DSR Daily Live July 24: DoD Changes Death Total as Iran Rejects Ceasefire

going to go through the news today, and because it's alive, if you've got comments or questions,

“you can feed them into us. Why don't we, so who's starting, which one of you guys has started?”

We're starting us this morning. Starting with the doozy, the U.S. did a partman of defense officially lowered the Iran War troop death toll from 18 to 14, attributing the change to temporary technical data disruptions. However, internal military sources reported that the four deaths were omitted because they occurred after President Trump declared an April ceasefire, drawing severe backlash from bipartisan lawmakers. Pentagon spokespeople vehemently denied these

allegations as fake news insisting that the site errors were purely technical and are actively

being resolved. I mean, it's one of the more disgusting things that they have done in recent

“past Donald Trump. Obviously obsessed with numbers. Remember, back during COVID, when he”

didn't let a ship with people who had COVID land because he thought it would upset our statistics, sent a message to somebody, "Hey, let's not count these people." It wasn't officially a war. Needless to say, the families of those who sacrificed their lives on behalf of the country were deeply disturbed by this. There's a lot of criticism from Democrats and Congress. And of course, Republicans on the Hill were more or less mute because whenever kind of depredations they get from

this government, they simply accept anyway. I suspect this one is going to be corrected sometimes soon because it is so outrageous and even as we speak opposition and criticism for this act is growing everywhere on every possible platform. Well, in other news, that is not particularly good. The U.S. Trade Representative announced new 10% to 12.5% tariffs under section 301 on 60 trading partners, including Canada, the UK, Taiwan and the European Union, to replace President Trump's

expiring temporary tariff. The administration justified the new levies by claiming these

“partners a fail that to adequately enforce bands on forced labor imports, irrational key allies”

strongly reject all the tariffs apply. Broadly, exemptions have been granted for key goods such as certain foods, autos, pharmaceuticals, and specific fuels and fertilizers affected by the war in Iran. There's so desperate to impose tariffs that they are now pulling laws out of nowhere to try to

do at 80 countries as a big deal. And of course, doing it right now is insane. First of all,

everybody knows tariffs don't work. Secondly, and we have 100 years of experience with this. Secondly, the people who pay the tariffs are you and me, you know, average Americans. And we're all going to the polls in four months. What does that mean? Or three months? A logist? I don't know. It's not it's soon. And so what does that mean? It means that voters who are ready bearing high prices for oil and high prices for gasoline and higher prices for food are going to have to pay higher

prices on products from these 80 countries. Remember, they just did a big tariff on the Canadians the other day. They did a big tariff on the Brazilians the other day. There's going to be a lot of stuff that's going to cost a lot more. This is political suicide. And it's why yesterday, you know, a bunch of new polls came out that showed in the generic ballot, the Democrats up six, seven, eight, nine, and a one case in Emerson poll, 11%. So Democrats got an 11% edge in voter turnout

over the Republicans in November. They will have major majorities in the House and they will have a good chance at a working majority in the US Senate. And I say this even though I know that yesterday John Fetterman, the former Democrat who is a complete lunatic at this point voted for the Republicans on a key vote. So we're at a pivotal point. And this is a bad decision on an economic basis, a bad decision on our foreign relations, basis, a bad decision on a political basis.

And therefore it's completely consistent with everything else we're getting from these folks.

Kennedy Jr.'s recent addition of eight new committee members, six of whom have sold peptide products themselves while proponents contend that broader access will shift consumers away from risky gray market alternatives. Medical experts argued the process compromise a scientific standards to advance commercial interest at the expense of public health. And I already know what you're

going to say about this David because you like your drugs experimental. I know I like, you know, I sometimes I don't even look and see what I'm taking. I just like taking drugs. Just out of

“my bag. Just yeah, no, it's remember back in the day they used to have what they called farm”

parties where you'd go and people kids would just go and dump their drugs into a bowl and then

people would just take whatever was in there. I was always looking for the I vermectin or

horse tranquilizers that kind of thing because you know what what makes a better day. But the you know the the thing that's most outrageous here and you really it there's a kind of a competition between two is just how compromised the processes become. You know it's corrupt people who go and sell these things around the panel who you know approve these things. And it's consistent with the corruption everywhere you look in the government. You know there was another

story yesterday that of the people who donated to the ballroom. Half of them have benefited from

“new government contracts since then and those new government contracts are worth 50 billion dollars.”

In other words they're not donating money to the ballroom in order to help you know preserve

an American institution or to create a new one. They're donating money to the ballroom because that gets them in good with Trump and Trump writes a note to somebody and they get a contract. This is totally transactional and you know we'll talk about other areas where it's totally transactional. You know the other side of this which is also outrageous is of course the number of doctors who think that you know taking peptides doesn't work or is not good for you.

And that's consistent with the views of the RFK junior HHS on vaccines where you know they they you know they've changed the website so that if you go and look at the website on vaccines it says you know there's no proof that vaccines don't cause autism and kids so you know be careful which is just outrageous and you know they firing scientists there in their war on science and it's just a race between the war on science and the rampant corruption to create the worst

possible outcomes but when you got them both going on we're screwed. I'm sorry to interrupt but I really have to tell you about our sub-stack. “on what's going on over there. I think this is lifetime and climate guarantee.”

Yeah, pretty much. I think my job is quite secure. American forces last a 13th consecutive wave of strikes on Iranian targets following Tehran's rejection of a U.S. ceasefire proposal signaling no immediate end to the hostilities. The continued fighting and recently attacks on Saudi oil tankers drove global oil prices up to $100 a barrel amid growing fears of shipping blockades in the Red Sea and straight-of-war moves. Domestically, Senate Republicans blocked a house

approved resolution that would have required President Trump to obtain a congressional authorization to continue military operations in the war. Yeah, that was the vote that Fetterman voted with

war that literally nobody thinks is a good idea or allies don't think it's a good idea.

I mean, well, I guess there's some people who do think it's a good idea in Iran because while they're being battered every day, their leverage grows over the United States, the negotiations are going nowhere. And the prices of oil are going up, but they of course are selling oil. The Russians love this price of oil going up there in a financial crisis. So, you know, the one thing they sell,

“you know, is doing best. And remember, we lifted sanctions on a bunch of these people”

so that we could reduce the oil crisis. And, you know, it's achieving no strategic goal when

Pete Heidseeth was in front of the Congress this week. He was confronted. What's the goal? What's the

plan? He didn't have a plan. He said, "How dare you ask such a question?" Well, you know, of course he was offended because they don't have a plan. And, you know, this is going to drag on for a while now because Trump seems to have gotten in. It's had that he can somehow do what he's been doing for the past five months, only louder. And, and it's going to have the effect that it hasn't had for the past five months. What's it going to take? It's really unclear. Oil at a

much higher price, worse poll results here in the United States, some big donor of his taken

“emicide and saying, "Buddy here, making a big mistake here." Some big attack in which American”

troops lose a lot a lot. I don't know what it is. But we haven't hit the trigger point that is going to produce from Trump's one and only result that makes sense, which is just stopping. It's time to cut your losses. And as frustrating as that may be, you know, you had a chance to negotiate a deal. You sent people who didn't understand how to negotiate a deal. They came back with a bad deal. You're not going to get better than the deal they came back with. So,

we're in a very, very bad place on this. And I know that the main goal of the administration will be to distract your attention from it because, you know, the president's frozen on a bad approach to a bad policy. Well, we have one more story for the day. Actually, for the week, happy Friday,

“and the Saturday will time to you. We're going to further describe the bad place, bad situation”

that we're in. And then you're free to go and have a good, being a good place. Okay, I was about to go myself. So, you know, yes, please. All right, President Trump announced that a landmark U.S. Saudi civilian nuclear cooperation agreement explicitly prohibits Saudi Arabia

from enriching uranium, emphasizing that the multi-billion dollar deal is strictly contingent

upon re-adjoining the Abraham Accords to normalize ties with Israel. Formally signed by U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright in the Saudi Energy Minister, the bilateral framework establishes long-term nuclear safeguards, and will be submitted for congressional review pursuant to the Atomic Energy Act. Yeah, look, this was clearly a deal that was percolating. It was percolating, by the way, during the Biden administration, it got off the table.

Trump wants, you know, to keep the Saudis on side with him in the midst of this war. They wanted something. So, he said, well, why don't we give them this or Jared said, why don't we give them this? I would point out that the Trump organization and Jared's organization have lots of business activities going on in Saudi Arabia. And so, a lot of people see giving them this as a quick pro quo. Per the terms that were announced a couple of days ago,

the issue of enrichment was left open for future decision. And it's unclear with that that has been changed and writing. Similarly, the issue of joining the Abraham Accords was not in the terms that were announced the other day. And Trump has added this after the fact that the Saudis are like, well, I don't know. Because, of course, the difference between the Biden administration talking about this deal with entering the Abraham Accords is part of it normalization of relations

with Israel, is that the Biden administration negotiations broke down. They were about to take place. They broke down on October 7, a couple years ago when Hamas attacked Israel, because Israel then responded with big attacks and Gaza, you know, over the top attacks that turned

we're going to recognize these people in the wake of those attacks or in the wake of further

“annexations in the West Bank or in the wake of their attacks in Lebanon, which continue,”

which have them having, you know, destroyed a substantial part of the housing stock in southern Lebanon. So, you know, normalizing with Israel as tough when Israel is not behaving in anything like in normal way. And so, you've now got this thing, which was probably motivated by corrupt reasons that has had the terms change a couple of times in a couple of days, which is pretty common with

Trump, because he realizes what he's forgotten, that has the Saudis on their backfoot saying,

we want of the nuclear normalization, but not this way, and has the Congress up in an uproar,

“because they haven't been consulted, they have to be consulted. So, this is, again, a screw-up”

related to the screw-up of the Iran war, and I would encourage you to go and listen to our deep state radio that we did with Edloos and Max, boot the other day in which we talked about this, because one of the things that is not being discussed with war is that it's consequences may

spread. This may not just be what we've seen for the past five months. This week, we saw the

hoodies blocking traffic and going after traffic that was going up through the Red Sea to the Suez Canal. That could not only produce the escalation that we've seen in costs for oil and so forth and

“a spread of the war, but it also puts things like the Horn of Africa into play, which is strategic”

and that, which is something we'll talk about on the podcast next week in Greater Dev, that could be a spreading of this war. And so, you've got potential geographic spread of the war. You've got the situation in Lebanon and a big mass. You've got the situation with the relations with each one of the Gulf states, you know, in some flux. You've got Iran gaining ground. It's, you know, you've got oil prices going up. You've got the global economy in shock, etc. etc.

This is one of those creeping crises that, as bad as it was yesterday or as bad as it was last week, promises to be worse next week, promises to be worse with each succeeding week, because not just bad leadership, but inevitable unintended consequences of this ill-considered and illegal act. Anyway, you're right, man. It's the weekend and we're going to go about our our normal duties and we will hopefully get a little bit of a break and then starting next week.
