"Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Noraram.

Vice President J.D. Vance is meeting today with top Iranian officials in Switzerland

to discuss an end to the war in Iran along the lines of the memorandum of understanding

reached last week. Before the talks, Vance said this is a chance to bring peace to the region." "What we're trying to accomplish here is something very simple, through diplomacy, through working together to transform the Middle East where Iran and the Gulf have been at war with each other or at least have had very unfriendly relations where Iran has been a driver

of regional instability. Now we see a future where everybody can work together to promote peace and prosperity for everyone." The memorandum of understanding did not address many of the items President Trump had set out as a reason, he launched the war. NPR is more a lioness and has more, original goals for the war like unconditional surrender

and regime change. The Wall Street Journal editorial page said quote, "This is a recipe for the surrender of the straight to the dictates of Iranian foreign policy." And not surprisingly, Trump has attacked his critics calling them "stupid and bad people."

NPR is more a lioness and even while his vice president was in Switzerland for the negotiations,

the president issued a threat to Iran. He posted on truth social that Iran must immediately stomp their highly paid proxies from what he called "causing trouble" in Lebanon. If they don't he wrote, "The U.S. will hit Iran hard, like last week, only harder." The United Kingdom's Prime Minister, Keir Stormer, is under pressure to resign, possibly

as early as tomorrow. His approval ratings are at an historic low, and last week the popular mayor of Manchester won a seat in Parliament, with the aim of challenging Stormer for the job. NPR's Lauren Freyer has more. In a parliamentary system, the head of the party with the most seats in the legislature,

in this case the U.K.'s center left Labour Party, gets to be Prime Minister. But with Stormers approval ratings so low, some Labour lawmakers are seeking to replace him, and Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham appears to have the most support. As a Friday, Stormer told reporters, "There is no official leadership challenge yet."

"But if there is a contest, just be clear with you, then yes I will run, I will stand."

Some Labour lawmakers want him to avoid what they call a humiliation, though, and instead step down or set a timetable to do so. Stormer's been huddling at a countryside retreat with his family discussing his political future. Lauren Freyer and PR News London.

Colombia is holding a runoff presidential election today, between the top two vote getters in the first round last month. The choices between a leftist senator who promises to continue the policies of the current president and a right-wing lawyer who vows to lower taxes and to take a tougher approach to violence.

As families celebrate Father's Day today, more young adults are living with their parents

about 25 million last year, according to Realtor.com.

NPR Steven Besaha reports that it's near the all-time high, set during the early days of the pandemic. This is not a case of just get a job so you can move out. 70% of these adults under 35 are employed. Nina Jones is a senior economist with Realtor.com and says this is really about housing

costs. Young adults did move out around 22 when mortgage rates were low. Since 2022, housing costs have remained, you know, extremely high, mortgage rates increase home prices remained quite high. A lot of, you know, that window of opportunity closed for a lot of young adults since

that means that they're staying at home for a longer. Realtor.com reports the median home listing price is up 34% since before the pandemic. Since 2000, about twice as many adults in the early 30s are living with their parents. Steven Besaha and PR news. Today is International Day of Yoga celebrated every June 21st.
