Live from NPR News, I'm Dale Wilman.

Iran's military says it has, once again, closed the straight-of-four moves to all maritime

traffic.

Officials say that's because the U.S. has failed to stop Israel's bombing campaign in

Lebanon, which is a requirement in the preliminary agreement signed by President Trump to end the war. Israeli strike Saturday killed at least 16 people and PR's carry con has more. Iran cited Israel's ongoing killing and displacement in Lebanon as one reason for closing the vital straight, along with Israel's refusal to withdraw from Lebanon, where it is fighting

Iranian-backed Hezbollah militants. Israel says it is defending itself. Hezbollah says Israel is trying to sabotage the fragile preliminary peace pack between the U.S. and Iran, which stipulates that hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon must cease.

The U.S. central command military, however, says the straight is open and says more than 50 ships have passed through on Saturday. Carry con and PR news, Tel Aviv. Ukraine's president, Vladimir Zelensky, says Ukrainian made long-range drones, have struck a Russian oil refining facility in Siberia.

It's Ukraine's latest attack on Russia's oil infrastructure, which is a pillar of the

Russian economy. And PR's tyrannica kisses as our reports. The regional governor of the Southeastern City of Zapoteja says Russian glide bombs hit apartment buildings there, killing and injuring civilians. Meanwhile, in his evening video address, Zelensky said Ukrainian defense tech companies

are quickly modernizing drones to strike even deeper into Russia. He said the latest strikes had a Russian oil refinery in western Siberia that's 2,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border about 1,200 miles. He added that these strikes on Russia's oil infrastructure are a fair response to frequent Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities.

Joannic Hiccuses and PR news, Kyiv. The Justice Department released a memo this week that quietly calls into question, long-standing civil rights protections for Americans with disabilities. PR's Corey Turner has the latest. For decades, the courts and Republican and Democratic administrations alike have agreed

when it comes to serving Americans with disabilities, states have to provide support in home

or in the communities where they live. Institutionalization should be a last resort. But a new Justice Department memo argues there is no integration mandate forcing states to provide these local targeted services. Pushback from the disability community was swift.

Advocates warn the memo could bring a return to what was once common practice, de facto segregation of Americans with disabilities in nursing homes and large institutions. The Justice Department did not respond to an NPR request for comment. Corey Turner and PR news. And your listening to NPR news.

Russia has freed 24 Filipino workers who were held in Siberia for months without charges. Local reports say they may have been victims of illegal job recruitment. Russia says they'll be sent back to Manila. The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat watch for the Grand Canyon. The watch begins midday Monday and will be in place until Tuesday night.

Temperatures with bottom of the canyon are expected to reach or exceed 110 degrees Fahrenheit. The warning follows recent heat related issues, including the deaths of three hikers. Let's light ear and as pals appear headed to infinity and beyond in toying story five and PR's Bob Modello as a details.

As a fifth quail in Pixar's most popular storyline, the new Toy Story movie was always expected

to get kids out of the house. Funny. Screen times over now. OK. This story of Toy's versus tech has already sold 71 million dollars worth of tickets

in North America on its first day including previews. That should set it up for a three-day total near $116 million dollars away. Easily, the biggest opening weekend of 2026 overseas ticket sales have also been brisk. So the worldwide weekend total is expected to top a quarter of a billion dollars. Bob Modello and PR news.

Cody Gakpo and Brian Brawby each scored two goals as Netherlands pounded Sweden 51 and World Cup action and Houston Saturday. It was Sweden's worst World Cup showing since the loss to Brazil in 1950. In Toronto, Denise UNDAF scored twice after coming in as a sub in the second half as Germany defeated Ivory Coast 21.
