British Prime Minister Kear Starmer says he's resigning.

He announced his decision a short time ago, saying he will remain in the job until his

successor is chosen. The question my party is asking now is whether I am best placed to lead us into the next general election. I have heard the answer of my parliamentary party to that question. And I accept that answer with good grace.

Starmer became Prime Minister less than two years ago after winning election by a landslide. He'd been under pressure to step down for months over his handling of the UK's economy. High-level talks between the U.S. and Iran ended early today in Switzerland. The diplomat said "de-confliction mechanisms for the straight and Lebanon were also discussed. On Sunday morning, Trump said U.S. forces would quote, "hit Iran very hard again, if its proxies keep up the fighting in Lebanon." between Iranian-backed Hezbollah and Israel in southern Lebanon. You guarantee it, NPR News, Washington." Officials at the Grand Canyon are reporting three heat-related deaths within the last week and a half. NPR's Amy Held says Arizona has been experiencing extreme heat.

"And so I can become very, very dangerous and even deadly, really quickly." Park officials advise avoiding these hikers during the hottest time of day at the hottest time of year.

Every year, more than 300 people require rescue at the Grand Canyon.

Out of more than 4 million annual visitors to one of the world's top tourist destinations,

Amy Held and PR News. The extreme heat is expected today in areas of central and southwest Texas, as well as southern New Mexico and areas of Oklahoma. This is NPR News from Washington. Wildfires burning in several western states include Washington and Utah.

For the last few weeks, Hollywood has been startled to see films by YouTube creators topping the box of a church.

With $160 million in ticket sales, Toy Story 5 has easily claimed the biggest opening

weekend of 2026, and if estimates hold for the rest of the top 10, we're going to need backup. Pixar's toys will have led Hollywood to this year's biggest three-day weekend overall. In fact, this year's total revenues are just shy of 2019s at this point. That's the year Avengers Endgame rewrote the record books and the year before the pandemic
