as still God knows where. But she'll come back at some point. For now, Riley and I will try to get you through a few of the big developments of the past 24 hours. What do you got, Riley?
Well, starting with the mixed bag of primary results from yesterday, there were of course primaries in several states, which yielded it mixed results for Donald Trump's influence within their Republican Party
“as endorsed candidates secured key victories”
and was constant in Alabama, while my pillow founder, Mike Lindell, fell short in Minnesota. Boo hoo. South Carolina's GOP Senate primary, Trump back to Senator.
Trump back, Darlene Graham, placed first to advance
to a runoff against a representative Ralph Norman. Democratic voters demonstrated a firm stance against federal immigration enforcement by elevating progressively Lieutenant Governor Penny a flanagan of a representative Angie Craig in Minnesota's Senate
primary. Additionally, Democrats showed a strong appetite for generational change as younger candidates outstead long serving incumbents, like 78-year-old representative John Larson and Connecticut,
even as moderate David Crowey narrowly defeated progressive challenger Francesca Hong in Wisconsin's a gubernatorial race. Yeah, he's pretty into. But it's definitely good for there
to be some generational change.
Let's see, let's say the coverage of this, the analysis of this really lived up to the high expectations we've got, of coverage of these kind of things. You may recall last week when Dr. Abdul Al-Sayed
won a narrow victory in Michigan. The headlines were progressive victory in Michigan is very narrow. Bad news for the progressives. And then in Wisconsin yesterday
where Crowey won a narrow victory over Hong, the headline was moderate victory over the progressives. Very narrow. Bad news for the progressives, huh? I don't understand.
“I think the main trend, actually if you were gonna look at it,”
is that in Michigan and in Wisconsin roughly half of the voters voted for extreme reform candidates. And that's new. It says that roughly half the Democratic electorate is demanding change. And frankly, Crowey is also a forward leaning person,
flanagan and Minnesota forward leaning. The Democratic party is moving. It's evolving. But the other message out of this was, even though another hotly contested primary,
for example, Wisconsin, immediately, immediately, Hong embraced Crowley, the whole Democratic party embraced Crowley. And strong candidates everywhere were showing that they were focused on winning and November,
including the Democratic nominee for governor in Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar. So we move closer to closer than November elections. Dem seemed to have plenty of momentum, plenty of change, plenty of new faces,
and a real commitment to winning. Our Republicans seemed to still be a bit of a hodgepodge. Of course, it's not helped that the president's traveling around the world and a catering truck. But we'll get to it.
Speaking of, President Trump confirmed he secretly snuck off Air Force One in an airport catering container following a summit in Turkey, boarding a secondary plane due to a credible threat from Iran, while the primary jet served as a decoy.
Although Trump downplayed the personal danger, as well as the potential risks to the staff and reporters left on the decoy aircraft, acknowledged following the security protocol directed by the military and secret service.
Yes, President Jeffrey Tainley is decoy plans for covert war zone visits, secured experts highlighted that concealing a commander-in-chief's true air abouts from the public and press corps for weeks afterward is entirely unprecedented.
Yeah, also concealing that they are on a decoy plane from the people on the decoy plane is unprecedented. I wasn't really aware that the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court,
“the secret service had the authority to just determine who's lives”
where we're going to put up for grabs to protect the President of the United States. Of course, also interestingly, on the container truck with Trump were Natalie Harp, the woman who follows him around telling him how wonderful he is.

the surfer room at Mara Logo and was in legal trouble
“for that for a while, and dance could be.”
In other words, Mara Ferubio, no, Steven Miller, no. They were on the decoy plane with the reporters. Overall, any incredibly embarrassing incident and of course Trump is blaming it on somebody else. And Iran immediately came out with a very pithy
Lego video on making fun of him for it. And so this morning, he put out a true social saying, "We are in complete control of the state of "Hormous Iran has no cards." Of course, if they had no cards,
he wouldn't be hiring, hiding in the catering container.
And if we had complete control of the state of Hormous,
there would actually be traffic flowing through it, which there is not. And the Iranians and the Iranians would not be working out the deal that they are going to announce in which they will charge for the traffic through the straight.
Overall, every single day, the war in Iran looks like a bigger mess.
“Are you going to do the story about the USS Abraham Lincoln?”
- That one did not make it in, so now is the time to-- - That was the time to get down. - Well, I won't break it down at great length, except that it has been revealed that near mutiny on this, one of the world's most advanced aircraft carriers,
the crew has been pleading to go home,
threatening to jump off the ship, conducting themselves in a way because they're stuck there. Their tour is longer than it should be. They haven't had the kind of racians that they're supposed to have, the foods, supposedly, a real serious situation there.
And it just goes to show these shit show in the Department of Defense continues. Illegal wars, war crimes, insane budgets for projects that nobody wants, unbelievable mismanagement,
“pleading, vital reserves, alienating allies, strengthening”
our enemies, this is the low point. In Department of Defense, management ever, ever, ever, Pete Hedsett, the worst secretary of defense in the history of secretaries of defense. Since he wants to be called secretary of war
and there were secretaries of war, before there were secretaries of defense, I will add that to the list. He is also the worst secretary of war in the history of U.S. secretaries of war.

As far as these groups being rogue groups, they're acting with the blessing of the Netanyahu government or people within the Netanyahu government and the abuses in the West Bank are resulting in deaths, resulting in illegal land seizures, resulting in absolute terrible situation.

- Absolutely terrible situation. The U.S. is not standing up to them.
This is happening all the while that in Gaza, people are continuing to die and not getting humanitarian aid, and we don't appear to be any closer to progress in Gaza as the president indicated we were just a week ago. - Well, some good news.
A federal judge blocked the U.S. Postal Service
“from implementing a key provision of President Trump's executive order”
that threatened to stop delivering mail-in ballots for states failing to supply eligible voter lists. U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani expanded an earlier regional ruling into a nationwide injunction, determining that the executive branch lacks the constitutional authority
to regulate state-run elections.
While voting rights advocates praised the decision
for preventing election chaos ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, the White House defended the policy as the administration seeks a Supreme Court review. - Yeah, the administration does the illegal things, courts over rule it, they keep doing it anyway.
They hope the Supreme Court fixes it for them. And when the Supreme Court doesn't, then they find a new way to come back at it and repeat themselves. Yeah, this is the right decision.
It was good news to the extent to which it actually takes. But with this administration, it's absolute commitment to cutting democracy off at the knees here in the United States. I'd expect more bad news to come in the wake of this good news.
And I am not, Riley, going to breathe a sigh of relief just yet.
- Well, I've got to rare a second good story right after that one.
So let's say you're a wild and crazy guy. OK, yes, go on. Is this our last story? - This is our last story. U.S. Consumer inflation is slowed in July
to 3.4% year over year as falling prices for groceries and gasoline help offset increases in rent and airfare. Core inflation, which strips out volatile food and energy costs, also ticked down to 2.5% signaling a positive momentum for the federal reserves fight against rising prices.
Relatively, tame report led investors to lower the odds of a September interest rate hike to below 40%.
“Well, OK, do we believe statistics out of the administration?”
- Not so sure. Do we think that the things that are driving these prices up like the war are going to, you know, head in a right direction, not so sure? Will prolonging the conflict in the Middle East
also lead to higher food prices in the fall? - Yeah. - Could bad weather contribute to that? - Yeah, could. Could these be revised upward?
- Yeah. - Is the president secretly talking to the head of the Fed and there are already questions about his autonomy? - Yeah, apparently the president is already doing that. - So, Riley, while I know you're bending over backwards
to make us all a little bit happier here in the middle of all this, I gotta say, I'm taking these good news stories with a grain of salt.
“Am I a cynic, maybe, but I'm not new to this here, town?”
