And the New York knickerbockers are three games away from winning their first NBA title in

over 50 years and PFT. They may never lose again. Now I'll talk about next season too. They might

just be the best team to ever play playoff basketball. It was a point. It's crazy. And they did get off to a slow start too, but it doesn't matter. Yeah. It was the first half. You're like, oh man, this might be, you know, Jalen Brunson has his knee banged into, which we'll talk about a second. He goes to the locker room. You're like, oh man, they might be not be ready for the moment. They're down at half and 14 in the third. Guess what? And not to do a little brown here, but

the minute the next cut it down going into the fourth quarter, we were actually watching the game. Some of us were watching the game together. I was like, it's Jalen Brunson time. And it was. He wasn't the most efficient. He took 31 shots, but he is a stone cold killer in the fourth quarter. And the spurs had no answer for him. And it was anything he wanted. He got. And it was also the next defense was incredible. The cat was, I mean, that was maybe, I know it wasn't like the

he didn't, I don't think he had a three, but in terms of just like best game overall, maybe best playoff game because he was so good defensively, he was getting tough baskets.

17 with heart on the bench. It's crazy. Heart, like, I've never seen a guy contribute so much to a

game without scoring. That's just what he saw. Josh Hart. That's, that's who he is. He's, he, the ball, like, the ball could be just flying out of bounds. And then here comes Josh Hart. He's going to find a way to get it and get it back and play. He was awesome. Whenby was not as, like, it wasn't good. No, he wasn't. And he was, and it's a problem too because you could see too when he, when he comes off the court, they just started attacking the basket, Luke Kornet, like this happened in

the Thunder Series 2, where it's just, the spurs have to figure out a way to survive Luke Kornet minutes. But whenby was was not what you wanted him to be in terms of like the superstar best player in the world that people are putting on his head. And he's got to be better. He said it after.

He will make his shots and he is just completely unaffected by everything. Even after the game, he was, I don't know what the fans said to him that he was going back and forth with. But like,

Foster and looked pissed off after the game. So maybe the fans did something really bad. But memes, is that that is fair? No, no one thought he should be this. That's fair. maybe, to be fair. There were two moments in the first quarter. Yep. I thought that Jalen Brunson was

dead. And then because that Zach was going to die. Zach, what was going to your head? I,

“I treated during the game. I said we're doing a zoom episode because this was, this was right”

when he left and went to locker room. I thought we would have to do a zoom episode. No way we could be all in person. Well, I want to know what was going through your head Zach and what he was going through your head memes. Because memes, I would imagine you were, it was like put the, put the bomb on and show up to the office. So initially, initially, you see, you see, you get hit the knee and you're like, oh goodness. I hope he's okay. And then it wasn't okay. He hit the tunnel. I was like,

that's really not good for team. This, I mean, he's, he's the captain and by far, the best player in the

court. I would say best player in NBA right now. And then second, right under that, I was like, well,

tomorrow could be the worst day ever. If it comes. Yeah, if tomorrow happens, if lucky enough, if I say that's good points, what if I make it through the evening into the office tomorrow, and he's actually hurt and doesn't come back and then have like an insane fourth quarter. There, yeah, it was going to be about that as you mean, rough day. And memes, what was, what was your reaction when all this happened? My reaction was, I just had flashbacks to Aaron Rodgers

walk back to the locker room. And then I thought to myself, I don't know what kind of sex or blood ritual big hat PFT did before starting the show. That everything just happens for this show. It just didn't make any sense. Like, there's no way we're losing jail and breaths in one quarter into the final. After the 11 controversy, after the 11 controversy, sex or blood, sex or blood, why not both? Why not the cover of the

Metallica album load? Like, everything just comes up PNT. You treated, I don't think I want to do this part of my take thing anymore. I thought OG was going to guard Wimbie and Kat was, I mean, he did a great job. I thought that Kat after the game, when he did the interview with Charles and Chuck and the guys, that was awesome. Yeah, Kat liked that. He was like, he was so calm and like introspective and and like what he was saying, you could tell he meant it and it means the world for him to be playing

and NBA finals. He was talking about how, like, this is a moment he thought about ever since he was a little kid and now he's grown up and it feels just like he thought it would and that he felt his mom's presence there. That was a really cool moment to see Kat like that after such a great performance. And then at one point he was like, you know what, I'm just really proud of the defense of effort that I put out there. Yeah. There's other stuff I have to correct, but I'm proud of

the defense that I played tonight. This is Kat saying all this. Like, Kat has been maligned throughout his career, sometimes for not really trying on defense. He tries to just maybe just fouls and, you know, doesn't move his feet. Yeah, but, but now it's like this is a different Kat and credit to the next coaching staff. Yeah. I told you before this year's I have two man crushes,

He is, uh, he's just every, every time, like fourth quarter, he's just insane. He's, Jalen Brunson's average 8.2 points per game in the fourth quarter and OT and playoffs with the next. ten hundred through thirteen holes there and then you kind of like you know hate one in the water or stop counting score something and say yeah I shot sixty five so that you don't do it but on tour screw that I want to be everybody I mean care about what that stuff yeah I guess that's what I was getting obviously an internment you want to set every course record that you can but like so if you're at cypress you were just saying that you would you would intentionally not get

the course record there if you were playing there for fun yeah I mean that place there's a few places that you would do that but then I mean there's like less than four I can think of outside of that you would just yeah you try to shoot course record is it an iconic place yeah you want to be on the you want to be on the board yeah it goes oh course record shop I wouldn't is that just out of respect for the course or what is it about those four places that you would pull up because

then more just like routines I do the same routine all the time but you know it's nothing like I don't wash my underwear or my socks inside out kind of thing right yeah the routine that's more like good golf and I I saw you talking about your driver and figuring out that element of your game if you're I'm not very good at golf but I do like to play I find myself when I tear off if I hit a bad t-shirt my next t-shirt I mean I try to change what I just did wrong

are you then trying to actively like correct for that on your next shot are you just trying to go

never watched it so get on the first tea and I'm like okay you're turned to hit and like you know it's just lined with fans and she goes oh no I'm not hitting I'm gonna kill somebody and then Gary Woodland and Keegan are like no Emily it's your turn you gotta go hit and she totally bought it she's like I'm not doing this and you know obviously then we told her and he hit on the night poll but it was that it was a fun day but yeah she she was freaking out because she thought she was gonna

one have a hard lunch and then two would be on like not top 10 by killing somebody yeah is it is it uh because we always talk about like different arrows when it comes to sports like I feel like this is the best time to be a golfer golfer's or cool like you know 20 years ago Tiger was cool but the other guys he was playing against weren't necessarily cool but right now

what is it about golf galleries that make them think that they're invincible to golf balls like they stand so close sometimes to where you're gonna hit yeah oh it's it's insane now I will say like in that instance I had a lie that was I don't think the people realized how bad it was I mean the ball went dead left I've never hit a wedge dead left and it was terrifying because I people were seven eight feet for me and it could have taken someone's head off but the craziest thing with

us we don't hit too many shanks and miss miss offline but when we're on the programs people will treat the amateurs we're playing with as if we're tour pros and they'll be like make a tunnel and I go this guy literally yeah the 15 handicap you don't know what he's gonna do but yeah I don't know

they they just think we never miss which is complete fallacy we miss all the time yeah can I

play a little game with you real quick yeah it's called hardest you've hit something so t shot how what's it what's the farthest you've hit one or hardest you've hit one oh but I know this is going um I've hung her actually this year I went like 430 on the 10th hole and in Tampa okay hit a car path but it went 430 yards that was pretty hard okay what about what about a nine iron she's a I don't know like 180 okay so did you know where it's going what about like a locker

I knew where it was going yeah I mean I've hit one pretty hard yeah I don't we have we have

there's respect to the course of I always laugh because like these guys are like insanely competitive

know I I like to think that you know we we care we we do this is our livelihood and I was frustrated

and you know made a dumb decision but at the same time it's like I care and I wanted to do well

and I didn't and you know we're in the limelight and golf you can't show emotion or that's kind of the stigma and so I try to do it behind closed doors and obviously it resulted in a terrible thing

actually the Sunday before fire Nelson golf course is very good very tough yeah I mean it's gonna be like you set a bloodbath in a different way than Oakmont Oakmont was kind of high rough and you know really peanut bunkers and really long this course is maybe not as long but the greens are like crazy epic and you could hit it to 12 feet and you think wow what a shot and guys might three put because there's so much slow yeah it's it's gonna be definitely test people

mentally for sure is is that a sneaky awesome part of being a professional golfer that you can play anywhere like you just have to call and and you can play it are there any places you don't have to name names we want to put on blast but are like sorry we know you're you know a US open champion but we're not gonna let you play yeah I mean definitely one of the best perks of being a pro is you can play essentially anywhere that is yeah for sure the hand written greatest thing

just have you come out and play but then typically if you they when they ask members like oh so and so PJ tour player wants to come out members like yeah I'd love to play with them right so the really isn't a place you we we can't go which is pretty cool that's awesome what uh what are you thinking for this uh US open what does success look like for me it would be a lot of fairways and staying below the whole um at Chinnecock and I tell you what if I if I have a chance

a junior senior and and Christian was actually playing I mean he was the fastest most physical guy in the court whether he was a freshman or senior and you could just tell everyone knew they're like holy smokes that guy's different yeah what about Luke McAfrey were there any stories about Luke growing up like hey this guy might even be better athlete than Christian well Luke was so young like yeah I mean Luke was when I was 16 Luke was nine or eight so we couldn't quite tell but

around with the boys or is that not really something makes sense oh no I mean the greatest thing about golf is the handicapped system so I can go play with my boys that shoot in the 80s but then they get enough strokes where it's really competitive so I play with the boys all the time my

guys at wisp rock I just played with them all leading up to this event Thunder Dan Marley always plays

with us and other pros and it's a blast I mean we set the strokes we go out we play and I don't win every time they they'll beat me sometimes so it's it's a lot of fun that's a great thing about golf what's the worst golfer you've played with in the last like three years would you play with like a 110 guy I mean that's that's tough I'm not gonna name the athlete but I their agent reached out to my agent and was like hey would you want to play a song so I was like sick I actually really like that

“guys a great athlete you know is he into golf and I go I just picked it up and I said I think I'm gonna”

have the bass because it's it's just tough there's a certain level I would say above 100 it can just kind of be tough because you're like always looking for golf balls and I don't know I mean I know they might sound bad but it just we do it so much that you're like do I really want to be looking for balls all that so would you say like when Devon Booker hits you back up in a couple years would you done play with him it wasn't Devon Booker it wasn't Devon Booker it wasn't Devon Booker

like I because it is the hardest game and I'm always curious about guys who reach the highest level

I was almost naive and it was like ignorance is bliss I got through cue school and my first year on corn fairy or it was web at the time got through with like a breeze and then I got to P.J. tour had a pretty good first year and then I had kind of a sophomore slump if you will and it was like holy shit if I go back down like I don't know if I'll ever get back up because you almost don't realize how difficult it is when you just get through it that easily and that was

kind of that moment like I never want to go back down right and you know there's great players that it took them three four or five six years to finally get the card and then when they finally got it they were world beers and I'm like I do not want to go back so that that was kind of my moment um that I you know I didn't want to go back to the to the miners yeah have you ever had the password a chain there you have you had but like the disease I don't want to say no I'm

I've never had the disease I kind of live on the toe and so because of that I don't hit I actually

had a shank today it was pretty funny on the ranch and I laughed and he laughed it off and then he moved on but you've never had like a time where you've shown up and you're just like I just don't have it today I just can't hit a ball solid no I've never had that that's I mean knock on wood hopefully don't ever have it but you're dead in the hips I hope I never have you don't think about that next

I mean honestly I have no idea it started a long time ago with Coach Holder where he just created this atmosphere of hey this is a golf school and they were one of the first schools with their own golf course the best facilities and then it just kept bringing great golfers and now it's I mean it's the school to go to for golf they win championships kind of every five to seven years I kind of went also because of the coach at the time Coach Mike McGraw is one of the best coaches

now I'm Brad and Sarah and so I just think the combination of the history the facilities and then the fact that they're going to do anything they can to win in golf and golf there has been cool

other schools that I go we have a golf team you know and so it was cool there yeah and plus you

“get all the merch with with Pete as a golfer I like how they have Pete playing all the different”

sports at Oklahoma State like they started swing and Pete swing and Pete was the was the first

you know I'm thinking about winning I'm thinking about opening up some great I'm thinking about what if I screw up what if I you know I look at the leader board and I hit about shot like you're are mind to do the same thing what you train is then to come back to the

“present and do your process so the best thing for you is whatever it is at any level come up with”

the process that helps you hit good golf shots so like for me I make sure I go through get the yards correct I'm a hundred percent committed to the club whether it's the right club or not and then I have an intermediate target that I aim to and then I just focus on that and try to start it over that target and then you look up and you're like oh lots still really good and you do the same thing with the plot and you might make five birdies in row but you don't
