of Representatives lost his primary and Connecticut, Molly Engrum from Member Station W.S.H.U. reports. U.S. representative John Larson has been in the House for nearly 30 years. He lost the Democratic primary to Luke Bronan, the former mayor of Hartford and an Obama administration alum.
Bronan is 30 years younger than Larson and says his win is proof that Democrats are ready for generational change. "I hope this race helps send a message that we as a party have to get better at making change. That we would be a stronger party if we had more renewal if we had more new voices."
Bronan will face Republican physician Amy Chai in November's general election.
The seat in Connecticut's first district, which includes Hartford, has been rated solid
Democrat by the Cook Political Report.

"The man accused of killing the CEO of United Health Care was back in State Court and Manhattan Tuesday for what's expected to be a final hearing for Luigi Mancioni before his murder trial next month." NPR's Bryan Man reports that Judge says that during the case will be anonymous. Mancioni is accused of gunning down insurance executive Bryan Thompson on New York City
Street in 2024. Because of the national debate over health care access and insurance costs, Mancioni has drawn significant support online with fans and supporters showing up at the courthouse for each hearing. During this session, Judd Gregory Carrow said jury selection will begin September 8.
He signaled that jurors' identities will be kept from the press in the public. This comes as Mancioni's defense team has argued for more media access to the trial.
The second trial in federal court is expected to get underway in January.
