[MUSIC] >> Expect anything different.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the No-Lang of podcast.

Solie here got a fun crew tonight DJ Pie reporting in from just outside Milwaukee. Hello, Dege. >> Hello, Solie. Good to be with you with a fun day at golf, man. Excited to talk about it.

>> Newsy Week, too. We got a lot to talk about tonight. TC is here. Hello, TC. >> Hello, Solie.

Jam packed agenda. Women's Am was great all week. We got Neil Poppin in from his live. Experience. And then kind of a sick week at Windham.

I enjoyed it. >> There's a lot to talk about tonight.

As you mentioned, we're going to chat about Michael Brennan's breakthrough at Windham.

We're going to put a close in the regular season on the PGA tour. We're going to do for door five. I'm getting word.

As you mentioned, Neil went to live bed minister on Thursday.

We had to record that section earlier because he was fighting a power issue on his vacation. That is an electric visit that will come later. We had a ton of live news this week. They were going to react to. And more and as mentioned, the U.S. Women's Amateur as well.

Astros Tally, the bright star wins the United States. Women's Amateur. At the honors course, we had Frank Eheris. Each had a 59 in the final round to win the Pinnacle Bank. Championship on the corn fairy tour.

Walking nemen wins live bed minister. The crushers got the team victory as well. Anna, you want you won the LAT PIF London Championship as well. But the big one, Michael Brennan, your winner and win them. Got it done, gaming a full bag of titles to equipment.

A few quick notes here. 76% of the field this week trusted a title of golf ball. Including Michael who plays the ProV1. It's got lower, long game spin of the V. That fits his game best and he loves the softer feel.

That's exactly why I am in it as well.

He was among 68 competitors this week playing a titleless driver.

He's got a GT3 model along with a new GTS prototype three wood and a GTS three seven wood. Michael Brennan's the T 100 long irons with 620 CB mid and short irons. He's got four Voky wedges. He plays a 46 F, a 50 F, 54 S and a 60 K star.

Finally, he gained over eight shots on the greens this week with a Scotty Cameron go low.

Six tour prototype putter, which has the rounded mid mallet profile that really suits his eye. titleless dot com to find a fitting near you. Shall we get right into it, guys? You guys want to take your big victory lap here. You're, you know, just go ahead and do your thing.

You know, T C, I know you're fraud. Solid, you're down, you're down bad right now. First Foxy, you're just recovering from that. Literally well, Brennan. I was like, fuck, another top young player just ruined for me by T C.

Just absolutely ruins most golfers for me. And we have yet another one that's ruined for me. He was he was battling it down the stretch. He goes in that dividend 17. He had the left for a while kind of lost his speed on the greens.

It was kind of electric to watch. And then I mean, hospitalers fucking slow playing them all day. It was good stuff, man. This is, you know, if you don't know what we're, we're referencing from the beginning. The, much like the Fedora five, which we're going to hear from later, T C.

Our 10 best players without a major. That list is a forward looking index as well. You know, we had Michael Brennan in that ceremonial. You had Michael. I can't believe I have to put my name on this.

And so we've just been right. The Brennanites have just been right. Waiting to be delivered again. Like we were last year in Utah. And it was just, he got it done, man.

He, he, he polished it off with the T C on the front nine. Five birdies in a row. And he's just, he's just really fun to watch. He seems like a good guy off the golf course. Interesting switched on guy.

And there's something just electric about his, his game is look. He's got our guy all the bread on the bag. It's just a fun combo. And it, it really made, I don't know.

But kind of made wind them shine in a way that it, it doesn't always from year to year.

You know, I just had a, you know, had a really fun time watching it today. His parents seem like normal delightful human beings. Think his mom's a rules official. How about this? His dad, a air traffic controller.

His mom passed the, the rules expert certification. My guy, Michael's, he's a letter boxed guy. I was out with going back and forth with, with my guy Paul from the P.J. Toer who I usually talk about movies with that on site. And I'm, I'm going to, I don't know if, you know,

I don't want to air out Michael's letter box.

There's some really good stuff.

And there's some really concerning stuff.

Two stars for there will be blood is like. Shocking, but then he was showing a lot of respect to little women, which Randy and I both like just so we can, we can take that offline. But yeah, interesting. And then his brother, I don't know if you guys caught his post around presser,

his brother want to member guests today too. So Michael was saying he's like, now all four of us, me, my, my dad, my brother and my mom of all what the, the, the club championship.

Sorry, not never guest club championship.

Which is just good, just good stuff. They seem like very interesting people, and they're very interesting to watch, play golf, or at least Michael. I haven't really watched the rest of the family play. And it's, it's a proper win.

Yeah. Like, you can't really fake. Like, it's a, it's a course that favors driving accuracy. You can't fake it out of the rough there. The, the greens were, there's enough short grass around him.

They're really grainy, fast. Your iron plays got to be on. It was, it was a true test of golf, I felt like. And, you know, I know the scores are low. It's poor 70, scores are low, but like, you got to hit the shots.

Like, saw, I know you were saying, hey, I'd love to see a, you know, a restoration similar to Detroit. I don't know if you can do that. I did not say that.

You, that, that did not say that.

I watched a, there was a great restoration of a Donna Ross golf course last week. And you said, window, you, well, the one that brought this up,

you were like, I think, wind them could really use a great restoration student.

And I, I said, man, I would love to see this. Like, that, that was a light bulb for me. Like, that, I can't think of a golf course on the stage where that would be better off getting a restoration. No, you can't do the same exact restoration.

You did, uh, in Michigan as you do in South Carolina, but like, it's still, it, it looks like a golf course. Of course, Carolina. Excuse me. North Carolina.

One in Razor. Uh, it, it is a golf course that has some great bones to it. But isn't really, I don't, it is not living up to its full and complete potential. And it, as, on the news front, like if this becomes a, uh, it sounds like Raymond James is going to be sponsoring, uh, this event going forward as a championship level event.

I would like to see it get re-done, uh, pride. I, I doubt that's, you know, unless it was already in the works. I don't think that's necessarily going to fit into a timeline. Yeah. Uh, I think it, it, there's an AJ.

'Cause there's so much slope on the greens. There's so much going on with, like, and they did a, the best job, I think, CBS has ever done on, like, the worm cam of, uh, got to do it. Like, the worm cam on the three foot. It's got a jumping with the rage.

It was rage. It was, it was, it was, it was, it came cardact. He's the one in the video. He's the one in the video. The dating is as straight as it is.

It's churchening up a little bit too late. I heard he's the one in the video. The fuck must have done my free foot, pots of grain after that. (laughs) Oh, sorry.

There's so much slope going on out there. You see, there's probably strokes, gates of the, (laughs) (laughs) (laughs) Stroke's gate could play in that category as well.

(laughs) Jesus. (laughs) You said, "Course, it doesn't favor leg." Oh, okay.

Anyways, because of the longer one. 30 seconds time out. I'm just just regrouping here. Deva just put up 12 straight boys out of there. We got it.

We got it. We got it. To us. We got it. TV time out.

We got it. Okay. Oh, man. That's not like that in the wild. Oh, man.

I'm hurting. Well, listen. Solid doesn't hate Michael Brennan. I don't believe. We had a lot of fun on Slack.

You had a lot of fun on Slack. Yeah, yeah. I mean, do you see how lot of fun with that?

But I think it is to get back into it a little bit.

He wins in Utah last fall. Coming on this sponsor exemption. Just like basically out of nowhere. I mean, it had been playing amazing on PGA tour Americas. But just right to the, you know, doesn't pass go.

Just goes right for it and wins on the PGA tour. And I got to imagine it's been just a weird. You know, going on a year since that right to like have the security. But be playing different golf courses trying to figure out what's going on with this game. Probably has very high expectations.

Probably wasn't always meeting them.

I just find it to be a very interesting player at a very young young age. You know, and I think he's like, we've made it this far without saying it. But like he's he's kind of the. The third of this three-headed monster that we've seen with coven and Thor Bjornson and now him. That like it feels like something real is happening on kind of the young stars front.

For the first time since when I was thinking about it today. It's like the. It feels like they feel like guys with more similar, you know.

Sealing more upside than than just like, because I think a few years ago we h...

More ceiling of guys since then, I would not say they have more ceiling than the more cow.

Yeah, but it's both ceiling since those guys.

It's interesting because I'm not a scribe it because there's a wave describing him that does sound like a ball speed imposter.

That is like, hey, there's a million of you out on the corn fairy tour and there's a wave describing him that's like,

Hey, you are really, really fast, but also different in a way that like people talk about you just a little bit differently and projecting you out a little bit differently. And the rumblings have been out there about the talent and it is a short game and putting issue for the most part. I mean, he's an excellent excellent driver of the ball.

Extremely fast. He was touching 190 ball speed today and he won on a golf course that doesn't really even favor distance that much.

And his iron play is above average as well. He's good player. He missed 12 greens all week and his 7th percentile short game was not tested very strongly. That is kind of where the weakness has come in and why he was 105 in the FedEx coming into this week.

And needed to win our top 2 I think to get into the playoffs and did it and has been on a furious furious run of golf and don't know all the details of like what he's been working on and what the struggles have been like.

And necessarily up to this, but we got a little we've got to look at the last three weeks really at the actual town of the Sundays were bad the last couple weeks and we might even be talking about him a little bit differently. But we're not for those bad Sundays last couple weeks. I was going to say he like it's it's kind of a like I know he won in Utah, but stick in his nose in it three weeks in a row like he hit 3 am he shot 74 in the final round to finish T24 73 in the final round to the rocket to finish T15 and then she's 64 today and it's like you got to learn how to win you got to you got to get you just got to get it over the line and even I think even today.

We saw some of those Gremlins coming out for sure, which made it like you said it just makes you kind of attached to to a player right when it's you see somebody who just looks invincible and birdie's five holes in a row and just is throwing darts all of a sudden just sniping off the T and look shell shocked and kind of start speeding up the routine a little bit and it's just all that stuff just makes for a great great watch. But I feel like gamewise it's this is it's kind of a diet version of this I mean came young is came young, but it feels a little like came young you know where it was the elite driver is there just kind of above average ball striking kind of in the hunt a lot but needed to figure out that pattern.

And I mean he's he's talked about working with the new coach and flipping things on that front over the last month or so and seems like your path it was second this week on the greens and you know it's just there's a lot of guys like this but like man when you catch somebody who hits at that long hits at that straight and then starts making pots it's just that's it's going to be there week. Yeah, yeah, it I don't know what to I tough got to project out right it's it's we saw this we've seen last couple weeks yet again he was outside the top 100 coming into this week I don't don't the floor isn't necessarily very high I don't think on him but I think we can all everyone would agree the ceiling is and I will probably learn a lot more about him here in the next three weeks I think honestly.

That said solid like I think you know since he started playing the PGA tour late last year last fall he made four of four cuts in the fall last year he made 17 of 23 cuts this year and then had a DQ in there at Tory for the greens book thing but.

I mean like that that's pretty strong golf just from a consistency perspective made the cut it all four majors which is something that you had on like I think there's some there's some signs there that we're looking at someone who. He kind of goes against some of the stereotypes that go along with a guy that just hits the ball really really far and well he's yeah I don't know he talked a lot about that too like you know he picked up all the.

When was that that was earlier this spring I think that they they first got together but you talked about a lot of game management stuff a lot of like man I was.

There was a lot of times earlier this year where I'd have back pins and I just wouldn't respect him and I'd fly him over I'd fly it over the green and make but like needless bokeys and just tightening up like little tiny stuff like. And I think you're now his yeah strategy and his game management stuff is where it's like man he's 24 and still kind of in his rolling first year on the PJ tour he's got two wins you know it's going to.

Being long off the tee and when you are an accurate it's wedge but executing ...

He had such a good like he flew it on one flew the green on one or like you know it was it was a pretty like he was coming on the rough from the left side not a great angle and. It ran over the back and he played the nastiest little bump shot up on one and then got up and down and then you know just kind of eased into the round but.

I think it's like it's extra impressive as well because over the last two or three years like nobody has played their way into the playoffs at this event I think there's like.

I think Chris Kirk's like the only one that's that's come from outside the top 70 and played his way into the playoffs otherwise it's just been like very very.

Guys have come from outside the top 70 and but not like we didn't get in might to come from way out that almost never happens into this one.

There's just a little bit of churn on those final spots but like to come from way out and earn your spot in is extremely rare but there was a abnormal abnormal lack of churn at the bottom this year only I think two guys moved in. This week. Or was was burned in the only one I don't know exactly it's coven started the week at 70 yeah and stayed there at 70 and then which is so sick by the way just I mean I know you guys went deep on him at the the 3M when he won but it's to come off of I think I saw the PGA tour tweet something that he's the basically the first ever PGA tour accelerated player to.

The first time I've been in the middle of all season in college. Come on to the PGA tour and make it into the playoffs all in the same year and it reminds me a little bit of.

I was working on a project and looking up some stuff about speed we're not going to talk about speed from the promise. But just looking back at that 2013. The first time I was in the middle of all season and when he because he won at John Dears very similar right like the events were only a couple weeks apart because he won at that John Dears.

Having a win made him eligible for that's what made him eligible for the playoffs that's what made him eligible for the president's cup.

Getting through there made him like a natural pick for the president's cup then you know gets into a gust of because of the win he finishes runner up then he wins the next year it's just kind of this like very very cool tail off of the speed kind of. I think it's a very good thing to be able to do that. You're not going to believe this but Chris Kirk's the only guy over the last two years to go from outside the top 70 to inside the top 70 at the wind him. He's been like zero turn at all at this event that is.

He would have gotten way inside the top 70 but he kind of bottled it down the stretch the detective made a run and he came up short you've got. That Wallace almost hold it a 70 second hole to get in after missing a pretty makeable birdie put on 70 first hole he thought he had gotten in. I think we need to get him on the team but he's outside outside the top 70 outside move from 80 to 70 third but in theory and theory to have about the team Davis Thompson first in approach and almost dead last in putting which is always a kind of the hug and ask a week for him.

That's a loaded question to see that's a little dirty I'll jump on the grenade I did not have a fun time watching ball loss I've always.

I feel like I've always had a soft spot for me in my head I got to meet him I remember at the 2011 US open first major I recovered he qualified when he was like a kid fun story.

You know we got to talk to him and write a little thing about him and I've always kind of just thought that I liked watching him more than I did and. Yes, it's just it's slow it's very mopey it's just just kind of just no thanks seems like a lovely guy in person no offense to anybody but. I was like that's five lies in a row bad lie yeah I was I was. I was just easy to reaper Brennan in that pairing that's well which I respected. And then Trevor and women and the other guys in the broadcast whichever Colt made an awful joke he was like we're going to turn 60 minutes into 45 I thought that was a good joke.

I kind of liked that one I thought that was good but they were they were givi...

It's slow to the one that's slower over the ball yeah and it's just like you can't cut away you can't do anything in relation to that but.

Yeah that was easy easy routing interest. Yeah because that tells you a big of a fan I am despite despite knowing how much TC gloating we were going to get tonight. That's big of a big of a. I've been James having a 62 a 61 on the on the card this week.

Yeah I think he has to be I mean I don't we've seen anybody just.

Be more hot and cold obviously very very very young still figuring it out but certainly seems like the. The opposite the the downrange speed is there if he gets to go in just seems like it tends to blow up on the watch bed every now and again this is to have a whole lot of feel. I think that's having like three or four times already this year it's crazy. Yeah I mean he's got what T 15 at the ESCO T 4 at Pune Tacana and then I'll third at the window really impressive. I mean he's made.

What he's made over a million dollars and eight starts.

Yeah. This year and yeah he was you know all world like what 14 first team all over the four time first team all America at. That's a UVA so yeah I just I don't like solid we're talking about it this week I'm not deriving a lot of joy.

I think it's a little bit different from watching can play golf just I don't know it like it just doesn't seem like there's there's a lot of game management going on or like it's just like.

Not much artistry and there's not much. I'm just going to hit it as close as I possibly can and yeah I don't know. And maybe that's the reasons of all utility I think yeah exactly. The future of this event a little bit you kind of alluded to it with the championship track I think is super interesting something I did not see coming. Yeah I think Josh Carpenter reported it today just right after the final put drop that Raymond James is going to be picking up the sponsorship of this event and there we talked about last week how.

I've what I've got the name of the actual government entity that is proposing 40 million dollars to help support the event as well for the long term to make sure it gets into the upper track.

The PGA tour which yeah when we made out our mocks schedule several months ago we were not considering that wind and would have the opportunity to move up into this track but creates an interesting.

You know part of the conversation I think we've had of like traditional PGA tour events versus bigger markets and new events like what winds out there and.

I think it is a splashy thing to come in and say like it jumps off the page of like it's been a conversation around professional a PGA tour for a long time why aren't you in a lot of these big cities. And the new brass comes in and says yeah we're going to go to all these big cities and I think there might just be and this is just me theorizing a little bit of realization of the asset value you have in in the longstanding events at places that are familiar. The place that that fans recognize on television that you if you listen to the build out pod we've got coming up this week that.

Know how to set up the tournament and make your life easy as well and you have financial support behind it. A smaller secondary market. Could be a good option the money the money's there for you. I don't know why the PGA tour would sort of out of their way to not go back to Greensboro. Yeah I think I would even call this a tertiary market.

Right it's small you know but it's small but it's it's it's good it is good and I think it's. You know I didn't know if they were really going to put their money where their mouth is or I guess if other people are going to put their money where their money needs to be. In order to keep some of these events around but when they said like you know there's a room for the green bit you know there's room for the green Bay Packers just like there's room for the. Whoever the cowboys and yada yada on the PGA tour schedule I didn't know that they would actually.

I didn't know how seriously they were going to take that and it's it's interesting to see some of the reporting it sounds like maybe the events moving to spring. To create kind of like a little bit of a Carolina sort of swing which feels like a very like a pretty jam packed part of the schedule. That's already but I think it's awesome and I think this event is one of those that. It is one of the massive assets to the PGA tour is like you said this history and we've been going there for a while and Ben Hogan one there and Sam Sneed one there and Charlie Sifferd.

Broke the color barrier in the south there and like all of these different th...

It's never seemed all that good you know and I think it's kind of cool to almost they probably have a chance almost like dusted off a little bit and and breathe some more life into it at a great like what can be a really good venue so I think getting. It almost feels like it it's poised for like what's happened to travelers over the last seven years ten years you know where it's like that event always seemed it was good but it seemed kind of man and. You know slow steady progress and having the right players and now all of a sudden you're like I remember Scotty and I remember and Duke randomly and I remember Jordan's beef and all of these like.

Different memories that you kind of start thinking about these tournaments differently it seems like it's poised to maybe have something similar. And a good tournament directors too. Yeah better weather time period also just get you a little bit more and needs a little bit more vibe to it like it's kind of it's a quiet. It's event but it's August in North Carolina and that fits in the spring and I mean we were we were kind of thinking there'd be a East Lake. It's an adventure event in the spring is kind of what we had had mocked out in 2028 and he's like has said they don't want to spring event and they want to be in the torch championship rotation for the PGA toward carbonor tweeted that.

It's a no thanks to that we appreciate appreciate your offer. You'll hear from us. Yeah, what call you if that's the case like.

I think you probably are deserving of hosting an event and we've kind of been there on the August thing being the struggle but all that to say there's there's some spring stuff that maybe potentially opens up.

Potentially opens up for for something like that to fit in so. And the other thing I would say too is that I think it's going to help this event to be out from under the stupid FedEx cup. Amalgamation's watch.

You know, I just say exactly to your point, John, like it's never as interesting as as you think it is we have the JT watch one year.

That was kind of fun, you know, but that was really fun. I should say but other than that it's always just kind of like. Yeah, it's like his Davis Thompson going to play his way and I'm like, I don't give a fuck man. I don't care. It's the place for good. It could help it, right? That would make it that would be different. Yes.

But there's relegation. If there's 20 years here, if I'm not being good. Right. Well, there's going to be a new model is my point. We'll see.

Oh, they're will. Oh, they're will. I want to give a shout out to our friends at the stack. Most people probably know them as the speed training guys. There's a lot of people know me as they come up to me. Say you want to speed training guys.

Two now. And this day.

You could have 82 speed yet. Are we, are we past that yet?

I hit 112 this along warm up. All right.

They're the number one speed trainer golf and they just cross 50 million training swings.

But they've quietly built out a lot more than just a speed training stack. Putting is the thing I'd probably highlight the most right now. Michael Kim has gone from 103 to 16th in Stroke's gain. He's been tracking up stack putting sessions at basically every tour stop this summer. He actually texted Sasha McKenzie recently and that he actually sent me this text message.

So I've seen this. Michael Kim said I basically only do stack putting as my putting practice now on from 103 on toward a 16th. So it's not just putting you. They got stack wedges for distance wedge practice as well. So if you're thinking of the stack is just speed training.

Hold a lot more going on there now. I will say I am again back on the program.

It's a great feeling to show up at a golf course and feel like your body's ready to move.

Like again, it's not all about just like hitting as far as possible. It's like my body feels ready to move through the golf swing right now. And I haven't been playing that much and it's not it's not like I haven't picked up a club. It just feels a lot more natural. So the stack system dot com slash NLU 10% discounts are already added.

If you do that or you can use code no laying up at checkout at the stack system dot com. But just go there this to access dot com slash NLU check it out. You're going to love it great product three times a week. Tell me help me get get some get some strain in there as well. I freaking love the stack.

It looked like Sasha wanted club championship of his own or something. I saw on his Instagram he was posting hot. Yeah, he's playing some golf too. This is the season. Exactly.

Kid hot. A quick down the board. T.C. anything you want to shout out there? Yeah.

No, I think just just from a kind of who missed out on the top seven.

Keegan Bradley. So many fourth he had some some comments. He's still chalking it up to to rider cup hangover. You're later he said, you know, got off the really bad start this year. And then he was winging a little bit about for for for some reason.

It's the top 70 now instead of the top 100 or 125 that make it. So if we've been over that. Keegan. Do you? When I was like there were some reds fans were trying to convince themselves.

They were in the playoff. The playoff race here is like not everybody gets in the playoff.

The playoffs dude.

There's 70 guys in it. I was going to do we don't have to do this.

But I was going to say first of all, fair and balanced here.

Keegan has made the playoffs 15 years in a row. That's sick. That's very, very cool. Very, very, very impressive. Got to shout that out.

Get him on the team. I think 70's plenty. And if you want, we could go through 71 through 200. And you guys tell me, if you think the playoffs are broken. Steven Fisk, Bo Hausser, Matt Wallace, Keegan.

Rather we mentioned Mack Miser and Andrew Putnam, Davis Thompson.

Johnny Key for Jackson's Super, Smotherman, Hogey.

It's just you go through it and you're like all very good players. Some of them are the Cincinnati Reds, you know, some of them are. I can joke about that. Some of them are the diamond. But you, some of them are the voice.

Some of them are the diamond balling. You know, it's just. That's the way the subject of Keegan quick question. Are there, are the red socks cheating? But then I read them.

We're going to look into it. We're going to look into it. We're going to look into it. We're going to look into it. God, there's, I'm saying, it's so much face for our, our preseason draft.

Yeah, I know. Through it. The, the four brewers are turned it up. Andrew bought a stereo. It's crazy.

Let's go and up. Speaking of guys who have made the last one. She years in a row, Jason Day. And it's 82nd. He said he was, he's, his body's just not cooperating.

He's kind of lacks, lacks some health, lacks the most important

ability right now.

Brand Snedaker playing, he was playing really well.

I thought he was going to maybe make a run for him. And make the team forgive. You know, playing captain. But he did not. Brooks.

Brooks has won this year. Brooks had some pretty jarring comments today. Yeah, just like how unacceptable is his games. Which since come back to the table. Which again, I'm here for a very here for it.

First of all, great. Love like very kind of dark Brooks is always. Like here in that. But yes, some people need to not make the playoffs in order for the playoffs to be meaningful. And for him to be like, I'm not.

It's embarrassing that I'm not playing well enough to make the playoffs is like, okay. Maybe we're on to something. All right. Maybe there's maybe there's a little and hearing even Brennan be like, man, I'm playing so good right now.

For me to have to just go sit on my couch would have been like really painful. I was like, oh, that's like we're, we're inch and closer to. Yeah. It's not the chance. Yeah, this is cool.

Okay. And even those guys, like, they get to go play the fall after this, too. Like the guys that missed the playoffs, like the. This Brooks can like, I'd be curious. I imagine he will probably play Ben Cole, same thing.

Like, I would say successful season from him to finish 96. And, you know, make some big strides here. No, back. I would say not a successful season from him. Yeah.

All the signature events and didn't make the playoffs. Like, that's, that's me's a failure. A big tone, putting one handed this week. Don't let him get a death. It should be top 100.

Because you let that guy get on the left. We've seen what happens at the Northern Trust. Mr. October. A little plant in 147. If if fucking big toe would have got the playoffs,

putting one of it.

I think that's where I've been like, yeah, what are we doing?

Man, I know what he should be able to put one handed and make the playoffs. That would be ridiculous.

So, yeah, there's never been some downside.

Nick Dunlap, 167th had a pretty six scorecard this season. He had on his scorecard on Friday, one day. He had a nine and eight, a seven, a six, a five, a four, a three and a two. It was, it was unbelievable. Never seen anything like it.

Yeah, crazy. That's real tough. So. Well, do you guys want the fedora five plus a few? [laughter]

Ray J. I'm pumped for the Ray J next year. Yeah, hit us with it, TC. All right. August, night, we haven't done one since June 28.

Do you want to maybe try that initiated? What is the fedora five? The fedora five is a forward-looking index. Looking ahead. Who's going to play well both?

Is this worldwide, too? This isn't just PGA Torr. June 28, we had Eugenio Chacara. Dub, the Fitzpatrick brothers. Little baby Colin and blocky.

We'll get the blocky. But it's poor. Look at him. [laughter] Eugenio Chacara retains his top spot.

Wow. Okay. He's hot. Did he play? What does he have?

He played. It might be like, I'm not going to penalize him for that. He might be like those women who had the, it was at the AOD. The risk roared child today. It's epic events.

Didn't lose the belly buck. Exactly. He is not quite in the open, TC. So that's, that he's going up out and sneaking up on a month. Yeah, he's got to get ready for the, you know, the, the back nod.

Yeah. He's coming up here. I think they're going to Great Northern this week in Denmark.

Gosh.

Which will be, that'll be great for you. Second, a new entry. Big Tommy Morrison. Oh, hello. I love this one.

Absolutely. And awe at the size of this slide. It's been like, I mean, DJ, we've been talking about it. There's, there's a, there's a, there's a cabal of dudes. Yeah.

Uh, they have bad intentions coming up coming up from the corn fair. American dudes. It's just, it's just, it's just a thoroughbred American dude. It's kind of beaten up the corn fairy tour right now. It's, it's, it's, watch this space.

There could be some, some heavy hitters coming in that graduating class. Just break you across the wire. Allison, Doctorty, birdie those last four holes to get into a playoff with Frankie Harris. Frankie Harris did prevail after shooting fifty nine to win the event. But, uh, I probably prematurely gave it to it.

How about the playoff last week? It was, it was going five for finishing up as we were, um, yeah. And like, there was four guys within 12 feet for birdie puts in only one guy made it.

It was amazing last week.

Third, Ludwig. Again, this is a four looking index.

I think Ludwig is going to win the FedEx cup.

Okay. Fifth. We all see it. We all see it. We all see it.

Fourth. That was like Brennan. I feel like you said something. I'm like looking for my papers for by like a little to the Ludwig thing. I'm like, don't we have some charts or something to show them?

And silly, isn't it? Can we get some some info over here? Uh, they just, uh, Brennan is fourth. And then we've got a log jam at five. Big tie.

The Fitzpatrick brothers, Jackson Coivin, P. Sam Burns, Oliver Lindell, shot, uh, 59 this week. I think playing a recreational round. And, uh, in Rossfield. Oh, my guy.

I love seeing it.

I love seeing Ross out there.

And then we just missing the cut. We've got got her up and, and Dr. Redmond. I think that this might be the most sensible one yet. And, you know, Doc Redmond, he was leading today at one point. It would have been kind of a pseudo battle field promotion.

Yeah. I don't think it would wiki up great. Like a wiki battle field promotion. Exactly. He wouldn't have been upgraded into the playoffs.

But, um, but yeah, there you have it, guys. Four or five. When you've just been upgraded into the fall series. Like you would have got to play. I assume so.

Yeah. Yeah.

Any other wind of notes you want to, you want to hit on the way out?

I don't know. I'm seeing the speed tracker was pretty despondent. Trackers. There's a lot of them. Speed what did go OB with his opening shot with an iron.

Uh, this week. But, but can report. And what happened? He did finish T-19. So, absolutely taste it haters.

He had. He had to. Did you make those 36 goals? Fucking hard. I was just gonna make the cut on the note.

Oh, good. Just need as well. On Friday, he drove it like was easy. They're so far right or so far left. I can't remember.

Just a mile into the trees. I had to punch back get some like crazy up and down. Made like a 30 footer to make the cut on the number. Yeah. Top 20.

Guess what we get to do this week is he's 54th heading into this week. He's gonna be on bubble watch from the jump. Uh, I probably get a sponsored exception to BMW. Doesn't get it. It's unfair.

That's what it goes for. Who's injured? Peter Monati's put. He's put on Friday. That was good.

Through his putter up and he was pretty despondent. And then he kind of turned away and it had gone in the meantime. That was to make the cut. Yeah. Yeah.

I think I just wanted to get your thoughts on trenching.

It seems to be picking up steam in the wider landscape. I saw, sorry. I got kids was talking about it on the four play pod a couple weeks ago. JT slid in the comments and said he stands with kids on this one. Everybody thought I was crazy a couple years ago when I was talking about Zander doing this

a lot. Windems, you know, notorious for it. Where do you guys fall out on trenching? I of course know what this is, T.C.B. Uh, maybe for the listenership you could explain what trenching is.

It's basically when got like you see these guys just pounding on their line all the way.

Like pounding the grass down every spike mark, every blade of grass all the way to their level to the point where I think some of these guys like Windems putter where he's 12 pounds. I think that that he is is essentially building a trench a trough all the way from his ball to the hole.

It's like a half pipe almost. And I think it's a problem. Yeah. Some of the world were one stuff going on. Yeah.

The doughboys are out there. Yeah. I'm out on it, T.C. I hate it. I hate it.

It's not good. I don't know what to do about it. I don't know what to do about it. Proof some people in the act. I'd love to see some footage.

You know, I feel like I'm just kind of hearing about this second hand. But I need to see some. I need to start paying closer attention. When I was tweeting about it, somebody somebody sent a clip of sawly. It banned the dunes.

A trench. I was going to find this.

I don't know.

I hate that.

The problem is it's it's within the rules.

The spirit of the rules.

So this is where Neil gets himself in trouble.

And does this intent thing that doesn't. Isn't really actually a part of the rules as well. But like you're allowed to repair anything in your line. And I don't know how you police that to say, like you can't. What's what's making too much of an impression on on the ground.

Like a. I mean, I saw that different than the price and thing at the open. Is it? Just take some some rules officials to say, no, that's you're not. You're not doing that.

That's not what we're doing. You are improving your life. I just got it to have to, you know, employ some some eye test. Exactly. And you know, I like I applaud the rules officials.

We've got the the pace of play metrics that are being published on the corn fairy tour now. We could take this to step farther. I agree. Yeah.

DJ, I applaud your stand.

Sally. I'd like to see a little bit more background. I would like to. If you're going to throw an accusation at me here. I need some.

You know, you bet you did it in front of a hundred thousands of people here. I would like to have a little bit of evidence. It was hard for three. I remember it. But the clearest day.

Somebody sent the video into you and on a tweet. I'm looking for it here. Do you have that you want to share any of that evidence here? Yeah. Probably got shadow band.

It's. And also, T.C.

If you remember it, should you have called it in the moment?

Because now. Art is there blood on your hand. I'm told it's it's not, you know, it's not against the rules. So. We'll see.

And you also told me all it was against the rules for him to double hit it. So I don't know. I thought it was. That's just it. So.

Anyway. More on this story as a development. Yeah. Stay tuned. It's solid Memphis.

They're they're not going to be a championship series event moving forward. That is correct. So we'll see. Yeah. And it just happens there.

Well, an interesting one that has implications. We haven't really started talking that much about yet. I feel like which is the FedEx deal ending after the 27 season. So right as we're kind of kind of blow up the system and reconfigure it. I mean, the FedEx the FedEx cup deal is a massive massive massive.

I don't know. I don't have the numbers in front of me. I would have to say the by far the bulk of the sponsorship dollars for the PGA tour. And so not only is the, you know, the August swamp fest event going away. But it sounds like not even like a championship series event elsewhere in the schedule.

So I don't know. This is another one of those. I would reiterate almost everything I said about Greensboro in that Memphis is a very old event.

I think TPC Southland is a good golf course for the PGA tour.

It seems like it could be kind of one of those premier challenger type events. I would like to watch. Watch dudes play it still, but no idea how the sponsorship element of things work. But I was doing some reading and I like the. I figured if this was Josh Carpenter or Bob Harry or some combination of both.

So apologies, but it seems like the tour is going to be much more. It's going to be much more open to maybe having like group sponsorships of some of those challenger events, which I think ends up making a ton of sense for some of those that are smaller like media properties. It almost bring like three kind of proud partner like they do at the tour championship or the players or whatever. And almost have kind of three small sponsors rather than just like one traditional title sponsor.

I thought that was an interesting interesting. As long as we don't get those names like the 15 word name. I'm sure that we will. Yeah. Well, then we shorten them to the rage.

We sure we don't have to worry about that. We're not going to try actually obligated to call them that. That's okay. That's their problem. Do you want to talk block ETC?

Yeah, I mean, I think we have to, right? It's just that's the. I feel like this is just developing responsible thing. We have to do. I feel like this is still just moving so quick right now.

I've got my camera is just this. This is a fight of your life tonight. On your first. The rich. Speaking of on the Fritz guys, Blockie had a big week.

He was over at the. Some senior. Sit this European tour. Yeah, senior. Senior.

Yeah, it was it. It's at Trump Aberdeen at the new course. The PGA senior. Yeah. He.

First of all, he made an ace earlier in the.

As he as he does. It flew. It flew directly into the top. Which is is very, very like him. And then today.

A varying reports.

Blockie has refuted it to in a text to Evan Priest.

He said that he showed up a little bit late to the T.

Because he was signing autographs and taking pictures for people.

Not for people for volunteers. And he also took complete ownership.

He said first time in my career.

Completely my fault. So he's not passing the buck to the volunteers. He got deep. So he didn't withdraw. He got deq.

I guess. Today. He did. He just wrote a call to withdraw and to notify. Officials for an injury and things like that.

It sounded like the weather was pretty bleak over there. It sounded like he didn't want to be out. I've heard. Conditioning was tough. Maybe.

He was trying to get. He was trying to miss his tea time this morning. The report from Monday. Q and Friday. And then block.

He's refuting. He was a sponsor exemption. And there was rumors that he was complaining about the. The condition of the golf course, which. Again, I would.

I would hate for. D to, you know, hear about that. And possibly put. Put blocking out blast. For sure.

Yeah. We will monitor this. Yeah. Blockie took to social media. Said yes.

I was a couple of seconds late to my tea time today. I got caught up taking pictures for volunteers.

First time my career completely my fault.

Two. Yes. I did tell my playing partners that I was withdrawing. There was a report that he just walked off without telling anybody. He refused that.

I strongly recommend certain social media. Accounts from reporting false information.

I think you get the spirit of what he says.

This is a spirit of the rules situation. You know what he's. He's trying to say. He's trying to say fuck that guy. It's what he's trying to say.

But you know, you know, it's a little. A little calmer tone. Hate seen it from blocky. I think he's, I think he's getting a. A sponsor exemption next week as well.

Have you got to say, like, I think I'm. Think I'm good. I think we're. We're.

There's so many array to move on.

I think this like act four, but it was about to be about to get really sad. There's so many. So many things that readies, readies, unpopular the moment and you let it. You let that both sail for a couple of years and everybody comes back around and like, man, Randy really.

Randy nailed that one right for the jump. He got that one right away. This would be the latest example. We need to figure out what Randy thinks about trenching. For sure.

Yeah, I can probably pretty easily predict that. It's not good to see. Should we get to our guy Neil, are we ready for. We have an electric appearance from our guy Neil. It's going to it's going to it's going to.

You could tell he was he was his heart rate was up. It's going to get your heart rate up as well. Before we get there knowing a podcast brought to you by our friends at Woop. Butter up a few. It gives a few challenges tonight, huh? Yeah, guys, there's a long week last week. I was we kind of like nine hours of podcasts. I was I've been looking forward to this vacation.

And on the way out the door Thursday. I was like, you know what? I'm going to go to live. I'm going to go to Trump bed minister. It's 24 minutes from my where I live in New Jersey.

And I was I bought two tickets. They were 28 dollars a piece. My father and I was going to come with me. He had he then he bailed on me. He couldn't go get a work thing.

So I rolled solo down south. You know, you kind of take those back country roads. Take me home to the place that I belong. And I went with an open mind. Okay.

I wanted. I could almost feel the regret of six months from now.

If I was like, oh, this thing is no longer.

And I, I never, I never went to one.

So this is the first time I've been onsite to a live event. No traffic literally almost no cars drove into the general parking lot. And I counted. I was in the, the back row. There were about 540 cars that'd be my, like, pretty solid estimate.

I was like, all right, cool.

I got there at one 30, I think like 131 35.

Shotgun star was at 105. So I was like, all right, I'm kind of in the, you know, it's not like it's all day like a normal golf tournament. It's, you know, you got to hit that shotgun, baby. It was like a 20 minute walk.

Like, went through the metal detectors. Everyone was like, well, welcome to the party. So I was like, yo, are you here alone? Like, he was, I was like, yeah, man, he was like driving a courtesy card.

And he was going to give me a ride. And I was like, no, I got, you know, I'd use the back. Thanks for coming back out. This guy's here alone. Look, let's just grab it.

No, no, no car. And he found it. Oh, so I'm here here. Yeah. So I'm walking.

And it's a long ass walking. It's hot and humid. And I just want to say it's first off golf but louder. This place was wired. So no, Spady.

It wasn't so no. But it's just like the speakers. They have not did the build out. Seems like it's dropped way, way down. Like dramatically less build out.

Speaks.

Properties wired hooked up to these like portable Honda generators.

There was probably a big S speaker every 30 yards. And they're bumping some ambient club jams. They'll mix in the top 40 jam every now and then.

But like songs I never heard and songs that I was kind of vibe in.

But I'm kind of feeling like I'm out on the serengeti. Like there's nobody else there. So it kind of cuts both ways. Like I'm grooving a little bit. But then you're like, I'm at a party and nobody's here.

So it kind of, you know, it's kind of depressing. So anyway, I get in like the main area. They got club 54 right behind the 18th green. I was starving. So I went and bought a what they called a jumbo dog for $11.

It was like a miniature fumans or Nathan's hot dog. And then I got a water that was five bucks. So I'm up to, you know, 16 bucks right there. Then they're asking me for a 20% tip auto default 20% tip. Guys, we talked about this on the trap trial.

We don't like that. No cash accepted either. No cash. But Neil, those vendors might not get paid dog. No.

I paid. I paid. I dropped it to 10% I did tip them. But they didn't.

I mean, they just grabbed the dog off the hot plate.

You know, anyway, I'm talking to these. There were three frappers at the concession stand with me. And they're complaining because one of them has for double teetos. And they charged the double. And he's like, you know, these drinks are 25 bucks.

Man, this is bullshit, you know. So not helping the party vibes. That's my point. So TC first thing. I get in there.

Who's TN off on 10? Matt Lee should Maddie. And they're playing with Sebastian Moonios and a guy. He was like a live free agent.

I think he might be like the high flyers replacement.

The Asian guy and I can't I don't actually don't know who it was. So they're all the the all the caddies in the players throughout the day. They're all drinking out of those aluminum like country club cups. You know, like Trump bed minister. And they got straws in them.

And they're all like tears. And I think there's like a Trump bed minister slushy. Because they're all like the team. And then there's team guys all were in the same uniform. And they're like given them the the Ripper guy came up behind 16 and gave Maddie a couple new ones.

And the leash was like Oh, thank you, man. And they're like tears in the slushies. So they're in shorts. They're all wearing socks. And it's like matching, you know, like team unis.

It just feels like a member guest. It's crazy. They're like hitting range finders, you know. And then like nobody like. So it was three.

Yeah, like like like. But now what now you're out like I'm on 10 green and 11. And the there's like one or two speakers a whole now. And so it gets a little bit like. And I don't know, you can hear that club jams off in the distance.

But now you can also hear the wind. And so you're like the only guy out there. There were three players in the group. Three counties have six. There and I counted five volunteers.

So I'd say 11. Let's call it 12. And there was a walking score. So let's say 12 13 people. There were two other humans.

It was me and three others. There's me a dad and a son. And then these guys are signing autographs in between holes. Which I thought was sick. I was like, you know, I mean, and I mean,

they're going from 10 to 11 T.C. I'm mad. He was like, no, what's up? I'm like mad. He was like, it was like, it was sick.

So that was fun. It saw a ton of golf who comes through next Peter Uline. Big homies got a towel on his shoulder. The only time he took it off was to hit like driver. He was keeping with a towel on his shoulder.

He was muster. He was putting with a towel on his shoulder. He's got this huge muster. I mean, he's a vibe. And I'm like, I'm like, man, I haven't thought about Peter Uline in like three years.

Like, whoa, and so I hate to say this because it's going to sound mean, but I'm going to send it. It felt like being at the zoo. I was like, oh, we should check it out.

Like, you don't want to go to the zoo.

And there's a lot of people there.

It's really fun. You don't want to go to a zoo. And there's not a lot of people there. It's kind of depressing. Like, oh, man, there's Paul Casey.

Like, man, I hope that he's getting fed. You know, like it's hot out here. And like, they take care of these. Got, you know, like, in. Well, but I see puppies wearing pants.

And he jumps one on 18 like from 80 yards. Just spins it back in the water. Didn't even react. And I'm like, man, that kind of sucks. Like, there's just, you just this feeling of like it doesn't matter.

You know what I mean? Like, he just like gave his wedge to the caddy walked up like no big deal. So not a lot of people in the announcer. Then there's like a MC on 18. Because I, this is after I saw you on that.

When I went back over to 18 club 54, you know, there's like the, the premium hospitality. There's like one big hospitality area. Go back over and there's an MCs. Like, welcome to the team's green.

You know, bubble watts for rain codes. You know, and yeah, and he's just like Mike Sposa. You know, it's just like, what did we do there? Age. I was there Thursday.

So like, I was, I was best, best round of the week. She had 69, 77, 78, 74. And his range goes. And all I can comment on is I, I just the general energy is like, off, you know, man, like he just was like from 80.

I was like, damn from 80 yards. Like, what the, what the hell was that? So anyway. What, I will say this.

I went over to, I wanted to nine and there were finally,

I'm like, okay, here's some, here's a crowd. Probably, I'm not counted. It was just under 100 people around nine green. It was nemen, Bryson and Lucas Herbert.

And that was the biggest crowd I saw Bryson's, I think four

over through eight holes. The shotgun sucks guys. You don't know where anybody is. There's only one scoreboard. It's on 18.

So like that, you could leave the music. I'm cool with the music. Take this. Take the shotgun start away. I'm, I'm so out on that.

And I found that very frustrating. I didn't know where anybody was. And there's, there's just no way to track anything. And so Bryson comes through and he's all, he's all pissy candidly.

Like he's just not happy. Herbert hits one basically into the patio.

They're trying to give him TIO.

He refuses to take it. It hits a filthy flop shot from like the, the lawn next to the patio. And I got this picture of his caddy. It looks like David Letterman with the slushy and one hand

in the rangefinder and the other in shorts and high socks. I'm like, this is it. Man, like I'll, I'll send it to you. It is an epic epic picture. And I was like, if I had to sum up,

if someone was like, yo, what's live golf all about it?

Like, here's the picture. Check this shit out. So, and then Neiman, I will give team Torque credit. They've got, they look like an F-1 team. A lot of support staff in the crowd

and they're all wearing the, like, turquoise gear with tort, like the T is like, you know, looks like it's going real fast. And then the wags were all wearing matching, pink, like, skin type sports dresses.

And so it was like, that's team Torque. I saw them, you know, I was like, oh, there they are. Uh, I think we're keeping all club meal. All right. Or hey golf club.

Neiman's girlfriend and her wife. She had two French bulldogs and, like, one of those beach carts. And she's pushing them. And she's working.

Like, she's sweating. She's got these two dogs out there with her. And they're going and getting slushies for Neiman. You know, they're cheers in the crowd. I'm dead serious.

It's like, he's like out in the crowd among the people. It was sick. Um, so another, let me just get through this. Another couple things before my lights go out. Uh, you could see I'm struggling with a, with power at the beach here.

Um, I will give him credit. The, the team vessel bags. They're running circles around the OEMs on the PGA tour. The, the, the cleeks golf bags. So sick.

You know, and then, and then, you know, I'm a weirdo amount. They're alone. Tom, Thomas D. Tree's got a Celsius sponsorship. And I'm like, how do you get that? It's just just Celsius.

You know, the caffeine drink that makes you feel like you're going to. That made TC freak out. I'm like, man, I guess. Uh, I guess. D tree's just getting hyped, but like,

Celsius isn't like a live sponsor. So that was interesting to me.

Uh, but I think if I had to pay to a picture, like,

I was going to pay to a picture, like, I was going to pay to a picture. So I was going to pay to a picture, like, I was going to pay to a picture. So I was going to pay to a picture, like, I was going to pay to a picture. So I was going to pay to a picture, like, I was going to pay to a picture. So I was going to pay to a picture, like, I was going to pay to a picture.

So I was going to pay to a picture, like, I was going to pay to a picture. So I was going to pay to a picture, like, I was going to pay to a picture. So I was going to pay to a picture, like, I was going to pay to a picture. And I just, I don't, there's something there. I wrote it down.

I was like, I don't know, man. It just felt like such a juxtaposition of, like,

I'm like, Richard Blan, Morgan Wallen.

Nobody's watching.

And then I'm thinking, like, what if Richard Blan was doing one of those walkouts with them?

You know, and it's like walking into, like,

you know, an even stadium in Tennessee, like, Peyton Manning's walking around. Like, what if Richard Blan was doing that? You know, and I was like, God, that would make TC so happy. But just like the music with, like, some deeply uncool people. Like, it works with, like, Anthony Kim comes through.

I watched him come through and it's like, oh, man, yeah, like he's got swag. But then it's like, well, then, you know, Sebastian Munoz and Plan D, I'm like, I just didn't really work in for me. And guys, again, I'm being generous here. And, you know, the truth, like, all you, your, your pictures are,

you take pictures of the, and to the part, they were no more than 2,000 people there. No more, I mean, they were more than the course of extended men's golf tournament. It was crazy. And, and, and we're, so, you know, maybe a little plug for our Tuesday episode. We're coming out with an episode about a tournament build out,

like the BMW Championship and all that goes into building a PGA tour event. And what I found interesting is, like, in doing that project. On the PGA tour, the stakes are getting ramped up every year. I think they've figured out that, like, going to a golf tournament in the middle of the summer in most markets, sucks. It's hot. It's sweaty.

You worn out, like, you almost, like, want to pass out sometimes, especially because, like, it costs a lot to buy food or whatever. So they're building out these massive hospitality cities. And lives going the opposite direction. There's one build out.

And it's just, there's not, like, my takeaway was there's just not a lot of momentum. Not my light just went out. So that's tough. But, um, you look great. And so I'm glad that I saw it in person. And I, you know, you'll say, like, all year, you know, your bias or whatever.

I'm just like, you know, what I saw was like, I saw a lot of golf, which is the positive. I saw the players having a pretty good time as they should.

But I'm like, man, we put six billion dollars into this thing.

Like, this is tough, man. You know, and like, I don't know, I did, but I will say this. I bought some crushers, stickers about a live golf sticker. And I bought a t-shirt because I liked that montage design on the back. And I was hoping to do something with Maruzzo logos similar to TC.

So I'm going to, I'm going to showcase that. But, uh, and the, and the merge time was interesting. Like, all the different, there's something, maybe something there on, like, team golf and the gear. But out on the course, like, other than the support staff, the only logo I saw is crushers gear.

And like, I think that logo is do, like, tremendously lame.

So that's just my paper. So that's, that's my on the ground, keep that. Did you go to the Cleaks Garden party? I did. I didn't go to petting zoo.

No, I didn't. Maybe when I saw Bubba jump in the water. Yeah, it ascended. In a sense, I did.

But I heard it like over the, like, you know, you could hear the 18th hole MCB and, like,

Here comes, you know, Paul Casey. And I'm like, oh, my God, I haven't thought about Paul Casey. It's so long like the original chap. Like, why wonder what he's up to? You know, he was like, three over, just not playing great.

It's just, um, it's all real. Yeah, Neil Paul, Neil Paul Casey made $608,000 this week. And credit to a man, like he's, you know, what a, what a swan song for that guy. But like, you know, I just, I just not getting a lot from it. And it's, again, if it was, if it was exhibition golf to see these names that,

former, top 10 players in the world, former major winners. Like, that's great. Like, you know, that's a, like, a, you know, like, you know, we're barren storming the country or the world. Like, I understand that.

It's just like, but the amount of dollars into this thing for that product on the way out is just like, Yeah, it was bleak, man. It was just, it kind of, I was, my, my legs were scrambled on the drive home. I'm like, damn. And when I, and I want to say this, when I left the parking lot, I counted.

I think maybe they were like, 560 cars there. You know, because I left a little early. And I'm, but my car was still in the last row. You know what I mean? I was like, okay, I don't think any more people came, you know what I mean?

Like, I don't, I don't know. I had it on. You didn't miss there was no influx of people that came late. It was, and it's, I couldn't. It's bullshit that your father-in-law failed.

Well, he had it. No, I gave him a late note. When he talked about it like last Sunday, and then I didn't really like confirm with him until more. I had a, we're a long week. So he was like, ah, I have, I had a couple meetings got scheduled.

So he ended up, he ended up getting into the field. So he was playing. It's a wild card of, I flyers. I mean, it was, it was, I'm glad I went. I'm really glad I went.

And, you know, again, like, did you get into the farm? It's like, I saw some golf. Like, if you had the kids from, it is. It's like, if you have kids and you want to go, like, see, Bryce and I'm close, like, great opportunity.

Like, all, like, if you want to go, but it's,

thing is, it's really hot, not a lot of shade. It's not, like, going to a golf tournament. Like, we've laughed about this forever. It's not like super fun, which you can't, like, stand under some shade, you know?

It's like, it's the quarter now.

It was, it was interesting.

Did you buy a, of course, was a, a maculate.

Did you buy any live career stuff that was on sale?

Look, like, they were trying to offload a bunch of stuff from prior events. They didn't sell, like, like, live Korea ball markers and things like that. And one of the merchandise 10 pictures of that. I didn't see that. But one live New York, like, custom tea.

It was, like, 50 bucks. I'm like, yeah, I don't think I need that. But then each, each team has, like, its own little capsule. And the key seed credits are the clicks. I mean, there's fish it's tight.

Yeah. And then the crushers have the biggest, you know, biggest booth. And then the kind of four aces and the high flyers stuff is awful. And so is the Oklahoma golf club.

I mean, it's just awful looking, man. Truly horrendous stuff. And the rippers, they don't have much swag either. No offense, deletion and camp. But that's, that stuff's a little, little budget, too.

What the, I think it's like just ripper, just ripper. No ass. It's clear. Ripper, yeah. You know, and I, I think the, honestly, the, the, my time in the merch.

And was, was interesting, you know, like each team, as well, and pictures where they're all, like, you know, it feels, still on the high flyers, one, he's like,

What's that, you know, in case I was like,

short. Yeah, what's that? So it's back there. It's just a lie. I didn't, I didn't see wrong.

I didn't see what's that. So like, again, the shotgun start. I can't find anybody. But I feel like I, I was there for three hours. I feel like I accomplished what I wanted to.

And I left before I, like, passed out. Because I wasn't going to buy another jumbo dog for 12 bucks or 11 bucks. I guess that's your part. Your card of the company card to buy the jumbo. I expense this whole thing.

Yeah. So Randy's going to see that come through. But we did. We, yeah, so we, we put some money in the till. And yeah, I just, I don't know.

I know you guys are going to go through it. And I don't have to get involved. But I, yeah, I hear about this. You know, some, a road like investors. I'm just like, what, what are we?

What are we investing in, man? I don't know. I don't know. No, there was there today on Sunday. Did you see that in person?

I just don't know. But Dan did, you know, the tournament in South Africa. You know, like the one in Australia, like you know, there are people there.

Like, so I'm just, I am all I'm commenting on is what I saw on Thursday. And I know like, wind them. You look at the, you watch it on golf channel. Like, that like there's a ton of people in the stands. It's a wind them championship on Thursday either.

But I think it's more than, you know, 1500 people, honestly. Like that.

I never seen anything like this.

Were there, was there a concert anywhere on this one?

Because like, that's like my, like, my feet are going to hurt. That there's like the reason they get people to these events is there's a concert held after the golf. Like that's, that's part of the reason my people are at these tournaments.

And didn't hear anything about a concert this week, which could help contribute a lot to their not being anybody out there. They had a shirt in the, maybe that was one of the Korean ones. But there was like a, it looked like a, maybe a Korean woman DJ and they had like a graphic tea of her

in the, in the merch tent. Like, huh, I wonder if she's playing. But maybe that was in Korea. I don't know, Sally. But I didn't, I didn't see any signs for a concert of any kind.

Yeah. So anyway, I'm, I'm, it's, it's pitch black out here. I got no power at the beach. Neil, Neil, Neil, Neil real quick. Four guys made a million bucks plus at least a million bucks this week.

On the left. Can you name, obviously, what I would one. Yeah. Well, did I see, was it, A, I thought, wrong one. He won the individual.

Oh, okay. Yeah. He was already so far ahead that he won the, okay. Let me think, who's playing well? Pulter.

I would guess Pulter's one of those guys. No, Pulter faded. Oh, there's still a little majestic though. Got, majestic zero swag in the March 10 to zero swag. Man, I don't know if the fuck's on the majestic man.

Who? Who was it?

You used to be never a player of the world.

I. Shit. Oh, Lee Westwood. Lee Westwood. Finished.

Okay. Wow. He was Scott Vincent. And then Harold Barnard III. Really?

Charlie's a. Three. Five million dollars this week. Okay. See golf club.

God. Oh, I saw Gucci. Yeah, that was like, again, the zoo analogy. I was like, oh, shit. There's Taylor Gucci.

Like, have a part of that. I am a couple years. Like, Gucci. Gucci's out. I have a part of that.

Gucci's here. Yeah. I mean, you're real off close with these guys. Like, you know, and the, the, the, the. You got to like this.

The.

The robber. It's from the build out pod. All the stakes were different colors. And red steaks and blue steaks. Nobody had a paint glove.

Do you know what's paint? I'm on a green. No details, man. You don't. No idea.

You're name on that. That's your name on that.

And it's different colored stakes out there.

Well, all right. A lot of blinded for us, Neil, before you got the way. Did we grow the gamer not? Uh, I mean, TC's that like victim is climb. But then you're like, man, that's just a lot of like six

billions. A lot of money. Even, let's be generous.

Let's say it's three billion.

That's still a lot of money. Like I just think that could be used better. I really, I, I sincerely believe that. I'm sorry if that offends anyone. But it just doesn't seem like it works.

Like it's not a good. It's not a good business. And I, I just can't get behind that. And I will, I will not be investing. So I was out there seeing, you know, saying there.

They're, they're looking for invested. I'm just, I'm bottom line DJ is I will not. I will not be writing that check for the future. Or loading the money money. No, I won't be doing either of those things.

All right. We're going to let you go. All right. We're going to let you go. We're going to let you go.

Get your power situation figured out. Thank you for calling in this. Yeah. A pleasant surprise. Didn't think we're going to make this work with your power situation.

But thank you for your on the ground reporting. Greatly appreciated. Of course. Have a great show guys. Thanks for having me on your program.

All right. That's the nuts and bolts. Mostly nuts. I would say. A lot of nuts.

I just have to say. There was some news from the live golf tour this past week. There was a statement from live on Wednesdays. As live golf has an agreement in place where they lead investors signed by the investor

and approved by the board to anchor the transaction and play a key role in supporting the path forward

for the leagues next era driven by and for the players. We're also seeing strong interests or more than a dozen additional parties to potentially serve as minority investors creating a multi partner model built for long terms stability and growth. Notably our next chapter will make our players the majority equity holders and live golf.

A first for a major global sports league and gives the league the foundation to keep growing the game worldwide.

We anticipate finalizing terms in the coming weeks with the goal of entering a transaction in September. And the meantime, our focus is on delivering a great week for fans and players at Bedminster and finishing the 2026 season strong. Haters can taste it, man. Just taste it.

So that's it. We absolutely licked it. The 2026 is stunting all over you all week. That's right. We'll get there if you want.

2026 season's going to finish really strong. Apparently, according to Scott O'Neill. The team event is no longer listed on the Fox Sports broadcast schedule. Anyways, Scott in his in his media visits said pivoting to what I'm talking about here. It's very good news.

We're very fortunate that a lead investor has signed a term sheet approved by our board, which will carry and fund live going forward. It's very good news for us.

He was asked, can you say more about this investor?

Any background on who it is? What it is? How much money they've committed? What I could he said? What I can tell you is what I told you.

At this point, we are keeping the details of the deal.

The investor and much of what you might want to know in the second phase out of the media didn't give a timeline.

Didn't give any details at all. And the terms wouldn't say if it was alone. If it was an investment, didn't give any indication on players that would be potentially staying, or an update on the team championship in this visit. Seems like a done deal.

No, certainly is not the financial times. I believe it was sujeet end up reported that live golf had enlisted private capital group BC partners. As it seeks a quote, "grand bargain" between new investors. Saudi Arabia has sovereign wealth fund and its top players to keep the loss making tour alive after the kingdom ends its funding. The investor is the credit division of BC partners.

The London-based private equity company. Gordon people with the familiar with the matter. Bloomberg news first reported that BC partners was the lead investor. They also continued on to say yet the path to a final agreement for live has turned into a complex multi-party negotiation. According to the people involved with BC partners and other possible investors seeking assurances that live star players will stay with the league.

Several leading players including John Romero, guaranteed payments worth potentially hundreds of millions of dollars under contracts that extend beyond this month. When the PIF has said it will end in cease funding for the league. The PIF is considering paying off these contracts at a discount to settle any potential liability as well to avoid bad publicity. Leaving the players position to sign fresh deals with the BC partners back to circuit that would include cash as well as equity in the new league according to those close to the negotiations.

I thought it was interesting that I don't know if they are a majority investor or just an investor in GSE which is the agency that represents Bryson among a host of other live players.

The potential investor slash in in some ways I hesitate to even call it an in...

Kind of deal is also has an interest in the representation of the players like it just seems like there's so many different hands and all of this and I guarantee you.

It's like every spotty sense of my body is going off that the Kush Randy's guy the Kush is going to walk in with his affinity partners family family fund and be a part of of this this you know fund raise.

I'll finish out the rest of this report here. It said O'Neill and his public remarks confirm that equity stakes would be a key selling point to players to convince him to stick with live with the golfers envisioned as collectively owning a majority of the door. I love it. Good time to get in. I said a settlement may come in the form of a prepackaged bankruptcy where a court process could quickly cleanse legacy liabilities and allow new investment to come in free of any entanglement from the previous era.

And the new investors will need assurances that those players are not going to pursue any money from the piff and say we got stiff that is from a quote from a person said of the discussion that's in the report.

Also, if note the piff has dispersed the money it has committed to 2026 and shortfalls in staging the tournaments rest with live set a person familiar with the Saudi funds thinking so basically.

This live is sent to our piff and sent their money over and whatever the live is unable to execute it's because they're spending money a lot of other ways or budgeting budget and properly or a lot of things you might suspect so.

What does this all mean? A lot of humble jump of a lot of it all mean are the white came on the air and said that Scott O'Neill had announced that live had secured investment for a 2027 season and beyond. That is if you read it closely that is not what Scott O'Neill said I did ask our low directly to see if he would like to clarify what he meant there and he did not receive a reply. So I don't know if he just hadn't gotten to yet. He's been back on Twitter and replied to a lot of other people, but just I asked him directly, you know, did you want to clarify what you meant there and didn't get a reply here, but.

Basically the the financial times article was the eye opening part of what we long suspected with in relation to this of.

It's going to depend on what players stay like it sounds like the funding and the loan or whatever it is BC partners is extending live golf is contingent on keeping the star players around which makes it a. Easy-ish quote investment, you know, quotation marks around that word for them of it's low risk they're not going to be stuck paying the Lucas Herbert's a ton of money. They're concerned the the only hope would live golf is to retain some of these top players convincing that there is equity value in the league and funded in the short term.

It will get more complicated than that, but doesn't sound like live has any funding without the assurances that the star players are returning so. There's all sorts of back and forth as to whether Michigan is happening.

Maybe they've pulled like there's been no build out at Michigan and yeah like it's on the Fox sports website it's no it's no longer listed as as an event on on Fox sports it's still as of today listed on the live golf website I believe but.

Yeah, that that certainly does not seem like it's it's headed towards towards happening. Listen, there's many things in this world I don't understand it's very possible that this will end up being one of them. I don't understand this and I've read it 13 times I've listened to everything I've watched everything. I've read all the all the reaction I'm just like I feel like I'm just kind of taking crazy pills I'm like I don't know what I don't even know what we're what we're talking about here. What with like what players are staying like Bryson and then Bryson kind of talks to the New York Post and he's I'm 100% sure about live future like we're good.

And I'm just like I haven't had a great thing on golf channel this week and it was just like like Rob's kind of the only thing that seems like he matters you know the the only thing that seems like it matters is kind of what Rob decides to do I would think because outside of like maybe Bryson wants to turn this into some sort of. and this into some sort of eight person Harlem Globetrotters tour maybe like maybe and maybe that's kind of what this is circling is like we're shrinking it down because I know the number that kept getting thrown out was like 250 million which is.

What 5% of what they've spent on yeah so far and so I'm like everything has to radically change but it's they're pitching it as though nothing is changing. Rob seems like he is like dead behind the eyes every time he's asked about this thing I'm sure the last thing he wants to do is make this league even sillier.

It just is a just all kind of makes absolutely no sense to me and then you pa...

And there's 500 some cars in the parking lot and ambient club jams and slushies and I'm like I just I don't think we're moving in the right direction but you know spending about four years longer than I thought it was going to go so who knows. I just don't understand tax loss obviously literally yes and that's where I'm like I had there's probably some sort of weird financial engineering going on that somebody's got to understand and swoop in and pick this corpse clean somehow and up making a billion dollars on the deal I'm not one of those people I don't really know how that works and I don't think Bryson knows how it works either.

Like who knows could be wrong could be wrong but I would just say based on everything Neil said it's I just don't think you can.

I don't know man I don't think you can say it enough times like if you couldn't do it with six billion dollars it's not like a small administration like administrative change that we need it's not a new investor that's just everything nothing but it's not going to work and so it's a little bit of like.

Play stupid games when stupid prizes here if anybody wants to put any money into this you deserve everything that's coming to you.

If the only thing that's working is the international events and I have half the events right yeah but you know if that's what they're saying obviously the financial times is part of the cricket golf course no if that's what they're saying it I would understand. But it just turns into these like even your tour anymore either by the way even Bryson just yeah right the Asian tours it's all that stuff but even Bryson's and Scott on Neil both like the the amount of time that they've pivoted towards the growth of the game stuff we're like no you guys don't understand like all we're trying to do is grow the game.

And it's like great I'm sure John Robbs fucking stoked to go do that for free like equity what are you talking about do.

Equity in what.

What are we pricing Bryson wants to build their own stadium for sure that whole thing that's probably the issue they don't control if they don't have a throw that the venues.

Yeah that's probably what's wrong with it it's just bananas. It is.

And again I this is like I said this a bunch of times when the shit pops up and it just becomes this victory lap everywhere they do a press conference about it.

Our low comes on the air and just says they've secured investment everyone online's wow the haters are really tasting it today it's like what the fuck are you guys talking like what are you talking about why. Why do we have to keep like the only sensible people of golf like all the journalists and the media people that have just taken barrel fire last for you just on repeat just keep having to raise our hand and be like yo.

That's not what happened you are lying this is a lie you are not presenting this situation properly here it is it's just it's been one of the most mind numbing five years of.

just complete shock of like I keep I I my own head I'm like testing my own logic my my am I like the one horribly horribly off base here like how could this be possible that there are people that feel this way I how I don't understand it I really really don't it's. I I do appreciate Scott O'Neal's like continued. It's been my entire career I I thrive on this I seek these these fucked up situations out like this is this is my Superbowl. He was getting asked about all sorts of like you know some of the big players and he shifted the conversation to Dean.

So there wasn't a big athlete in the world. The Dean Burmester in South Africa that week and that's the problem. That's your biggest asset like that is the whole problem. And I know Bryson you know Bryson said personally I'd love to be able to play events on the PGA tour to I think that's what's best for golf I'd love that it's on either or mentality it's can we do but I think that's where everybody wants to be there isn't a golf fan on the planet who doesn't want to see me play a big tour event and I get that I'd love to go play events to make sense love to play team golf and love to play wherever they'll let me.

Just a total understanding in the situation.

Solid do you want to talk about John Rom should aid over this week as well.

Dude dude sort of.

If you guys can fucking taste it may be $10 million last three years.

To do what do you want to be by Michael Sasso this week.

It's an absolute dude. The price of that guy's name Matt Vincenzi. I'm thinking about what Satsa's aura. All the debasing that has happened in the last five years. We are going to do it.

We're going to do a big retrospect. Give us some time. It's going to take some time. Because live 1.0 is dead. We know that live might technically still live on an existence as of next year.

And I just the people that have since for live 1.0 I kind of somewhat can get it.

But just the blind stamping for whatever this new version is is where I'm like dude I.

You've got to turn this thing around. We've got to get got to pull some of your friends have got to start talking to you about this. Because you can't just blindly this is not going to be what even the thing that you claim to have liked is. It's not going to be it. It's going to be a complete shell of it.

And the price and thing is it is such a price and nose better.

And that's the key to understand the situation much better than this.

Like he knows like literally better than why he can't play both of the events. But it's just does he? The lame is this is the lamest form of just like let me appeal to my Nickelodeon fans that don't understand the rules and regulations the PJ tour. And like I'm just going to do a few more things to just just to shift the public pressure

on roll app and the PJ tour. Because like in his what he doesn't know better is he's not going to drive that. That's not what's going to drive the PJ tour to cave and just like let him.

First of all he's not going to be able to play the PJ tour much less play both.

Like that is completely off the rails line of thinking. He left the tour knowing that if he left for live golf he was going to get suspended and banned from the events that was told to him. That was upheld at court when they tried a TIO. You know when Gucci and them were waiting outside the gates. To play in the playoffs.

And he said. It's a war. We've got to work. Memphis. Just so much history there.

Burned every possible bridge. There was a returning member program that was offered to him at the beginning of the year. That Brooks kept a took and was able to get back to the PJ tour quickly. It was clearly communicated then if you don't take that. You're not even going to get that offer.

So I don't know what's got there's no precedent for what's coming for Bryson. Like I don't even think the read treatment is is in line with what's happening here.

And it I don't that's going to be a rude awakening for for the people that for some reason still think you should you can come and go as you please more on that.

We'll talk a lot more about the rules of regulation to PJ tour not on this coming weeks pod but in next week's pod where we talk about 1995. That season which we dive into but like I can only explain it so many times on Twitter to people of like. It's not a complicated model the PGA tour asks all of it. All of its members to agree to rules and regulations that include they're not going to play events on sanctioned events in North America. You're not allowed to do that live golf stages several events in North America.

So as soon as they the players teed up and London all of them were suspended very clearly very clear within their rules and regulations. It's been looked into multiple times by the government and challenge and multiple fronts and no one has been able to take them down on that. Because they need to pull everybody's media rights and sell it to sponsorships that for a predictable amount of money and support professional golf as a whole and the charities they support along the way like that's how it works.

You do not get to pick and choose both and live golf does not allow their players releases from their events. So that live golf and it was when it looked at by Judge Freeman in 2022 the quote she had there was paraphrasing live golf contracts are way more. Constricting restrictive than anything with the PGA tour so. She was sick I forgot about her yeah. Well I've been diving back into 2021.

Twenty one twenty two there's a lot of shit we forgot about bed there's a lot of shit. TC GMAC I'll be by 42 shots. He kind of walk I could have given him 10 10 a day. That would be it is as it's just GMAC. So it's driving me nuts I can't find any trace of that message if somebody you might have dreamed of you.

I don't want to live it trenching but I know exactly where it is in the video too. I don't want to your vivid dreams. Do you want to apologize then? Yeah yeah yeah yeah I apologize and bath whoever. Not you pretty enough of putting a microscope on it.

Correct. Yeah anything else on the live front I mean. No please.

No.

They could stop.

Do you want to go to the US women's amt.

Yeah I thought it was delightful.

Master's tallie was she dominated the finals it was honors was great. It's some weather issues throughout the week. You know various thunderstorms rolling through you're going to get that. Tennessee east of Chattanooga and you know early August. But that place is kind of a shrine to amateur golf.

That's kind of why it was built by Jack Lapton. And yeah just it's kind of a Pete dies masterpiece so it's cool to see it televised. Yeah I thought like the maybe the quarter finals that she beat that Ma. I thought maybe. Yeah she was like she looked like she like they were in my opinion the two best players

in the tournament after watching it.

And that was kind of the that was for all intense purposes the final.

But yeah Astrus lost lost the US girls junior and the US women's amt in 2024 to rean Malaxi. And you know she had kind of she was bombed after annual this year's well. And comes out and just dominates eight and six in the final her dad was on the bag. And it feels like just on that topic from earlier of all these young players that have high ceilings. It feels like between Astrus, Tally and Miles Russell that we've got, you know, a couple more coming to the pipeline on both sides of the spectrum there.

So totally totally agree. It was the quarter finals that DJ regrets the air. But Astrus just seems like a, yeah she's got it right. I mean she's very fun to fun to watch. Where's some emotion on her sleeve fun to root for Neil.

I wish Neil's power was working. He was with us because I know he had a lot of great things to say about her. After spending time with her at the US and D.P. Like the development team camp that he went to go check that video out on our our YouTube channel.

I think that video is criminally underwatched.

It's it's very, very fun and a good look at who Astrus is and and what her vibe kind of on the golf courses. One of those kids, it's not, you know, still good. It sounds crazy to say like this is some shocking thing, but like still goes to regular school. You know, a lot of these junior golfers are homeschooled. They travel in around so much and yeah she just seems like kind of a a 17 year old.

A pretty normal 17 year old girl, you know, but a world class talent, which is which has been awesome to watch. And like you said, it's a it's fun to see an amateur golf. It's fun when it's not just kind of one bite at the apple. Like that's the only time we're going to see that person before they turn pro. And with the on what and with, you know, these other things you've kind of been able to build some more context around.

A player like her and so to to see that all kind of pay off and her get a massive dub today is awesome. Do you want to play over under how many majors for Astrus, Tali Tc. Boy, I think you've got stuff to update us on from those. So this afternoon is week. Somebody like churped at us about Rosa's major record. So it was like yeah, the knowing up podcast break that she was going to win 13 majors and I was like.

I'm going to go find this because that was clearly a joke like there that had to have been a joke. And imagine the shock on my face when I found the clip that I'm getting ready to play for you.

I've never done a memorial recap after Rosa won. This is in 2023. This is me doing a bit.

This was this when she won the Mizuhah. This is once she won her first LPGA start. This is me Neal and Tc reacting quickly to that win and putting it over under on major wins for Rosé. Whatever, but over under I've been thinking about this. You know, because I listen to you guys put me on the spot.

I think the number is 13, but I'm going with 13.

12. I like that, Neal. Is this like a bit and all you're saying 13 majors for Rosé? She's 20 years old. Why not? 13. I think she's going to win the U.S. going to open a pebble like going away. 13.

It's not a bit said. I'm dead serious. Put the word out. Like she might win two this year. I mean, that kind of game ages well too. You can't tell. Come on. She could play until she's 50. The over under, like 50 50 chance that she wins, you know, less than 13 and 50%

chances that she wins more than 13. I mean, I'm saying she's going to win over 13. But the number's 13. I think, no, I'm saying she's going to win 13. That's what I'm saying. How many did Monica win?

Listen, Clint's right list. I know I said 11 per Nelly. That list. I might have been a little off on that one. But I know I'm right on this one.

I feel like I was just trying to rile them on.

I don't think I don't think so, man. That's not what I got from that clip.

I said that over at Slack and immediately they're like,

"Oh, it was a bit, guys." I was like, "Uh, you might want to watch the clip." He might want to watch the clip. It was a bit. Oh, my God. That's devastating. It's a 50% God. It's not like credit to you.

That's, I mean, you're really holding the lie there. I kept going. It's done get great for me. I was like four and a half.

I was like, that's been an amazing career.

She won five majors. That looks high right now. I mean, we still got time. I don't want to over react to that. But we should get Neil. Do you guys see the ten year old that WME signed?

That did. That's a week. That did. We should get, uh, ZZ Townsend. Let's check again. Can somebody get that up? Yeah, we should get Neil to the over under on how many majors she wins.

We just think about it. 40 more years. What do you think is that? A 10 year old. It's not good. It's not good, DC.

Okay, okay. Listen, hand up, Sally. It was a bad taste. [laughter] What do you want me to say?

So, that was that delivery, all right. You know, I'm sure I'm going to hear about it from your guy Duffer. [laughter] On X to everything you have. I mean, it's kind of...

I don't know. I don't know.

It's kind of like through the live section.

[laughter] It's at least like one of the funniest. How do we not ever... That happened and nobody ever thought about it for three years. My face when I went back...

Oh, my God! That three years just melted away. It did. It really did. It's terrifying.

What else is in the archives back there? Yeah. Some of the 90s face. [laughter] She was starting to...

One-in-one out. Any old episodes? Get deleted. They got it. We got to wipe those things out.

We only have one out of the time. Ah, Tia, Sally, do you want to... Do you want to... Yeah, Mayor Copa? And you saying that...

Oh, do we... The Weber was going to... What's going to make the soulheim cup team? I don't think that's the era. Why are you writing for her?

You're saying that she was going to be a Dutch... What? She had one... I think he was right. I think he was like...

I think he was not going to get... I was just listening to this episode while I was cutting my glass. [laughter] Tia...

You did it. You might need a clock out, big guy. [laughter] I am clocking out. I'm going on vacation.

You might need it. I think this is a... You know... So that is... Yeah, it's 16 zero.

Tia's got a position player pitch. I think he just... Let's just wrap this one up, I think. No, I don't think so. Ah...

It's so hard cup picks were made. T-C have some thoughts on it. They were... They were... Yeah, I'm pissed that...

The... Norquises of playing. Yeah, sure. I'm upset at that. She's playing better than all of her captain's picks.

Ah, she picked Lyona.

And then three first timers.

Julia Lopez Ramirez. Natasha Nastasia. Nadod. Nadod. Nadod.

Nadod. She's French. Nadod. Nadod. Nadod.

Yeah, and then Mimi Rhodes, who's been playing well. So my thought on the...

French woman is that I think she needs somebody to put pair up with Seline.

Who is kind of a mouth-intent. Doesn't really want the ball. Um... But, and then the ladies' European tour throughout some really bad AI headshots. This was a...

Very jarring concerning photos. Uh, yeah. Yeah, I don't really bad. Yeah. That was a soul-hime cup euro on X, The Everything app.

Just a very weird graphic. Would you... What are you going to ban on the team? Pre-series. Do you humanize that job?

No, I'm not going to ban on the team. And I don't think there's anybody playing well on that US side right now. Do you see a path for victory for the US? I do not. At the moment.

But that could change. That can, of course, change. Uh... We didn't get to this at the top of PGA tour section here. But uh...

If you guys have a chance to look at President's cup standings, maybe come up with a little team, a mock team on either side of the ball. Wouldn't any thought into this? I put a lot of thought. More thought that I care to admit.

Almost. Uh...

I think we have an interesting trauma we were talking about earlier.

I think... I think the President's cup can go one of two ways. At least I'm speaking mostly about the US side. And you already know me and TC are in the bag for the golf course. Think it's going to be a great venue.

Thanks Chicago is going to show up. I think it clocking. It's pre-approved that it could it could be a very good event. The teams... So the six auto qualifiers right now.

This has not been updated yet as of this week.

Uh.

This will lock after after the BMW.

There'll be six auto qualifiers and then sneds will have six captain's picks. And the auto qualifiers right now. Scotty, Camion, Russ Henley, Sam Burns, Ben Griffin. Last year doing a lot of work for Ben Griffin. Uh...

And Colomore, Kahua. Is your six, which leaves... The next six has got her up spawn, Xander, Windom, JT, Bridgeman, and Okshay. I believe. If that's twelve.

Next, that's the next seven. Oh, sorry. Okshay's thirteen. Okay. There you go.

So we kind of have this weird situation where it's like... We can either... I don't think there's any in between as you said earlier, TC. Like I think we can either go... Let's invest in the future.

Let's... Let's get weird. Let's make this thing fun. Or I think it can go. Let's invest in the past.

And it's gonna be JT. And... The Harrison Lish and...

You know, people like that.

I kind of... I think they are gonna middle it. Like that's where I...

I think how things will probably shake out.

So who's your 12th song? Who do I think... I think this is like... I'm not even positive. This is like my 12th or my blend of what I think is realistic that they might do as the top...

as the 12th. But I'll give you a list. It's Scotty. It's Cam. It's more Cala.

It's Burns. It's Zander. And Henley. Or like my... That's my top six.

I ignored the standings. I ignored auto-cappenspicks because... What if... What if Benny Booms is in? I mean, if he...

qualifies he's in and I don't think he would be otherwise. So if he does great, he would not be on my standings. After BMW. After BMW. Okay.

So two more weeks. Oh, the standings did... did process.

This is through the wind of championship.

Four. Okay. U.S. side. Not for the international. Where's Mr. Booms?

He wouldn't know. Booms is fifth. Yeah. There wouldn't be movement at the top. They're pretty...

It's pretty jammed up between about fifth and eighth. And there's gonna be a lot of FedEx cut points available in the playoffs. Sure.

I believe, which is that's the point, system they use there.

And it's one and a half for this year, I think. So more of Calacan pass him, got her up could pass him. That would be... That'd be it. Pass that.

I have an unsexy name in here that I think is going to make it. And is not played bad enough to drop out of it. Be can't lay. I think that involves the middleing part of like... I know that they would go past him for the names that are available.

It's not... It's not that appealing the names that are available. We'll get there. Got her up. And can't lay isn't he?

Can't lay isn't he? Can't lay wasn't even on my list. Well, that might be a you problem. Then it is more than anything else. Can't lay.

Got her up. Wind 'em. Coiven Gerard and J.C. would round out my 12th as of right now. Well, it's big of you to put Ryan Gerard on. I'm a big Gerard guy.

It's one of the highest players in the world. It has been for a long time. I think this ignores for this sake of argument. Your team does not have Ben Griffin on it. It seems like he's going to qualify.

I do not... I do not believe that that's the case. He's like 30 if he might. He's in the playoffs too. He's got access to all these FedEx Cup points as well.

He does. Sure. That's great. But I can't agree with you. Who are you kicking off if he's on the team?

I mean, who do I think is likely to be kicked off out of that would probably be Gerard.

Would be the most likely. Yeah. Dubs playing bad right now. He is. But like...

And again, I don't think this way. And don't think it should. But he won the US open. Like I think he's probably going to be on the team. I think he's press.

Yeah. I mean, can't lay again has been one of the best. One of the 12 best Americans over the last 24 months. 12 months, six months and three months and is ten and four in the president's cup. Do I think they're going to look past that?

No. I mean, probably not. He's been again. We don't have to do the whole stroke scheme conversation. But when way better than Griffin been way better than Gerard been way better than

any other Nate. I could just... You have a hard time making a stronger case than that. Unless you wanted to remove... And I get fans would want to remove themselves from can't lay at this point.

I get that. But I don't think that's the mindset of Team USA at this point. I don't think it's necessarily justified either. There were Bjornson Brennan, Okshay. Can he pee?

Let's get weird, baby. And that's that is very fun podcasting. At no point in my like, all snedickers about to get fucking weird with this man. The home... His one shot at like captaining.

Like, I bet he will take some risks. I bet he is going to maybe risk that they lose to a very bad international team here. Just like just to say new blood in. I don't think that's going to happen. What if Snedickers said, hey, we're going to...

Maybe lose this battle to win some wars down the stretch here. And I would like to... But I cider cup fan. But I die. A rider cup captain in...

That's where I'm at. Let's say 29.

Yeah.

You know, let's build for the future here.

And let me... Let me get a close-up look at some of these youngsters. But this doesn't go great for me. I will not be the rider cup captain in 2020. And I'd be dead if I...

If I blow this one. I'm not willing to lose this battle. I do not think that's ever been... That this wet team USA needs a makeover. Like the whole thought process buying team USA should think like that.

TC, I completely agree. 100%. Where we should pick himself. They've... They've made it very clear that they don't think that way.

So I would not expect that to be the case. Look at the international... We've got to see... Well, who are your teams? Who's on your American team?

I just told you. You just got her listed a bunch of... I don't know how to say... Brian Gerard. Oh, they were Bjornson.

Koyven. Koyven. So who's not on from he... Uh... I would tell...

Yeah, I mean, honestly, I'm telling Benny Booms to sit down even if you automatically qualify.

Okay. Just... Take it over the brodox. Spawns not on. He wasn't on my team.

God, he's not on. Uh... JT's not on. Like, we know what JT's got. We don't need to see JT, it...

But Dina. Right? I feel like it's a fun... It's an inflection... It could be an inflection point one.

And so I, of course, what you're saying is probably right. And that is probably what's going to happen. That that would be like... If I was betting that would... I think you're right.

Like, that probably will be... The team. But if the exercise is just like... What do you want to happen? What do you think should happen?

Even if it's just dumb podcasting and I'm like...

No, I think you should invest in the future.

And I think you should try to... Take a swing and like... I don't know if I was the tournament organizers and you can't... You don't want to make it like a joke of a competition. It's like a preseason game.

But it is a preseason game. It's like... Dude, give the captain a little leash to be like... Hey man, I think it'd be... It'd be the most compelling storyline if it was close at all.

And if it's just... I don't know. I think there's... I think there's... Here's what I'll say.

I'll twist myself in a pretzel saying this. I think there's a compelling case to be made on behalf of the PGA tour... That the tour should be investing in its stars. And the tour should be putting it up like... Ox-Shade.

Ryan Gerard, Coivin. Some of these dudes to like... Brennan, Thorby Ornsin. Some of these guys to actually like get a bigger stage... To try to become bigger names.

And if you want to... I would say that this week. You can be like JT if you don't win one of these next two. You're not on the team. Can't lay.

Do you win to golf tournaments? What's your deal? Can you fucking win one of these things? Can you make an interesting? Otherwise, we're not going to have you...

Based on all your like T4 team finishes. For example size. Yeah. Let's see. Let's give these guys a chance.

You've got chalk at the top. They're still probably going to win. Like... Put... Have an open trial for some of these guys.

Who wants to be a dude for the next 10 years? Go, go, prove it. Can we... Can we not include Ox-Shade in this? Like, Ox-Shade's not been playing well.

He hasn't been a factor in quite some time. He won the Bay Hill in March. Yeah. He's not out playing these guys. You know what I mean?

Yeah. I think Ox-Shade's shown that he's... I don't know. He's somebody that I'd like to... I'm more just curious.

He's... Yeah. He's got going on in this regard. Yeah. Wasn't he on the last president's cup team?

I don't think so. No. That's... That's news to me. No.

Maybe I'll listen. And then the international's... Yeah. See, woo. Foxy.

Lowkey, pretty good golf right now. Min-Woo. My guy, young Tom Kim.

Corey Conner's, who I think they should leave off.

The shot. Adam Scott. Nico Echeveria. He's playing Bay Hill. Jason Day.

Rio. He hits out soon a decade a weekend. Casey Jarvis and Nick Taylor. With Sungjae, Potkeater, and someone named Jaden Shaper. And three... three spots out.

Uh, T.C. I wanted to ride for a guy... Siddar Shon Yellam Raju. He's played fucking bad golf right now. He's falling off. And now we're getting into like...

Bez. It's... it's... it's... T.C. Jarvis. It's... it's... it's bad. Jason Day's hurt.

We don't know what he's... Who knows what's going on with him? No. Uh, which again is... Now I'm circling back to like...

Yeah, put Docskay on the team, man. Let's see what he's got. You know? I don't know. Yeah, yeah.

Otherwise, it's just... Yeah, it's just gonna be... Which, of course, fool me 18 times. But it's just gonna be repeat of the last... Well, yeah.

Fifteen years. That's a big problem with the president's cut.

The problem is, I want...

I do kind of want to get pumped about this one. I think it has a lot going for it.

I think it... I think it could be very fond and very interesting.

And if it's just like... And can't lay wins. His singles match over fucking... Pocketer to clinch it for the U.S.

You know, in a 12-point romp, is like.

Great.

Well, here's the flip side of that.

Did you, I think, would be... When we... Maybe have used a president's cup as a little bit of a proving ground for young-ish Americans. It's like, let's find out about it.

The answer usually is a negative... Not a good sign. Like, what? Let's get saw hit in there. Let's figure... Oh, saw hit that was not...

That did not go well on Canada. And now you're almost like... You cross him off. Like, was he ready for that? You cross him off? And don't ever consider making a president's cup.

But I'm saying, they're not beating down... Their game is not really really good. And they're not beating down the door. And we're just putting them on to test out the young blood. Is that a little bit of an unfair situation?

Like, if... Now, if saw hit has a great writer cup year... Are we like... Ah, you have it. Remember he sucked the president's cup. We don't really want to use him there.

It's kind of like a...

You know, is Michael Brennan ready for this moment?

If it doesn't go great, do we cross him off and move on from there?

Because I don't really necessarily think that would be fair. I don't... I just don't know if... If, you know, they've made it for better for worse. Both sides of the... Both teams make players beat down the door to make it as a captain pick as a rookie.

And if you haven't been on one. Like, it's... The international Europeans in U.S. have all kind of treated that way. Unless you are a star talent. Like, I think the co-even thing has a good chance.

Like, I do not think the U.S. is thick enough at the bottom. And if co-even is a bad place, I don't think he'll make it. But I think if he's around a little bit, there is very strong reason to pick him on the team. And I think they should.

Like, somebody like... Author Bjornsson and Brennan are... We have bigger sample sizes on them that probably put them behind. Somebody like co-even for, you know, fair reasons or not. And I don't think they've beat...

They've had one each out of a great peak week. But I don't think they've done enough to really say, like, I'm going to battle with you. And I'm not going to take JT. I just doesn't...

It's just not really how the system works. Let...

Again, you're making a lot of sense.

And I'm not really arguing with you necessarily. It's kind of just difference of opinion, I guess. But the... It's not even difference of opinion. I know.

I would agree. It's difference of what you want to happen, right? Like, it's...

Yes, so I think you're making a lot of sense.

The counter to that would be... You pick JT. You pick Cantlay. You pick whoever. And like, those guys shit the bed.

And then next year we get to Ryder Cup time again. And those guys are in the same spot because they're going to be. And now you... Now you're just kicking the can on, like, the... The difficult decision.

I feel like, right? Where you're gonna... You're gonna end up in that same... That same spot where it's... You didn't learn anything.

And now everybody's a year older. And those guys don't have any new experience. It's just kind of a... I don't know. It would be a very hard thing and possibly stupid thing to do.

But... I know. That's what I'm pretty sure. I'd also... I'd also argue.

I know. I'd also argue. I don't know really what you learn, right? I mean, like, Sam Burns was great at the 2022... President's Cup.

His record did not show for it because got to suck the ass. But he played really well. And he turned around and... He wasn't... He wasn't...

He owned the Ryder Cup to even room and sucked ass. Like, was whatever we learned about Burns in 2022 to that help in 2023? No, it did. I don't know. It just...

It's not that clean. And there's probably good examples on the opposite side of... You know... A young JT at Melbourne with Tiger and flipping that over and... You know, into his Ryder Cup experience, I don't know.

But... I would use Max as an example, too. Yeah. You know? Somebody who...

Yeah. But that didn't go great for him. And it's 20-24 as well, so it's not clean.

And that's why I think it's likely to go relatively safe.

But it's almost a good thing, though, of how the U.S. team's shaken out. Like, you can't go too safe. Like, you can't... There's no... There's not a reason to go all the way down with...

...with just... ...experience there. Like, there will be plenty... ...gotter upstairs on enough to get a captain's pick as a rookie. That's beaten down the door.

I think of you. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. We got the U.S.A.M. coming up this week.

We do. That Marianne... This should be a really good one. Yeah. I feel like I don't...

I just... Marianne's a blind spot. 100% same boat. I feel exactly the same way. I just haven't done...

I haven't done... Haven't done the work on my end to really... Yeah. Figure it out. It's the kind of thing that, like, I really...

...everybody that I trust. It says it's freaking brilliant. And it's like one of their favorite... ...if not their favorite course in the world. And also, like...

It's almost one of those places that I've almost set aside of, like... ...no, I just want to go experience that for myself or... ...you know, either watching a tournament there in person or playing it. And yeah, it just feels like a very singular, like... ...the routing and the small piece of property and it's on and everything.

So, I might dig in pretty... ...pretty heavily this week because I think this is a great... ...format in which to watch a golf course play out.

I love it.

Match play is going to be excellent, excellent for it.

And not overly... ...you know, 2013 was pretty heavily manipulated by my Davis and the crew.

And probably not the best Marion representation, I think.

But match play, I think they can afford to, you know, kind of let it go a little bit. Our guy Justin Hubert is going to be in the field. My partner on crime and hitting in hitting cups. I know that's going to make some people online very upset. That's fine.

Which I will say to this, that is bullshit for the USAM. USAM, you want to get mad about, I'm kind of down with that. Like, mid-Ams, kind of not... The USAM is like aspiring professional golfers. Yeah.

I, I, USAM is like, you are working a job. And yeah, the former pro thing does bother me a lot at that level.

I would say you do not have the same leverage to get upset about the USAM.

That's my take on that matter. I agree. And a lot of the people said to Hubert, like, hey, go play the USAM. That's what he's doing. Yeah.

You know? Yeah. I'm excited to follow. Can't wait to watch. I forgot he's going to be in the field.

That's awesome.

Any other shoutouts you want to give, TC?

Please to see the corning classic coming back to the LPGA tour. Up in New York. I think that's, that's great.

It's a big win for kind of mid to your mark.

It's this week. You know, that's the theme of the episode. Yeah. There were some cheeky U.S.GA pairings. You know, that the, this was per Christopher Powers.

But, you know, they put, they put Caleb Bond, James Hassel and Colin Bond together. Sure. Johnny Clark, Noah Kent, holy super. The Superman group together. Just, you know, just fun cheeky stuff like that.

What else we got? I, there was a, there was a piece from you and Murray. It was good stuff. In the Guardian, about just this 20 year stretch of confusion.

Mostly on X, the everything app about people thinking that he is you and Murray on.

There's a you and Murray from the Guardian and a you and Murray. Who's a Sky Sports Golf commentator. And they are too different. And you and you and Murray, the Sky Sports Golf commentator former, former professional.

Kind of a circuitous or random route into broadcasting. And he's brilliant, like he's, he's a legend. And so it was, it was partly about the mix up and the number of people that reach out to. You and Murray of the Guardian thinking that he, and then he's kind of, it's taken on its own persona. Go read it.

It's, it's really funny. And it's about their, their relationship that's developed as well. It's, it's a, it's a really cheeky, you know, just light-hearted, like good nature piece. And then just wanted to shout out our good Jake, Jake, Jake Trego for. Hopping on the, the Pat McAfee show and doing a little live live hit there.

That was incredible. So real. Seeing our, our guy, strumming the guitar and singing on the worldwide leader. It was was just awesome. Uh, he is, uh, yeah, he's one of a kind and it was, it was great to see him get some shine.

See him get a good interview with Pat and it was, uh, it was awesome. And it was all kind of in promotion of film that we've got coming out on our YouTube channel on Wednesday. Uh, film called Keep Showing Up, which is Jake's backstory. Kind of our crack at like, uh, it's kind of a music documentary. I mean, there's, it's, it's a story.

It's Jake's story. All, all expertly told by Mac golden, uh, who directed it and edited it. And, and was, and kind of got it off the ground and ran with the whole project. And, yeah, there's, there's songs interspersed. It's kind of, it's cool, man. It's a very unique, uh, very unique thing that was made possible by the nest.

So if you're a nest member and you're wondering where the hell is my money going. Uh, it's going to things like making this. So, uh, very big shout out to everybody involved who who made the film. Uh, and also to all of our nest members for making it possible. Amen to that. Join us.

I'm assuming APM Eastern. Uh, I think so. Wednesday 12. Wednesday 12. Um, we'll be on on on the no laying up YouTube channel. This is different than the no laying up podcast YouTube channel.
