Hey, hey, good afternoon.

I usually were opening and we're like there's nothing good about this morning

This is actually an incredible afternoon. Mm-hmm. I have a question for you. Yes. Do you have any kidney infections?

That have happened recently any more hospitalizations? No, are you feeling well globally? My flank is doing well? Yeah, no nausea, no headache. Okay, nothing. You nothing needs to be looked at by a doctor. No, but if I did Then it would be your luck, then it would be my like a day because we have So break it as from the pit joining us live in studio. Hi, we didn't know her side. Oh, no way we're acting

Wow, yeah, it was a professional chemistry. We should let's roll it back. Let's do another angle. Okay Yeah, let's let's do a couple more. Maybe we'll be extras. Maybe a doctor. I don't know Do you feel like if you were at a restaurant and because we have talked about this specifically for us before and there was an emergency And someone was like is there a doctor in the house? Do you feel like you'd be like kind of I mean? I I think like the caveat needs to be I don't think the person could survive if I were to work on them

But I think I could do like CPR. I think I could do CPR. I was like trained in that for the medical bootcamp for the show

But I think everything other than that probably not

Welcome to disrespectfully with Katie Maloney and Dana Kathan on apologetically We're here to do what we want to do spilling the tea babe You're going to see the power of women like disrespectfully just in case you guys haven't caught on to what we're talking about Are you living in a rock you know the artists are pretty sharp and savvy. Yeah, I don't think they're living on a rock

But yeah our guest today is on the incredible award winning show the pit

We've and we didn't really mention that. Yeah, I'm just going to go right into it But yes amazing. Sorry if I if I was choking on something I would prefer doctor my hand like honestly I'd be like I like I'm gonna roll the dice here and I'm gonna try the high my feel actually be the first to notice it Like I think should be like something's off and I need to do something right here And then she might have like decision process and be like is the hype like the best maneuver or is another one the best maneuver

But she would she would take care of you. I think she yeah, I think she would too. Okay The first question off the bat because if you're watching the show

What you're not you should be I feel like most of these people are hmm. Do you feel like she's slowmo?

Talk to my like what do you I want to know your thoughts on your character is she too much I said is she a little it's not so quick to make a decision like how do you feel about I think that's what it is That's the way I understood her when I got the audition I the nickname was in the character breakdown and I think a lot of people kind of interrupt as she moves slowly And she talks slowly and I was like I don't think that makes sense

I think it would make way more sense if she just was anxious about making a choice if she was just thinking about the thousands of things That could be happening with her patient and she just wants to make sure she's covering all of her bases and that was something I actually Even made sure was was noticeable and the tape that I sent in So yeah, I mean, I think she is I think she can be slow-mo

But I think in the second season she's found a bit more of a balance I think in in pacing with with her patience

Yeah, speaking of like the character breakdown of the audition process How much were you aware of the knowledge you were going to have to obtain to actually play this role? So I got the first three episodes when I got the audition and I I mean, I'm a South Asian woman. I go out for a lot of doctors So I basically read every script that was a medical show for the past two years up until that point and

I got I got these scripts and I was like this reads like a medical textbook and also This is incredibly accurate because I have a little bit of a background. I was like premed Oh, no, we were gonna get into that No, I was learning last night. I was like Fascinating, so let's put it in that and get back to it

Yeah, but yeah, I mean because of that I was kind of like oh, oh wait this this someone here actually knows what they're doing because like it's the first time that I

I've read something that that actually was accurate and right and I didn't have to go like oh, this is stupid I need to turn this side of my brain off. So I was like pretty aware of what they were going for And then even before we started filming the the references they gave us were not any medical shows or anything like that They gave us like documentaries like they were like, this is your reference for what we're trying to do And then I remember seeing like the first few sets of daily's and I'm in what we were going for

With the lighting like we don't really use artificial light. We just sort of use like the overhead lighting which is why we all look terrible And it's it's it's just like really really crazy like the level of realism They were they were going for right off the path um, so I think like sort of Stepping right on. I kind of I kind of knew what the tone was But you were not intimidated by that because you had some

Base to go off. Yeah, I mean I I think I started off not intimidated and I think more of it

I did I was like why did I think I could do this?

This is so crazy. I mean I just listen to you guys just rattle off that dialogue like it's just The ABC's I'm over here borderline a literate like That's that's it with even with normal dialogue in terms of being an actor I feel like there's a certain amount of challenge that comes with that

But then it's basically a second language. Yes. Yeah, and

We have a lot of doctors on set and I even asked someone who's pre-med Can get really frustrated by what I feel like it's like a barrier to entry where I'm just like why would you be like You know like the bottom right atrium. I can't just buy be like the the the right bottom thing in the heart And if there's like a reason why you're saying that or like there's a There's a specific Latin where you say like QRN which is like four times a day and I I'm kind of like why wouldn't you just say four times a day

And so if you are in and there's like there's a reason why they're saying all of that and it's like hard to like really step into the mindset of like Oh, like all these things mean a really specific thing and there's a reason why they're not just using fake language and they're being specific So yeah, it's it's definitely there's definitely learning curve I Had less of a learning curve than some of my classmates so I'm just like I have no idea of a to that

Because it was still incredibly intimidating for me after a certain point when I like caught all the information of what we would be doing

Here's the thing we need to do your foreign right now because this might be at the suspectfully first

I know Katie wasn't I certainly wasn't Cassie. I don't know your life as much

You were valedictorian which is and well in my in my high school in my high school, but I mean like you never asked me if I was or I wasn't

Where you know Oh my god I kind of I feel like you guys give valedictorian Five so wow Before I love that for us. I love that so then you went to Columbia and you were studying you got your degree in neuroscience and a minor women and gender studies

That's very important. Okay, to me at least. No, it's amazing. So what how did you cuz again? This is me being creep and good. But how did you end up you were starting to audition while you were in school? What was the pivot there because you would you intend it on medical school? Yeah, I mean I was so I grew up in India and I always knew I wanted to act like this was just something that I deep down really wanted to do and like my parents just weren't On board which is like so fair to them like my parents didn't like come from money like they didn't like I mean they they ended up like

You know climbing so chicken on the clip before they had us which is like I'm so grateful to them that I've never had to experience that

But they've they've seen some hard things and so when I was like I want to be an actor They were like absolutely the fuck no, that's like you were not doing that like how old were you when you started expressing that to them like easily like five or six Like I was like really young And especially like in India this is like in a sound and saying like in my mom at one point was like girls from good families don't do that Like she basically was like only horse

This was like this is like so long gone. She obviously feels really differently now. Maybe she doesn't I don't know She watches the pit and she's like so much of my body stuff But yeah, she like they just weren't really that on board at the time and I get it because like they just didn't want me to struggle and so You know, I basically went down the whole pre-med path and I was applying to colleges in the US because I was born here and I kind of wanted to come back for higher education

And I was only applying to colleges in New York and LA

I think I was like lying to myself at that time where I was like I just want to be in like a big city

But it really was just so I could have access to you were in applying the schools and which it does Kansas? I was not no No, Ben's to which it happens. There's no Television or theater in the dream But yeah, I I ended up getting into Columbia which is like my dream school

I see remember when I got in I like collapsed onto the floor and was like crying It was like one of the happiest days in my life and yeah, I got in and sort of like from freshman year I started um doing theater um then I started auditioning for TV and film and I would say around I think it was about like junior year where I was like I think I really need to get this a shot Because I could just I can just go back to medical school if I really

I really wanted to do that But you know, I I I think I just wanted to make sure I was giving this all like off Well, we have we have listeners Write in all the time and ask our advice on in terms of taking a chance or you know a risk or doing something

Putting something often really like yeah, absolutely go for your passion while you can and like you said you'll have a degree It will be there when you get back. Yeah, what was the defining moment like I'm curious with your parents?

Did you have to sit them down and have a comment on your like hey?

So I am actually going to act what was that like I think there was just some sort of like I remember there was like an explosive fight I had with my dad and I think he just didn't really understand at the time Why it was happening but then I I got him on the phone. I was just like I think I just really need to do this and

He was really emotional and he said something like I thought I was going to b...

You know when I was growing up in India and like I just didn't want you to experience that or any version of that and she he was just like I just wanted to be able to help you you know like if you were like I'm going to be a computer programmer or software engineer I can I can like you know make sure you get like like a job I can't help you with this at all and I was like I know that's okay I just have to do this

That was really that was really it my mom like was more supportive from the get-go and she found out I was auditioning I will say the first time they saw my name in the credits of a TV show was when they were like fully supportive like they were like oh She's not being pretty good. And now you played duck dirt on tease. Yeah, it's like it's sort of like a full circle It's sort of like everyone is happy now. I'm just fulfilling their fantasy Watching watching me on screen. They're watching it manifesting. Yeah, they're like maybe eventually well

It was really funny because like when it was very clear. This was like working out Before I got the pit but like you know I was like making a money off of acting off like commercials and and and rolls My dad sat me down. He was like have you thought about an MBA and I was like no I can't I'm not gonna do an MBA right now. That would be the worst financial decision ever

So I'm sure like they're always gonna like push me to do something like that just because they're they're brown and they look

Well, that's what he's gonna say obviously it comes from a good place

So any parent wants you know what's best for their kid or better than they have. So I'm sure I understand it, you know Yeah, no totally. I mean it took me a second to like get it. I think just because like you know like I I remember vaguely what it was like to like have Not that much money in the beginning of my life, but then my dad were you know really hard and and got really lucky and

That changed so I I don't remember I remember bits, but I don't really know what it was like to be them and not have those resources So like I can't you know I can't imagine the level of just like fear and And trauma they have problem growing up in that environment, you know

ETSC's realm. Yeah, but you're also living proof of look at theory that I always have that

The smartest most intelligent people love reality TV. I think that it's so true I don't know what they I don't know the science behind it. I didn't go to college We weren't all the trainees. So you're the value torn up my heart. Well, thank you But I have served purpose absolutely yes. I've been a cautionary tale of anything so I'm happy for that Well, I mean I I you know it for context right before this I was like asking like Katie about her life and

And just sort of being like oh or do you still live here and do you so whatever like I'm like a Vanderpump rules

Super fan like I love the show and I actually like I the scan of all season I think is like one of the best

The best season to reality TV ever did you guys went in and I mean for that we were nominated that I think the episode our final episode in in season 10 is one of the best episodes of all reality TV ever I watched all of Jersey's shorts. So I would know Was some curly rewatching and it is I don't remember being so violent. It's pretty I know it's upsetting with 2026 eyes

But also because we just did a whole thing about America's next hot model and you so all oh my god Do you watch documentary? Well, yes, I did watch the documentary and then I also I remember watching it in India and like Kind of going like I like this doesn't feel right, but maybe this is what it's like to be a model in America Then I watched the documentary again like I want to say a month ago and I was like oh, yeah

I wasn't being crazy like this is observed spooky scary stuff and Tyra blaming us, but you know Conversation for another time when she was like you guys wanted more. We're gonna give you more We don't want and we know we don't want but nobody has for that No, I mean it was of the time too. Like I don't know how old you are but growing up being a teenager in the early 2000s like I still have I've bought like vintage magazines like a a Cosmo girl or a teen magazine from there

And it's like lose seven pounds by spring break. Like why was I reading that? I have no business

I have no idea and I'm like I'm sad that's what I'm gonna write in some ways and then we turn on the team

Yeah, it's pretty loud and this is like guys right now. Yeah, hey guys, um, did no one else watch this movie? I do like the outcome Well, I need to turn on the TV and Tyra banks is calling some 110-pound girl fat, so like it just it all Yeah, ties together. It'll tie together. Curious. Do you watch all reality TV? Like are you big reality TV? Person was at a Vanderpum specific. Oh, I'm a big reality TV person, but I'm not a big competition reality TV person something about that

Like doesn't really I feel like the most I can go is like love island because there's something about that

Where I'm like that's Greek theater or like that's just so amazing really no literally like we are gods and we get to like move

These barbies around that's so

Yes, but well just again like honestly like Sims like you're watching when I ...

There's like these monitors up just like all the different camera angles in the the villa and they were asleep during that time And they just felt so weird as it can be like turn this off I feel like this is a weird science project. No for me for me. Well, they were just leave it on Well, do you know about the Stanford prison experiment? No. Yes, but I couldn't I mean

I've definitely been familiar with it. Okay, I mean basically it was like completely unethical and like screwed up

Where they put a bunch of men in a basement in Stanford and pretended it was like a prison and They gave some people like prison guard clothes and some people Like your your prisoner and gave them those clothes and it was really crazy like I believe these men They were tested to like not have any type of aggression before this nothing like that and it was really crazy because Like I think three days in they have to like stop the experiment because people just really bought in and like really

Like they were they were like curtain to other it was crazy and like this is a really extreme example But I find something like love island really interesting in terms of like the roles people Like start like playing into because like you like it's really like it's such a controlled environment the concept of time Doesn't exist. It doesn't exist. Yeah, like they get up when the producers want them to get up They go to bed when the producers want them to go to bed. They essentially meet up and talk only on camera

Everything's recorded all the time. There's just like weird set of rules that

They're subject to that no one in real life would ever be subject to and it's like I like I think that's what's interesting to me about it

Because I'm like you're watching human beings exist in this like really specific And they do all sorts of sentences. Yes, I was using with a little fuzzy mic It's like they're they're pukishelles at the time. Yes. No, it's crazy and I bet you just like forget you're wearing the mic like I bet you just forget You I mean I Yeah, like been the mic moment. Well, like oh, I'm gonna make a vote on you're like oops well

But the reason why I love Vanderpump rules very separate from Like love island is because I it feels like performance art and I'm sure it must feel so strange to you guys Watching it back if I don't know if you watch it back actually you watch it at all. Yeah, of course Because the thing is I like I know what I film and I know generally like what my stories and as it relates to other people

I don't know what other people are filming and yeah, there's always the element of like when we have like our interview bites of like yeah

You know and I've gone to the point where I know what goes into it. I know what the I know the vibe And it's not to be taken too seriously, but like that's when people's feelings get the most hurt

I think is yeah people give those in a re-bites more than anything totally. I don't care

Well, it's because like the future whole-trust babe. Yeah Well, it's because the producers are like trying to get you to say something. I mean Yeah, but I I'm like pretty firm when I'm like listen, I have to own whatever is I say So as much as you want me to say that I would never say that and I can't I can't get behind that And stand 10 toes down on it. So lip I try to offer and I'll turn it that's sort of the work around

But you know, I don't know. I maybe I was just going to become incredibly dis sensitized to things like that, but it is you know

Yeah, I don't know. I know people always ask that they're like is it real and producers definitely inform certain things

And they're looking for things and they highlight certain things, but it's also like no you but those people did say that or you did say that or you did do It's like we say the control environment. It's like we're living and playing by different rules That don't exist in the world and you don't even notice until you got like I've spent the last Couple years being out of that game and just kind of seeing how different things operate. Yeah Because it was like 10 years of your life right. Yeah, and I just got used to it. You let so many

Things slide so many so much bad behavior go just because you're like all right. Well, that wasn't real because it was for the show

dumb bit you which we are both scholars at and have come out on the other side of particular our audience. We like to hear that. It's a little bit of dumb bit you right now which is fine but sometimes it's crazy watching back and you're like oh my god on earth was I thinking at that time or do or putting up with and whatever and I only was on it for a season and it was I don't watch it back at all. I have new interest in that. Like sometimes I'll

get tagged and ticked talk. That's so interesting like the difference in yeah. I mean it frustrates me to know when friends with mine, they're not friends with mine. When people I know are like it's all fake like nothing's real and I'm like it's not like there's like a middle ground. It would save me a lot of shame. It'd be like yeah totally.

I'm fortunate for me like there's been too much real. I think there is a lot of stuff that

is produced and you can usually kind of step it out. I mean it becomes more than obvious. Do watch see her lives a Mormon life? Yes. Do you have any thoughts about what's going on? I feel like it's going to take me a minute to to process everything. I think it's just like such a complex situation where I'm like you know I want I want more information and it's also soon. So I'm just kind of like like what is going on there. I will say I think the thing that like

people maybe aren't seeing if they're just seeing you know like this is Taylor and she's on the bachelor at um and that's like the first time they're interacting with her. I've been watching super get lies a Mormon wife and like that man is insane too. Yeah she's extremely manipulative. Like they're like they are just caressing on a fire like they're just back. Look and I'm not a psychologist I'm sure you're going to be shocked to learn that by when you

were talking actually about Jersey Shore earlier watching some of that back with Ronnie and Sami there's I look it up I can't remember what the acronym stands for but Darvo in terms of reactive abuse and people being pushed and then totally the way that before that video started what was happening between the two of them and and I'm not at all exusing her favorite part. It's yeah it

who knows but I just think that globally I think two people can both be wrong in a situation.

Yeah I mean no Darvo is like the first thing that came to mind where I just like I just don't know what's going on here I'm only seeing like a clip and I'm like yeah I feel like it's just one of

those things where it's like time helps. Like they just should never have been allowed or encouraged

that they film a television show together there's I understand like they need to co-parent their kid they need to work that out with the correct proper channels to do so but having that ever be a thing should have just not happened I think they were aware of a lot of things and saw a lot of things there's a police report to back it up and like hard to remember the current season they're

Filming 24/7 which is like something I tweeted about recently like it's like ...

for like two years um but like they have like four or five seasons out like they're filming 24/7

which yeah I mean I'm only on a TV show with a very you know extensive schedule and I mean that's just like so tired I cannot imagine like they haven't had a break and like on top of that there's just this like weird dynamic going on between two of these castmates where like physical violence was involved and like they had to pause because they were just like we're uncomfortable continuing to film which I'm so glad they did for the safety of everyone involved and also the the fandom of reality

TV you know you get to play characters people are gonna actually hate you if they don't like your character on TV but or you know some people are weird and delusional but when you're putting it all out there your own life it everyone is gonna have you know an opinion about it and what right like

that's a really challenging thing that you are putting yourself out there as you and your

personal business do either of you know because was that video from 2023 okay so had it already come out ever or was it just recently or just came out I'm sure the people that powers the necessary eyes have seen it I'm so my question about that then is why were they right now why were they able to fit why that should have to me been a like fireball thing back then if you're talking about the executive producers the show runner if they knew that was I don't know I can't like I'm

just saying allegedly I'm sure they were but they were aware that maybe existed but I don't know

them maybe it's seen it yeah yeah and I think it was released right now strategically strategic I

think it was strategic I don't know screw but like it's I just don't think it's like it was probably

him but like why not like as this like why wouldn't you do it before she goes to film it well

because this is the most embarrassing moment to do like she's about like her season for the Bachelor at was about to come out you know like literally right now did you watch tell me lies um no but I know enough about it people are calling him Dakota de Marco so it's like really terrible just abusive weird character and he was strategic in certain moves he made like held on to things for years and so again it's like oh yeah that was you know fiction versus non-fiction but I see

them for a while right yeah this this past season of warming wise is a really tough watch especially Taylor because I'm just like damn girl like you could just you everything about her just screamed I am deeply and wow yeah and of course like I mean she had just going through all the stuff with like her mom with like her biological father stuff with yeah Dakota but like throughout it all she's I don't know I just I just wish someone would have been looking out for her and supportive

of her and her mental health more than they were just about maybe creating a television show just

that's what that's what issue and I come from reality TV and I don't I and I love it of course

and I love so much about it but like there's there's a really fine line between drama and now whole thing in the in the mass of it all and in a in a bordering on an exploitive and like just whole big-ing problems worse totally I mean I think for me like the thing that really stood out to me was just how often they're filming yeah it like I don't think they get breaks it like they're filming so continuously that you get BTS of their regions from the previous

lives in the next season like there's no break there's no break and I think they do because I mean with the with social media and how well like much they are on social media and how much they share I think they're just trying to keep up with that because it's just it people move on from things so quickly that they're trying to to keep a certain pace I just don't think it's sustainable so I don't I don't know I think they could benefit from maybe taking taking some

take take five take it be I think that in terms of and you're probably going to be shocked to learn this that it's a super toxic environment right so it's like especially someone with mental health problems it's yeah not going to vote well well especially the level of fame they rose to yeah I think you know when especially for me like when the pick came out and like it suddenly just blew up and it was like everywhere like that transition for me you know like initially it was it was hard

like my life changed like it was weirdly I mean it's strange way was weirdly traumatic getting the job because like my life changed and like five seconds of even though I'd worked towards this for 10 years but then it was also like weirdly traumatic you know walking down the street in New York and like all of a sudden like like losing your hand and emitting yeah like a little bit and and not really knowing how to get that and I really you know used like my hiatus is to really sink it as I am right

now to just sort of like even accept the reality of like what my life is but I cannot imagine

what it must be I mean like like secret why is a Mormon life just became like this phenomenon and they've just they kept going like I like I actually feel I feel for them because it's it's so crazy to just be able to like look yourself up online and like all these people just have opinions about

You that you've like never met like that's like a weird place to be about lik...

their relationship and their families and I think that's what I mean like there's one thing now

you're a very recognizable person but still people don't know much about you as the pieces so they get to still have at some element of privacy which is just bizarre I mean at the same rate there's are you familiar with what's happening with chapel around yeah lot going on and not going on there I mean also one of those things where I'm like I need more time to figure out what you do like how are you feeling now that you're like have all this attention on you

I mean I think you know I if I'm in a headspace where I can't deal with it I mean I'm also like huge caveat not at the level of fame she's up whatsoever like I feel like your are tap around well thank you that is the most flattering thing anyone said to me oh wait um no I mean I do think that like I have so much empathy for what she is going through in a weird way before you make it I think you kind of look at you kind of look at people with a level of fame and you're like

oh my god like once I get there my life is gonna be so much better like I'd like this is all I want

or like you know I just want to be able to make art and so like the fame's gonna allow art whatever and then like even having like an eye out of that because like again not comparable to what Chapel Rowan is experiencing but like even having an eye out of that I'm like oh I don't want it anymore like I don't really like care about it in the same way that I did anymore anyone else who like has broken out I'm just like oh my god get ready for like how surreal this feels like it's it's really

a lot and you know I just I have a lot of empathy for what she is going through I will say like like the biggest thing I've had to learn is like my own boundaries and like what I need to do to like respect them I mean I'm in just recently there was like an event that was sent my way it's like if I'm going to that event like there's gonna be like paparazzi there there's gonna be like you know and I'm just like like do I like we just finished like an award season push and it was

like so busy and I just like do I want to deal with that this week I don't think so I'm just I'm just gonna say no you know I have to say no yeah in our in our 30s I think we really have gone to that place saying no is it knows a complete sentence I'm like no to my way into obscurity if you like at this point people are like oh you're so alive no but it's it's really so true like sometimes you just

have to like for yourself just say just say no yeah well taking it back to the first season of the

pit because kind of like Mormon wives obviously different type of show but it was it blew up so in my I remember any idea like this is gonna be you yeah like what what was the moment that you were like

oh my life is completely and forever change I mean it's really weird but I had a feeling when I saw

the script because I saw how medically accurate it was it read like a textbook um and it's really funny because like I once was at a party with an executive I'm not gonna say from where who but this was before the show came out and he was a development executive and he was like this show not gonna be a big show like it's not gonna be big and I was like wow like that and he I was like why and he was like well it just it just reads like a medical textbook and in my head I was like and that's

what's special and interesting about like I just have to strong gut feeling had you already filmed like the first year yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah like okay thanks a lot well but I I actually ran into him at um at the party the after party after we won the Emmy and I was like oh hey like we we did fine but it was just that I like I had a feeling that it was like big mistake huge big mistake huge now will you buy me clothes on? but you know I I just had a feeling just

because it was so different and the real time thing about it I was like no one has done that with a medical show ever yeah yeah yeah I just I just think people crave things that are different

and I mean it was a lot of unknown faces I think people also brave that yeah yeah you're

trying to looking at the same faces I mean like no whiley all day long um but yeah another so many

like so many good faces I'm also always like it's always jarring to me when I hear them talk like

in an interview saying that I'm like oh that black sand yeah Darren Karen who's who's British Shabana's Australian she has a flawless American accent she's so good also I feel like Australia people a lot are like truly the best at that and that is every time you hear them I'm like okay Nicole goodman I mean drink first we like that is so impressive she's able to do she's also doing and she's doing like the like a British accent I'm just her publishes she's doing

like a British accent for the show she's doing over hiatus and Australia she's so talented I love her and then yeah baby Jane Dow baby Jane Dow I love I love okay yeah and just I know some people are very critical of it but like I like I want to fall asleep to her reading calm stories you know the calm app people read stories on that I would love that put it out there it's just

Dana Dana saying baby Jane Dow I've ever done that who's your favorite person...

I I mean people know this it's no secret like Shabana and I are like super close and how do you hate

I can't say that on camera I'll do you do you not get along with do you get along with everybody's everyone like a family or is there like I mean I have to because like it's just you know like we're stuck in a basement together essentially so remember like going in just kind of being like oh my god I hope we get it long because otherwise it's just gonna be fucking off what is the time in which you film oh so we shoot an episode um over nine days which is like two weeks um because

it's like the weekdays we don't work weekends it's the time um and we do about nine to ten pages a day yeah I know and then it's like crazy because it's like an 80 page script and then we cut like almost half of it like down to like a 45 minute um episode um and we're essentially filming like when I see seven eight months here oh yeah that's okay because I watch a lot of like behind

the episode things which I think is fascinating that's how I found about there's like a medical boot camp

that wrong yes yeah this is the most intense thing ever and then also like a question I have is how long does the blocking take because the way because it's all shot like that's like a

3d 60 yeah says essentially so how long does that take to slow? So I the first medical scene that

we ever ever first like season one episode one it took so much time because I don't remember these gurneys were like coming in and like this is you know just this whole like like thing we need to shoot we don't know how to shoot this like we need to make this medically accurate but also we can't like actually intubate this person so like how do we like fake this intubation it took so long and I still remember and John Wells is directing and he's an absolute genius um

and I was so happy he was directing because I was like if it was anyone else I feel like I just like what are we doing but I just remember I like sat in the corner of like that corridor leading

up to like the trauma room and I was just like I'm freaking out because I literally don't know how

we're about to do this and then we did but yeah that first time was really hard and then it just got

faster each time and now it's just gone to the the point where like even with the newer people like we've gone into such like it for them of it that it takes maybe like like 30 to 45 minutes sometimes if it's a really complicated scene we will do a medical rehearsal before just so because like we're like really trying to mimic the procedure to it's like medical accuracy the most that we possibly can without actually you know intubating or putting a catheter down someone and so

like like there's a lot of like like work that goes into it but we've like gotten much faster at this point well obviously because you were going preamad I was going to say are you a squeamish person but yeah because there's not a lot of blood and the stuff looks so accurate the what do we want the not the dummy bodies but well they're all practical effects and yeah some of them are dummy bodies we had this like really funny moment on set the other day like I want to say like an april

april what what what what what what what my January like December or January it's actually like 2028 it's 2028 what is going on well it's really freaky because like you lose all track of time because like it's one day filmed over seven months and it's like where am I I don't know well there's just a really funny moment where we were doing background and we had this like life sized all of our patient like in place of this person because we had the doll and

Shibana and I were talking to each other over like the doll and then she started talking to the doll and I was like what are you doing and she was like well I want to include him in the conversation and I was like that's the doll like it's not like the actual actor like the least look so like like but like it's like sometimes fools even not since freaky like the actor of that doll I remember like life size doll I'm gonna know what I call it dummy like like he was like I can't look at it too long

because it freaks me out yeah like I'm looking at myself okay perhaps it's a super question because I'm picturing like a crash test dummy do they make the dolls look like the actor yeah it's okay

so it's like fully like that like that's why she got confused because she's just like is that not

is that not the guy and I'm like no like she was like what were you being mean and not including him was like the bathroom doll um no it's like it can get really confusing and our our special effects people are just like just so incredibly talented and so no it's like I I have to watch sometimes with one eye because I'm like I don't know if they're gonna be able to just abone a female or just I most most of it is practical effects which means like there's like an

actual thing looking like that in front of you we've actually talked because I put that on my daddy was before practical effects because you can just completely tell the difference because one of my gripes that's like daddy and basement is the cheap CGI which we can tell the difference you can tell how they're trimming the budget and as we move into the new AI world practical effects are keen it is the most realistic looking it's the most exciting it's I feel like worth the investment so

people need to open their pocketbooks for it yes and I mean I like like maybe I'm wrong and this

Will be like in posterity like forever that I'm just like wrong but like I th...

part of the reason why I just think that you know like AI just isn't gonna take over in the way that people think that it is because I just think there's something about humans making something. I'm keen to that especially when it comes to like life performance as well like good luck getting an AI ballerina yeah yeah I mean well I just I just feel like it's so easy for me to tell that it's not a human being and I don't really know like why I can tell like it's just like this

weird on candy value and like look maybe I'm gonna look like an idiot and in like five years you won't be able to tell the difference and I'll just be and I'll be like okay great these like beings are gonna take my job like what am I gonna fucking do about that but like especially art

I'm just kind of like you can always tell when you know someone that's not a human

someone that's not a human what a sentence has has made something because it's just missing missing like a little something I mean humanity we we talk about this all the time because I fucking hate AI but it's just like this is what makes us us as it's how we connect it's especially through our telling stories originality we when during Christmas time coped at a commercial that was in a I can't remember the number it was like a thousand prompts when so it's like

we probably could have cut that way down just people were doing it but it's like there's like a goddamn chipmunk with like six fingers that looked like a person and like a fourth tail and we're just like you guys like the uncanny valley yeah yeah there's just something even if it's subtle

that's just off and also I think too when it's when it's something that like when there's live actors

working with these types of effects like even just even if it's a subtle thing with them of

like their reaction to it's gonna be different than if they're having to just like imagine yeah no it's it's much easier for us on the actor yeah as the actor because I'm just like I know exactly what I'm looking at I know where to look because like sometimes you like look here and like the actual thing will be here and you can like see that from some angles so yeah there's like I want to say like only one percent to two percent of our effects are VFX which is an outlier yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

for sure for sure and but it's it's crazy because I'm like you know I just prefer practical effects of it as like an audience member like everything everywhere all at once all of that was a crackle yes they didn't use VFX for that and I'm like I can tell it's just it looks so delicate

and beautiful and um yeah intentional every group has someone who insists on doing things the hard way

The movie I saw last night um project Hail Mary they didn't use effects they was like actual

things I need to watch that oh watch that Sandra will always learn my favorite it was so good yeah

I believe it everything I've seen someone called it like gay in our cellar that sounds like

something I would love yeah exactly is it accurate like do you feel like it's like like queer in our cellar um I don't know what's necessarily queer about it um it's like they're the practical effects the practical effects is gay you know maybe if I used my magic um I don't know I was like this is just a more fancy version of mac and mate did you see no I don't know what that's not mac and me no no sister that's maybe maybe it's one of maybe it's one of them

you guys please look it up it's so funny it's basically like the teamu version of ET okay I mean I think we should just do a queer remake of that was a really great like uh musical dance number in a McDonald's in the movie so interesting I mean I got a while we can't wait um we didn't have daddy list I know we're sort of we're sort of botching this a bit well I I that's a medical type prepared for daddy list and basement you know it doctor my hand would too so I do really

good about that okay who is on your daddy list guess first so the biggest thing on my daddy was right

now is Korean full body scrubs I mean it is the most humiliating experience of your life when you do it but I feel like a new human being heavy heavy guys ever yeah like the Husky woman went to town

on me yes real bad but then I never felt smoother my life no and also they you're you're so naked

and so out there and they're moving around like a pretzel they beat the shit out of you but and you just like you I felt so shy about that but then she's like no we've seen it all like get over here through a little bit of the table have you had did you have your first one really happened first one recently and I will say there was this like incredibly mortifying moment when I was like flipping for my front to my back right just all the dance came that was on the table and

I was like this is fucking awful but I I feel great just just sat in the steam room for like 30 minutes after that just fully decompressed got a dissociate a little bit too so you're going to take in what just happened to you but it feels so good yeah feel so good although like I don't know if I could do that unlike a busy spot it like there was one other person in that room with me and I was like I don't think I could deal with more yeah that was it I think that was one of the

most alarming bits about it was that there was just like these stalls with people and I'm just getting water chucked on the water like he's literally like pour the bucket on the end back and like getting water for no that mine was they took me to room it was just the one and it looked like a hospital room of sorts and I was like what did I just sign up for this might be the saw basement that's my pants over here you didn't go to a I didn't go to a communal one but

perhaps I should get the full experience that's a can and event right there yeah okay so that was my that was I mean I have several we want them given to us okay um so also um on my Dallas are Google calendar invites for catch-up sessions with friends because I I know that's

like so fucking annoying but I'm just like I need to remember that I need to call you and update

you on my life and like at this point my schedules and I will always look at my calendar and be like

what am I doing next and so if you just send me like an invite I'll be like oh I need to talk to and talk to Joe at this hour and that's like in my calendar or I need to talk to Dale at this hour and like it's in my calendar you know absolutely especially everyone is so busy every like that's a most shocking thing about adulthood besides learning you have to feed yourself constantly and like figure out how to do that oh my god it's also everyone is busy in life so it's

so easily can get lost in the sauce if you aren't a lot of time for it and treat your friendships like like romantic relationships you know like if you had a partner and you would prioritize them like that I also would prioritize my platonic relationships like in that way you know I feel like that's like a very like if you're queer you're like doing that you like kind of view like your friendships in a very like romantic way to if that makes any sense like I'm just like I want to

make sure I'm prioritizing you and like stand on the same page well yeah I mean we taught that's like one of the pillars I feel like of this podcast fundamentally platonic love is not valued as much in our society yes and especially when you're talking about heterosexual relationships it's like that's the endgame that's the price so if you don't have romantic love then you're not shit apparently but it's my platonic relationships are so I wear both that way yeah no sex in the city but it's like

the whole thing like what if your friends or your soulmates and like they are who can or should quote sex in the city I just we always say we were just talking about this last episode we recorded

Sex in the city is a documentary we speak the office in sex in the city great...

same page okay also also my dad list is oh hi tortilla house which if you've been to oh hi

I need to go to this place I have the best case idea of my fucking life I've been I love oh hi it's

so special but I've never been there I need to go there I've been to I love oh hi but I've never even

heard of that okay great so go it's casually but it's like genuinely fucking incredible I've like told way to many people about this case idea and I like not to cancel myself like don't even like case ideas that much like I love case ideas but like I'm not like oh my god this is like my favorite food ever but there was something about that where I'm like I would drive all the way up because they even probably make bomb tortillas and I said the same way like home state I like

tortillas have become like a hyper fixation for me because I love home state tortillas and the cheese and then I add black beans to it and it's perfect yeah so that's on my diet list dental cleaning just because just because I need one and I'm like I like dentists you belong here

this is like a perfect daddy list great you feel unstoppable after you come out of a T yeah I'm like

like I like it's on par with the Korean boy's crap you know what I mean right I have one of those like dentists like the metal like scraper things that they go between your teeth was one of the mirrors and I was doing that this morning and I was just getting in there my gums were bleeding where did you get that off market where did you get the sealer right or is there a Wittock shop the amount of shit that she buys on TikTok shop she's angry I'm such a satchard slow

gizmos galore I bet you're like some persons like dream but they're just like what but who do we need to sell this thing to and they're like Katie Maloney yeah also like if you ever need anything super obscure I probably haven't she's got it yeah and I can just ask you for a review okay great um menswear also my stylist I like I've been experimenting with that a lot more lately I mean sort of the shirt I mean I exclusively shopped like yeah yeah yeah yeah I also like men's like I'm

like it like sometimes I'm just like it's brifts better I like the way that it's I like to wear

like the mens abochromy pants yeah you win on that yeah no it's it's one of the only thing men

men are doing right right right I feel like if you look good up it's probably like a woman who's making them out of her eyes just like to make that for me please also my daddy was torture poets department I've been really getting into it like recently where I'm just like but I have an edited version of it okay um where it's like it's an hour long instead of two and I like really track like the the manic relationship more than anything else like I'm just like

removing the songs about like Travis Kelsey I'm like this is like the actual arc of this album and like that's I don't know for whatever reason I've been like I'm like I really get the mental state you were in like we love a hip or fixation album or song or audio book or audio book was you having audio book coming out do I know that no no unfortunately I get really attached to

voices and I used to fall asleep to podcast but the commercials always woke me up so I

switch audio books and Matthew Perry's audio book I just really like his voice I've listened to it probably like 150 times and well it's just soothing so I bounce between like three audio books but it's like I can't do nights because I have to sleep with my white noise machine and then put Matthew Perry on people like what the little fuck anyway there's like I need these like 10 things her I have a friend who when she goes to bed like looks like she's being abducted she has she's like the

mouth tape on and then like the eye mask and there's like ear things in and I'm like if like disaster struck you would die yeah you need like some sense available and it can't just be your sense of smell like I mean no I've to disaster struck she might be okay it like we both sleep with no clothes on no water by the bed just mouth open yeah Matthew Perry playing but I need it like a particular degree I do you're talking about the apocalypse looks in the day and we're like yeah

I'm not gonna be able to do that because my purpose that I need it night particularly yeah

no I've I've always said this is a apocalypse struck I would just die yeah I believe you are

our people we were saying we're like past new creeps right I'll give you my Google mask yeah like I just I like I feel like already I'm like this is too hard like I'm already such a fragile little flower I'm just sort of like I don't want to experience what life worse than this would be we talked about last week we're in Hell right now. We're like comfort creatures yes and we like I don't want to be in like inconvenience by anything at this point in my life so that would just

really do it for me yeah like I remember watching the last of us and it was like that episode but it was like Nick Offerman and I'm forgetting the other the other like like just them being in love and like being in love post the apocalypse and I was and they were like we haven't had a strawberry and like like twenty years and I'm like I like I can't go that long like I love my strawberries also the fabulous strawberries yeah there we go there we go how do you feel about the air one twenty

dollars strawberry this is twenty I thought it was like fifty bucks well there's like a case of a

Hundred there's like twenty dollars or nine there's yeah there's something ri...

anything they sell them individually agree justly price but then also you can get more of them

agree justly price I mean sadly they're really good yeah I mean sadly they're really good but also

I'm not getting them every day like I'm just like that's ridiculous like it's like on my birthday yeah you know I'm like on my birthday once a year stick a little candle in it yeah it's like that's my cake this strawberries that rouse right now are prime they're so red and so juicy yeah yeah you know we should do like a strawberry like today just like berries berries I would be curious if the people could tell the difference no I mean I'm a strawberry connoisseur and I I know

but I could tell if it was a Harry's berries sadly like I would not be paying twenty five dollars for the strawberries if they were a fucking perfect okay like they're really good yeah okay I'm gonna try this expensive strawberry who's on your daddy list okay geese with audacity I've been seeing lately so many videos of geese hissing at people and chasing them and attacking them and I know if it's a territorial thing because they have babies or they just feel like it but I

think it's so funny and I can straight up it happened to me I almost got attacked by a goose a geese a goose a goose

I was where was I I was at one of those like resorts like it was like an all-inclusive resort and there was like a garden with like ducks and geese and whatever and I was just like I'm just gonna have like a peaceful walk in this garden oh like this goose like saw me like from the pond and like believe like see it and after me it was like hissing out of the garden it was like really embarrassing and I hope no one got it on video luckily it was before I got on the pit so like like no one noticed

thing odd afternoon tea is one we just didn't recently at what where were we hotel the

peninsula hotel and I've never done an afternoon tea well no we did one in London but I know it was just

like a fun thing to incorporate right in your life it felt fancy and then finally I just loved documentaries in general but one that makes you really feel things and sobs like you saw there and like a full release I just who's on your daddy last my daddy last um the blue angels oh I went down a rabbit hole the the the the pilots that fly they do like the they do the air show stuff but they fly like inches apart from each other and the g force that hits them the way they have to like train to like do

those maneuvers and they do like a pre flight like thing where they are like calling out the moves that they're doing I don't know the other eyes close so they have to learn how to do it with a certain amount of g force and be able to like I don't know but like it's so fucking cool I get like chills when I watch them and they like process and I just like the ritual and the ceremony

of an illness I think it's really cool well being from Seattle there's an event that happens every

August called see fair and the blue angels it's everyone has boats you're all in a lake and they like come down it's very it you feel patriotic in that moment that's so cool it's cool yeah just go and take talking like a blue angel angels and you'll see all the things I'm saying right now is that you're only one yeah okay let's do a let's do a quick pivot to basement yeah because in your basement um broken escalators oh just for why I mean I understand they turn into stairs it's not like I'm

I'm not like left like helpless and the band and stranded but like I just really and then mindly comes from the AMC burbing oh my god has been broken for literal months and I'm over it but because I'm at that point just like just put stairs there are stairs but like this is a long set of stairs like you know there's a bunch of people said I get embarrassed walking upstairs for people yeah well the things that are embarrassing well also it is disoriented I feel like it's like

buddy the elf like when you when you go up escalators you know it should be moving and it's not

all the sudden you're just you don't you've never been up a stair yeah you're like you're just like

panting halfway like I'm physically fit I promise to swear right now what's in your basement the heat wave hmm it was like I felt like I was baking every time it was outside I'm always cold so I really like wait really you worth arriving well I also we were in the Bahamas and it was cool yeah was a part we know we were like we did that on your story not to be a stalker but like I did see that on your story was so fun I was so upset that I was here it was it was it was like back home

everyone's baking yeah it was awful I also have aggressive driver's because like I was like trying to get through this like really narrow thing and this car was waiting on the other end for me to get through and he started going like I was like I'm sorry like I'm just trying not to hate you like is that not the people that drive like really really really yeah whatever I hate you with her she's

like I drive really fast but I always say god and not aggressive unless someone tries to be aggressive

with me in which case I'm like hit me we're gonna it's it's less about the fast it's more just like can you not just like make me cry like I just don't like yell at me if don't do hand movements don't like I'm trying my best I will say I feel like road rage is on the rise it's and you never know

Who another person is so I don't get involved with that I'm like I'm a big I ...

what's on your basement list when you have the spins and I'm not going to elaborate the

on that any further I just think if you've had a few too many cocktails and you get the spins it's a I don't know what you're talking about it's it's an unfortunate feeling and you just

have to get through it the only way through is through unfortunately yeah is that all that's mine

I'm just a small basement it's a small basement we're hop we'll we start off being like we're so

happy right yeah we had a larger daddy list in the basement yeah which is always a good thing

it's always a great search boy to be a thank you so much you were coming on we absolutely loved

having you like true I loved being here what a joy we're so excited I just got caught up

because we were gone on the least episode of pit can't wait to finish the season you were amazing in it
