But what if we didn't get the whole story?
Out of this space of fist.
The moment you look at the whole picture of the case, collage.
“What if the truth was disguised by a story we chose to believe?”
I think she might be innocent. Listen to doubt the case of Lucy Lepby on the iHeart Radio app. Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Nancy Glass, host of the burden of guilt season 2 podcast. This is a story about a horrendous lie that destroyed two families.
Late one night, Bobby Gumpride became the victim of a random crime. And a perpetrator was sentenced to 99 years until a confession changed everything. I was a monster. Listen to burden of guilt season 2 on the iHeart Radio app. Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox Sports Radio. Final hour on this Tuesday, Dan and the Danets, Dan Patrick Show. More of your phone calls coming up 877-3DP Show.
“Good morning, if you're watching on peacock, down low the app.”
If you haven't done so, you can also watch on the NBC Sports Network. I ran down the draft king's odds after yesterday's free agency frenzy for the Super Bowl odds. The ramsier favorite followed by the seahawks and the ravens, their time. Then it's the bills, chiefs, Packers, Niners, Eagles, Chargers, Lions. And Fritzi wanted to know one of our callers wanted to know where the Broncos.
Well, the Patriots are next, then the Texans, then it's the Broncos. Jags and bears, then it's the Bengals. Bengals have better odds than the Cowboys in the Buccaneers and the Steelers and the Vikings and the Coles and the Commanders. Wow.
So you start to look, I guess it's surprising. I will be surprised if the Patriots make the playoffs this year. I just think they'll be a little bit of a dip, but they're probably 11 best odds. Then the Texans, they're actually tied with the Patriots and then the Broncos as well. And as one of the callers said, hey, you know, we're a healthy ankle away from going to the Super Bowl
and you're probably right. The Jags, Jags that plus 2500, the Bears plus 2500. Then you got the Bengals plus 3000, the Cowboys plus 3500. But the Buccaneers and the Steelers, Steelers at plus 5,000, Vikings plus 6,000. That'll improve once they get Kyla Murray, in my opinion. Steelers, I'm assuming Aaron Rodgers will be back.
I don't know if there's any possibility he could go elsewhere or this Steelers would entertain Kyla Murray. But Albert Breer, the Monday morning quarterback, joined us last hour and he said, Kyla wants to go to the Vikings. It's just a question of do the Vikings won him.
All right. Pull question for the final hour of the program. So you're going to be what?
We got many. We got a million of them up there right now.
Some of our most eclectic slash diverse poll questions. One from Paul, who had the best day yesterday right now. Malik Willis has about 49% of that vote followed by Fernando Mendoza. Yes, Paul? Didn't, beyond financially, he was going to get paid anywhere.
Do Malik Willis's career get better? Notice we'd better? Well, he has a chance to be a starting quarterback. On a team that had a fire sale and has very few weapons left in the cupboard. I don't know.
How are you saying he should have stayed in Green Bay as a backup quarterback, instead of going to Miami?
No, I would say what's our better football option out there,
because the money would have probably been equal.
“I don't think there is unless he was going to go to Arizona,”
because it feels like the Vikings are going to go with Kyla Murray. Do you want to go to Arizona? Do you want to go to Miami? I mean, yes, see. If you look at the teams that were maybe interested in them,
the Dolphins, Cardinals, Browns, Jets, maybe with the Steelers, a supposed could have been, maybe the Vikings, but maybe they weren't. Maybe that money wasn't right. We might think that there were more people interested in them than the really were.
Yeah, in the money, I mean, it's not a lot to get a guy who's going to be a starting quarterback.
Three years, and it's 67 and a half million dollars total.
That's pretty good. Pretty good. Especially since you just spent 350 million for one year or two. It's unbelievable bargain. Not exactly that, but close.
My numbers might be awful, little bit. Yes, Paul. Next year, to make 56.5 million dollars. 55. I double checked this.
“He's going to make 56.5 to an extra year.”
55 from Miami. 1.5 from Atlanta. Malik Willis will make 23 million next year. Fernando Mendoza will make 33.5 million. That combines for 56 million.
Yeah. So it was a wild day yesterday from start to finish. Still, you know, tray Hendricks and could end up with the Cowboys. Kyle Murray. He's going to be released tomorrow.
And I think he'll end up with the Vikings. The Malik Willis to the Dolphins. I wasn't surprised that he went there. I was kind of surprised at the philosophy of the dolphins. Why not just let Quinn viewers play.
And then you'll be in the market for a franchise quarterback next year. It's probably what Arizona is thinking. They brought in a gardener min shoe there. So it feels like they'll have a room full of backup quarterbacks. That somebody has to start there.
I like what the Raiders did. They spend some money.
But it's only the first day.
And you know, they'll be bits and pieces to fill in. But also, what does this mean for certain teams with the draft?
“That's what interest me probably more so as we move into the second and third day of free agency.”
All right. So new poll questions seen or did you just clean up the previous questions? That was one. We got a bunch more here. Here's one from the mind of Todd Fritz with their latest moves.
And if Fernando Mendoza proves to be the real deal, the Raiders are silver and back question mark right now. Your options there are you betcha or easy there easy there right now. That's 77% of that vote. Canceling magic city night was smart or lame right now.
The lanes have that at 54% of the audience. Let's see. There was another one in here too that I can't seem to find. Which is a better movie wedding crashes or old school.
That is straight up 50 50 right now.
And whose career would you want Luke Wilson or Owen Wilson 80% Owen Wilson? Dang Luke, you're going to take that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, Todd has Luke been in anything I've note very recently. I see him on some phone commercial walking in the desert with a dog.
As far as comparing Owen and Luke's career. I don't know what Luke's been in. The reason why it's alone I would go Owen as well. Okay. Owen is in a golf series.
I think. Don't know what it's called. But I saw the promotional campaign around that. But I don't know what Luke's been involved in. Yeah.
They fed the card out some nice careers there. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Can you do an impersonation if it's only one word? Like you did your bread far, every impersonation I have is essentially one word. There's one one word. Yeah. Course course course.
Yeah. All right, we'll get to some phone calls here. Quiet day so far with free agency. Congratulations to Troy and Furman. They have punched their tickets to that big dance.
Team USA drop Mexico and let's find a watch. It is. It's one of those where I go. I don't know if I want to watch and then I watch and I go. Why do I say I don't know if I want to watch it?
I'm watching Korea against Australia. And I'm going. All right. The environment is pretty good. Pretty good.
And now Team USA. I think they have Italy coming up. Is that right? And you throw out the records when those two get together. You just never know.
Italy, known for their baseball.
Italian baseball is no joke.
Yes, Martin. But here's the Italian.
Are they Italian Americans?
Or are they like straight from Rome? Like is it Mike Piata? Like you know what?
“I have great grandfather that came over from the old country.”
I don't know the roster. Maybe maybe look at the roster and see how many players are from the United States. Yes, Marvin. I just got word from our expert Mario that it's a lot of Italian Americans. Okay.
They're like the Rock-O-Baudelli's of the world. Rock-O-Baudelli. Okay. Yes, Paul. I have the Italy baseball roster up on my screen at all times.
But it's probably two thirds USA born quickly looking at it. There's actually players that are born in both Canada and Venezuela on Italy roster. Which is interesting. So I would say it's mostly USA born players. Sunday night basketball and NBC and Peacock every Sunday night.
You got Nixon the Warriors Sunday night on NBC and Peacock Lee.
Talked a little bit about SGA hitting the game winner last night. And he had a stat line that only one other player. We believe in NBA history at least when they started keeping these stats. Well, Ron James, where he went for 35-15 in no turnovers. Also hitting the game winner.
Now, Tony and California leads us off final hour. Hey, Tony. Hey, guys. Good morning. I'm so incredibly happy, man.
The Clippers meet the next. They reach 500. Slid into the eighth spot. I'm a believer. We're so good now.
Even when we lose to the spur, we make Wemby cry. And he said, quote, it was a toughest game of my career. That's the most physical team in the league. I'm a believer, Dan.
I know you're still a little incredulous.
I'm going to have to wait. I'm going to play the long game with the Clippers there. I'm just curious what happens to Coil I Leonard. After, you know, they do that investigation. I don't know what the commissioner is waiting on.
But it feels like Pablo Torres is still kind of trolling the commissioner of, what are you waiting for here with Coil I Leonard? And somehow, does he end up a free agent? Let's see. How about Zach and Knoxville?
Hi, Zach. What's on your mind today? Hi, D.P. Thanks for taking my call. Pretty sure that all that magic city gear is going to the same place that the
18 and out Patriots Super Bowl gear is going. There was a story on ESPN years ago about how they sent that out to Africa. Or, you know, certain places are there. There's going to be a bunch of kids walking around with some magic city swag.
“And I was just wondering if, you know, you remember you had that conversation with”
Jonah Hill about if he was, you know, if he's not his funny, if he since he got skinnier, he didn't even get what have their reverse effect on Todd. If Todd got skinnier, he might be funnier. Wow. He might have got it.
Wow. I didn't expect that from Zach. They don't get funnier when you get skinnier. And that was totally unmaster to try to kind of connect. And you're, you could not do it.
Zach gets it. Zach gets it. A little bit of a reach just to take a shot. How about we try it, Todd? Well, that's something I should be working on humor or not.
I should be working on trapping some LBs. But I find it hard to believe that as you get slimmer, you would become funnier. That just doesn't seem like that would happen. It's very few funny. Well, Jerry Sinfield, but you want to see someone that's like kind of out of shape and
sweating, sweaty and angry and sarcastic. So, well, how come I'm not funny? A dachipel is not chubby. I can't add them. You know, Chris, not chubby.
Yeah. You can't add them. People with, uh, you know, How do you call them? You will feral.
“I think it's easier to try to laugh with and act somebody.”
They've got good material and you're like, goodness, I don't look like that. And there's things I've been funny. They've got a better chance of getting some chocolate. Okay.
Thank you, sir. Yeah. Yeah. Thanks, sir. Yeah.
Yes, Paulie. You can go the other way, Todd, and put on 20. See if you can get even more funny. Yeah. That's where I might have to get a laugh that I just go even more calories.
Yeah. That was a rough moment when I'm, uh, bringing that up to Jonah Hill. Yeah. Because he had lost weight. And, uh, I was just curious to do people look at you differently.
I wasn't saying you're not as funny. I was saying do people look at you. He didn't appreciate that. You know, he didn't know. He did.
He did not appreciate that. That was his last appearance on the show.
Yes.
Yes. And I think we'll feral likes to remind me of that moment with the Jonah. That was unfortunate. Yes. Yes, Paul.
This might be irony. But if you remember the movie, "Funny People" with Sandler, Jonah Hill's Seth Rogan. Jonah Hill's character says something about Zack about Rogan's character. You're, you're not as funny now that you're in shape or something like that.
He actually says that in the movie. Because in the movie, uh, he gets in shape. Maybe that's where I got it from.
“I, I, I remember that line from the movie.”
I don't know exactly the line. But I remember Jonah Hill going, "Dane, are you really going to ask me that?" I went, uh, yep. Yes.
He didn't, not to, um, sort of pile on. But it was right around the same era that you asked a college football coach if they're weight, uh, impacted their ability to recruit. And they didn't appreciate that. I remember the name and the question.
I do too. I was just trying to leave that out. But that, that, they also did not appreciate, uh, that question. And that's why we don't want to spoil to me. Right there, you know?
I give it, then I take it the way. [laughs] Anyhoo. Yes, Todd. Not everybody gets your sense of humor.
That's what it all comes down to. Why'd says it? Everybody says it. Oh, I just got to loosen up a little bit. Do you think I'm too thin to be funny?
Yeah. Me personally? I left a lot of things you said over the years. I don't think weight does. Yeah, but I'm your boss.
I'm your boss. Yeah, but that being said, you know, I've, we've given taken shot to each other over the last 20 plus year. So that doesn't get in the way of that. But if I gain 20 pounds, will be hilarious.
Thank you, Todd. Dan and Naples. I Dan, what's on your mind today? Quick question from Mar, based on your Buffalo take. Do you think that fiancee and her fans are happier
with their second round exit?
Or do you think they would have been happier? You know, making it to the big show? I hang up and listen. So, that press got in his fiancee of broken up. Would you rather just be dating?
Or make it all the way to out. You're have a bachelor bachelor at party. And then all of a sudden you decide you're not getting married. Marvin? Well, they didn't get married.
So he probably, he wanted this in this scenario, right? So you rather than-- Did she win? I'm talking about dad. So dad would.
I don't know what happened in this relationship. I don't either. They both had their bachelor bachelor read parties, and then all of a sudden they announced that they weren't getting married. Yes, Todd.
Yes, can't at worms, but we're hinting at dancing around the elephant. The room, would you sign a pre-knock? Or expect your future spouse to sign a pre-knock? It's kind of what we're saying. TMZ debunk that story.
Yeah, full debunking. Debunking. Harvey Levin debunked that. Oh, fun question to ask. Okay.
If your wife made a whole lot of money, would you sign a pre-knock? Todd? I would be offended at first. I'm like, really? We're already planning on getting divorced.
And you're like, you're worried about me taking half. But if I really loved her, and I would probably go--
I say she's got a billion dollars, but you have sign a pre-knock.
And she's like, smoking hot and everything. And all that kind of thing. And I'm just really head over heels. There's no other-- I don't know what she looks like.
“Right now, you're debating whether you should sign a pre-knock”
if the smoking hot chili in there won't-- Because I don't know what I'm going to get in the future. This may be my only chance for me. But I would sign it, I guess. Yeah, it's something that--
Yes, Paul. I think I would sign it if I married someone who had a gigantic career financial before we met. Well, pre-knock, you still get something. It's not you walk out with a zero.
Well, a lot of times you get paid with each year of marriage. So let's say you get a million dollars with each year of marriage. Then you get to 25 years and you get a $10 million bonus. See, pre-knock, you sign? What I, of course.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I would too. It's really not a big deal to me. Yeah, it's her money. She made it.
Yeah. And fine. You know? But I'll-- Now, would you ask somebody to sign a pre--
Let's say you're worth a billion, Todd.
Would you ask your fiance to sign a pre-knock? I would say, can you just sign something for me? And I wouldn't, you know, just kind of block out the redact with it on there. No, I would-- I probably would. I would ask for, if you wouldn't mind signing that.
But you're offended. But you'd be offended if you're wife. And you're-- Yes, initially. Initially, I'd be offended with my initial reaction.
Like, you're worried about me.
“That's why I'm in this because I want to have your money.”
If this doesn't work out. And then I would calm down and say, yeah. Where do I sign? Yes, Marvin. If she helped me build the billion?
No.
But if I come in already as a billionaire?
Yes. I'll pre-knock. Mm-hmm. Yes, sir. All right.
Let's take a break. And we'll get more phone calls. You got one, honey. Do--no. No.
I didn't make any money when I met my wife. It'd be an awkward conversation to have now, though.
“Yeah, I was just thinking, what are we going to pay for working with?”
What are we thinking about? That would be an awkward one now. At this point in the game? What else is that idea? Are we releasing a car with this paperwork?
This is a bad idea. Yeah. Post-nup. Yeah.
You know, it'd be a tough initial conversation.
But no, I didn't make any money. She didn't make any money. She can have it all. When I go, she can have it all. I don't care.
It's a binding contract. Let's take a break. We're back after this. Dan Patrick show. Kids might want a few bucks.

Hey, I'm Jay Shetty, host of the on purpose podcast. My latest episode is with Hillary Duff, singer, actress, and multi-plattener artists. Hillary opens up about complicated family dynamics,
motherhood, and releasing our first record in over 10 years.
We talk about what it's taken to grow up in the entertainment industry and stay grounded through every chapter. It's a role in honest conversation about identity, evolution, and building a life that truly matters. You desire in family like this picture,
and that's not reality a lot of the time it's for people. My sister and I don't speak, it's definitely a very painful part of my life, and I hope it's not forever, but it's for right now. Listen to on purpose, with Jay Shetty,
on the iHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In 2023, a story gripped the UK, evoking horror and disbelief. The nurse who should have been in charge of caring for tiny babies
is now the most prolific child killer in modern British history. Everyone thought they knew how it ended. A verdict, a villain, a nurse named Lucy Leppi. Lucy Leppi has been found guilty. But what if we didn't get the whole story?
A moment you look at the whole picture, the case collapses. I'm Amanda Knox, and in the new podcast "Doubt," the case of Lucy Leppi, we follow the evidence and hear from the people that lived it. To ask what really happened when the world decided
who Lucy Leppi was. No voicing of any skepticism are doubt. It'll cause so much harm at every single level of the British establishment of this is wrong. Listen to doubt the case of Lucy Leppi on the iHeart Radio app.
Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Nancy Glass, host of the burden of guilt season 2 podcast. This is a story about a horrendous lie that destroyed two families. Late one night, Bobby Gumpride became the victim of a random crime. He pulls the gun, tells me to lie down on the ground.
He identified Termine Hudson as the perpetrator. Termine was sentenced to 99 years.
Like, "Lord, this can't be real.
I thought it was a mistaken identity."
The best lie is partial truth. For 22 years, only two people knew the truth until a confession changed everything. I was a monster. Listen to burden of guilt season 2 on the iHeart Radio app.
Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I hit the way back machine when I realized Mike Evans was going to go to San Francisco. And I just curious how many starts he's had in his career Hall of Fame career. And he had 75 in counting.
And you go back to college. And Johnny Mansell was obviously great, fascinating. But it felt like the bailout was I just throw it up there and Mike Evans is going to catch it.
“And I remember, at some point, we go, you know what?”
This guy Mike Evans is really good. Now Johnny got all the attention. And if you were going to guess, how many career starts for Johnny Mansell versus Mike Evans in the NFL? Johnny had eight.
And if you look at career earnings, Mike Evans is 155 million in counting.
I think Johnny Mansell made about 13 million dollars. But looking back on that college career. And it just felt like Johnny would run around and throw it up. And Mike Evans would catch everything. And then all of a sudden we realized he's a first round draft pick as wide receiver.
And now he's going to be a whole of Famer. Yes, Marvin. Can Mike Evans get like a hand or a leg of the Heisman trophy? Because he was a big part of the reason why Johnny Mansell won. I don't know where that Heisman is for Johnny.
But yeah, sure. If I went to sports Emmy, I would like to give out pieces of my sports Emmy to our audience. Just maybe melt it down or chop it up and just give out little pieces there. Just giving back, Marvin. Okay.
But that's just giving back. That's all that is. Giving back to the people. Yeah, Mar. How many pieces can you put this sports Emmy into?
I don't know. Don't try to find out. Just a little nugget there. Yes, Paul. You could probably grind it into fine dust and put it in like little bottles.
And everyone gets one. Okay. All right. Maybe I do that. Yeah, maybe I just give back to the community.
That they're part of the. It's not going to happen, but it sounds really good that I'm offering that up. Yes, Mar. We have to just get there. Yeah.
Yeah. Not just get there. We have to win it. Right, Mar. Or we'll be disappointed.
I'll be disappointed if we don't get nominated. Steve Kerr, the Warriors head coach, dropped this little nugget on us last night, where he was talking about the NBA schedule being too long. I know this will not be a popular opinion in the league office, but I will continue to. To say it because it's obvious we need to play fewer games.
We need to take 10 games off the schedule.
“I think it would be great for the league.”
And I get it. It's revenue. And you'd have to get everybody to agree to take a little less money. And that's a really hard thing to do. But what I know about the league, about coaching, about how hard it is to play.
The modern game with the pace and the space. I think it would be a more competitive and healthier league. If we played few games. Yeah. It's not popular.
It's not going to be a popular with the fans, with the players, with the owners. The TV executives. Pretty much nobody because what you're getting paid now, you're going to say, "Hey, what, hey, will you take, well, how much? 15%.
20% less. You're going to do that.
Some guys are getting, you know, you're going to get a million dollars a game.
So you're going to say, "Hey, can we take off 10 games? We're going to take away 10 million dollars." These players are like, "We don't have to play in these games. We still get paid. So don't blame us, although we do blame you.
But I don't think anybody's going to sign up to let's play 72 games.
“Therefore, you know, is the minimum of postseason awards going to be 55 games?”
Is Steve saying that he thinks players will play in more games if I take away 10 games? They're still going to load management, Steve. Yeah, Paul. This is a really frustrating thing. But a fan hearing it just gets crazy.
Steve played her from 88 to 2003. He was one of the last generation of guys who generally played 80 to 82 games. Why with the modern medicine and technology and hydration and food?
Can't guys play 75 plus?
Why?
I would like for Steve to address that.
Just say, "Hey, this is the reason why I don't think you get private planes.
“I think the NBA is trying to do a pretty good job with back to backs.”
Trying to mitigate uncomfortable awkward travel moments. But everything's at your fingertips. Health wise, these are better condition athletes. I mean, we love to talk about how they're better athletes. But then those guys who smoke cigarettes and drank beer after games.
Those guys were able to play. I'm not quite sure I understand what Steve is saying. That 10 games is going to make that much of a difference. If 10 games means players will still continue to play the number of games they're playing. And we're down to 72.
Okay. You know, baseball talked about this. Going back to 154.
I think you could go back 154 and nobody would notice.
It wouldn't be a big deal. But you got to tell me, why are you doing that? These TV contracts, salaries are based off of 82 games. 162 games.
“So, no, it's not a popular opinion by Steve.”
And look, he's not afraid to say it. But I can't imagine you're going to go back to these owners and these players. As associations say, hey, by the way, we want to reduce salaries. Hey, but the good news is you don't have to play in 10 more games. Okay.
If I'm a player, I'm like, well, I don't have to play in those games. If I don't want to, nobody's forcing me. Yes, Mark. If you think the perception of the NBA is bad now, imagine if they went down 10 games. Wait, you barely play 70 games.
You want 72 games? Yeah. I know it's hypothetical, but if you told the fans, we'll drop to 70 games and everybody plays all 70. They tried to play all 70, which is not possible. Everyone would sign up for that.
If you know what you're getting, that's a problem. You don't know what you're getting tonight tonight. Well, they can say we're trying to play in as many games. But you have coaches who rest their players. So, I mean, everybody's complicit on this because I got to have my players ready for the playoffs.
And I understand this. I go back to a great pop of it. It wasn't popular, but it certainly was effective. Hey, we don't have to have the best record. I want Tim Duncan and Manu and Tony Parker rested for the postseason. And I get it.
His job is to win championships. And he did that. Now, it's just a different athlete now. Because you can say, well, Michael Jordan wouldn't do it. So, how a modern day Michael Jordan would be.
I assume he would as competitive he would want to play or Isaiah or magic or Larry. I don't know. But I do know that these players, if they are better conditioned and treated better, paid better, offseason staying in shape. Like all of these things, that should factor in to them playing more games than less games.
Yes, more.
“Do you think some of these guys will end up regretting not playing in all the games they could've played?”
Because like you said earlier talking about the Kelsey's retiring. When it's over, it's over. Michael Jordan, I think he'd give up half of his fortune to be healthy and play one full season of NBA basketball again. So, do you think those guys that are playing now and low managing will have regrets about not playing all the games they could've? No.
No. No. Because you can play more season so you're going to make more money. Now, unless it's individual numbers where you want to get to a certain milestone, other than that, I don't think they're going to look back and regret. Man, I should've played that game in Cleveland and I sat that out.
Yeah, Paulie. I was just taking a look because Anthony Edwards of the Timberwolves, he has a reputation of playing. He's not a load management guy. He's young, he's healthy. But he's averaging 79 starts per season over the past five years. And that's cool.
But that's an anomaly. Yeah, but I wonder how long that's going to take or, you know, that allows. I mean, it's great. You want to be able to go see the Timberwolves and you want to be able to go see him. And, of course, Rudy go there.
But I didn't mean to laugh like that. I'm sorry. That's for you. Yes, Paul. Six years ago last night was Rudy Goberre, Licking the microphones and his hands, the day before the NBA season closed up.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Cameron and Indiana, hey, Cameron. Look, hey guys, that's been going. So I just got a couple of things for you.
So I first off, if I'm 73 and nine, I'm going to advocate for shorting.
You seem to have no one can be directed then, all live in the NBA history for that.
Secondly, I'm the player.
I'm putting up all the points and stats that I came.
“I'd rather be a number to be close to Hall of Famers than somebody who just steps low advantages.”
I, you know, once again, I'm old school and I would want to play as much. But, you know, he got a factor in today's athlete and they're approached to this. And if you could play less games, more seasons, more money, they're going to look at this as a business person. And I can't, I can't be grudge them for that. If you would have said, hey, Larry Bird's going to play less, but he's going to play three more seasons.
I would sign up for that. Or Steve Nash, some of these players who their careers were cut short, but they would try to play in at least 75 to 80 games. Yes, Marvin. But I think with Larry Bird, I'm not sure if the amount of games that he played, it's how he played. You see all these montage of him running into the crowd and diving and hurting his back while doing that.
So if he had played differently, I think it's different than the amount of games.
Maybe, maybe. But that, you know, when people look at his career, they're like, I thought he played longer.
Same thing with Steve Nash. These guys were on the sidelines. You know, Nash would be getting stretched on the sidelines when he'd come out of a game. Yeah, Mar. Imagine Johnson and Larry Bird played 11 and 12 years. It felt like they're impacting the NBA, it felt like they played for 20 years.
But they only played 11 and 12 years, really. Matt and Ohio, high Matt, what's on your mind today. Hello, guys. How are we doing? Great Matt. Good. A couple things for you.
“I believe when you guys win that sports Emmy, you should mount it on the hood of your vehicle.”
And just make it up not just and make sure everybody knows.
And secondly, I am willing to go to New York when that time comes.
And not only hold a sign, but go straight John Q sack, boom box over my head, and hopefully it's raining that day. All right. Well, thank you, Matt. Let me appreciate the loyalty. Yeah, I can't invite the audience to join us in New York for the night of the sports Emmys if we get nominated. To then go out and celebrate with us. But I would like to. Yes, if there happened to be a spontaneous gathering of like a meetup of our fans there that we in no way.
You know, organized, but it just naturally happened. Let's see if we could we take off. If we win this sports Emmy, can we take off the next day? Oh, no. No, we got to take a victory level. Okay. Hey, talk about. I just because we'd be out late.
I just want to make sure I understand what your guys, you know, motives would be mine is I'm showing up every day. Super Bowl. You guys are going to show up as well. Oh, yeah. Oh, okay, without question. Make sure you talk.
Come on. I'm talking to Todd.
“It's not just a victory level. So the worst thing you could do after winning the Emmys to mail it in and then take the day off.”
What would that be saying to the Academy and the voters Academy? I agree. I'd like to have a parade. I'd like to have a parade. Thank the whole round of applause. First we get nominated.
But if we win, we come in wearing the same things we wore the night before. That could be nothing. Why are the wire? Yeah. Could be, you know, wild night there on the bus coming back.
Just, you know, the last time we went in and I said to everybody, look, all supply beers here. Just know that there's no bathroom here. Well, Tyler's drinking like a sailor. Next thing I know we're about 45 minutes outside of New York City.
And he is just, you know, like when your kids are trying to cross their legs and they're dancing and holding themselves. And Tyler, because I really got to go. I said, well, we're on the, like, the parkway here. Like I said, there's no rest stops here. I know, but I really got to go.
So we get the bus driver to pull over and then Tyler runs under a bridge. Like, it felt like a quarter of a mile away. And then he came back. He was like, thank you. Thanks so much.
I said, Tyler, you can't have four beers on the way down here. And then not have to go. And he goes, I didn't know there'd be traffic. I said, it's New York. It's New York during rush hour.
Oh, my god. Yeah. So maybe no alcohol going down.
Maybe maybe we're just alone with our thoughts.
We get ready. You know, it's like Hoosiers, you know, when they were getting ready to play for the championship. Very quiet. Maybe a prayer. Maybe a few prayers.
We'll take all that we can get.
“We got to get nominated first. When are the nominees out?”
Usually the first few days of April is announced.
Oh. Yeah. I dread those days, man. Does I say, Pauli, today? No, not today.
All right. Last call for phone calls. What? We learn what's in store tomorrow. All of that when we return.

Hillary opens up about complicated family dynamics, motherhood,
and releasing our first record in over 10 years.
We talk about what it's taken to grow up in the entertainment industry and stay grounded through every chapter. It's a raw and honest conversation about identity, evolution, and building a life that truly matters. You desire in family like this picture.
And that's not reality, a lot of the time it's for people. My sister and I don't speak. It's definitely a very painful part of my life. And I hope it's not forever, but it's for right now. Listen to on purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts. In 2023, a story gripped the UK of looking horror and disbelief. The nurse who should have been in charge of caring for tiny babies is now the most prolific child killer in modern British history. Everyone thought they knew how it ended.
A verdict, a villain, a nurse named Lucy Leppi. Lucy Leppi has been found guilty. But what if we didn't get the full story? A moment you look at the whole picture in the case, collapses. I'm Amanda Knox, and in the new podcast doubt, the case of Lucy Leppi,
we follow the evidence and hear from the people that lived it. To ask what really happened when the world decided who Lucy Leppi was. No voicing of any skepticism are doubt. It'll cause so much harm at every single level of the British establishment of this is wrong. Listen to doubt, the case of Lucy Leppi, on the iHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
I'm like, "Lord, this can't be real. I thought it was a mistaken identity." The best lie is partial truth. For 22 years, only two people knew the truth.
Until a confession changed everything. I was a monster. Listen to burden of guilt season 2 on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
“The last call for phone calls, what we learn, what's in store tomorrow?”
I got some information here. Steve Kerr, warrior, said, "Code said, you know what? Everybody could benefit if we played 10 less, 10 fewer regular season games." The NBA, if you go back to the 2011-2012 lockout, the regular season was 66 games.
And most people felt that the players felt better. The basketball was better, better rested, and feedback from the fans was positive as well. If you start to look at the number of games that these players play now, I'll go back to the 2008, let's see, 2009, Celtics. They played in 106 games winning the title.
The Mavericks in 2010-103, then it was the Heated 88.
They hit at 105. These are teams that won the title. San Antonio in 14-105, Golden State 103, Golden State in 2016-106. Cleveland 100. So you go down the list. You're playing in right around 100 games if you win the championship. So that's total regular season in the postseason.
You could take away 10 games and I wouldn't miss those 10 games.
The problem is the players are going to want that money.
The owners are going to want something for the money that they're spending, the salaries, and then the networks are going to want these players to play. I don't know how you convinced everybody. Hey, for the good of the game, you take less money, you can pay less money. I mean, the owners might say, look, I got, you know, you're taking away four or five home games here.
You know, the executives, they're spending billions of dollars. This is 11-year contract, billions of dollars.
“I don't know, and how do you say that to the NBA player's association as well?”
So take away 10 games, on fine with it. You take away 10 for major league baseball, on fine. I'm okay with all of that, but there are a lot of people who wouldn't be. Yeah, Paul. I wonder if someone could look at this and say if the NBA went to 70 games, but in those 70 games, everybody's playing, and they get rid of the stigma of load management that they'll end up
making more money because fans will tune back in for the next generation. Long-term play. Yeah, these players today don't care. They're not going to care about the long-term play. They, it's about them.
They're, they're on teams, but they're individuals here. And I think they look at it that way. How about this day in sports history, Paul? Yeah, this day in soft sports history, Dan, 1941, the Brooklyn Dodgers. They announced their players would start wearing batting helmets during the 1941 season.
You called them soft. So off, that's how it starts. Next thing you know, we have load management. Yeah, next thing you want face mask on your goalies, you know? Yeah.
If an edge count started right there. Here's one, 1976.
“Texas Tech Sports Information Director Ralph Carpenter.”
He became famous for the first use of this phrase.
The opera ain't over until the fat lady sings. Wow. That was 1976. Texas Tech Ralph Carpenter. The opera ain't over until the fat lady sings.
Now, we shortened it to an a and over until the fat lady sings. It took the opera out of the equation there. Yes, time. And what can we say now, weightly challenge? How does that work now?
You shouldn't even refer to that phrase. I guess at all. Big bone. The operain over until the big bone lady sings. That seems safer.
Oh, the other thing. Husky? Garrett in Wisconsin.
Or no, it's Darrell in Wisconsin.
Hi, Darrell. Hey, Dan. Did you know that Owen Wilson appeared opposite crime, Reese with her spoon and legally blonde? Luke did.
That was, that was, that was, yeah, you're right. That was Luke. Luke did. I thought I could help you. It's our whole for an hour.
Yeah, and he's going to tell me, prime, Reese withishment. That was Luke. Yeah. Trip and Vegas. Oh, yeah.
Yeah. Trip. Good morning, Dan. I was going to talk with y'all. What's the race?
I was thinking with the race this weekend in Las Vegas. I wanted to get back to a gift that keeps on giving. They also have our yearly race at Krapinsburg State. It would be the, uh, is the Dukelax, 2200s. And the main reason for the pit stops is access to the exhaust and rear end noise.
And when leading the pit, you try to avoid skid marks are coming outside ways. And once again, the race finished with a complete wipeout. I got you by the way. Thank you, trip. Thank you.
Appreciate that. Final result. So the poll question. Oh, brother, what a day for poll questions. Who had the best day yesterday, Malik Willis?
“Uh, which is the better movie wedding crashes or old school old school was leading right now?”
Uh, whose career would you want Luke or Owen Wilson, Owen Wilson is crushing Luke? Absolutely dominating and like brother should. Um, the, uh, Raiders are they silver and back? Uh, no. No, they're not.
And canceling Magic City night was at smart or lame. It was lame according to our audience. Todd, would you learn today? Ryan and Detroit go sock shoe socks shoe when getting dressed.
That's very disturbing to me.
Uh, sweeten.
“Yes, socks shoe socks shoe is psychopath.”
Yeah, that is weird. Marvin.
You're ready to give up on paradise.
Yeah, I've tried three episodes. Pauli, would you learn? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Thanks for joining us.
“Our pleasure to serve you for all of the luminaries here.”
