Vice President JD Vance as talks with Iranian officials have set what he called Monday

a good foundation to end the war," following negotiations in Switzerland Vance claimed progress

on multiple fronts, from ensuring the straight-of-forth moves remains open to Iran agreeing to allow UN nuclear inspectors to return to the country. Iran's foreign ministry, however, says Iran has made no new nuclear commitments. To blow a misceed between the U.S. and Iran, it is translating into some relief at the pump.

The price-tracking service gas-buddy says a national average fell 14 cents over last week, $2.3.85 a gallon. Patrick DeHont is gas-buddy's petroleum analyst, he says it may be a "bile" before prices settle further. "It's not going to happen overnight that these oil inventories are going to fill back

up." Not likely, due to that prices could reach pre-war levels, but that may not happen until it's earliest later this year.

Data from gas-buddy shows pump prices have declined in most states.

The federal judge has found that a data tool to Trump administration created to verify voter eligibility by aggregating American's personal information is unlawful. And PRSU Joffee Block reports. Last spring, the Trump administration overhauled an existing Department of Homeland Security data system known as SAVE, linking it to social security data in order to create a citizenship

look-up tool. The Trump administration has promoted SAVE as a way to verify the citizenship of registered voters, but the system has erroneously flagged eligible Americans as potential non-citizens. Now a federal judge has ruled that federal agencies did not have statutory authority to revamp SAVE in this way, that it violated privacy laws, and that the tool in its current

form can no longer be used. The decision was celebrated by voting rights in privacy advocates. The federal government can appeal. Jude Joffee Block and Pira News.

The former mayor of Manchester, England, and he burned a may-soon replace British Prime Minister

Kier Starmer, who announces resignation Monday. Pira Nguyen will be the UK's seventh leader in the decade since the British voted to exit the European Union here, and Pira Zloorn-Fraier. Rome is saved, one lawmaker yelled, who can funnel the high expectations facing Andy Bernom as he was sworn into Parliament.

With the aim of becoming the next Prime Minister, ten years ago Britain's voted for Brexit,

which ultimately shrank their economy and contributed to this revolving door of Prime

Ministers. If the ruling center left Labour Party does choose Bernom, it's a change of personality more than policy he and Starmer share the same party platform. Another contender former UK Health Secretary West Streeting has thrown his support behind Bernom, who could run uncontested and become Prime Minister by late July.

And you're listening to NPR News. The police chief and Canada's second largest city says Monday's shootout in Montreal marked the first time a city police officer has been killed in the line of duty in more than 20 years. The authorities say a civilian also died in another police officer is in stable condition. The chief says police responding to an emergency call at a Hilton Hotel were targeted

with gunfire. He says the suspect was killed in an exchange, police are still trying to determine a motive. High heat and dry windy conditions, feeling several wildfires in the Western US, the Hills behind the University of Utah and Salt Lake City have been smoldering since Saturday, the Bonneville Fire, one of multiple fires burning in the state, as Hugo Ricard Bell

of Member Station KUER reports. Sierra Heldstrom is with the northern Utah incident management team. She says the ready evacuation status for Arlington Hills residents has been lifted. We boxed this thing in as what we're seeing is they made great success with the crews calling in those drops with the return drops, the air support and then crews out on the

ground or what made the difference. The fire started Saturday and has burnt more than 550 acres of land around the Bonneville shoreline behind the University of Utah and the cause is still under investigation. Now extreme drought conditions combined with gusty winds and heat have fire services around the state on standby, one fire in central Utah forced evacuations from the town of Eureka.
