This is exactly right.
Hey, it's Alec Baldwin.
“This season on my podcast, here's the thing I talked to composer Mark Shaman.”
It's about the hang. It's the pleasure of hanging out with the people that you're with.
You know, Robin Eye was always a great hang.
And journalist Chris Wippel. Every White House staffer, they work in a bubble called the West Wing. And it's exponentially more so in the Trump White House. Listen to the new season. Up here's the thing on the iHeart Radio app or wherever you get your podcasts.

With your host, me, jihadis, Daisy Kent, and Jennifer Fessler. The reality of Greek life has been a mystery for those outside the sorority circles until now.
“Is it really a supportive sisterhood that's simply misunderstood?”
Or is there something more scandalous happening on campuses across the country? Let's get dirty. Listen to dirty rush on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Of the law and order franchises,
SVU is considered especially watchable. We are the amateur detectives who kind of investigate the vicious felonies, these episodes are based on these are our stories. Done done done. [music]
Yay, that's messed up in SVU podcast. I'm Lisa Trager. And I'm Kara Clank. Every week, it's SVU recaps true crime breakdowns and chats with guests sometimes. Sometimes not.
Well, one of our guests did cancel on us three times. We would have had a guest. Everyone put your guests' guesses on Instagram who you think cancelled on us three times. And we were going to have that because. So watch the episode, listen to our recap,
and then guess who should have been our guest, but wasn't. Yeah, because if you're wondering why we had to switch, because we thought that this episode was going to be last time, because the people have commented,
we switched it to accommodate someone who then cancelled on us for the third time.
So that's it. You are now dead to that's messed up podcast and to the Tommy Nation at law. And you better make sure I don't see you in the streets. [laughter] Because I will flip out.
Okay, I have to tell you what I saw yesterday. What? I'm walking at Tom Kin's Square Park and joining my day. I see a falcon. I can't believe it.
I don't really, you know, so I'm looking. It's on the tree. I'm staring at this falcon. I feel lucky. The falcon photos.
I'm with the falcon. The falcon flies down to the ground. I got it's flying. Flies back up, holding a rat. The rats wiggling.
The falcon falcon. I saw it hunt. I am the discovery channel camera. And then I saw it fly to a different tree and get up with its rat.
I'll basically murder and eat it.
But two girls on a bench also saw it. We connected. But I got to see nature. Wow. The circle of life in New York City.
Look at it. Yeah.
“And I found it as Simpson's joke, honestly.”
Like, wow. Beautiful. You know, yeah. But kind of incredible. Kind of incredible.
Wow. I can't believe you witnessed a falcon in Manhattan hunting for street rat. That's really. A quite an awesome one. And in my night at the view, doing a set.
I walk on stage. These guys, so they're right. I mean, are so fucking hot. I can't even. The way they're sitting.
They're just like hottest fuck. One has neck tattoos. The cops fucking cops. I couldn't believe it. Whoa.
One said he's narcotics undercover. I brought up Jessica Tish. I mean, we had some fun. They were. I did some joke.
I talked about rikers. I definitely talked about domestic violence. You know, I got my moments in. But they were like so hot. And then one had to wear uniforms.
And I kind of was like, you're disgusting. Because other things are playing close. Oh, yeah. They were okay. I mean, if someone's like, I couldn't even look at them.
They were so hot. Because I liked them.
[laughs]
That's fun. Yeah. I think that's funny.
“You were able to have a little flirtatious set with some.”
With some cops. I know. I hope they were lying. I really hope they were lying. But, you know, I brought up a not being able to afford bonds.
And what's what's he up to? I mean, the bail system's not really in the hands of the cops. But yeah. But if he's doing these arrest and setting these people. The rikers who are being held.
Yeah. They can't pay the adults. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you could also have just fully told them.
You think the war on drugs is kind of bullshit. I mean, if you, if they weren't hot, it would have been way easier. Yeah. Like truly blushing. Like I couldn't even handle what was happening.
I was like, I'm also reading the heated rivalry books.
I already finished the long game, which is the second one.
And I liked it so much that I went and bought the heated rivalry books. And I'm making that. This book, this show has you off your phone. It has you reading books. It has you exercising.
I mean, it truly life-changing. Not that you weren't exercising before, but you know what I mean. I was reading on the flight in my, in my room. I was reading with a flashlight on my way from the airport. To my friends house, watch the Super Bowl and on the way home.
Like I was reading off on my like phone flashlight. I was reading this book. What did you think about the Super Bowl? So I only watched the first half I got to ask. I mean, the boring game.
The game was boring. I don't care. I don't care. Love that bunny. My favorite part was the kid sleeping on the out like the three chairs.
And getting woken up. I feel like that's so just like immigrant like family party. And I loved it. I love that all the blades of grass for people. Yeah.
I loved the grass. The grass is my favorite part of the grass. Yeah.
I also was really impressed with like the camera in terms of like there was a moment where he like looked to the left in between blades of grass and the camera was right there.
“And I saw a post that was like, well, who was the stage manager?”
She's like, I've counted 145 cues in like 10 seconds. Yeah. It all felt like it was really for the people at home. Like I wonder what it looked like to the people that were there. Yeah.
Because I liked it. But I was like to, I would like the theater to that. I love the local businesses. I loved his outfit. I love the guys grinding outside the truck.
That was fun. I'm hot. I was like, yeah. We shrieked my friend called gasoline. So we shrieked my friend called Lady Gaga.
We shrieked and then Ricky Martin a blessing. I screamed at. I will say, I'm a Lady Gaga fan, but I didn't really care. But when I saw Ricky Martin, I yelled. I don't know if I'm aging myself.
I screamed when I saw Ricky Martin. I was excited. It was beautiful. And he's, and you know, that, but he's a little monster.
Like he's a Gaga fanat. Yeah. Yeah. No, I know. I know.
It all makes sense. I don't know. It was like fun. I loved the songs. We were all cheering and loved it.
And then I went home immediately after to go read my books. I thought it was awesome. I think it's hilarious that like. Jill's there and is like getting this e reboot canceled like single handedly by her super reaction to the super bowl.
Like all of these little snowflakey. Why are you mad? Wait, wait, wait, wait. I can't listen to 20 minutes of Spanish without completely losing the plot and freaking out. I got fuck.
Fuck all these motherfuckers. Fuck everybody. I love him. He's so hot. He's America.
He's the world. He's like, he's the world's hotty. Yeah. Sweet. I'm a hotty star.
Yeah. He would be right off the Grammys. Like he's sincere. He's cute. Giving his little kid self.
A fucking Grammy. I liked him on SNL. I love his little. His sketch is on SNL. Wait, was that it?
Is that my whole life just heated right? Oh, I went. Oh, I went to a baby shower. It was fun. I had to.
Oh, this has happened a few times of like. Oh, do you feel safe in New York City? And I'm like, well, I know who you voted for. And it's like, yeah, I feel safe in New York City. You dumb bitch.
Yeah. I never. We hear this. And it's like, okay. Okay.
You're disgusting. I feel fine in my city. Thank you very much. So annoying. God.
Yeah. People used to ask me that all the time. It'd be like, what do you mean in what way?
Like, I just never ever felt unsafe when I lived in New York.
I never did. We're the other robots. I've definitely been attacked here. But I've been attacked everywhere. Yeah.
You can get attacked anywhere. Please get attacked in the woods. That's why we want the bear.
“Honestly, if you want to hear a real life scary story.”
From one of our guests. You can listen to our Patreon. Oh, yes. Yes. Everybody.
What do you think someone's most horrific moment? Or they thought they were going to be attacked, but. Yes. Calling all of that. And also our next episode of the Patreon.
We're going to be sort of a, like, the style of the doll up a podcast. We're ruined. Where I watch the cult of the real housewife documentary and recaptured for
Lisa.
So you get 100% Lisa reactions and then some facts as well. So that'll be fun. So join our Patreon. It's patreon.com/that's messed up. And we're having some fun over there.
“And you can let us know what else you want us to do.”
I last weekend through Rosie's Cubscouts. We went on a tour of so-fi.
And I had never been to so-fi before.
Casey's nodding. He looks impressed. I'd never been there before. Because I slept on Beyonce when she was in town. And I should have fucking gone.
Cause in the end, a lot of the tickets were really cheap. But from people reselling. But it's crazy that place. Like they built that place in four years. It's so massive.
It could survive a size 10 hurricane. Earthquake. It could serve like it would still be standing in a size 10. I mean, all of the freeways around it would have crumbled. But it would be standing.
And then they let the kids down on the, on to the grass. And we were like, I was trying to shoot a field goal with football. And the kids were like running around throwing soccer ball. Kick it soccer balls. It was great.
Just a fun little day. It's so-fi. Oh my god. That's cool. Did you go behind?
Did you get any consensus? Yeah, they let the kids run out. To music.
“Like the team does like come out of the tunnel.”
We went to there. We went to there. Lock a room and stuff. I don't know who any of the Rams are. Like, I don't know.
I was like, oh, so a lot of people are saying like football. It's like rigged and rigged. And they need certain things. But it's like there were no stars on these teams. It was boring.
Like, I don't understand. I don't know any of these people. I don't know who really any football players are. Unless they're so massive that it's like a Tom Brady or like. I don't know.
I don't even know. Can I name another one? Like, I don't know. He's so retired. So that's funny.
Yeah. That's just me not really being. Oh, are you watching any Olympics? I watch some stuff with my parents. I'm mostly into the memes.
I mean, the memes are so funny. Where it's like. Everything is like, hey, jump into the air off this mat under. Here's a knife on your feet. See how fast you can go.
Yeah. Like these memes. Where it's like all these events seem like they started as a dare. And it's just someone on skis with a gun. It's like such crazy sports.
So crazy. Or like, did you see the meme of? It's like all the guys that are, it's like a row of men with leaf blowers. And they're just blowing off the track of one of the events. So as soon as this guy speeds by, all these guys with leaf blowers just start
blowing it all, like, because any little bit of amount of like frosty flakes that he made with his skates had to be taken away. And the meme was like, this is me trying to sleep in on a Saturday in New York or what up my neighbor or whatever. But I mean, I Rosie's been into it. She's been asking, can we watch the Olympics? So yesterday we were watching some like half pipe or whatever.
But you know what's crazy is we are seeing sports now from such a because of drones.
Like we're, we've never before have I have you been like right behind a skier or like right in front of them while they're doing their trick.
Like you're just seeing you see so much now because of all the drone footage. But you also hear the, this is of the drone. But also fuck the Serena Bonnelli, a racer. Like everyone's about Ilya's back flip. Yeah, that's what we were all talking about.
Yeah, it's all about her. She meant everything to me as a kid and fuck the world and fuck racism. Hi, it's Alec Baldwin. This season on my podcast, here's the thing I'm speaking with more artists, policymakers and performers that compose a Mark Shaman. Once you've established that you have the talent, it's about the hang.
It's the pleasure of hanging out with the people that you're with. Robin, I was always a great hang. We would sit in kibits for hours and then eventually get around to the music.
“That's what I mostly think of when I think of him, the time together laughing.”
Lawyer, Robbie Kaplan. The great gift of being a lawyer is the ability to actually change things in our society in a way that very few people can. And you can really make a difference to causes and I say to if you bring the right case at the right time in the range. Yeah, when there's the perfect example. And journalist Chris Whipple.
Every White House staffer, they work in a bubble called the West Wing. And it's exponentially more so in the Trump White House. Listen to the new season.
Of here's the thing on the iHeart Radio app or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hello, it's me, Anna Sinfield, from the girlfriends. The number one hit true crime show that puts women right in the center of their own stories. I'm back with more one of interviews with some truly kick ass women on the girlfriend's spotlight. I want to introduce you to Sylvia. I'm going to climb it.
And then there's Versaqa. Let's see how we can stop killing and see if lives. Layler, dare to ask the question.
His badness hereditary.
And finally, will meet Rosamund. If it wasn't for the air, where Ella lived, she wouldn't have died on that fatal night. You'll even get to meet my mom in that one,
who I can always count on to keep my feet on the ground.
I'm not too intimidated by her. What are you talking about? Listen to the girlfriend's spotlights on the iHeart Radio app. Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome to Dirty Rush.
The truth about Sir Arty Life. The good, the bad, and the sisterhood. With your host, me, J. A. Judy, Daisy Kent, and Jennifer Kessler. Brush, the recruitment, the ritual,
the reality of Greek life has been a mystery for those outside the sorority circles until now.
“Is it really a supportive sisterhood that's simply misunderstood?”
Or is there something more scandalous happening on campuses across the country? In this podcast, we pledge to peel back the layers and spell out the truth one Greek letter at a time. Pludges and actives, rush chairs, and ritual keepers.
Some call it the best time of their life. While others say it's a nightmare. From a perfect rush to recruitment scandals, what is really going on behind the doors of those sorority houses from Alpha to Omega?
We're taking you inside Sir Arty Row, including the chapter room.
As we explore the fellowship in the front of me, let's get dirty. Listen to Dirty Rush on the iHeart Radio app. Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. We were talking about it at Super Bowl, and because there was a man there, two men that were like,
"Oh, I don't really know who that is." And I was like, "Oh, see, I feel like most women have like a baseline knowledge of figures gaining." Or like Olympic figures gaining. Like, I know Siria Bonnelly did the back flip.
Like, I know who a lot of the major... Yeah. And that was it. Going to date competitions or watching skating any other day of the year.
But if you ask me to name like 10 top skaters, I could name them. But they were all before 2005. Yeah, for sure. I don't know them now.
No. But like, when you're a kid, I don't know skating in the Olympics. But Siria Bonnelly, like,
“I have recently looked up her back flip.”
Like, before this year's Olympics. Like, she was the... The girl. She's the girl. And she fucking defied the laws.
Because that's what someone said. It's like, you kick her out. You fuck her over. Then you make it a rule. You can do it.
And then you credit this guy for doing it first. Like, oh, fuck her. Yeah. Siria Bonnelly, a racer. Not on my watch.
No. There are some speeds. I mean, I'm fine with it. I'm probably not going to catch more. You know, I'm doing something else right now with my time.
So, see. Well, what's interesting is, like, whenever we... I don't know if it's interesting. But whenever we try to, Rosie wants to watch the Olympics, like right before bed.
Like seven o'clock LA time when we turn it on. It's just curling.
And I'm always like, look at how crazy this is.
Rosie, look. Look, this is a sport. Like, it's curling is fucking on hit. Who came up with that? Drugs.
Bachi on ice.
“But you're allowed to basically mow the grass while you do it.”
I don't know. Yeah, my dad tried to make me explain it to him. I go, that's not part of this. Oh, that's another meme that I was like, oh, I don't understand. Bad Bunny.
I don't know if I could enjoy it. I've been watching curling for six hours. Who cares? I don't know. I just like, people are just such losers.
And, um, yeah, it's like less fun over there. Like, you know what I mean? Yeah, the people that like bed Bunny are having more fun. I just think you're kind of insane if you couldn't enjoy that performance. Like, it was, I don't understand what he's saying.
I don't care. The beats are great. The energy is like off the charts. Everyone's so filled with joy. I'm confused.
Why? I mean, those guys grinding. We can watch that forever. I totally caught that. I was like, I saw those guys screaming.
We were screaming a lot. And all the gasoline stuff, where it's like, that's a mole. That mole. We know the whites will know that one. Love gasoline.
Definitely new gasoline. 100%. It was like a fucking thrill, dude. Yeah. We're so exciting.
Um, but like. Well, I went and did my friend's radio show today and she made me a heated rivalry bracelet. Ooh. And it's in Russian. And it says, yeah, it's a BMW.
Wait. What? How did she know how to do it in Russian? Well, it's English letters. It's just like, phonetically with the Russian version of what he says.
It's like, I love you. I didn't catch that. I didn't catch when he said I love you in Russian. Like, what the words are. Oh, he did it so much.
That's actually one of the questions I would want to ask. Like Hudson is the actors. Because he's like a smart guy. Like, I wonder if he already knew that Ali had said it in Russian before. Once I've been turning a lot of people on to it.
Like, I have a couple of friends who were like, oh, I haven't really watched ...
And I'm like, I don't think it's what you think it is. And they're like, really?
“I'm like, yeah, it's not what you think it is.”
You need to watch it. You're going to love it. And then my friend text me goes, I've watched all episodes in one day. I'm obsessed. Like I have gotten zero work done.
So, you know, they're helping. They're helping. Well, if you saw I did frantic drunk notes last night for prep because all day I spent reading a book. Well, wait. So the book or the books going to tell you kind of what's going to happen on the next season.
Yeah, but the memes already did that for me. And like, I've been reading excerpts online because I'm into it. So I like knowing what's going to happen. I loved reading it. And I can't wait for the third book.
And I can't wait for the second season.
And reading the first book, like this heated rivalry book, it's like so incredible.
Like it's lined for line identical in wildways. And then the things that he added or like put together. So cool how he put certain scenes and got the vibes. Like really kind of they write the Russian in the book. Did they write it?
No, he said like he says it in Russian. Okay. Like it will be like, and then Ilya said in Russian. Or they start speaking, like it's not okay. Yeah.
“And that's just, but I haven't gotten in the book to the Russian model.”
Like to certain stuff. So it could be, but like, no, it just, yeah, it's an English book. Yeah. But yeah, reading is kind of fun. Who knew?
Who knew? Okay. Let's get going, right? Let's sort of great time at my friends. Baby showers just one damn bitch.
Ask me if New York feels safe.
Just like see through those people and I have no patience for it.
Yeah. Who has time for that? Oh, and I'm on the road guys. Aspen, Kansas City, Chicago, Vegas, Salt Lake. A Los Angeles, and other stuff.
There must be more. I can't remember. You're asking. Yeah. But just like hit the links.
I have a new website. Is it up? The new website? The new website is up. Oh, I can't wait to check it out.
All right. Let's see Lisa, go to Glitter Cheese. But you know what, buying a book? Okay. Buying the hockey books is I felt like a dirty old man buying penthouse.
Like, I felt like I needed to wear a trench coat and dark sunglasses. I felt so like, and they're probably like off this dump bitch. It doesn't read a book in a decade. And they know it. They know.
They get down. All right. Let's get started with today's episode. All right. We'll be doing.
Let me bring my pardon season 26. 16. What? Bring pardon. Can I bring my pardon over?
Is it okay? I'm bringing it. But you're actually like, this makes more sense. Let me bring pardon. That also doesn't make sense.
It's from prayer or something. She says it at the beginning. It's like a prayer thing. It's just funny that you're like, let me bring my pardon. What happened?
Nothing from the Bible truly makes a lot of grammatical sense in this situation. Yeah. When it's episode title, but yeah. Listen. And it's a part two.
So, you know, we recently, or how recent do we do? Yeah. Yeah. The episode 267 was roar shack, which is like kind of the first part of this once.
“If you want to go back and listen to that one and then listen to this one.”
Side by side, we did it like four episodes ago. And it's about Gabby Petito. So it's basically these like travel. I want to be vloggers. The man, you know, does bad things.
He's in prison and the girls in a coma and the mom loves the Lord. Yeah. Am I missing anything? No. And the mom, we interviewed on the pod.
And Williamson, she has like moved to New York.
We've just never moved the girl back to where she's from.
And so we're just still in New York. I bet they can't move her. Yeah. Probably not. All right.
Well, let's do this. March 20th, 2025. So this starts with Benson. She's at her mother's grave. So there'll be a lot of personal connection here.
There's still snow on the ground. She's been thinking about her mom, especially in therapy. She laughs. And she says that she's been working really hard towards forgiveness. So still does not forgive her mom.
Kind of wild. It's been a long time. Yeah. She died in what season two. Yeah.
I think so. Season two or three. And she. The infamous slap. The slap.
The slap heard around the DVD extras. But also she. She visited her grave in the episode hammered.
Oh, yeah.
Which we do at live shows because it's really has a lot of hilarious parts to it. And she visited her then. And then this might be like the only other time we've really seen her.
It's the first time the show was showing her visitor mom's grave in 16 years, almost 16 years.
So. No.
“And I think she's really mad at her mom for just having a very traumatic childhood due to her alcohol.”
No. I feel bad for trying to rush her to forgive. She should work on it. It's okay. I'm glad she's visiting the grave.
It looks like it's well taken care of. And now we're in a chapel. And it's the raw shack mom. And she's praying about forgiveness as well. And then there's a woman in another jacket next to her.
And so this is like Jima Williamson, like Kara said, Ellie's mom. Ellie is the girl in a coma. And her name is Laura Hughes. And so, and Laura is thinking this woman. She's like, thank you so much.
And the woman's like, yeah, shocked by the invite. And she goes, I forgive you. And the woman goes, well, how about Chris? And it's Chris's mom. And Chris is the person who put this woman in a coma raped her before her death.
And then tried to act like he was a victim of a crime. And the mom tried to hide him. Yeah. Yeah. And so, it's Chris's mom and Ellie's mom is like, well, we have a lot to talk about.
Like, she obviously is not forgiven, Chris yet, but they have a lot to chat about. So I wonder what it is. And Chris's mom goes, well, what do we do? And she goes, whatever happens, we're in this together. And the white trash mom can't believe what's happening because it's not her vibe.
Like, she's never forgiven a person in her fucking life.
She jumps at the moment to, like, ask if someone's disrespecting her. And she asks how Ellie is doing and it cuts to footage from their road trip and journey to, like, on this vlogging journey. And it zooms out and the footage is being played on a phone. I don't know why I said phone like that.
Phone. And it's being held by the phones being held by the other mom. And she's like, are you sure this is a good idea? And Jima, a gay lawyer who's Ellie's mom's like, oh, yes. You know, like, she squeezed my hand.
She wants this and makes her, you know. And the mom, the boy mom is like, see you and Chris really did love each other. And it's like, your son raped her was abusive to her during relationship and then put her in a coma. Yeah. Like, what are you doing?
You dumb kind. I hate it. And I hate that Laura is forgiving her religion as a disease. So you're mom. And then she goes to the a coma girl and goes, well,
your mom's forgiven him. So you should too. Like, fuck you. I'm anti-forgiveness. We cut to the precinct.
Benson walks in. She's like, damn it's quiet. But it's curry, Finn and Silva. And they were just chatting about Carisi's trial. And this, if you can remember from last season or this season 26,
it's like a deli standoff. There was a rape that happened. His favorite, like, corner store guy gets shot. He asked to lie. Get out.
There's a court case. It's a really intense episode. Yeah. He's being held hostage and has to basically be outside of a place where a woman is getting assaulted. He can't do anything about it.
And Rollins is in the streets, you know. In her room. Yes. She can't really do anything about it. So he was part of a nightmare.
Okay. And Benson gets call, call mid-chat, they're all chatting. And it's Ellie Hughes, doctor. Not Ellie Hughes. She's not woken up from a coma.
It's Ellie Hughes, doctor. She goes, there's been a complication. So Benson rushes over. And it's a woman in a cart again. And she's very delicate about what's happening.
“It goes, maybe you should hear it from the mother first.”
So Benson knocks joins Ellie in the mother. And the mom's chipper is a fuck. And she was nice to see you. There's hugs. Olivia's like, wow, Ellie's nails are done.
She goes, yeah, I'm going to take some photos for Instagram. And Benson's like, come again. And she goes, yeah, she has more followers than ever. So she, you know, she's the mom's healing in her own way. And then the mom goes, I've actually.
It's really, well, first of all, it's interesting that like Ellie is at a rehab center, right? And she doesn't have all of the tubes anymore. So she is breathing on her own. She's just in a coma, right? She does, she's not tied up to tubes anymore in this episode.
She's just for aesthetics. Why am I best not care. Yeah, you're right. There's no tubes. There's no tubes.
Yeah. So she can't breathe. So she's not on events like that. She can breathe on her own.
“But I think there's like no brain activity besides that.”
Yeah. Damn. Okay.
So the mom goes, I've never been happier.
Which, of course, we're, we're a little confused. That's the weird thing to say. Yeah. Because you know, you have just gone through some tragedy.
Benson needs to know what this changes or why she's been brought in.
And she goes, I'm going to be a grandmother. Benson's stunts.
And this isn't our first rodeo in terms of a coma patient being raped and pregnant.
In the SVU universe, she, she's part of a long line of combatose people who have been assaulted. Episode, the episode is called "Waste" from season four. That's the Terry Shival one. No.
“Or is that the one with the guy with Parkinson's doing the experiments?”
And it's a visit from a co, for a coma patient reveals that she's seven weeks pregnant. I was looking at the, like synopsis for this. And I was like, I know I know it, but I can't remember any of like the actors that are in it really. It's like the guy that looks like he's the bad guy from Beethoven. I don't know.
I don't know. This guy looks like, I'll move on. I'll move on. Yes. I'm just saying this sucks.
You don't want this. You don't want this happen. Like the movie Kill Bill. You just, you know, you want coma people to be left alone. Okay.
So anyways. Benson again stunts.
She goes, well, how long in the mom goes, who cares?
It's a miracle. And Benson goes, okay. And she meets the card again woman again. And so, you know, two normal people could talk about it. And so, it's like the dad could be Chris Becker.
But the cardigan woman goes, I can't know that for sure. The baby's 16 to 18 weeks. So Ellie could have gotten pregnant after she got to the trauma unit, which sucks. You know, like we've been talking about. She's in a coma.
So we need a DNA test. Because if it's not Chris Becker's baby, then we're looking for a rapist credits. We're at the precinct. There's a way. I also would have assumed that like she would have been tested for pregnancy at some point when she came in.
No.
“Don't they like test for that when you first get brought in to a hospital?”
Honey, I don't know. I could have assumed they would have tested that. And then like, nope. I thought it was rhetorical. Then you asked me again.
I don't know. I don't know. I mean, it is. It's rhetorical. But like, it's for the people that know that are going to write us a DM.
Like, I would have assumed that at some point in her, like, them checking to see if her brainstem functioning is working and all this stuff. They would have been like, let's just do a quick test for pregnancy. Yeah. Maybe it worked out.
Yeah. It happened at the center towards the end. And then it didn't show up yet to the movement to this. I mean, who fucking knows? But it is really wild.
The mom going, well, whatever does that make? Like, it's like, don't. She knows this is shady. The mom deep down. I think deep down.
“I think she's like, I don't even want to think about how this happened.”
Mom is delusion. She's so hot out of this planet. It's like, that's the number one question everybody asked when you say you're pregnant. He's forgiving this white trash woman. Like, it's like nuts.
It's nuts. Yeah. All right, pensons in the center of this walk and talk. We have curry and fin on either side of her. So what are we going to do?
You know, it's either the boyfriend who tried to kill her or someone who raped her in the trauma unit. And then we get a drum roll, the biggest moment ever. Fin says that's messed up. Is this a message to us?
I say us. So we swab everyone at the trauma unit. Question mark, question mark. Everyone who visited question mark. Yeah, of course.
And we need to get the fetal DNA. But of course, the mom does not fucking want that. And the state can't come pal. And fin goes, well, maybe we can, you know, petition the dad to do it. And for the dad to go ask the court.
And Benson goes, well, yeah, but there's a dial inside. Like, we hate this motherfucker. We don't really want to involve. He's a violent fucking animal. But also, we need to exclude him because then we have to chase down a rapist.
And fin is like, I know, fuck Chris Becker. But it might be the quickest option of Laura doesn't budge on doing a fetal DNA test. So now, fin and Benson are going to go to green haven. And see what, you know, this motherfucker can give up.
Benson gives curry directions to tell Sylva and Bruno to get a log of every single person who visited her in the trauma unit. So we're in the green haven present in Chris and boy, mom are there being like, wait. Such it, it's a chance it isn't mine.
And he starts spiraling. And it's like, yeah, and the mom goes, well, of course it's your baby. And Benson goes, well, no, there's a thing called rape. It's actually what your son did also. The boy, mom says it's a lot of crap.
And Laura never leaves Ellie's side.
And Benson goes, oh, your friends now. And she goes, yeah, she called me the moment. She found out Ellie was pregnant. And Chris goes, wait, how long? They say 16 to 18 weeks again.
And he goes, that's the end of the road trip. And the mom goes shut up. Let me, she doesn't. It's like a calm shit. But she tells him to stop talking.
And the, like, let the lawyer figure it out. So the lawyer has circle glasses that look like they should be on a cartoon mouse. And then Laura is the legal bargain. And so why, you know, why won't she agree to this test or whatever? And Benson goes, well, yeah, we need your help.
Like, if you apply for the fetal DNA. And the lawyer goes, well, well, maybe within a range man.
The second's Benson.
And he says, you get that judge that frame me. So he takes no responsibility. He thinks he's been framed by a judge.
“And he wants a reconsidering of the sentence and wants early parole.”
Go fuck yourself. Benson's gross. That's crazy. Because it's like, if you really think you're innocent and a judge framed you, then you want your conviction.
You want a new trial, right? Or you want like early parole. It's like, you know, you did this, you know? He knows he fuck. Oh, what a list guy sucks.
Yeah, he's a manipulative gross person. And Benson's gross style. But she goes, oh, I'll talk to a judge. And then it's a Benson Finn walk and talk. And Finn's like, we're going to let him believe that.
And she goes, I'm give a fuck what he believes. Like, whatever we need to do to get justice for Ellie and her baby. And so Benson was not, is not giving him anything. They're, they're using him. Finn goes, oh, okay, okay.
But I also got why this is striking and nerve with you. And she's offended.
It's like, this isn't her first rodeo.
Also of like rate victims that getting pregnant. You know what I mean? It's like, yeah. It's going to happen a lot. So he goes, do I need to spell it out for you?
Because she just want to talk about it. But in her highlights are glowing under this terrible lighting.
“So then Finn goes, do you want me to just go knock some sense into him?”
And she goes, no, but go get the car, okay? And she goes to talk to Mrs. Becker. And she's in the same brown leather jacket. And she's in silver hoops. And we know hoop earrings equal.
You're a bad girl in S.B. And Benson. And if they're silver, you're fucking, yeah. Oh, trash. So Benson's about to be a manipulation hotty.
So the mom is being like shut down. Like right away, like what do you want? Go fuck yourself. It's in under your business. You're a dumb bitch.
But then, you know, Benson's kind of being like, Oh, so you're going to co-grandparent. Interesting. You know, I don't know if you've thought about this. But Laura's unemployed.
She quit her job. She lives off her deceased husband's pension, which is a fixed income. So the mom's trying to like walk away from her. And Benson's not really letting her do that.
And she goes, well, you work part time, right? And in New York, child support 17% of custodial parent gross income. And your son's in prison for 25 years. So who's going to pay that 17%? And, you know, it's going to be her.
And so we know the baby's alleys. But, you know, we don't really know if it's Chris's.
“And are you willing to spend that much money on a child?”
That's not even your blood. I mean, Benson is cold blooded. I like, well, I love it. This is my favorite. And Benson walks out of the prison as Finn is waiting for her by the car.
And Benson says never underestimate the power of cash
to affect a person's morality. And Benson's like, okay, well, that's that. Now I have to go talk to Laura. So engine revs. And now we have Curry Silva and Bruno working together.
Ellie had half a dozen visitors during her one month stay. And they've all cooperated and given DNA. And then Curry goes, okay, now let's do all the staff. Finn walks in, all the youngins are working. And he says, Benson's taking this a little personal.
And he says that the captain is going the extra mile for reasons that are none of anyone's business. And he's just like, he's just nice protecting his friend. But, you know, Benson's going through it. Laura's on her knees now praying at her daughter's hospital bed.
And she gets up to greet Benson who's there as a courtesy. And basically she lets her know that Chris Becker did ask the court for a feudal DNA sample. She's stunned. And Virginia didn't mention anything to Laura.
And Benson goes, yeah, I think she's a little more pragmatic than you think. And she's like, before she commits to co-parenting. Like, she wants to make sure it's her grandchild. And Laura's fostered his fuck. Like, who else can it be?
I was here the whole time. And Benson goes, listen, you've showered. You slapped you eight. Like it's okay. And she, you know, of course, takes all that information as a blame.
And Benson cares. She goes, no, no. She's trying to call him around. So they sit on a couch together. And she explains somebody could have taken advantage of her
because she's completely vulnerable. And he might still be out there. And we need DNA tests. She scared because her family is already pressuring her to terminate the pregnancy. Because, like, if the dad's crest, like, go fuck him.
And now if it's like, if this, like, other strange rapists, not a familial rapist. Like, they're for sure going to be pro. You know, and she wants this baby. She's been praying for a future for Ellie.
Ellie lost her future. She wants Ellie to have a future. She's been praying for months. And this baby is a miracle to her. And she believes it.
And miracles don't always happen how we want them.
So listen, it is what it is. So she goes, please don't take my miracle away. She puts her hand at Ellie's stomach. Benson's here's up. She's thinking, but we're in court.
And Benson's in the audience. She's watching. It's the Becker's first Laura. And so basically, DNA fetal tests. Yes or no.
Laura's attorney says, they don't want finances from the Becker. So it doesn't fucking matter. And the lawyer goes, well, it's not just financials. The best interest of the baby. Like to have a full medical history, figure stuff out.
Laura's screams. My daughter's been through enough. Like she gets prodded and surgeries into it. Like she doesn't need this. And Benson helps calm her down.
And the judge is really nice and understanding. But reminds her to shut the fuck up.
The lawyer has to speak on her behalf.
But again, the child's best interest has to take precedence.
And all of this.
“And it's the first step to give the baby those interests.”
So Laura's fuming runs out of the courtroom. Bruno and Silver at the hospital with another card again. Hospital women. So Mike wrote trying to the hospital. Everyone's in a card again.
Of course. You know, she remembers Ellie. And she shocked at this pregnancy. They explained that it could be someone that works there. And she gives the list of all the male workers.
And I love that. No warrants needed. Benson's outside and Laura and Ellie's room. And Laura sees Benson doesn't want to deal with her. She's just like, "Oh, my God.
I'm so happy." And she's like, "Oh, my God. I'm so happy." And she's like, "Oh, my God. I'm so happy."
And she's like, "Oh, my God. I'm so happy." And she's like, "Oh, my God. I'm so happy." And she's like, "Oh, my God.
I'm so happy." And she's like, "Oh, my God. I'm so happy." And she's like, "Oh, my God. I'm so happy."
And she's like, "Oh, my God. I'm so happy." Because I know the hairbrush, like I know you can get your hair dyed. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And just to be clear for myself, Benson's taking this whole thing so personally because
that's a rapist, baby. A rapist, baby. Rapist, baby. It's not like a rapist. Yeah.
That we're not even there yet, though, right? Like, I don't know. It feels like a little off. She's gone through that many, many times with other people. I'm with you.
Like, you know, okay. Go on. I'm with you there. Hi, it's Alec Baldwin.
This season on my podcast, here's the thing I'm speaking with more artists, policymakers,
and performers that compose a Mark Shaman. Once you've established that you have the talent, it's about the hang. It's the pleasure of hanging out with the people that you're with. You know, Robin Eye was always a great hang. We would sit in kibbits for hours and then eventually get around to the music.
“That's what I mostly think of when I think of him, the time together, laughing.”
Lawyer, Robbie Kaplan, the great gift of being a lawyer is the ability to actually change things in our society in a way that very few people can't. And you can really make a difference to causes. And I say to you, if you bring the right case at the right time, in the right angle. Yeah, when there's the perfect example.
And journalist Chris Whipple. Every White House staffer, they work in a bubble called the West Wing. And it's exponentially more so in the Trump White House. I'm not too intimidated by her.
What are you talking about?

Pludges and actives, rush chairs, and ritual keepers. Some call it the best time of their life, while others say it's a nightmare. as we explore the fellowship in the front of me. Let's get dirty. Listen to Dirty Rush on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So, okay, so then one old man, doctor, suspicious.
He leaves the line.
He starts walking away, Bruno runs after him.
He's like, I'm chief of neurosurgery. Go fuck yourself. I have brain surgery to get to. And unless you can remove a brain stem tumor, I'm out of here.
“And if you need to swab me, come to my office in eight to ten hours.”
So, he's not denying he'll take part in it, but he's like, he's inpatient at the moment. Finn and Courier are with care and suspicious. So Finn and Courier are with Chris, who's pissed, and he's not the father.
And Finn's like, why do you sound angry about that? And he goes, I'm angry at myself. Like, that means Ellie was raped, and I could have protected her. And it's like, you put a rape in her.
And even Finn is like, are you hearing yourself bro? They hate him. And then Chris goes, are you going to find the person? And they're like, well, worry about that. Thanks.
And he's disgusting to me. And he tries to act like the good guy. And like, trying to be a part of this baby's life. And he says, like, my mom says, Laura, forgive me and Courier goes, okay, but we haven't.
So fuck you. Yeah. And Finn gets in his face and goes, and you stop calling Laura, or you'll see how uncomfortable I can make it in here for you. And I do hate the threat of jail violence on people, but not in this case.
I'm for it here. I like the threat to stop. I like this threat. I like this threat.
“Finn and Courier do a dimly lit walk and talk.”
And they're just happy Benson wasn't there. Or she would have flown over, you know, the table at him. And Finn calls him manipulative and delusional. Yes. Courier's like, how is Benson doing?
And he says, what do you mean? And she's like, stop playing dumb. I know she's a product of rape. Yeah, they said. It just feels like such a heavy-handed way
to get all the new people to know about this thing about her. Yeah. And it's like, like, do the new cops get a memo. But she goes, no, I'm X-A-B. I know it all.
And but she wants the full story. And Finn goes, well, I'm a good friend. So no, I'm not saying shit to you. Oh, that's essentially the Courier would know everything. Courier knows about like assaults that Benson's been a part of.
And like, everything. Yeah. Yeah. I don't like that. She's rather file.
He says Benson's still working through some things like the rest of us. But those things are what makes her perfect for this job. She says you're a great friend.
“He goes, why could they stay quiet about her personal life?”
I would do that for you, too. And she says, and there's like no way, like Finn and Benson are friends. But like, I don't think they really talk on a work. They don't hang out of work. Like, I think Finn has a full private life.
Yeah. Maybe a happy hour, but like, I don't think he tells a drink out of work. But I don't think they're hanging out beyond that. No. I think Benson, Courier, see and Rollins are.
Yep. I think Benson and Barb, maybe did some stuff for fun. Yeah. Yeah. But like, there's no, I think Finn is.
My work is separate and you won't know anything about me. Yeah, yeah. Because I didn't like what they have. I don't know if they have that much in common outside of work. What they're into, what they do for fun.
Having, yeah, just having kids in like justice. Yeah. Having kids in justice, man. I mean, he plays video games. He probably likes to smoke a little weed.
Like, I don't think she is. But I don't think he smokes weed because he's a cop. Maybe.
I was thinking not when he first started, but as if it came legal.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. A little bit editable for sure. Just to relax.
Yeah. So anyways, that's the friend. That's what we think. So then Courier goes and know that's not what makes you a good friend. Actually, it makes you a good friend is making sure she doesn't have to come back here.
And like deal with Chris. She also hates Chris, I guess, too. Obviously. I mean, they all do.
I don't know why her having to see Chris.
But I don't know, right, I don't get what's happening.
You're right. Fin goes.
“I hope we never have to come back here either.”
See him or his dumb bitch mom again. And then back at the office, not one worker matches the DNA of the baby. So fins like, okay, fuck random visitors and Benson's like, it wouldn't be random. Her mom was there all the time. And Bruno goes, maybe the crusty neurodoc.
I mean, to be called crusty. That's upsetting. So upsetting. And whatever. So, and he knows the floor well and he avoided giving a sample.
And, and Benson goes, oh, Isaac Haynes, like, I fucking met that guy. I'll go talk to him and I'll figure it out. So Benson goes to meet his ass. She swabs him herself. And it's like, you didn't have to give my detective such a hard time.
And he's like, I had to go to brain surgery. He's like, well, I looked at the visitor logs. And you visited her a little too much over 12 times. Like, what's going on? Well, you recommended to take her off life for support and then you keep visiting her.
And he goes, I'm not guilty of rape. You know, and you'll know that when the swab comes back. But, you know, I visited her because you actually got into my head, Benson. And he visited her to, like, see if she could squeeze a hand. Because Benson had a hand squeeze.
The mom's talking about hand squeezes. He didn't believe there could be a response. But she got him thinking. And so about bigger things in the human soul. So that's kind of cool.
And then he goes, I even talked to the youth pastor about who was spending a lot of time with Laura. He was trying to convert her. And he says, seems like it worked. So everyone's like, damn, this woman's going through it.
And so the two of them were always praying together over Ali.
And Benson's mouth is open. Like, okay, so we have another person. He's religious is obviously him.
“So Benson goes to talk to the mom or like, who's the spiritual guy?”
It's Caleb Hartwell. And he helped her find her faith again. And the question is, was Caleb ever alone in the room with Ali? And the room with Ali? Mom says, why?
Benson goes well. All visitors and employees don't match the DNA. And Laura says, well, you don't think it's my pastor, do you? And Benson goes, yeah, definitely. I mean, pastors, that's one of the stereotypes.
Again, like, I understand thinking, like, let's say you are in a simply thinking. Like, things are innocent or I know this person personally. But the idea of like, if one of the stereotypes of what you're talking about is that you're the rapist, you can't be shocked. It doesn't make sense to me.
Yeah, but when you kind of have this like film of religion in front of everything on your eyes, like you can't believe, even though you can have what? You can watch the spotlight 12,000 times. You still don't think people that work for the church would do that. You know, it doesn't get through.
Laura says, well, like I said, she doesn't think it's the pastor. And Benson is like, well, I don't think it's a random person or just off the street. So it must have been somebody who knew your patterns. And when you were gone from the room, was he ever alone with Ellie. And she goes, well, maybe one time the day of the heroes walk.
A different couple that Caleb was counseling. Their daughter was in a drunk driving accident and also had brain swelling. But was, you know, it had to be taken off life support. And there was an organ donation. And that's what they hear.
The hero walk is. And she spent about two hours with them in the chapel. And they're like, well, where the fuck was Caleb? And he says, waiting with Michelle's body and a room.
“And Benson goes, yeah, down the hall from Ellie's room, like what the fuck?”
We need the footage. We got him, Finn says, at 130 PM November 21st, he enters the room. And that's when Laura was in the chapel. And he goes to the bedside. Then he gets up and closes the blinds and door.
And 15 minutes later, he leaves. Okay, done. Done. Evidence, guilty. So they go on his website.
And he has a pastor website. And it says service and compassion. And volunteers at the trauma ward. And he saw unique struggles faced by teens and families in crisis through his work. And the hospital had nothing but good things to say about him.
So we need to get his DNA immediately. Like, why are you closing the shades? You go to visit the school girl. Like, find clothes to door for privacy. But there's no reason to close the shades.
Not knock. We visit him. He's hot for sure. And of course, there's a wife in the background. And they're like, hey, you know, what's up?
And they ask about how Ellie Hughes. And he does like a terrible act right of like, um, Ellie Hughes. Ellie Hughes. Yeah, no clue. He seems stunned to have the cops at his door.
And the wife's holding a baby. He lets the cops in. He's trying to act chill. But he sends his wife to go do something with the model. And the baby's four months old.
And so he's like, so what about Ellie? And they go, oh, so you do know her. And he goes, and the trauma unit. I remember now she came in horrible. But he hasn't been in touch with Laura.
And now that they're not in the trauma unit. But you know, it's long term care facilities. So they're not as tight. But the trauma unit, you know, he confirms him and Laura's relationship in the trauma unit.
And he says he was never alone with Ellie.
And he has no reason. He had no reason to do that. And he was actually focusing on a different family. And so then they show him the iPad footage of him going in and closing the door and shutting the shades.
He's like, oh, yeah, I remember now.
Oh, the hero's walk. It was very emotional.
“I was called to Ellie's room after for a quiet moment.”
And Bruno goes, huh. By who? And he says the Lord, the Lord called me in and, you know, we prayed together. And he says, I wish I can help. But, and then before you could finish, Silvago's, oh, you can give us your DNA.
You get scared as she goes, oh, actually, I have to help my wife. She can handle it on her own. I could tell. And he goes, it's actually not a good time. I have a sermon in a few hours.
I have to prepare for like, why don't you come back and we could do the test. And Bruno goes, oh, we will. And so the baby's crying in the background. And so basically his wife was nine months pregnant. And then he is called by God to be alone with a coma woman.
Okay.
And he's, he's never going to volunteer for a sample.
So they have to figure out what to do, right? Did they go through his trash? How did they get a warrant? They show the footage to Laura. And she says, oh, my God, he betrayed me.
I left her alone to help someone who just lost their child. And he used that chance to rape my daughter. And Benson goes, I'm so sorry. But we're going to get his ass. And she says, we need a reason to arrest him.
“And curry goes, did you give him permission to be alone with Ellie?”
And the mom says absolutely not. And that's criminal trespass. I'm sure that's reaching. But it's enough to arrest him. So they go get the, you know, pastries and a gene jacket trying to connect with the youth.
And he's talking about forgiveness and second chances. And that's like as soon as someone starts talking about forgiveness, they've raped. And as soon as someone that's not Christian becomes Christian, they've raped. Yeah. And they're like, man, the rest of the land.
Man is merely mortal. We all make mistakes. Yeah. Yeah. Sure.
I've made mistakes.
I've never sexually assaulted anyone.
Silva slowly moving down the aisle. He has a Britney Spears pop star Mike. And he's babbling about like hearts being open. And then Bruno's walking down the other aisle slowly. And he tries to run away and enters a secret prayer door.
But guess what? Curry and fin are their arrest. They found this secret prayer door. He seems stressed for sure. So yeah, that means we have his DNA now. And Benson and fin are watching him in the spy window.
He's lured up and it's the church has had council. But they're down to chat and fingers. I mean, does anybody doubt that his DNA is going to be there. And Silva goes no and the footage. Like we got his ass.
So she goes in. She's like, hey, I'm Benson. This is Bruno. Bruno and him are like, oh, we've met. We've met.
And Benson shows the footage on the iPad.
And we're all in cement room bars.
And it's like, so what's up here on this iPad? And he again is like, I hate, I actually hate the iPad and this shows universe. Yeah. It seconds me actually.
Yeah, wait. It is. It does like throw me. I don't like the iPad. I hate it.
I hate it. Back in the day, they used to just have a little photo. Like paper photo. Yeah, or even laptop with the turn screen. But like, there's something like fruit ninja about it.
About the swipe. There's something like flipping about the swiping. And let's a little bit. Yeah. Yeah.
But he goes, I was called to pray. I was called to pray. And Benson goes, I don't want to say it. Now I put a heated rivalry line in there. But he says, no, that's between me and Ellie.
And God. Bruno is like, oh, God called you to rape a coma to swaman. And Benson goes, okay, well, I know God didn't want you to. Like rape a completely helpless woman. And he interrupts Ellie.
Is it helpless? Her spirit, her soul. She's very much alive. And Benson says, even if that's true, she cannot consent. And he says, yeah, Laura shared that you acknowledge that the core of Ellie might still be there.
So, and she goes, so you're using the tiny shred of hope that Ellie might wake up one day as an excuse to sexually assault her. And he says, you squeezed her hand, right? She was present. And Benson goes, I don't know.
“And shut the fuck up, we're talking about you, not me, okay?”
And now he's like, do you believe in God? It's God's will. And Benson goes, you're deeply confused about who God is. And he says, God allows bad things to happen to good people every day. Like look at what Chris did to her.
And Bruno leans in and says, you made it worse. And he goes, how is bringing a life into this world worse than trying to remove one? So we got him with a confession. And I held her hand and asked her if she wanted a baby. And she squeezed and Bruno starts laughing.
The lawyer's like, he's telling you his truth and it's based in faith. And you can't just prove that. And Benson goes, well, I know who's going to have a hard time. Like, you know, who's not going to have a hard time just proving it. And it's 12 people on the jury.
And he says, I gave them both a miracle. And Benson goes, no, you raped Ellie. And you conned her mother with your religion, so you can get close enough to do it. And he says he's an autocon man, but a man of God. And now Benson's laughing, it's a riot and cement room bars today.
And she stands up and goes, oh, I believe in God. And I hope you believe in him as half as much as you pretend to. Because then you'll know that there's a place for people like you, which is worse than any prison that we could put you into. And he hates listening to her talk, but she's going to make sure that he spends the rest of his days in a six by eight cell.
She promises.
She goes, I promise. And she walks out.
And Finn comes in with great news.
“The lab confirms Heartwell's DNA is a paternal match.”
Duh. Carices are reigning him. Benson will let Laura know and plans to talk to Ellie as well. Finn asks you really think she's like trapped inside there. And she goes, I don't know, but if she has like, she deserves to know the truth.
Finn nods. Benson walks off. Hair swinging. She goes to talk to Ellie. She wants to let her know that she like understands the burden that your child will carry.
And as they enter this world.
And she understands because she carries it too. And one thing I know for certain is that your mother loves you unconditionally. Truly. And then Ellie finger moves, but on the opposite hand. So I don't think Benson saw it.
But it prompts her to go to the cemetery. And she touches her mother's tombstone. And it says beloved mother, Serena Benson. And that's Dick Wolf, baby. Damn.
So we don't even like know what happens.
We don't know if she keeps the baby.
She keeps the baby. She's keeping the baby. There's no way. Yes. The grandmother needs this baby.
The babies will be kept. Yeah. It's interesting because the the episode is pretty close to this other episode. They didn't season 11. I feel like it would have been more fucked up.
Is this too fucked up to say you can tell me? I think you would have been almost more fucked up if this guy had like convinced the mom to let him do it.
“If he had like through religion convinced the mom to be like let me you have to let me impregnate her that will give you another child that will be the extension of her life.”
And the mom was like, I could see this mom buying into it. No, because she really cares about her daughter, but that is, you know, that's the next view brain rot right there. That's like this wasn't dark enough. And honestly, we want the mom encouraging it. I just feel like it would have differentiated it from, I don't know, just the other episode, but it's also super fucked up.
But indeed, Marishka's like, oh, great. I have to talk about being a rape kid again or she's like, we need that put it in for the new viewers like you said. Like, what do you think her attitude is? I don't know. I don't it feels like this one was a stretch because it's just such a different story.
It's like it's not the child doesn't have this child is not going to have like the relationship with the mother, which it feels like was so tough. Yeah, this child won't have a relationship with a mom that's lying combatose, you know. So I think that's like what was so tough about Benson was like, she could see, she could see her mom like sort of hating her when she looked at her or whatever. So it seems like it's shoehorned into this a little bit at this episode to be honest. But yeah, it's like, because now they have Silva and Bruno and Curry maybe they just needed to like get the new people involved in like the Benson lore.
I don't really know why. I don't really understand Curry's combo with I see either with Finn about like you're a good friend. You stopped her from coming back here like, I don't know.
“And it's like in your dumb bitch, why are you talking about it?”
Yeah, but also Benson is in charge if she wants to go to Greenhaven, she can go to Greenhaven if she doesn't want to go to Greenhaven, she can send someone else to do it. She's the boss, you know, but you know, I don't know. But let's get into the real case that's going to be depressing. So here we go, get ready to get sad. So on December 29th of 2018.
So this episode was out when 25 last year, so about seven years earlier at Hosseum to healthcare in Phoenix, Arizona. A 29 year old female patient suddenly went into labor and gave birth to a healthy baby boy. The staff was totally unaware that she was pregnant because this woman had an intellectual disability and was non-verbal. The result of childhood seizures that she started having at two months old. So a lot of the articles that I read about this woman described her as incapacitated, combatose or in a vegetative state.
But then other articles I read said that she could experience pain and respond with facial gestures and some vocal sounds. Such as crying went uncomfortable, but she could also respond to auditory stimuli and had some limited ability to move her head neck and limbs limited. So perhaps more mobile than it seems like Ellie, but not able to speak or communicate thoughts or give consent for example. She had been in the facilities since the age of three. She had been in that same facility for 26 years. And the staff was obviously shocked to discover her going into labor and delivering a baby.
The baby's grandmother immediately became his guardian. And while he was healthy at birth, it was speculated that he could have developmental problems in the future as his mother was not noticed.
Well, we're going to get into that.
And then that baby's fine, but it's a little bit different when you're literally bedridden and, you know, being given food a certain way and being given drugs that are probably not compatible with a fetus.
“So in the weeks that followed the birth, one of the doctors responsible for her care was suspended and another resigned. The CEO of Haseyenda stepped down.”
They swabbed all the male staff members and they got a match.
A 36 year old nurse named Nathan Sutherland with no prior record who had been working at the facility since 2011 and had been thoroughly vetted was a match. What does he was early vetted even mean? Yeah, I guess checked his old places of employment and he didn't have any, I don't know. But he was arrested in January of 2019, obviously lost his job. He was charged with sexual assault and vulnerable adult abuse. Sadly, it was reported that the sexual abuse may have been going on for a long time. There was physical evidence that supports this.
The facility seemed to ignore or not notice the signs and the same for when she became pregnant. The facility ignored signs like she had a descended belly, swollen feet and missed periods. And a doctor even at one point ordered her to cut down on her caloric intake to combat her weight gain. So that when she gave birth, she was malnourished and she had no pain medication. So not surprisingly in February of 2019 a month after he's arrested.
Haseyenda announced it's shutting down. But don't worry, by May 1st, the state of Arizona gave them their license back and they are back in business too. Why? I don't know. Because this place Haseyenda is a place that state funded. So they favors.
I don't know. They shut it down and then three months later.
“They got a new CEO. I think they got a new board.”
And they just were like, we're back. And we're going to pay attention to this stuff. We're going to pay attention. And this is going to happen again. Southern neighbors described him as a friendly but quiet family man who went to church. He lived in the Phoenix area with his wife and four children. But in 2018 he was going through a divorce with his wife.
NBC News had an article. They snagged the scoop that at one point he was a Christian rapper who went by SLS or sleepless soldiers. It's just was crazy to me that that was a full article. It was like, by the way, this awful man used to rap. Like, okay, we don't need the extra layer of terribleness.
At first in 2019 he pled not guilty.
But then by 2021 he had changed his plea to guilty. At his sentencing in 2021, his biological sister and him had been adopted from Haiti when they were like three and seven years old. And his sister and his adoptive mother both described him as a very kind and caring person. They claimed that addiction and failed romantic relationships had landed him in a dark place.
Southern gave his own statement about growing up in Haiti where he was in an orphanage. And he was allegedly sexually abused there. He said that failed relationships and verbal abuse caused him to develop animosity towards women. A part from his adoptive mother and his sister. So in 2021 he was sentenced to 10 years in prison, which was the max.
The judge acknowledged his difficult upbringing and his substance abuse issues, but said that the breach of ethics he displayed as a nurse tasked with caring for and protecting. The most vulnerable of patients was too egregious to ignore. And that was reported in AZ Central. After he's released, he'll have a supervised probation for life and he will be required to register
as a sex offender because he was given. He was given credit for time served.
“So he'll be out in like twenty twenty nine, I think.”
And the victims family filed a claim against the state of Arizona, saying that Hasianda repeatedly ignored signs that their daughter had been raped. And this was allowed to happen because the state had virtually no oversight. Like there was, there was vaginal's hearing, like there was proof that she had no. Often the people that work at these places don't get paid well.
No. And so it's like, they don't care maybe. Yeah, I mean, sometimes it's like you don't feel like you're going to go the extra mile or actually be like, Wait, what is that? Like, so the family sued Hasi, they sued, I think one of the doctors.
And they sued the state of Arizona.
They wanted forty five million twenty five for the victim.
Ten for the mother and ten for the father of her mother and father. They ended up getting a fifteen million dollar settlement from the doctors insurance.
Then they got seven point five million from the state of Arizona.
So yeah, they did end up with, I mean, their guilt is fuck.
Good. Yeah, what a fuck. That's a lot of money. You never hear that.
“It's also terrible that she was feeling pain and like having a fully unmedicated birth and not having.”
Probably any idea what was going on at all. And so that's that's sort of how that ended. He's in jail and, you know, other well-known pregnancies involving sexually abused, and being treated in combatose female patients have been reported in New York in 1996. Massachusets in 1998 and Argentina in 2015.
So it's happened other places. But this, this one was like the most, it felt like close to this story. So now this boy also is out there too. Living his life with his grandma. I hope he's okay.
But horrible. Yeah. Yeah. You know, bummer. I don't know what I was expecting.
I know. It's, it's fucking gross. I mean, it is really like these are just people that need, like trust to you with their, they're so vulnerable and you're just like totally but during their trust. It's, it's disgusting.
Okay. Well, no guests today because as we mentioned up top, somebody canceled on a three times and we cannot wait to see your guesses on the Instagram. Uh, comments of who you think it was. Let's just jump into the post mortem. I mean, this episode is so like, just like the Felicia News has done more than one episode about people.
sexually assaulting people who are in coma is wild. I mean, the just the most vulnerable of our population. People that are just lying there unable to move most of the time. Um, being assaulted. Yeah.
And you know, he has a wife and a daughter. Yeah. Yeah. You know, or he's religious. He's a man of God.
Why does that stop? Anybody who's alive? This virtue of forgiveness. I'm not for it. It may be a for it.
It's like relax. You could be mean to this mom. The guy fucking. When you go on subway takes, that's going to be your hot take forgiveness. We need to hear what event.
In Laura was on today. Um, if this is time stamping when we recorded, but I like it. It was if you have crazy family that are like unhinged and awful. Like you shouldn't have to introduce your romantic partner to them. [laughs]
It's like, what's why do I have to like bring this cue and on freak to this person. Like it makes no sense.
And I was like, yeah, how are you the first one to ever say that?
Yeah. Like, and if you've gotten sucked into some kind of youth pastor situation where he's sexually assaulting people in coma, I don't think you need to keep going to his.
“Uh, I think you need to keep going to his church meetings.”
Yeah, I went to, I hopefully the church helps, you know, the wife and kid. My favorite thing about this episode is how the guy is wearing like a madonna mic and thinks that he's going to have such a huge crowd. And it's like literally 15 people are there to hear him preach. Yeah, but, you know, you have to, you have to dress for the job you want.
You have to dance at the mall full force if you want that record label. You know what I mean? You want the footage of Gaga in the bar trying her hardest. You got off. You got to commit. Sure.
Sure. I don't think Gaga was wearing the full, you know. I bet you'd be committing without the Janet Jackson like Mike, but, you know. Well, speaking, well, this is obscene related, but a lot of people are like Michael Jackson's not in them. He was saving. Yes.
Told you. And then someone goes, well, there's still lots of rapists that aren't in the files that exist. I go, yeah, but it does make me question some stuff. Not question. I don't know. It makes me think. I've been seeing a lot.
You sent a couple and I've been seeing a lot of this because, you know, our Michael Jackson episode. People really did come out of the woodwork and we're very angry at us for talking about him and. An episode that is clearly based on him, whether or not he's guilty or not. And I don't know.
It's like, yes, Corey Feldman in McColle Colt can have always said he didn't do anything.
But the guys that did come forward were never superstars. The guys that the victims that did come forward were never hugely famous kids.
“So I think there's also a possibility that just because he didn't do things to some kids that he did to others.”
I don't know. I mean, is it also possible that he was a full scapegoat from the police to try to keep eyes off of other powerful people that we're doing that? Of course, that's also possible. Yeah, everything is possible now that the kids have been open. Yeah.
Absolutely. And the kids are open. We are here. Yeah, and that's well, well, I don't know what the lessons are we learned from this. Don't like forgiveness. Yeah, forgive us.
You got to give your blood test or hair follicles or they're going to think you did it.
Squeezing a hand means nothing, but you know, it's what mean what it means to...
Yeah, this Justin breaking news chills there and did get fired from that. So hilariously, this woman has been waiting to get back on Regality TV for decades now. Like she's been dying. She was so sad to get kicked off of Roney. They were going to put her on this E whatever Lamo spin off. And she's out now, because she could not talk about how the halftime show was in Spanish.
She goes, does not even, you can't if it's a white person anywhere. Oh, my God, I didn't even cross my fucking mind that did not cross my mind. People are like representation matters, not for me. I wasn't like, where are the white women? Like I did not think about that. What I'm watching this Super Bowl.
Oh, they're guys grinding.
“Oh, I would you think about, why would you be counting the weights?”
Not when there's hot men grinding exactly and there's hot. There's great. There's hot, there's great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great. My niece went to a heated rivalry like DJ Knight and dance on stage and she painted her nails and like the team colors and stuff. Oh, my gosh, okay, okay, connect.
Okay. Okay, connect. Okay. They were a webster something. Oh, Webster Hall, baby, I've been there.
But web, but I can't believe there's Webster Hall's everywhere. Because I was like, you're in New York and you didn't tell me. And she's like, no. I'm pretty sure it's Webster Hall and Hartford, too. I hope I'm just--
No, you're right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I forget why I saw there, but I've seen a couple of bands there.
“All right, let's move on to our, what would sister peg do?”
Are segment that we do every week telling you more information about what we learned in the episode like an article a book, a documentary something. But honestly, there's really not much more to let me bring part in than the case that we have laid out in front of you. So in line with the news and whatever one has been talking about that is, you know, an unfolding travesty going on. This week we wanted to point you to a TED talk given by an Epstein survivor named Jess Michaels. This was a suggestion from a listener named Molly.
Thank you for sending this in.
The title of the talk is how sexual assault first aid revolutionizes prevention.
It's a TEDx talk and it's available on YouTube and it invites listeners to, to, quote, consider a solution to sexual violence beyond just prevention and to also focus on healing. So we will link to that in our show notes and that will be linked in our story.
