Ty Allen is an entrepreneur, real estate broker, and the founder of Unity Concord Real Estate. Through her work, she empowers aspiring homeowners, business leaders, and underserved communities to pursue their goals with confidence,

creating a legacy of empowerment, representation, and generational impact. I don't really follow the normal scripted route. Usually I'm carving my own little way. And there's sort of what I did with this company,

brick by brick from the foundation of Unity Concord, was in my mind, and it's an office now in the North Shore of Pittsburgh. What are we going to learn about you in your legacy makers episode?

You're going to learn. [MUSIC PLAYING] It spans the goal, like a super high school, internet Elvis. [INAUDIBLE] Today Apple is going to reinvent the phone. It's not over.

Welcome back to another amazing episode

of the Living Your Legacy Podcast. For Insight's Success, I'm Ray Guterres. Joining us today is another amazing maker of Legacy's Ty Allen is joining me today. How are you, my love?

Awesome. How are you? I'm doing great. You're literally in the beginning between filming your interview. You got to catch a flight.

You're living the rock star life. We still don't do it to your podcast. How do you feel? Like a rock star? Right on.

So Ty, what brings you into my neck of the woods? What are you hustling? I want people to know about the business, sort of what we do, our impact, and our neck of the woods. So that was the reason for me stopping by.

Cool.

What are we going to learn about you in your legacy makers episode?

You're going to learn about my journey, my life journey,

ups and downs, some challenging moments, moments that have could have been something that where you could have sort of laid down. And it was like, I don't want to even get into it anymore. Yeah, yeah. You're going to see how I was able to sort of transition those moments

of challenge and some despair into power and perseverance. And thriving. Right on. So, Ty, let's get nerdy. What do you really into?

What are you nerdy about? I feel like you have a really nerdy side to you that I go about to discover. Let's unlock you. I love art. We're not on one card.

Any type of art. I love to do art interpretation. Nice. You know, so a lot of times, you can did it a lot with contemporary art. Sure.

Sure. And I'm an artist, so I practiced all through high school. I was in a special school, Kaspava, the school for performing in visual arts. Yep. So, you know, like I paintings, oil paintings and things of that nature.

So I love gardening. I love animals.

Well, you have to into theater where you have your own stage.

I was in theater, like doing poetry and rap. Yeah. Right on. Cool. I'm just checking off all the performing arts of how visual and your energy is very

vibrant. Thanks. That God given energy and monetizing it. Monetizing it. I guess building businesses.

Yeah. And being on podcasts. Yeah. Yeah. But like building businesses to sort of find a way to connect.

Yeah. And in that same vein, give back, right? So, you know, like you can, like tell your story, but it's like, are you telling your story to have impact? Right.

And, you know, obviously you want to have like positive impact. You want to be able to inspire the people who hear your story, like, for them to be able to take some negative, like, hey, that's called eating that reading for anyone that confuses that action. Yeah.

So, um. But I know what you mean. Because that's a really all time. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. It's just like, you know, in, in that sense, like you want them to sort of take from that in, in grow stronger, right, almost like the heart of the Grinch, right? Yes. You're speaking to my heart.

Grinch is my boy. Yeah. I mean, a lot of people's favorite. Oh, yeah. Yeah.

I wouldn't love one. I don't know. I don't need that. No. Yeah.

Grinch is my dude. Let's, let's talk about your, your episode. What are we going to learn about your episode more specifically?

Like, you mentioned some trials and tribulations.

What's that one moment that you go, this is the reason why I do what I do? The why would be my biggest, why obviously are my children. Right. Um, you know, because they are the, the legacy. Yes.

Holders. Yeah. You know, they've got to go. Ideally. Yeah.

Ideally, I've been to the day. So, you know, it's my children. And then my children's children. Right. Right.

So, you know, have a grandson right now. I got another Grinch out on the way. So, you know, excited about that. But again, it shows, you know, like the different silos and how far outreaching it can be impactful for them.

And to look and say, oh, my mom did that. I'm our grandma did that. I'm a great grandma. You know, like, I may not be here, but, you know, maybe to have a big picture of me. Founder.

Yes. I love it.

Founder CEO, you know, like, it's, you know, it's not common for that to always happen.

So, like, obviously, my family being inspired, but I want anybody that knows the story to fill inspired and not fill defeated by life and all the punches life does because, you know, life is an experience. And not always a good one. Yeah.

But you have to figure out, like, how do you rise from the ashes?

Yeah. What does your Phoenix look like? Yeah. Because everybody's a different person. You have to dig deep and find that.

Back to your artistry and to where you are today, um, do you feel like you've always been that on that track to be that fiery Phoenix, or do you feel like you started off differently than you are today? Um, I've always had a very strong sense of self. Um, I never really helped my tongue too much, and, you know, growing up that got made

a lot of trouble. Yeah, yeah. And as I got older, I was able to negotiate, like, my worth new when it was time to get up from a table. Yeah.

You know, like, you used, like, you never would overstay you up on care. Um, okay, but it's a meal, or you add some on his house. Sure.

So you always know when it's time to exit.

Yeah. You gotta ask because I'm just thriving off your energy. When do you recognize that you're, you're, you're speaking to just a follower or another leader? Like, there's a different code among leaders versus, let's put it this way.

There's a storyteller and then there's a story reader. How many folks do you, would you like to work with the, the readers or the creators? Both.

Who's, who's paying your bills, like, who is your clients?

Because I'm a, I'm sure a lot of folks that operate like you and I in the, in the weird, get monetized, the weird. So how are you monetizing your weird? Um, uniquely complex. Hell yeah, you are.

That's great. Yeah. But a true bonafide individual also, like, I don't want anyone to ever tell me who I am. I know who I am. Right.

Right. Take that to me. Besides your kids. What are you doing, mom? Why are you doing that?

Nope. I mean, we go back and forth because they, they literally, they, we grown up together. Cool. So yeah. So so what's your data day journey like?

You wake up, you take a call and you're, you're, you're educating what, or, or creating content. Walk me through your day. First, waking up and checking email. Yeah.

Because, you know, it's always, always, always fire drills happening.

Yeah. You know, it's happening when you're not looking at your email. Sure. You're looking at emails, trying to get caught up with what might have happened. Why are you sleeping or not paying attention to like every day stuff?

Looking at that, clearing that up, talking to clients, setting appointments, talking to agents. You know, obviously having a lot of one-on-ones and sort of like development and training.

I do a lot of development and training with agents and clients because you have to educate

them on the process. Like, we do it every day. We know I like the back of my hand, but they don't. Sure. So it's like, how do you sort of break that down for them to understand it?

And, in my mind, you can't do it unless you know them. So I have a consultation. We talk. Maybe we start talking about what a navigate in that process and I tell them, it's a journey. Yeah.

A lot is how to tell. You might not like me throughout this journey. But I tell them, trust them believe, I'm going to get you to the closing table. If there's a seller, you're going to get your net proceeds check. And it's going to be the maximum of what we talked about.

If it's a buyer, you're going to get the key. Sure. It's trust in sort of like how we're navigating the process. And I do always appreciate when they do my okay, I'm a test you know, don't let them down.

You know, so, and then when they leave that review, I'm so good, I don't know, no one else told what to choose. So like that. I love how they sound like the Grinch on all the side. I've got to make a difference of who's who's who's who's who's who's who's who.

Yeah. Are you an only child? No. Okay. 'Cause you're very much like an only child.

'Cause I do the same thing. I talked to myself and create different pieces. Well, they're six of us. Oh, wow. Inside of you right now, you're just kidding.

I'm just teasing. That's true. That's true. But there's six siblings. Oh, that's amazing.

But it might be more than six in my head. Oh, cool. You know, but I always keep myself entertained and we kept each other entertained growing

Up.

Sure, sure. Four boys, two girls. I'm an oldest girl. Wow.

So, you know, it was a lot of responsibility growing up, especially at a young age.

So, you have to stay in your mind a lot.

Yeah, yeah. You know, like, oh, I need to detach. This person will just baby's crying and you don't hear it. Oh, yeah, yeah. That's what it gets.

Yeah. That's what the reality gets a little scary. Oh, wow. Actually, I really could have two things out. No, two of that.

That's scary. Well, let, let before we wrap up, I want to tune you in because I know you're going to go back to your interview and got a catch a flight. I want you to stay it out loud. So, what is Unity Concord Real Estate? Like, what makes you so badass? I want you to see your name and why you're badass.

My name is Ty Allen. My company is Unity Concord Real Estate L.O.C. And Ty. Why is it badass? I think it's badass because I don't really follow the normal scripted route.

Usually I'm carving my own little way. Yep. And that's sort of what I did with this company. So, you know, sort of got a little begrudging with how things were going in a brokerage that didn't have my name on it. And didn't have sort of like the control or autonomy to make the decisions that I thought was right.

Yep. Again, what my place? That wasn't my company.

Well, if you want to make the decisions that you think are right for you, you have to create it.

Yep. And that's what I did. So, I didn't buy a franchise. I didn't buy someone else. I brick my brick from the foundation up.

Unity Concord was in my mind and it's an office now in the North Shore of Pittsburgh. And we've service now, you know, over 30 clients and we've only been open for what a year. Wow. So, you know, like, I think that's a lot to be proud of and the fact that we're growing,

because when I first started with just me, it was literally just me.

And a lot of all six of you. Yeah. You know what I'm saying?

I thought that's how I got a lot of that stuff done.

But now we're growing outside of me, each other, agents to where I can sort of teach and develop in nurture, right? Sort of teach them what made me success. Well, everyone went, what is the solution? Is that really a solution?

It's just you leaning into who you are, you're the saw, so wherever you are, it's you have to dig deep and find whatever that looks like. Don't mimic me. Don't try to be me. No, no, no, no.

I got there in a lock. Be you. I love it. Be you. We're going to wrap up here because we want to wrap up your interview.

How can folks find you? I want you to say learn to this camera with your calm, how can folks be part of your energy? So, the brokerage website, www.unityconcord.org is an atwork.com or office number

first for one, two, six, five, zero, four, four, seven, seven.
