Welcome to our daily rural dream meditation.

begin in the name of the Father in the Son and Holy Spirit. Amen. Let's call the mind all those we promised to pray for.

I believe in God the Father Almighty Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ

is only Son our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Palette. Was crucified died and was buried. He

descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven and he

seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life of everlasting Amen. Our Father who art in heaven, hollowed be your name. That kingdom come like will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us a stay or a daily bread and

forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us

not into temptation, deliver us from evil. Amen. Hey, Mary, full of grace. The Lord is

with the blessed art thou among women, blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy

Mary, mother of God. Pray for us in earth, now in the hour of our death, amen. Hey, oh, Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with the blessed art thou among women, blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. God. Pray for us in earth, now in the hour of our death, amen. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, as now

never shall be rolled without end, amen. Our first mystery, after graduating from law school,

and before he was married, Thomas Moore lived for four years at the London Charter House,

near a carthusion monastery, so that he could participate in the months life of prayer and self-mastery. This helped him develop his own prayer life, which enabled him to overcome vise and become virtuous, as well as to discern his vocation to marriage. In these four years, he learned not only to rely on his own wisdom and effort, but the need for the grace that came from the sacraments and prayer. And as a result, he began the spiritual practices

that would maintain the rest of his life. He became a husband, father of six children, a lawyer, a statesman, a theologian, an author, social reformer, and the Lord high chancellor to King Henry VIII of England. The highest ranking officer in the government next to the King. So a pretty busy guy with a lot of responsibilities, yet he started each day with meditation, study, and mass. Thomas Moore wrote, "If you love your health,

if you desire to be secure from the snares of the devil, from the storms of this world, from the hands of your enemies, if you long to be acceptable to God, if you covet everlasting happiness, then let no day pass without at least once presenting yourself to God in prayer, falling down before him flat on the ground with a humble affection and a devout mind, not merely with your lips, but from the innermost recesses of your heart."

Daily meditation, a resolution and examination of conscience, where the foundation of the daily life of Thomas Moore. Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name, that kingdom come by will be done on earth as it is in heaven. "Your vests are daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil eye men."

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us in earth, now in the hour of our death, amen. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

As it was in the beginning as now, never shall be, world without end, amen.

Oh, my Jesus. Forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy.

For second mystery, many wrongly believe that if you want to become holy, you have to

be a monk or a nun. Otherwise you just get married. But Thomas Moore had a spiritual director who helped him to see that Jesus gave us the sacrament of marriage as a double mission to holiness and to build the kingdom of Jesus by having in raising faith-filled children.

This shows us how essential it is for each one of us to have a deep life of prayer.

He married Jane Colt and they had four children, tragically in the sixth year of their marriage she suddenly died, leaving him with four young children to raise by himself. Within 30 days he married the best woman available, Alice Middleton. Thomas Moore was realistic about marriage. He wrote, "I do not think it possible to live, even with the best of wives, without

some discomfort, and generally we make our wives worse by our own fault." Moore was known for his indifference to what he wore in what he ate. He had extra ordinary flexibility and serenity in the face of unexpected change. On the summer of 1528 the country suffered a severe famine. That winter he fed a hundred people a day, then just as a most welcome harvest came

a fire broke out caused by the negligence of one of his neighbors. The result was the destruction of all of Moore's barns, part of his house, and several of his neighbors' barns as well. Thomas Moore was out of the country when he received word, "yet without hesitation." He sent a letter to his wife telling her, "We must, and are bound not only to be content,

but also to be glad of God's will, after all." It was God who sent us all that we have lost, and since he has, by such a chance, taken it away again, his pleasure has been fulfilled. Let us heartily thank God as well for adversity, as for prosperity, and perhaps we have more cost to thank him for our loss than for our gain.

For his wisdom sees better what is good for us than we do ourselves. Therefore, be of good cheer, and take all the household with you to church, and their thank God for what he has given us, and for what he has taken from us, and for what he has left us, which, if it pleases him, he can increase when he will, and if it pleases

Him to leave us yet less, so let it be his pleasure.

We then told Alice to find out what the neighbor's lost, and pay for their loss. Then if it was necessary to sell the land, to provide provision for the winner, and to

do that, and be at peace, it's amazing.

So I think the second thing we learn from Thomas is be responsible, but be detached.

Our Father who art in heaven, how it would be your name, I can come, I will be done on earth as it is in heaven. If us are daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with the blessed Arthal, among women blessed, it is

All glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, as now in the Versailles be, world without end amen. Oh, my Jesus, for give us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to have an especially those most in need of thy mercy.

Our third mystery, say Thomas Moore, took personal responsibility to form his children in prayer,

the content of the faith and virtue, and so important to him was the formation of his family, that he was even willing to change his career rather than neglect them. He wrote, "I assure you that, rather than allow my children to be idle and slothful, I would make a sacrifice of wealth and bidded due to other cares and business and attend to my children and my family."

And there were three principles that God did the formation of his children. First, his greatest effort was to know and understand each of his kids individually.

The only way to know what each kid needed was to know them, which takes real intentional

time. So Thomas Moore sought to be friend his children, to know, understand love and care for them, and lead them to the divine teacher within. You can't just give kids knowledge about faith. The content alone is not enough, because belief is to trust the person who reveals the

content, to accept what they tell us as true and to act on that truth. And since Jesus is the one who reveals the content of the faith, we need a real personal relationship with him. So just giving kids the content or the facts about the faith, it's not enough. Thomas Moore knew he must lead his kids to a personal friendship with Jesus in prayer.

And finally, Thomas Moore knew that ultimately it was not his responsibility to make his

Kids holy, but it was his responsibility to make sure his kids had a holy down.

Our father who art in heaven, hollowed beer, name, that kingdom come, that will be

down on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us a stay, our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who

trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil amen. As it was in the meeting, as now in the Versia will be world without end, amen. Oh, my Jesus. For give us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to have an especially

those most in need of thy mercy. Our fourth mystery. When Thomas Moore was 41 years old, King Henry the eighth asked him to enter his service as the Lord high chancellor. More knew this was very dangerous, because Henry the eighth had become infatuated with

Anne Bolin, and he began to search for a way to divorce his lawful wife, Catherine of Ergon, Henry petitioned the Pope for an enrollment that the Pope refused, because it was a legitimate marriage, in reaction, Henry proclaimed himself both the King of England and the Pope. Then he demanded everyone in England take the oath of supremacy, rejecting the Pope as

ahead of the church. Thomas Moore resigned as Lord high chancellor, and he refused to take the oath. So Henry had him convicted of treason, placed in prison to be executed. Yet, through this all, Moore had a remarkable sense of humor, trusting God, and forgiveness.

Moore had learned that a sense of humor is one of the most powerful weapons to overcome

fear, pride, anger, resentment, and even pessimism. In fact, right before he laid his neck on the executioner's block, having grown a great gray beard, he looked up to the ax man and said, "I pray you, let me lay my beard over the block, let's do should cut it also." At the end of his life, Moore frequently expressed his desire to be married together in heaven,

even with those who were responsible for his unjust death. This from a man, who had every reason to be angry and pessimistic, he had been betrayed

By his closest friends.

There was only one bishop in England who had joined him in resisting the tyrannical

king.

He was stripped of everything he owned, even his reputation, every one abandoned him, even

his wife and his own family. They had all taken the oath, yet Thomas forgave them, and he held no resentment. Why? Because of those three things, because he had a remarkable trust in God, which enabled him to have a great sense of humor and the virtue of forgiveness.

Our Father, who art in heaven, howl it be your name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us a stay, our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who

trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blesseth our Thalmung, women, blesseth he's a fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy.

Our fifth mystery, but how could Thomas more be Mary to the very end?

Because his sense of humor was grounded in the trust in divine providence, that absolute confidence that God works all things for good for those who love him. And this conviction helped him keep everything in perspective. While in prison, Thomas more reflected on the story of Joseph in the Old Testament and the way that Joseph trusted in divine providence and God worked everything for his good.

Reflecting on this, Thomas more wrote, the brothers of Joseph could never have done him so

much good with their love and favor as they did him with their malice and hatred. Nothing can come except what God wills and I make me very sure that whatsoever that be, even if nothing has ever appeared so bad, it shall indeed be the best. Our Father who art in heaven, hollowed be your name, that kingdom come thy will be done in her, earth as it is in heaven.

St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God, review, can we humbly pray, and do that old prince of the heavenly host by the power of God, cast into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits, and prior throughout the world, seeking the root of souls. In the name of the Father, in the Son, in the Holy Spirit. Amen.

True, so I want to get your thoughts on Thomas Moore, but I want to let everyone know that at the end of this conversation, I'm going to share a wonderful prayer for a good sense of humor written by Thomas Moore.

So, first of all, I really think a good resolution for today is to keep this phrase in mind,

all for the good, all for no matter what happens. Very simple. All for the good. That's a good response. It reminds me of you used to say, is it, uh, Arabic word? Oh, humdala. I was actually thinking in shala. Oh, in shala, that's even better in shala. But this is the same tone and it's an English. This, all for the good. All for the good. Whatever happens. What is, is in shala, God wills it? If God wills.

But these are, it's kind of like, I have a bad habit of responding to everything with say lovey. That's life in French, but I mean, that's a pretty common phrase, but it can almost become like a vocal tick and I think all for the good has a much better meaning. Yeah. It's not because that's life,

sounds as if it's dismissive. Yes. Ah, that's just life. You know, what can you do?

It doesn't mean much. All for the good. Wow. Yeah. In fact, say lovey could almost be a little bit despairing, but all for the good is full of hope. Yes, exactly. I like that. It's a very simple resolution. So you want to hear this prayer for a good sense of humor? Okay. Here we go. This is from Thomas Moore. I love it. Grant me a Lord, good digestion, and also something too digest. Grant me a healthy body and the necessary good humor to maintain it. Grant me a simple soul that

knows to treasure all that is good and that doesn't frighten easily at the side of evil. But rather finds the means to put things back in their place. Give me a soul that knows not boredom, grumblings, size, and laments, nor excess of stress because of that obstructing thing called I.

Grant me a Lord, a sense of good humor, allow me the grace to be able to take...

to discover in life a bit of joy, and to be able to share it with others. Let's be apostles of friendship, good conversation, and the rosary. Share this with others.
