot”

I was on the group text. Very Carl and Lindsay housewarming, sure, sure. Well, Porsche, I think knows that the show has to work with them getting along. It doesn't really work with them fighting the entire time.

So she's willing to make a men's for her job. But she doesn't genuinely mean it. Oh, you think so? I don't think she means it. It's not coming from her heart.

She says I have no ill will towards Chimea. But then Chimea in her confessional mimed their text conversation, which was a lot of middle fingers, some punches and some f-use. So I think Chimea is cautious with Porsche because she knows that maybe this isn't coming from the right place

and maybe from a job perspective. I don't think she's cautious. I think she's like the line is drawn. Like, I think she actually hates Porsche, but she's not matching her energy at this party.

And so she has to downplay it a little bit is what I'm feeling. I think Kelly and Chimea have talked off camera 'cause they're B1, that's the thefts. And they have said, this is our show now.

Porsche is not the top dog. If I go back to being friends with Porsche,

I'm always going to be Porsche's sidekick

and that's not how it's going to work anymore.

“So that's why I feel like Chimea is ready to burn that relationship”

and never make it, but because Porsche's being nice to her at this party, she can't come in as hot as she wants, which is why you kind of see some looks from her and some like, hmm, okay, great.

She's sucing it out. The group is very fractured because Chimea and Drew are also in a fight. Tell us why Chimea and Drew are feuding and where we're at with that.

Drew does an impersonation of Chimea of her sorry video. But Chimea kind of goes a little rogue in the video and she's like, I could have gone a lot harder on Drew, but I don't remember why they're fighting.

I honestly don't either, I think,

is because Drew was aligned with Porsche.

Oh, it was the singing thing, too. They're both singers. It doesn't make sense because again, every storyline with Drew is just so silly, but Chimea doing an apology video on her YouTube channel

and the impersonation from Drew where she was like, I'm sorry. I don't know why I'm sorry, but I do feel like I need to make a mens because then it gives me a clean slate for me to go after whoever I want for the following season.

“I'm telling you, I think Chimea is going to have”

a downfall this season. I think she's going to get too big for her bridges and she's going to go down. I just, I'm kind of like with Pinkie, I'd be out smoking the cigars choking on them

because all of this feels very confusing. Everyone is fighting with everyone and no one wants to be friends. The group, I feel like it's Kelly and Chimea. Pinkie's with Chimea though, I would say.

Actually, she's not because Kelly says Pinkie isn't a girl's girl. So, she means Pinkie but also Chimea and Kelly. Yes, do you think that there's drama because of slutty vegan versus her chicken and waffles restaurant

is there restaurant drama? Oh, and is that part of the lack of support for Kelly? Is feeling is because they're in the same business in the same inner circle. I'm sure, no a lot of the same people.

And Pinkie and K Michelle, they know each other because they were in the same sorority. Right. All of the angel and Wendy. Yes, so all of us, yes, and Amanda.

Jesus, stir. But so they're aligned. They said they will play Switzerland. She's going to be in the middle. But kind of like the OG is like Portia, Cynthia,

Fadra all together. I think K Michelle will more align with that group. Angela, Oakley and Drew are like by themselves on a nylon. Oh, I would say they're with Portia.

Drew's on a nylon. Well, she swims between the islands because she's a flip flopper. Yeah, yeah, she's got floaties. She's just going wherever.

But Drew will align with whatever makes most sense for her. So if the majority is Portia, Fadra, I mean, she's trying to make a men's with Fadra, right? I think she wants to be on that side of things.

I think she realizes, I don't think that it's wish me a, when she was like, so where's your husband? And she means like, exactly where your boyfriend is? In the phone? Oh, this is crazy that we're literally fighting about partners.

Yes, one could be fake. And then one just doesn't want to be on camera.

Yeah, I'm really curious how this will go, because it's annoying when people like couple up and there's teams and there's alliances. They need to go on a cast trip soon and have some fun. I like those that they're all being relatively honest

about who they don't like in this group right now,

“because I think the worst is when they're pretending”

that everything's okay.

The cast trips are always interesting though,

because I think the alliance is start to change and then someone jumps up somewhere else. I think K-Mishelle is starting with Porsche, but I don't think she's gonna end up with Porsche. She'll be more on Shemeya's side.

I think she's gonna be leading her own alliance. Oh, who's gonna be a part of it? Hopefully Angela Oakley. I, and I could see Drew going over there because K-Mishelle is successful in the music industry.

She wants to be more successful. Shemeya won't go over there because she's her own star. It's kind of like K-Mishelle, Porsche, and Shemeya to me seem like the H-B-I-C's right now. Okay, well, okay.

But, Adra, Adra, she's not a queen beat of me. Really, Porsche isn't either, but they really rallied around Porsche Bravo itself for last season of her return, her being the star,

“but I think she just does so much better as a sidekick”

to be fair, none of them are really the H-B-I-C. They're just all competing. They're all competing to be, and I think K-Mishelle could be. I think Angela doesn't care enough to be,

so it maybe she could be. They're all competing to be the top dog and nobody's there yet. K-Mishelle will get there. I agree, I agree.

Like I see a very big future for her. I see her becoming a fan favorite. We need to listen to K-Mishelle's music.

So she has her first country album.

She has a lot of R&B albums, so we ought to support her. I think she's a star. She seems to me like a good addition already. There's definitely going to be something with her husband. I feel like you're going to lean that up.

They've known each other since the ninth grade. If something's going to happen with that, I'm assuming. They did say they said, "Who fights the most "to have the makeup sex?" And he says, "She doesn't.

"She does have very well." You know, she fights a lot. You're right, right. It's the way you're hoping not. I hope not.

Wait. What? The couple who previously appeared on marriage boot camp? Quietly tied the knot following a decade long courtship. They're so together.

Oh, thank God, at least they're so sweet. When did they do marriage boot camp?

“Don't you have to be married to do the boot camp?”

That's called marriage boot camp? So apparently they were in marriage boot camp in 2022. And then they got married in September of 2025. Can you Google for me, too? I believe Queen's court was last summer, perhaps, too.

This is making more sense because she went on Queen's court to get him to finally commit.

Come in. Yes. She's playing the long game. The Queen's court was October 6, 2024. So they do marriage boot camp.

Then they must break up, then she does Queen's court. And then they finally get married in 2025. Okay. Also, what's funny, too, is it says that her height is 55. If you told me for 11, I'd have believed it.

Well, it's just that hug from Porsche. She was able to go to a straight 90 degrees down. But I guess maybe Porsche was in like six inch heels or something. 55. You're not believing all these heights of people online.

Okay. I think. Porsche's five eight. So I guess with that. Okay.

I thought the premiere was a stronger premiere than how I felt about last season. To be honest, even though I'm sure I said that there was a good premiere, I think with this cast, there's a lot that could be happening. I'm excited. We will be watching this.
