There's actually a new peptide that's been researched that is very promising.

It may be a trillion dollar market because it may be one of the few things that we have that

is actually going to target fatty liver.

Dr. Ramsey's Vaya Cussus Novus is a bold forward thinking physician and the founder of Novus star medical clinic drawing from his experience in internal medicine and hormone optimization. He helps patients move beyond simply treating disease to achieving greater health, energy, and human performance. Number one thing that we're using a lot in our clinic is an AD.

It's energy for the mitochondria. As you get older, your telomeres, your chromosomes get shorter. But what an AD does is prevent that shortening of the chromosomes. So you can age but age less rapidly.

We're living in an epidemic of metabolic dysfunction.

So they normalize this function, they normalize, oh, this is just getting older. But you're not supposed to feel that way. You're not supposed to be stuck. There are solutions for you. Let us take care of you.

The living your legacy podcast for those who live to leave a legacy. Hey, welcome back everyone to another episode of "Living Your Legacy Podcasts." I'm your host again, Jay Slingon and we're here at the brand new Miami Beach Studios here in South Beach. Now, the beautiful day, another great day in the studio.

We got special guests today for America's Best Doctors. He's been doing a lot of stuff, that's kind of in the forefront of the chatter that's on social media.

So what's your name and introduce yourself, where you from, and what's your clinic?

Yeah, I'm Dr. Ramsey's Vega Casas. Nova, some internal medicine doctor, Nova Star Medical Clinic is our clinic, we're in Dalton Georgia. Yeah, we specialize in hormone replacement and anti-aging medicine, all right. So Dalton, Georgia, you guys flew down, or you drove down?

Yeah, we flew down from Atlanta, quick little flight, wasn't bad at all. So what do you think of the new studios here? I love it. I love it. You're literally like a block from the beach.

I know. So it's wonderful, I'm staying at the beach, I can just walk in and it's wonderful. I love it. You guys are great. Cool.

Yeah, Nova Star Medical Clinic, I was saying you're at the forefront of what's going on in the chatter, and that's because you were talking about a lot of peptides. You're talking about a lot of weight loss, testosterone, and hormone replacement treatments, right? So give us a rundown on what you do.

Yeah.

So we're basically taking care of patients that are coming in, low energy, if you're

low energy, fatigue, brain fog, and you're thinking, is this aging, or is this hormone imbalance coming to the clinic? What we do is a comprehensive hormone panel. We'll take a look at everything, and we'll really individualize care to what you need. And whether that's peptides or whether that's a combination of medications, we have

a lot of tools that we use to get the results that we need. All right. So I'm 47, and let's say I'm feeling a little, I'm not, by the way, but let's say I'll feel a little down, right? Feel a little low energy.

A lot of people in my age start talking about, you know, right now, because I'm 47, the ads coming at me and the algorithm is pushing testosterone replacement and all this stuff. So let's say I was kind of low energy, and I wanted to look into testosterone replacement therapy.

I come to you, what would you do? Well, you know, it's interesting because standard medicine will get you into the clinic, dirt clinics, and they'll check your levels, but really standard medicine doesn't treat men or hormones until your levels are really, really low. And what's interesting is that a man, for you to feel like you're youthful self, your

levels really need to be high normal, and that's why we're in the forefront of medicine.

That's why we're ahead of what everyone else is doing.

I'm talking about my experience, my personal experience.

I was feeling kind of low energy, and I also found my levels to be low normal. So I started the medication, and I'm not going really, really high levels.

I'm keeping my levels kind of mid-high, and it's amazing, I mean, you can imagine how

you felt when you were 18 years old, you know, you were playing basketball or you're in

sports, you know, you had that, you know, like that quickness, that's what you get.

You get the energy back, and you don't know until you know. So yeah, so what, what age should men start thinking about checking their testosterone levels? Right. So men or women, their levels start going down after their 30s. So I think even at that time, if you're already feeling like, you know, I have low energy

or low libido, or even erectile dysfunction, you know, could this be because of low levels, get checked out. And so you went from low normal, and you said that you try to keep it at mid-to-high normal. Nice.

And it's made a huge difference. Huge difference. Wow.

The very first thing that I noticed was just getting out of bed in the morning, before it

was like, oh, my buzzer, and like, oh, I have to wake up 10 minutes more, but when your levels are there, you wake up, you're like, okay, I'm ready. Let's go. Yeah. All right.

And so, yeah, I mean, I hear a lot about peptides. What are peptides?

Is someone like me should I be looking into it like who looks in the peptides?

Right. So, you know, peptides right now is big. And the thing with peptides is that, you know, the most common peptide that you're listening, or you know about, is the JLP1s, but there's more coming down, and the government is working on getting them approved.

So that's going to be coming down to Pipeline, but there's different peptides for different things, whether it's for muscle or ligaments, and there's a whole bunch coming more about that. And so, are these like steroids, or like, what are they?

No, they're not steroids, basically they're an enzyme, they're an enzyme that is being

used by the body for that particular function, okay?

And so, why are they only now kind of getting into the forefront of the talk?

Right. But one, because they're trying to monetize them, so before there was not very much as far as, like, who can use them, how you use them, but now the government is holding people back from using them, so if you want it some peptides, people are actually getting them from China and things that probably places that you shouldn't be getting them from.

So coming up, we're seeing pharmaceuticals, like Pfizer, getting into newer, newer things. Yeah, I guess who uses peptides, and, I mean, I just hear so much about it, right? So, and I'm, I'd say get, like, right now, I'm a muggle in this world. I don't know if you got two daughters, maybe you've watched Harry Potter, right? So you got the wizards, right?

Who have the magic, and then you got the muggle, so don't have the magic, right? Yes. In your world, I'm a muggle, and you're the wizard, because, right? And so, I'm still trying to get to know, like, who uses peptides, why would I look into it, is it for both men and women?

And it depends on what you want it for, if it's for optimization of, you know, energy, or you're an athlete, and you want your ligaments to be stronger. So, but most people that are using enzymes are really too optimized, they're care. This is not just, I mean, most people are people that are mostly healthy, that are really looking for the next level, and that's really what I'm seeing most people, because it's

not covered, so it's cash, and it can be expensive. Yeah. And so, yeah, I mean, is it, if athletes were to take peptides, would it be something

That they test for, and would be a legal or?

No, there's, there's a lot of athletes using these peptides, and they're not a legal.

I don't know exactly, I don't get into, you know, what all, you know, professional athletes can and cannot take, but as far as I know, they're legal. Yeah. And what about, you know, women that are going through, like, menopause? Is this something that they kind of take or?

Well, you know, what I say is important, especially for women is hormones.

For example, testosterone is very important, even for women, and I think men, yes, get

benefit from hormone replacement, but I'm really seeing women get so much from hormone replacement, because their system is a little bit more complicated than us. They're using estrogen, and progesterone, and testosterone, and testosterone, so a combination of all these for certain women are really changing their lives. And I've had people from one day to the next, say, like, oh, wow, like, I didn't know,

I needed this. Yeah.

So I think a lot of the chatter is this whole anti-aging.

You talked about anti-aging, everyone on the internet's talk about anti-aging, right? It seems to be the, what does it, the, what's the, what's the word I'm looking for? Anyway, it seems to be like, what everyone is going towards, right? It's very marketable, right? Yes.

And so when you think about anti-aging, right, what things come to mind? So number one thing that we're using a lot in our clinic is NAD, and I'm sure you're hearing a lot about NAD, and you hear mixed things about NAD. Oh, it doesn't work or works. But honestly, it's cellular energy.

It's energy for the mitochondria.

So as you get older, your telomeres, your chromosomes get shorter.

But what NAD does is prevent that shortening of the chromosomes.

And so you can age, but age less rapidly.

No, okay, maybe that's part of that aging gracefully. Yes, exactly. Exactly. Yeah. So you take NAD?

I do. Your wife takes NAD? Yes. All right. We do.

Yeah. You should do. Yeah. You should do. Who know an NAD?

No, homie. Yes. Don't let me get into NAD. How can I explain it? I take a frame of a frame.

No. Okay, so yeah, I mean, what else is it? So NAD, what else is in your bedroom? Yeah. So there's even medications now, even oral medications that we're using for weight loss,

that they're coming on to the market, and it's interesting because now we can use these tools and using them for weight loss before everything weight loss was out of pocket. But now things are kind of shifting where they're allowing some medications to be used. And so for people that don't have that extra cash, but are still interested in weight loss, we're doing that for them and really focusing on what their diet is, what their exercise

regimen is, and going back to really the basics. Yeah. And then you also talk a lot about preventative measures, right? Now does that come preventative measures for not just general health, right? But for anti-aging, is that just like, talk about that?

Yeah.

So preventative measures, the thing that we have to talk about, I think, that's most important

is that we're living in an epidemic of metabolic dysfunction. And mostly is our diet. There's some junk. There are people asking me what is American food, I say it's corporate food. Corporate food.

Honestly, they're putting in their, they're making a cheaper and cheaper, putting in whatever ingredients are in there that they don't allow in Europe, that they don't allow anywhere else. And it's sad. It's sad that it's come to that. Absolutely.

You know, for example, let's take seed oils. You know, seed oils are so in, cause such an inflammatory response. And most fast food restaurants, they cook with seed oils. And actually, the government subsidizes it. So there's a reason for that.

There's a history behind that, but I think that if we can start at least by eliminating seed oils, that's a major driving force for metabolic dysfunction.

What is metabolic dysfunction is basically, you have stores of energy in your...

right?

Adominal, Adapose tissue, but your body doesn't know how to use the energy anymore.

So it ends up creating the disease. Hmm. All right. And so what's kind of at the forefront of, you know, of your kind of medical industry right now?

Like, what are the things that you're looking into that other people aren't looking into? Yeah, we're doing a lot of research with different types of, um, even like peptides. There's, there's one peptide that looks very promising for even like Nash. We really didn't have a good, um, treatment for Nash, which Nash is, uh, hepatix, the

toses or fatty liver, okay, so there, there wasn't, there hasn't been much of a good treatment for that.

You basically just tell patients, die in an exercise, but, uh, there's actually a new peptide

that's being researched that is very promising. It's by Pfizer and, um, it looks like it may be a trillion dollar market because, uh, it may be one of the few things that we have that are, is actually going to target fatty

liver and, uh, so I ask everyone, what are you most excited about?

It could be personal. It could be your business. Mm-hmm. I'm excited about practicing medicine out of the box. I'm excited about being able to just transform people's lives, um, in ways that probably

other providers aren't doing. Yeah. So you, you talked about, um, because you have your own clinic, you're able to give that boutique, individualized care that the other doctors can't, right?

Other, um, and the big ones, and you're also expanding, right?

Right. We're expanding. We have more providers coming in to help us that believe in the mission, and it's kind of blowing up, um, it's a great time for us at Nova Star Medical Clinic. Uh, we're seeing a lot of people really getting into, uh, what, what I thought that, uh,

they wouldn't see because if everyone that you go to is telling you all, your blood work is normal, but I don't feel normal, then they stop thinking that there was a solution for them, and so they normalize this function, they normalize, oh, this is just getting older, you know, this is just me, this is how I'm supposed to feel, but you're not supposed to feel that way.

You're not supposed to be stuck. There are solutions for you. You can feel better. You can't sleep better. Right on.

And yeah, your, your two daughters are out, and your wife is out in the hallway over here,

the new studios enjoying all the cafe that we have, and the coffee and the fruits, right?

But they've got great hair, your daughters, and you've got this beautiful, lack of curly, was it, you said, Puerto Rican hair, um, man, you know, I'll tell you a story about that. Yeah. Okay. So, you know, when I was growing up, everyone is, is, gets a fade, right?

So I didn't know I had good hair. Yeah. I just came around, and nobody was going to the barber, and I saw my girls with good hair. So I was like, I'm not going to cut my hair, um, and so, so I'm sure you're here your whole life.

Show her my whole life. This is a COVID. This is a COVID. Oh my God. Yeah.

Yeah. And now I'm like, uh, honey, do I cut my hair? She's like, no, you are not cutting your hair. Yeah, no, yeah, you guys have great COVID, good things come out of COVID, yeah. You know, the people that grew out there beer, the side of growing out there, yes.

Well, yeah, you got great locks, your daughter has great locks, but thank you. Yeah. Thank you for coming into the show. How do people find you? So, novastarmed.com, find us there, um, uh, book your appointment, come see us, let's

take care of you. All right. Yeah. So, if you're in the Georgia area, novastarmed.com, uh, check them out, check out those great COVID locks and uh, stay tuned for his episode.

That will be out. You know, if you're into, uh, you know, what's the latest in the medical field, what's the latest in peptides, uh, tune his to how to have a clinic of your own and the struggles of that, uh, tune into his show, but also tune into, uh, America's best actors where we interview all the top actors in the nation that comes to, uh, our, uh, studios.
