The rewatchable is described by the ringer podcast network where you can find...

late in like 17 ringer podcasts. You can find me in a cimes. She's on ESPN. She talks football, catching her in July, probably the last time we ever see her before the NFL Swalls Europe.

He got like a month left. I'm doing the fantasy show to talk about the highest quarter pegs, so we're unveiling the hottest quarterbacks of the NFL.

What are you like, max and magazine, the mid 2000s?

Jimmy's only retired and we're like, well, who's number one now? I have to take your picture. I'm tired. I'm holding off of my takes and still have a couple of years left. I see.

You know, what is he like, 34, 35? Kicking around. I don't know if he's in a position. Well, we'll Smith was 37 when he did hitch. He looks so much younger to me.

And we are going to cover that one next. So, the last time the three of us got together, we did crazy stupid love. A 2010 round come. This is a 2005. Yeah.

We'll Smith is 37 years old. It's at the end of a 15-year round come boom, right, which he's starting with, like, one Harry Metzow in '89, we're ripping through. Like Ryan's basically done with this, Julie Roberts is done, Drew Barrymore, we're with her spoon.

We're kind of, kind of, the tail end and yet here comes hitch and it's the most successful round come of all time to that point. So why? What happened? Will Smith.

I mean, what makes this a rare round come in the round come pantheon and I think

it belongs there? Mm-hmm. Obviously, financially it is. It's not about the women. Even men is good in it.

We'll talk about that. I think straight in it. There aren't that many huge round comes where we think about the guy, actually crazy to people that I was kind of up there, too, right, because I was link.

But Will Smith is an incredible round come actor and his chemistry is what makes this movie

sing. It would not. I think be nearly as good if it was any of it that Will Smith is starting real. In the only other time he really tapped into this was focus. Also a great movie.

Sneakly. First round come. Focus, not a round come, but it's like we've already done it on rewatchers, but same kind of thing. None of that.

Why not Van? Why not more? You just wanted to be an outer space or be the last man left on earth. Think it's like, I think it's tricky as a black male lead in round comes. I'm going to talk about that when we talk about some of the politics behind the movie.

I don't know if it's like as easy for the black male lead to do the round come because of some of the dynamics behind the racial play and stuff like that that they comes into it. You know, that happened going back to the 80s when they wouldn't let Eddie Murphy kiss anybody basically for every movie he was in, finally until boomerang. But then that was like an all black cast basically.

Right. And that's an amazing round come with beautiful black people and it's not regard. It's not one of Eddie Murphy's gigantic hits. It's like people a lot of times in that they don't want to see that.

That's not something that people are always readily like it's not accessible to them.

But for will, it puts you kind of in a kind of a fucked up situation. Because if you do the movie with a white woman, then you piss the sisters off. Right. And it comes like what like what are you doing, right? If you do it with a black lady, then maybe audiences don't go to see it.

And at that point, that's the furthest thing from by the way, that's in the research. Yeah. Yeah. They basically the conundrum at this was he was a global superstar, but an all black cast for a round come would not have been a global.

When I read about that and the decision to make it, if Amanda is to kind of split the difference. I was thinking about how, you know, the episode of the studio where they're casting the cool lady movies. And literally, when they were making hitch, I can imagine them putting up the faces on the board and suggesting, how would an Asian actress do we know any Latinos?

And then being like, all right, well, she kind of splits the difference. But I think you're on to, like, why isn't Will Smith who's amazing in round comes.

I close to his best self, I think, in this particular style movie, why isn't he in more?

It seems financial to me, right, because this guy was so deliberate about only wanting to be in the big, until I did some more to accept the biggest blockbusters. And because of Ron comes in the politics he talked about, he was limited in that particular genre. I am legit and after Earth and on these other ones are just going to make way more money.

Yeah. And that's it. And Will Smith, like, pretty famously, studied all of the most successful movies about time. I was like, I have to do this.

I have to have a big action movie. I get to get out of space and Ron's calm was not on the list. And it's a big end. And it's a big end. Yeah.

It's been for me a $370 million, but it's interesting that they had to basically walk

through the science of how to attack this was little like the Paul George trade now.

It's going to work out for themselves.

There you go.

How can we get to use the advanced metrics to really do something?

I don't know if you can. I don't know if you can. I don't know if you can. Oh, it's Cameron Diaz. Right, but the story would have been so good in the series.

So what the difference you basically have to go to Latino or Asian, like, what is there

anything else? You go to Latina. You go to Latina in that situation, that way nobody's pissed off. It does it. And no one's jarred and the movie sales overseas.

What you know is interesting, you know, I thought about this did not in any way hamper the bodyguard. The bodyguard made even more money than he had if it's time drama though. Yeah, drama. The key distinction.

Very key distinction. But still though, the audience, whatever, Kevin Costa just wouldn't have done. He loved her so much on screen in in real life, he had to make the movie. Van and I did buy a card from rewatch, but just the two of us. Right.

Just people, voters have your story. Right. So like, you know, he would have, but in that particular movie, it's also, it's a different story to your, to your point. But like, audiences did accept that black woman, white guy though.

It is different. What's again? Like, love scenes in the Pelican Brief. Taking out the house, that's, that's 90, 92 or 93. Love Field, a movie that was really well regarded, like critically, didn't do that well

commercially because people are not golden child, Eddie Murphy, 1986, they cut the scene. And Charlotte Lewis was a Filipino or Asian, I can't remember what she was. But they, they were like, we can't even do this other than this movie. What interracial rom-com, say, even cross, 100 mil, like, been massive. Well, here's the difference.

Focus comes out in 2014, and it's Will Smith, the Margarabe, and nobody blinks. Yeah. So I think something shifts between the mid 2010s and the mid 2000s, well, there's something. It's about this, but I'm saying, like, nobody, they just make that movie, and she's

the girl from Wolf of Wall Street, and nobody says anything. But in 2005, it's a huge part of the research. I was surprised.

I had never thought of it that they were really like, yeah, if this character is a

black woman, we're not going to make any money overseas.

Like, you have to understand that and we'll Smith, they go through the whole thing.

Do you think that's as true now, where it's like, okay, if this isn't because crazy rich Asians, now one of the most successful rum, like, rum, come to the last decade or so. For years, it was like, well, you just make movie with Asians, nobody's going to watch it. If you just make a movie with that, leave their all black, nobody's going to watch it. Do you think that's changing as well?

I think that changed. Yeah. I just feel like we're the different last 12 years. I would say we're in a different place. Man, we'll be real with you, man.

There are some things that aren't enduring, and if you make a rum, come with a black melody and a white female, you got some historic tunnels to jump. I'm going to just watch the movie and laugh as like, I'm going to have fun, and then I'm going to look at some people I'm watching the movie with, and then you'll be like, "Yo, why isn't that Regina Hawk?"

[LAUGHTER] You're going to be like, you're going to be like, yo, man, it was Nicole Behardy, busy. How come that couldn't have been, I'm not saying anything, well, I'm just saying it, there are certain things about America. But the numbers are the Nickel-Andrea generation.

Maybe. Do you know about Nickel-Andrea? What is it? Wow. Wow.

The most popular love, I live.

No, I think, yeah, you don't see it a lot.

Yeah. And yeah, as Cameron Diaz, there was another actress who they mentioned, Cameron Diaz was the main one, forget who it was. Oh, it was black, actually. When they were kind of split the difference, I think she would have been, I think anybody

would have been good with a little Smith, candidly. I mean, I think that was my main takeaway from rewatching the guy as chemistry. Like a pencil, Kevin James. I mean, he had chemistry with Kevin James. Yeah, I got a lot.

I got a lot of Kevin James. Yeah, I got a lot of Kevin James. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, it's really weird. Classic rom-com structure.

We had the confidence and some guy with all the secrets. We had the goofy awkward guy who's unlucky in love and needs help. We had the smoking hacker who only cares about her job.

That's never time for anything else.

Right. And then the second smoking hat, actress, who's like too good to be true. She's just super wealthy, but can't find love and she's a model and looks like a model. And especially played by a model.

It's like how she can't meet anyone. This is two and 10s. And somehow, all of these things collide into one giant plot, they figured out. I was surprised, Van. This movie Slap's hard.

You're smart. Surprise. Oh, man, come on. I didn't get it. So, when you watch him, do you have any will Smith Oscars back?

Yeah. You watch him. You know? You keep saying this. I'm going to scarred by the will Smith.

This goes to the conversation that we have before. But what? You're, so, you're still scarred by, you're still scarred by.

I just wonder what he's heard.

He's heard like a darkness lurking behind the shadows.

He's a question. Post-slap could he make hitch now? No way. Or any like super, any, because again, hitch works because he's the most likable man on the planet.

Right. Literally. That's what the Oscars pull the way. That's what I'm about. Yeah.

I think he's capable for being the most likable guy in the planet.

He can't like the ability is 99% of why this movie works. Yeah. I agree. I completely agree with you guys. And I understand the reality that for some people will Smith is less likable after

what happened. But it is so difficult for me to fathom how and why. It's not less likable. He was the most likable forever. He was the most likable man on the planet.

But I honestly think a lot of that was already gone. Yeah. That's how I feel. Yeah. That's about to win the Oscar.

Yeah. Yeah.

I think a lot of that was already gone.

Yeah. I think a lot of that was already gone. And also, that's the reason why you shouldn't chase likability. Because it is impossible to maintain. Tom Cruise was the most likable guy ever.

Tom Cruise was the will sped slightly before that. And then do you understand Riddle and Mac is she understand. Right. It's in the sea. It's like you're looking to your glib.

Stand on the glib. The whole nine pimp like laughing talking about. I don't want to hear that. That's yeah. People think that.

Not that's like what are my favorite. Not here. You've seen that, right, Craig? It's. People that is their Tom Cruise.

But he endured. And now. Yeah. I think the same thing can happen for will even though I get how John the Slap is for people.

Tom Cruise argued against the concept of postpartum depression. Matt Lauer. With Matt Lauer. This is a YouTube clip. That exists.

Right.

It's like watching a UFO land.

And he looked lectured. Matt Lauer. I want to say some park where. You know, that's. I'm talking about.

That's. Well, the bigger question to me is how long can. 100% approval rating like a building last. It doesn't. It doesn't.

It's. It's. I feel it now. It takes. I don't feel that.

It's. Clooney. Clooney. I guess. But.

But. But. But. The thing about Clooney is that. If that were.

I do. I like Clooney. I like it. But if that were true, the movies wouldn't be struggling like they are. So like true.

Or he picks bad movies.

Because what you're really talking about is you have to be truly an A.A.

Lister and be super like a. Clooney is not. It was not. It will Smith level. Taylor Swift.

That was. Well, Smith level was. And in terms of that. It's gone. Then she invented Dean Blending.

I don't know. It's hard to maintain that. Like ability when you are truly that famous for your whole career. I think. Because you don't have a normal life.

Yeah. Yeah. Clooney can come and go. You know. We can know what we're really not talking about is.

That type of like ability. It also breeds content. After a while, people will. Number one find somebody new to like. And then once they find somebody new to like.

They're going to find all the reasons not to like you. They kind of compare you to this new person. And then also. Once people have gotten their fill of you. It's just going to look for reasons to hate you.

You know who those who's maintained it. Steph Curry. I think he seems like a genuine person. I think most people like him. I don't, I don't know anybody that doesn't like.

That would be so strange. Somebody's like. Fucking hand step for. It's great. What do you do?

Okay. To go into your question. I didn't. I wasn't saying about this. I bet all.

I did not cut into my brain once. You know. I could separate the art from the artist. I'm like some. No, for me, it what it did was took me back to being.

I wasn't 13 when this movie came out, but I was. The peak will Smith and this is I think the very near the end of like his absolute height as as as as an actor coincided with me being in like middle school and early high school. Yeah. Like that.

It's so generational for me when he was the biggest star on earth. My family would go to the movie theater to see every single one of his films. In the Penn State men in black. I mean. Yeah.

I was coming out like terrible movies too. Like I was in. I think eighth grade when jaguated came out. Which was like laser pointed at like 14 year old white girls living across America. So just watching him.

I just takes me back to being kid and thinking like there's just no stars like this who dominated the landscape the way he did.

Well, that and that's why when I say like I think about the slap and I watch movie

like this now. It's not like the slap itself. It's more like you're watching somebody who had it. Who had it, right? Where he could make a movie like this.

For it's like the script isn't even that good. It's this movie's probably 15 minutes too long. It's all over the place. But it's like he's so likable and right. It's just he's just want to hang with well Smith, which is what every movie

with him was for 20 years. So I was with will from the beginning. Like I'm that old that I'm that old. I'm just old enough to have like witness the inception of Will Smith's career.

From parents just don't understand all the way through the fresh friends all ...

to like hey man bad boys.

This is slightly believable like will could be a badass.

Then independence day will kind of make Larry my glory. And then will becomes the biggest superstar that there is. And you're like whoa, this actually happened before my eyes. But it was one of those things like he was the best pick to become the biggest star from like 1992 on.

You could feel it kind of coming. He was like the number one. He was like paint manning and drifted by the cults where you're like. I started this guy's going to be the number. A rare thing to a TV star becoming a film star doesn't happen.

And we all watched fresh prints. Yeah. For all of us. So like I felt like I clearly was going to leave fresh prints and make movies. Yeah.

For a couple years there and then did that. But bad boys was the moment like oh we're doing this now. Yeah. And then it depends his day and then he's out of here. By the time this comes he's in a run of movies that like he's willing his way through the movies.

Like legitimately like this movie without Will Smith is bad. And to me that is the true measure of like a real movie star. And quarterbacks. What true. The 13 and 3 season when you have like a garbage offensive line and run receiver.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Like who's the Mac Jones to Will Smith's Brock pretty. I don't know. So any other actor coming in in this particular movie and playing this role. Downgrade the movie from an A minus to a C. Who's that?

We should say that Brady had the the greatest NFL mind in the history. So he wasn't like you know. I want to Brady didn't have. Brady never had. Brady never had.

Brady never. No.

Brady never took I robot to the championship.

That was the Essex Pad. Bill Bill. What are you talking about? I have Willie McGinnis and all it was like no. Oh six pads had nobody left and we almost won the Super Bowl.

Like just because of Brady is Kevin James. Kevin James. Kevin James. Kevin James. Incredibly likeable.

I love him so much. That was my biggest takeaway rewatching this for like the fifth time. I was like Kevin James is delightful. was my biggest takeaway rewatching this for like the fifth time. I was like Kevin James is the lifeold this movie.

I think he's always like this in every movie. It's just I don't choose to see a lot of the movies.

I don't want to tell why I want to talk about art. I got to how take your what is it?

Now, Francis. This is now. We can if you want to. You want to wait. No, let's do it now.

Let's do it now. So I have been at a category. Oh, and the category is the Tom Arnold category four. It's the second guy still the movie. And this is named after Tom Arnold's character. True. Last in true lives. Okay. Who does it still the movie, but almost still the movie from a piece of his like he's winning every scene. He wins every scene. In this movie, I could make the determination that when Kevin and Will are on the screen together.

It's this great thing that's happening. But he kind of stealing scenes from Will Smith in this movie. This stuff tells with my most rewatchable scene because I think that take has a lot of heat. And I'm it's the scene the dancing. I don't want to jump ahead. But like the scene where Will Smith teach that dance. Will is being the straight man to the point where you can see Will Smith trying not to laugh. He's like building his hand at his mouth multiple times as Kevin James

does warm in the fire, warm in the fire, making the pizza, making the pizza cute to cute him. And I watching Will Smith react to a guy doing comedic dance, better than Will Smith,

is incredible. Like that never happens. Craig has different Kevin Smith relationships because

grown ups and grown ups too to be honest. That's not true. I've seen every single episode of Camp Queens. Oh, you go away with that. I love Kevin James. Yes. Multiple times from me. She was not for nine years. Yes. It was that from 1998 to 2007. That was like a real like I come home for my family's run and everybody loves Raymond and King of Queens on TBS on repeat. I've seen every episode of Love Kevin James. He's wow. He's really good. When I watch this

movie back, I'll read a bunch of reviews. Everybody's like this movie's not that funny. Every time he's on screen, I think he's hilarious. I'm glad you brought up Tom Arnold because he's like the rich man's Tom Arnold. Yeah. Yeah. He's like the way better version of it, basically. He's so good that I actually

found it almost believable. I ever felt that I would go for him. That's what at the other thing with

this movie, all four people were really good and likable. And the Amber Valetta thing, I don't really understand. Like she was a model before she came in actress. This is easily the most successful thing she was in. She was in some revenge. Yeah. She was in some TV show. And with the other TV show was like blood and oil or something. She had a lot of a bat. This is the biggest one. I think she had

Some, she had some drug outcast stuff when she was a model that she cleaned u...

in this. And then Eva Mendez was another one who ended up having a bunch of problems like two,

three years after this movie. And a bunch of problems. What do you mean? She's talked about it. She had to make a lot of like, oh, what about alcohol stuff? Watching this movie, I texted you if Mendez, I'm trying to think of like an athlete who had to retire early for reasons and you go back

and you watch a performance. That's what it's like. It's like gross or somebody, where the

somebody that got, it just should have been like 10 years of her generation. Right. I have a lot of take, I have a whole category for her later. She's great in this and I think she has real chemistry assessment too. She's really likable in it. It's not, I think she's someone who gets lots talked about mostly in the context of her looks in her career and I get it. Watch this movie. She's thrown on her. But she's a legitimately likable co-star to Will Smith. I think her

character is really fun. Well, and fits the rom-com thing where you can believe she's into her job. Yeah. There's even though she's a smoke show. There's still something that's believable about her not being with anyone. She's a little bit of a mess, but in that traditional rom-com ways. We've kind of, by this time in 2005, we've done every version of these. And I would actually say this is like the end of this whatever era of rom-coms we had. It was now we're moving in like the

appetizer and like those kind of advanced ones like we are, we are the Miller's like movies. Like just like these different that five year engagement, these more elaborate versions. This is like the

more simple. And this person, everybody have a lesson to learn. And they're like, oh, they finally figured

out he's this. And then, oh, we'll get. But, and then we had like, but Valentine's Day,

all those ones that happened. That's one of nine. That's what happened. The, the two years

day, Valentine's Day, the top line with the big stars ended up becoming a movie with like 50 people living. He's just not into you. They figured out there was a couple outliers like the proposals like an old school around com. And I was like 2009. But yeah, I went through all the box office mojos to see if any rom-com was like a major hit after a five and really not like this. This was the 10 biggest movie of 2005. That's crazy. Which we just didn't see again. I mean,

sex in the city, I guess if you count that. I don't think that's a rom-com. I don't like, I don't think so. It's a film sex in the city. But that, that did more money than this. The guy who made this, Andy Tennant has made, I think I've seen because I've seen every rom-com. Even though the one's nobody sees like the Jennifer Lopez mine where she plays in May, I've seen them all. He made, he's the wedding planner. But he made sweet home Alabama,

which is one of the goat rom-coms, obviously. But also like full, he made both fools Russian and fools gold, both of which I've seen, not great. All right. I disagree about fools rushing,

fools rushing. Hey, put away the second. I made on that move. I disagree about fools rushing.

By the way, guy, Matthew Perry. If we talk about, if we're talking about people who, like, athletes who you bought stock in and you thought, like, didn't fill out their meat there, whatever. I can't talk. I legitimately, after seeing fools rushing, thought that he was going to be talking to you. Really. Man, that move. He is. I thought you were going to say that about someone. Well, Amber, we did not have to take. I did a whole Matthew Perry thing that he should be there.

He could have been he is. He should have been the biggest star we had. He is funny in that movie. There's one thing where he gets, he gets in his car, but he jumps out of the car, because the leather burned him and he goes, it's January. It's like 90 degrees, Vegas. He's just, he's just hysterical in that movie. I love that movie. She's beautiful. I love that movie. I love the whole night. You just don't have the sex. To really be a rom-com, carry them.

And this is what I mean, well, some of us have, you have to have sex appeal in addition to being funny and likable. And yeah. Who is your ideal rom-com lead? Who's your all-time? Tom Hanks is sexy? No, no. He is not sexy, but he has sex appeal. Oh, I mean, my wife probably like Matthew Perry. He was just, uh, meaning just wasn't in on him. I guess he's your number one though. Um, okay.

Is it a Marston type of thing, or Marston? No. No. He's like seven dresses. This is very good. Yeah, very to me. Um, yeah. I've had these seen every single one of these. Every single one of them. I'm out of my way for my daughter. And then how much they were watching

them. That's how I could have been. Well, honestly, if you had done more of them, obviously, hey,

she's kind of the famous go of having done some of the biggest ones of all time. Matthew McConaughey, it's pretty good in them. Um, McConaughey is good. He's really good in 10. So what's the move? Okay. How do this guy tend this? Get another move that uses the next. Yeah, I was thinking about that. Let me get to that. Did some research on that one? What's your favorite rom-com ever? Just that I care. I said, man, when were you guys way up there? Um, this is actually pretty high on

The list.

meant to say, I always think of the rom-com not as much about the desirability of the characters,

but the believability of the rom-in-the-com. Yeah. Which is why some of the rom- has to be some calm. There has to be some calm. Like there's a couple of legit funny movies. I'm a high you've got male guy. I know a lot of people. You got males great. I know a lot of people don't dig that one as much, but the, at the end of the movie, if you, you know they're going to get together. The measure of the film is how badly do you want it. Like you,

at the end of you've got male, I am so relieved. Yeah, when they say, yeah. Yeah, when they say, just so into it. That they got together. You grant also, I forgot. Oh, yeah, of course, I submit. Right, you know, uh, for a while, Santa Bullock was the female goat of the rom-coms. She was known, Ryan. She was like in her 40s, so still striking out for you. Yeah, while you were sleeping,

do you guys remember that one? Yeah, classic. Yeah. Um, my, so mine are, does top, my head,

bout last night when Harry mid-Sally, uh, my best friends wedding. Pretty one. It's pretty woman. I guess that counts as a rom-com. What about it? It's a

hundred percent a rom-com. Yes, he, I always think the most successful ones were the most

successful for a reason. They figured out the best that had massive stars in it. She, um, if it's, if it's a three-way female situation is Julia Meg and Sandra Bullock, I feel like Sandra Bullock has a claim to the throne. The, the sleeper one for us, which will never do them rewatchables because my wife's the only one that likes it. It is a lot like love with Ashton Cookshire and Amanda Pete never saw it. I've had, I might have seen that

just through my wife and then my wife and daughter. It's been on my house like 30 times. Ashton Cookshire did no strings attached, or is that just in temporarily? That's just two of these that are exactly the same. That's one of the best ones. But this is when rom-coms when sideways when we started doing the friends' benefits, those strings attached, like they were ideas that

had already happened. Right. They're basically doing the two-point no versions. I think for rom-coms

to be able to choose a great, and I actually think this movie, even though it's not the best sort of movie and there's some issues, there have to be a few things that actually surprise you. If it's in totally paint by the numbers, it's even with good stars, it's boring, and there's a few little small decisions in this movie that take you by surprise and make it not entirely predictable. Yeah, I agree with that. What's your favorite rom-com?

What's in the Craig and Liz Saffes? When Harry Met Sally sleep was in Seattle, probably, because I'm not counting things like forgetting Sarah Marshall. That's like a comedy. Yeah, that's the appetite ones I don't think count. I think that's like a common rom-com. And then, rom-com, I like that. It's a common rom. You need the rom first. Yeah, and there hasn't really been, I mean, I'm curious what you think if there's been like, I like set it up. I thought it was

really great. That's probably like the last good one. One of the best streaming original rom-com and Glent Pal. Really good. Glent Pal is so good. Yeah, we love that, but that was a big grantland. But that was probably almost 10 years ago at this point. Yeah, that was the first year of grantland. How old should legitimately just for three or four years just be a rom-com guy? He should at least make them every like three and a half years. Yeah,

he should almost be like the world cup where it's just, every four years, like the world cup. He should just come out with another concept rom-com. I concept rom-com. Yeah, home springs.

Boy, that's good. That's good though. That's true. Oh, do you ground how do you count rom-com?

Because it's one of my favorite movies both on the comments. Come on. It's coming. So quickly. That's a good one. That's one of my favorite movies of all time. Here's the other than the app of the rom-com's. The streamers figured out how to basically professionalize them

and crank them out and do every sort of idea constantly. Yeah, we'll just make a million of these

and it'll be all right. So we do it just in like at least. And this isn't anyone I saw in Netflix. Oh, don't think it wasn't watched in my house in the last week. The guy on that is pretty good. I saw him in some, that's called voicemail. Voicemail is from Misabel. Yeah, you're not going to be what happens, Van. She, her sister dies and she leaves voicemails to her dead sister. On to a phone that this guy has who's listening to the voicemails and decides he's going to,

he falls in love with her and tries to hunk her down. And guess what? She finds out when you're the end of the movie that they have the phone. Will they have to work it out? Wow. Yeah. One of my favorite movies of all time actually, if I did a letter box stop for this would be in it, I think is a rom-com and no one in this room is going to agree with me. I don't care. Edge of tomorrow. Ah, come on. It's a book on. Oh, that's interesting. Think about it.

It's actually, it's so romantic. It's so funny. It's just tomorrow. The top cruise? You're properly busy. There's no way. But it's a side comp. It's the lot of genres. It does every day. The movie has a body count. It's like, I don't know, what's you know, it's funny. Every time you die, it's fun. She does have a dark dog. Yeah. Edge of tomorrow. Edge of tomorrow. Edge of tomorrow is a perfect movie. And it is a comedy.

It is incredibly romantic.

the best movies of that decade. Really. We haven't talked about this. This is why we're in the

without a doubt. Like, I went to the arc later a couple of different times. I'm trying to tell people, you know, this is really good. I watch that movie anytime it's on. Well, I will say something about the rom-com before we move on. I do think that with the whole rom-and-a-com thing is interesting to think about that. Because think about what else was happening during this time. Like, movies like the notebook were coming out. And they were going so wrong. And then movies like the

Jadabata stuff was coming out. And they were going so calm that they were skew and you got to have

rom-and-com. You have to have a movie that is really funny. But in no way. So we're about in this.

Right. That's another all-time. But that's more like, that's like a drama rom-com.

Yeah. It's not that funny. I like that movie. I think it's really romantic. I think all four

leads are very likable. But it's not that funny. No, it's a rom-drom. Right. Well, to that point, pretty woman. It's pretty woman funny. It's pretty woman funny. It's, it's a little like catch with both Smith, but on a whole other note level. Because Robert's and Gary are just so great in it. That's not really even matter what's happening. She's adorable. She looks great. He looks great. The concept is like perfect. It's funny. Yeah. She was a prostitute, but only for a couple

times. How many rom-coms are you going to be doing it for a week? It's important. Yeah. How many rom-coms are really funny? Like like laughs like this one is funny. This one's funny. This one's funny. I mean crazy. She would love crazy. Yeah. Yeah. It's so funny. But then it goes in the app to decide the comment. Then it comes more for him. But forgetting Sarah Marshall is a rom-com. It's just super funny. Yeah. It's more funny. It's kind of. It's almost not fair to put it in here. I don't even think

of it as a rom-com. Yeah. So you need to put a list of rom-coms. Something else about this movie is like

this movie was made at the perfect inflection point for it to be made. Because around this time, the pickup artists do start to come out. You talked about this a little bit of print and print. This is the Tucker Max era. What was that other guy? Who was the guy who did the game with the old Strauss? Yeah. Well, there was another dude that had like a, this was a whole early internet era. What was the other guy? He had like a cool name. He wore a cool hat. He was on VH1.

What was that mystery? You remember him? You remember him? I don't remember him. He had been it nagging. You don't nagging. We talked about nagging the last time. By the way, while I was driving here, I was thinking about last time and I just like to say, I think it's pretty brave of me to come back and talk about another, how to pick up woman thing after getting universally dunked on for falling for a ride. And got like the game during our crazy day. Yeah. Yeah. So, it wasn't a dunked on like

Tim Redden. No, he didn't make fun of him. I got a lot of people to deserve it. People on your side though, making fun of him. I actually entered my brain when I was thinking about how was going to defend Will Smith's sexual politics? He's done it. He's done it. He's done it. He's done it. What's the best? He's in politics of hitches and picking up women. He likes women. Hitch is a mythical character. He's a mythical character. He's the rare

coxman who also loves and respects women. But also realized that everything he was doing was bad and he had the wrong formula. But it's not bad. He's not bad. It's not bad. He's a bad man. He's not so successful. He's not like, wow, we should treat women better. All of them. This is like, wow, I had that wrong. He wants them to like actually like them. It's a very

important thing that he doesn't work with fans once in a while. He only works with good guys who

are down on their luck. He's like the Robin Hood of Dating. Well, is interesting here in the

director talk about the making of the movie, which sounded miserable. Yeah. But he was basically

saying, I really wanted to avoid all the cheap jokes. And like I felt like that we had a vision for this. And the more we went kind of the cheap joke route, the movie was going to fall apart. He said, this is Andy 10 into director. He said, when we wrap that movie, I called my wife and said, I've just wrote my career and I've room will Smith's career too. Damn. Well, not he said, we had our difficulties. I didn't want cheap jokes, but he didn't trust me. The movie I wanted

to make and the movie will want to make. Neither one of those movies is as good as the movie we made together was a battle. And then he said, we'll spend three days for a production tried to delay it because he wasn't happy. And he basically tried to stop production and Jada got involved. He was like, you got it. You made a commitment, did that whole thing. And then he said, when we wrapped, we'll walk off the set, didn't get to say goodbye to me,

Didn't say anything.

is a disaster. We wrapped. It was depressing. And then they did a test screen and everybody was like, I love this. And then we'll Smith's like boom, and became most Smith. It would be hard. If you're if you're telling people the reason it goes to the movie, it was just like, go watch Will Smith

be smooth. Yeah. For I remember there was this girl that I knew in college. I was right after

college at this time. And she was like, I found out the type of guy that I want. And she says, my type is the Alexander Hitchin' style. I swear on my dad. Like, she said, that's the type of guy that, and I think for a lot of people in Jenna Jamison, it will shut up. She had a couple Alexander Hitchin' a couple of show on Michael's. But like, for that, you could watch this movie as a woman and go, hey, I'm like, let's be for women. Hey, I want that type of guy. You could watch this guy as a guy

and go, that's the best version of the that type of girl that you're confident. That's yeah. Great with women. It's not like she's not going to take these women home and have sex with them. But he's

gonna respect them. The reality is these movies are unassailable because you can see them on a date.

You can see them when you're married and you can see them when you're in high school and you want to take either a friend or a date. Like, you're hitting every age group and there's something

for everybody. And they're going to win forever. And that's why Netflix makes, she's basically

this and horror movies or all they pump out. Amazon's doing like YA versions of this. But this is like, they're like, oh, go on. They've done the advanced metrics on all this stuff. They're like, guess what? People watch rom-coms. I know, but there's so many, because we've done every idea. And as we said earlier, so much of this depends on, do I like the people of this movie and the more famous and better the people are? Think about it. Every major star is made at least two of

these. Yeah. Right. Even time cruises made a couple. One guy, who been selling? He doesn't count that.

Well, he's never been in a romantic comedy. Doesn't, doesn't, doesn't. He's been moved. He's been

in a romantic comedy at a time. Right. He's like, I've kind of solved a murder and navigate the film with. Yeah. Yeah. It doesn't do it. It doesn't do it. It doesn't. Intensity. What's that densel rom-com, even B? I think he could do a great one as he, like, now that he's in his golden years, like, an old person rom-com. I can't remember where a winner or a rom-com. There need to be more rom-com starring older people. Like, enough said, Gandalfini, it's great one. I gotta be real with you.

People don't, you don't get anyone under 40 to go. Maybe. I think that there should be, but you got to believe, you got to want to, like, in this movie, in their part of you that's like, hey, these two people, yeah, are they going to burn? They're going to have to say, yeah, we talked about this when we did Nancy Myers. Oh, Nancy Myers, who we, by the way, haven't talked about it all, and, as we're listing our favorite rom-coms, a lot of the role. She's almost like Karan Chon, right?

Yeah. And she shows them, haven't said. When you say, oh, like, well, well, what are we talking about? 60. Oh, they're 60. Yeah. I mean, 60, yeah, nothing. Now, 60, like, Brad, it's 62. You still try to chew. Yeah, that's nothing. That's nothing now. But when we start getting to like, you know, 75s, the 80s,

and stuff like that, it's kind of like, you know, that's what I was on an airplane.

Some point, like, three months ago, and the Wi-Fi was out, but the TV worked. And I'm just going through the direct TV and grumpy old men was on the movie was fucking awesome. It was so good. Yeah, I think I've seen it since, but it, but there's like two old people and Margaret moves in. They get their both like, trying to get it. That is a good. That's a good. That movie did so well, they made a sequel. So, to the case of, like, why isn't this, why isn't this generation

represented? Like, it does succeed. But think about it, Walter Mathau, Jack Lemon, and Margaret. Yeah, three. She was super famous, super beautiful in that. This would be the move for Cruz. If he ever gives up, like, trying to pretend it's top-gun, like, to actually do, like, an older, like, rom-com, or he's a widow or something. Oh, I can remember to bring up Terry McGuire, by the way, when we were doing the best romantic comedy this whole time. Yeah, that, I mean, that's a good one.

Which is there's a, it's in-hitch. There's she watches it at the end.

$60 million movie made $371.5. So, past 50 first dates as the biggest rom-com ever,

held the record for three years. Roger, you bird, two-and-a-half stars. Right, where are you? Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, I might have to go through his books and find the four-star movie just to, like, resurrect. What did he say? Two-and-a-half stars. There's a purpose for a movie like Hitch. And that purpose is to supply a pleasant, undemanding, romantic comedy that that you can rent next Valentine's Day.

It's not that I dislike it. It's just that it doesn't seem entirely necessary. The premise is intriguing.

The third act goes that not a pilot.

It's a borderline, fuck you, Rush. It's borderline, I'm not mad at him, but I thought about it. Have a good time, some time, Rush. Yes, what's next?

I think the third act is a movie.

I don't feel like it was lagging that much, personally. There's one part that lags, but we'll talk about it. We're going to take one break and then we'll do a rewatchable scenes. Most of we watch, we'll see in the opening. We'll spend the running through the hitch tips.

Basic principles. Meaning, let's go through these quick. No women wakes up saying, God, I hope I don't get swept off my feet today. It's fine.

It's fine.

Honestly, when I rewatched this time, I was like,

"Mmm, like waiting for it and everything's fine. We keep going." No matter what, no matter when, no matter how, no matter who. Any man can sweep a woman up their feet. You just need the right broom.

Sure. 90% of what you're saying ain't coming out of your mouth. You said it's basically 30% tone and 60% body language. I like that stuff. I believe that one.

Attach towards acting. A woman's best friend needs to sign off on all major relationship decisions. It's not wrong. No.

That's pretty much true, bro. It's also a fundamental tenant of rom-coms, like the best friend plays a role in the movie. I feel like that's true. My beloved daughter, Zoe, her friend,

she trusts the most, the other Zoe. I don't feel like she would ever seriously date somebody that the other Zoe was like, "I don't like that guy." Yeah, I think that's, you're just gonna trust the friendship.

Even if they're law, I mean, that's bad enough.

But if they're out on a person, it's just gonna be a sense of tension. Can't do it. I can't do it. Guys are different. Guys will just be like, "You'll just watch a friend get married."

It's like, "They go off to a ward and they don't come back." I don't have an opinion, I don't have an opinion on y'all. You like it, I love it. But I don't, I don't, in my friend groups,

we have never been on that, I don't like her.

Hey, man, if you like it, I love it. I love it. You've never had a friend who's with someone that y'all hate so much that somebody says something. So, I've had friends before that,

how can I say this? I've had friends before that were with women that other people that we knew had known? - Yeah. - Oh, that's a different one.

- They knew her really well and a lot of people knew her. I saw them say, and some people, sometimes people would do that. And they would be like, "Hey, bring that up." And then even then I would be like, "Yo, bro, get out of his business." If he likes her, that's his thing.

But if, for me, if you like it, I love it. I'm staying out of your, your, your whole situation. - If you, I get out of love it, but I don't want to hang out anymore. - I will hang out, if I love you, I'll put up with your girl when she get a little too drunk.

- No, no. - We're not talking about, we're saying like, if you're with someone who's significant, there is deeply annoying or maybe offensive. But we'll start pulling that, you know the couple,

this kind of came up during crazy people. You'll kind of pull back if you don't want to hang out as couples anymore.

- I've never been, there's not like a lot of people

that my homeboys have, like girls and stuff like that or late-lazed, they made that I like take a particular liking to them. It's like, I don't do that. Like, I don't, I like your girl.

As soon as you kind of weird, like, you know what I mean?

I don't know, I'm just like, from a place where it's like, "What are you talking about?" - No, no, no, no, no, no, no. - So it fans doing that, I'm not gonna judge her, you fell in love with her.

- I don't, I don't like, I don't get involved in that type of deal. - Have you ever been a fiddle from the thing where you're dating someone and her friends are so happy that she's with you and not the previous guy? - Yeah, because I think that, that's lady's do that.

- That's a powerful female motion. When, like, your friend only dates crappy guys and then suddenly they meet someone everyone likes and then we all go in way too hard. - That was true, man.

- Trained blocks. - Yeah. - We were in way too hard. - Am I a robot? - Am I a robot? - I mean, y'all don't say out of each other's business.

- I have two things to say about this. One, I can't talk about this. (laughing) Literally can't. - I'm also somebody that my wife is probably considered

my single best asset by other people, which is kind of insulting to me, but fun. - Relax. - But I've had things, you know, obviously older. There's been some relationships that I've watched

that maybe I kind of wish didn't unfold the way they did. The other thing is, I'm saying from far, like, "Oh, I hope they don't, I don't think they did." - Yeah. - Second, the thing that you can't explain

properly to people in their 20s, as all their friends, as the merry-go-round stops, everyone starts getting married. Craig's in this right now. You're now have a couple of friends that marry somebody.

And you're gonna think, "Well,

"It's not great, but it will be fine.

"You're not gonna be fine. "You're not gonna be fine." - Yeah, that's what I'm saying. - Don't be gone. - You're not gonna hang out. - That's it.

- So the partner will always win

and the friends will always lose, and that's how it goes.

- And this is my advice. - This is my advice from Confucius Bill. - I'll put William Mx last week and William Mx last week, and William Mx last week, and I'll put a button on it.

That's the reason why it's a losing thing. It's a losing thing. You cannot compete with matters of the heart. So you get mad at your homeboy's girl, and you say whatever, they're going to get back together.

- You can't. - You can't be the one. - You can't break up. You can't say anything. - It's like, "I thank God you broke up."

- She was awful. - He went to get six months age. - And she is gonna be my employee living in life. - In my 20s, I had a really close friend who day to go, who was not only very unpleasant

unlike, well, like, she was a pathological liar. - Yeah. - And that was too far. To the point where I've lived in my self and friend groups from various stages of his life.

Like, his best friend from college, his best friend from work. We had like a meeting of the five families together. And we were like, we got a session intervention, we did. And they broke, it actually worked.

They broke up. - This is horrible. I have, like, this is like, this is the horrible thing. - I would argue we could find it. - I think that is sinister.

- I don't know what you got to dump her. We were just like, here's the information. Do you want my car? - Oh, my car. - This is so disgusting. - This is disgusting.

- It's crazy. (laughing) - It sounds like an interrupt. - It's just like, it sounds like an interrupt. - There's another wrong guy. We're like, it sounds like 20 minutes.

- I wish I could tell my story. (laughing) - I don't know, I don't know. - No, I don't know. - Oh, good. - The vision.

- Yeah, the intervention can go one of two ways. (laughing) There's another way to go, where they end up staying together. And then it's all destroyed. - Yeah.

- I have some text. - The bar scene is that our next rewatchable scene with the flashback. But we have guys playing pool to dudes.

- I think this might have been the last guys

playing pool rom-com scene. We had a nice little 15 year run of this. It was like, let's go play some pool and talk about relationships. - Let's do this.

They have a scene like that boomerang. But it's 15 straight years of cracker, we have to play pool with somebody and just talk about the ladies. - No, I have not.

- Where do you guys stand? Hold on, nine ball. - When the implication is that he's dating Will Smith's sister? - Yeah, yeah.

- He's Michael Robaport as his brother-in-law.

- Don't worry, if I just never comes back right.

- In a racial relationship was good enough for the movie. (laughing) - They left that one. (laughing) - That's the most two thousand and five thing

that we're seeing. - Oh, yeah, that's the answer. - That's the answer. - That's the answer. - Because Michael went seeing, they don't bring him back.

- Yeah. - She just cares, like whoa, we're having boards in the movie. - More on that later. We have Albert Quitting his job in the boardroom. Can't say say real quick,

there's no way to talk about that bar scene

and not talk about how the $20-year-old gorgeous. - Nick, that's all I'm talking about. - That's all I'm talking about. - I know.

- Are you outta here? Don't you ever play against you? - Don't you dare think when you're back. - Don't you ever play against you? - Don't you ever play against you?

- It's still like that. - Boy, I was gonna say it for the audience. The $20 bar door. - I know, I know. I'm looking at her.

I was like, "This is a job." - I said, "This is a job." - Okay. - But it just shook me back to her. - I don't know why she was in the biggest,

still more. - Still more. - Just how you bounce in that movie, like. - Can I say this movie, everybody looks so odd, except for chemistry, but, you know. - But like--

- He was the hottest, he's ever looked. - Decided, he ever looked. The credit to where they shot it, like William Smith, William Smith looks amazing in it. If Amanda is looking, like, just every scene,

everybody-- - Amber Flida. - Amber Flida, yeah.

- All past inches, never happened.

- Incredible. - Did she marry Alan Thick? - Don't she marry Robin Thick? - Robin Thick. She married Alan Thick.

I knew she married the Thick. - I knew she married Robin Thick. - I knew they were already married. - They were together since they were like this. - That's true.

- They got divorced, you know, this time. - They got divorced after the-- - Yeah, yeah. - What was the, what was the, the huge record yet? - If you did, was there blinds?

- Blur around the blurline. - If you would have had first Megan Markle in, like, 2010, who is going to be an A+less famous person? She would have been like a 10 to 1 favorite. - Paula Pad was in a couple of things,

and she's having a great career, but like legitimately, legitimately, I thought that was a Brad Pitt Delman Louise moment. Like I looked at her like Jesus, she is so gorgeous. - Albert quit this job in the conference room,

but Amber once, Amber was impressed that he stood up for himself, and then we'll spend his hiding behind the door and he gives, that's a really good scene. That's just a good rom-com scene.

- They hit that quite a few times, the physical comedy of Will Smith, giving him advice and Kevin James, you know, fumbling as he's trying to woo a woman,

That's the best one out of all of them moments in the day.

- Good, like classic rom-com, where it's like, "Oh, they make a call." - Yeah. - Oh, she's going to seize the door, but-- - Hands up, hands up, he's in.

- Hitch meets, if Mendez, right as she's meeting Chip. - I don't know. - I call me Chip. I couldn't help but notice, you look a lot, like by next girl Fred. Chip, Chip though, Chip kind of a man.

- Chip fucking brings it. - Chip, I don't know, Chip. - Chip, you know, Chip, you know, you can't play on the dance later. - I don't know either. - You can't play on the dance later. - Chip, you can't play on the dance later. - Chip, are you,

are you always so close off?

Chip is intense. - Chip, Chip, Chip just earned it. I love them. All right, and then we have JetSkying on the Hudson River.

- Yeah. - Awesome. - And that's what you got, geez.

- Wait, I mean, I don't know about the move in the scene with Chip when Hitch pretends to be her partner to get her out of the awkwardness of my favorite rom-com. Is that one of the coolest moves to you or is that actually a little bit lame?

- Well Craig, I have it under something I just enjoy. (laughing) - And I realize I'm bringing a little baggage when I'm talking about fallen for a guy's moves, but I just enjoy every scene where Will Smith

gets to be the smoothest guy alive. It is a classic rom-com. Is this guy bothering you honey moves? - It's great. - I also love, just give me head,

when he gives her the walkie to the scene where he gives her the walkie to. Because most of the Hitch is actually fumbling with her and that's kind of the guy who-- - I have the walkie talkies in here.

- I mean, I love that when she doesn't say over and he says, you need to say over, I just-- - Yeah, that's funny. - Get it. - 'Cause when I saw that scene, I was like, I thought about interesting writing

in that scene 'cause like, that scene makes me think about the matrix. We were like, when Neo got the walkie to the walkie to the walkie to the walkie. - Like, you know what I mean? - Yeah. - When Will Smith

that movie makes me think about the matrix when Neo got the walkie to the walkie to the walkie to the walkie. 'Cause you think it to yourself, when Neo gets the walkie to the walkie to the walkie to the walkie. You're thinking, how much does Morpheus know about this world

that he can give him a walkie to the walkie to the walkie through that or the phone or whatever? And that makes me think about the chance that Hitch took. - But yeah, the Sunday morning. - Yeah, it's amazing.

- He is basically like the matrix of love.

- He knows that. - He figures, she'll say, no, I'm fine, I'm sorry. - He's a very nice guy. - Yeah, yeah. - He figures that he's not wrong.

- He's not wrong. - He also gives her a walkie to the walkie to the walkie because he knows that the rest of the audience, the office is gonna hear and they're gonna be reacting to it. - He's been the most unrealistic newspaper office

and it's gonna be the best thing about the walkie to that.

- Yeah. - Ellis Island is kind of a cool scene for a variety of reasons, but the butcher reveal is really funny. - It looks really funny. - It looks like a genuinely funny movie about it.

- Okay, so this is what I was saying earlier about. - That's funny. - I thought gracious to butcher. - Brahm comes have to have moments to surprise you. This is the first time we were like, whoa, I didn't see that coming, he's saying he's so smooth, everything's going,

well, you'll obviously not trust the jet ski. When that happens, it's so funny because it's so surprising and out of left field that he didn't plan ahead and he totally missed it. - Really good soon.

- Dance montage you mentioned leading into them at the club, of course. - Really good Kevin James in this part. Food allergies scene, which I think became, I think they used that in the trailer.

- In the jet ski moment. - Yeah, yeah. Albert takes her to a next game and goes for the big kiss. If I have very few passions in life for Ramcoms

and Lifetime Movies, but youth sports scenes with bad soccer games and anyone going to an NBA game, I'm locked in. All I care about is who's playing, trying to figure out what season it is.

- So it's my reason, right?

- This is March, 2014, it was Marbury's first game

against the Grizzlies at home. (laughing) I looked at the Boxer, I brought him this later. But I love when they do that. Antorage was really good at this.

Really good. - They would have those guys sing, courtside.

Basically, once a season, I think in R is seats.

- Oh yeah, probably. - And the real R, but yeah, I love when people bring the NBA into it. - The next seven in this, in how to lose a guy in 10 days, train wreck, right?

- Train wreck's a good one, yeah. - Big use of the doctor for the next. - There's a couple more, I should have asked Clot or one of those AI think. - You'd be all the rom-coms with Seth Fisher, NBA games,

actual action, the date from hell, food fight. When, when, when ever Mendez comes to his apartment, I'll pissed off. - See what happened to him, huh? - Yeah, you wouldn't have been thrown stuff out.

- See what happened to him. The kids would be like, who is he to throw it to throw lettuce at her? - What do you think? - Yeah, what happened to him?

- No, what, what's lettuce? - Whatever. - Speed building. - Speed building. - So you can't assault anybody with it.

- Speed, date, same, do like the speed, date, same. I like speed, date, same's in general. - So, how? - This is really good. - Okay, I actually looked this up,

'cause I was gonna have the most 2005 speed dating at Buda-Con, and then I took a sound like, let me look this up, and many articles came up about speed dating, having a resurgence post pandemic.

So.

- This one, this one is making a,

this one is making a commentary about speed dating though, because Will Smith and even Mendez look like two hot aliens dropped into the speed, but in full of losers, which culminates with the woman standing up and going, "I haven't been late in about a year."

So, which is funny, which is very funny. - It's the kind of weird unspoken thing about even Mendez in general, right? Which is like, she's way too hot to just be a normal reporter and for her to like, not be moving in the world the way,

I don't know, it just doesn't, she's not too out for the movie, but it's a little bit.

- That's what, it's a hitch, hitch begs for forgiveness

on a legress boat, and then the wedding scene and credits, it's kind of a good end credits, love when they get into it, man. We know it's not real, they get married, let's have some fun. - By wife set actually, this is my favorite scene in the movie. - The dance scene?

- Yeah, she just really like, it's a pretty cool one, yeah. - You have Will Smith, you better have a community dance scene at the end. - And Will Smith and Neva Mendez dancing was pretty high level. I heard how that could go.

And I just love that this movie actually was like, "No, Albert didn't just get the girl. "He got the girl," like they got married. Like you think that started the Jennifer Hudson show where the guests have to go down in dance?

Would you do that? Would you dance? - Literally my worst nightmare, I think about it all the time. - I wouldn't do it. - You wouldn't do the spirit, total?

- No, I would come up with a bit. - I definitely wouldn't do that. - Oh, I, I don't even dance a lot. - I just need a couple more notches to be invited on the show. I cannot wait to do it.

No, I don't think the show is just anywhere. - It's so high risk, I would prepare more for that than an Oscar speech to not fuck that out. - If you, okay, yeah. - If you climb yourself, it's over.

- It's over. - But if you are an unexpected success, and like, let's say, I don't like, you're a, a half Korean half Asian or half white person, perhaps a woman who no one thinks can dance.

And if you were that person, you were to go up there and shock the world. That clip would follow you forever. - It's like throwing like a 90-mounted or like pitch at a base song.

- Oh my god, the DNC, like you would be able to like,

soar. - But see, the reality is, if you're, if you're me

and you're coming to me, - Yeah, you're a hero, yes. - But with you, all y'all gotta do. - Yes. - Bill, you can literally like, she's crazy. - You can legitimately, you know what you can do?

You know what, will tell Albert to do in this movie. - Yeah, yeah. - Don't like the other way. - You live here. - 90 degree angle, right?

- Yeah, I'll tell you. If you come through the spirit tunnel, Jennifer, and you like this, people are gonna be like, Jesus Christ, that bill's got so if we'll never happen. - We love Bill.

- I love Albert. - I love Albert. - I love Albert. - I would hire a dancer. (laughs) - Do you know what I said to David? I was, yeah, I did. - It lives forever one way or the other.

'Cause the best one ever was Brittany Snow.

- Who's the unrememberable? - Who's the unrememberable?

- Hillary, it's not a Hillary, though. - No, no, no, no. (indistinct) - Eric, Eric, Eric, Eric, Eric, Eric, Eric, Eric, Eric, - The clip they had him doing that. - He went nuts, yeah.

- The comment section was so feral, they had to shut it down. 'Cause it has, I think like-- - It's a good word, bad word. - My mom was up and then. They were like, they, they, they could have like,

you know, you know, you met her? But like, they, they was, they was going up. - If you, I'm just saying, if you kill that, it is your shot. Bill, you could do it.

- Brittany Snow. With our most rewatchable scene, I'm a name something that I think is, it is the most laugh out loud, funny moment in the movie to me. - Yeah.

- So there's a great moment where we'll go to the figure to play Albert's case, and they have this cute little thing where he realizes he didn't do anything, and you exhale as an audience, and then he grabs her their holder,

and just as he does that Albert slides into frame,

and he goes, is he supposed to play it a whole time?

Take my girl, and then he attacks will, every time, I've seen that a dozen times. Every time it happens, I laugh my ass off, what do you have? - I think it's the dance lessons coupled with hitch giving him advice,

some of it of voiceover, wise on the first day. It's not just that the dance stuff is amazing, contract you see him dancing the day when he wrote it down, when he teaches him where to put his hand, and he says, "Watch your hand placement, too high,"

says, "I want to be friends, too low," says, "I just want to grab some ass." And he goes, "Friends, ass, me," and then it cuts to him doing that. I love that scene so much.

- That's the most rewatchable scene. - It is. - That's the scene that, like, with that man, I really love seeing New York City with the jet skis, and Hudson River, and all that stuff.

I would give that great check order. I would also give that tentative spending on it. I just like, yeah, it's this kind of New York scene

I've never seen in a movie.

- Yeah, totally. - And it was also this movie's for less than four years after 9/11, and it's just like, New York's starting to feel like it's coming back.

- Made me want a jet ski.

- Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

- It was cool. I like that they did that. All right, what's the most 2005 thing about this movie? I could offer you famous gossip call on this. - Yeah, that's right.

- Michael Rapford is the buddy to Ramcom, or it's to fund Marbury in a mix uniform. I think it has to be the winner, right? - Yeah, I mean, all that stuff is very the, any other ones?

- I think, so, okay, as I said, I think Will Smith and what he does, all of it actually has not aged poorly, the way he talks about women, what he's teaching these guys. But the fact that it's all these guys dating women who are physically out of their leagues,

I don't think you would see in a movie now. Like, you wouldn't see, like, all the guys he's coaching are like, he's coaching up to like, go after him. - She loves you. - She loves you, yeah.

- That's just kind of a very early to mid 2000s dynamic, you just don't see that often. - Rap, apart. You could have called her or what?

- Yeah, I guess that's what that hot woman who walks in the bar

was just weird. - So I guess you think about that scene. Just let you know. So we learn later, we learn later that Rap and Ford's character is married to Will Smith's sister base, right?

- I think it's not gonna let it all clear in the beginning. - It's not clear to me. - I don't know why that's important. - But he's like, why don't we go get these blood. - So what?

- So Will though is still, with his brother-in-law, being like, hey, man, you want me to go get him and bring him over here? - We're not sure where his brother-in-law, yeah. - Kind of look at the, it's like, super weird. - They said that that Rap and Ford didn't fair well in that,

it didn't process of this movie because he's like, - Fourthly leading, building person in the movie. - Yeah. - Is that where the top five? And he's the movie.

- He didn't have other scenes with him that were cut. - Yeah, they definitely did. - The flag on Dolly butter in my ass and Dolly pops my mouth award for something I just enjoy. What do you got me now?

- Well, I told you, is Will Smith being smooth. Like, all, because most of the movie is not that, like, the, well, just if it is, he gets him and is by actually screwing up and kind of bumbling and whatnot,

the allergies, Ellis Island and that. But the moments where you get to see him be smooth first time he approaches her, the fact that he, and this is similar to Gosling in Crazy Super Love, that he lets a go, let's the fish back into catching a release.

- Mm-hmm. - The smoothest thing a guy can do is catch a release. That's a tack. - What do you have? - I got the Vance Months in character. - I just love a pure asshole.

The moment that he's sitting down talking to him, you know something's off 'cause he's like, I mean, this guy is ugly. He's got to get a lady. - Yeah. - Is that that whole thing?

I just love that character. I love, and every movie, just a straight up terrible person. - Terrible. - I gave Vance to Chess Frockwell, Brocklanders Award for Best Character Name, Vance Months.

And what are the events that guy was going to be good character?

- After two. - Two. I've seen him other stuff, and I like him. He plays, do you watch Fargo season two? He plays one of the super evil Midwestern mob.

Fargo one season one, two and three are amazing.

- Good, good. - He plays one of the evil mobsters and that. And I think he's in a bunch of like law and order stuff. He's just got such incredible resting things out there. - So I had this and what's aged the best.

His name's Jeffrey Donovan. Seeing him in a romcom. This is a guy who's been, I think in both Sikara movies, he was like, "I love you guy!" - He was like, "That's who he is!"

- Oh, he's in shock collar. - That's what I know from him. - He's in shock collar. - He's in shock collar, he's in shock collar. - That's what I know from him.

- He plays the dude that's like, "Yes, what's on the yard?" - Yeah. - Yeah. - What's the character's name's a car with glasses? He's a gravers.

- He's like one of his like right hand guy. - Yeah. - But in shock collar. - You see this movie and there's a darkness to that guy from all the other movies.

And he's perfect as me. It's a bunch of things. - I'm telling you it's his face and I'm sorry. He's like, actually, you know, just some people just have those faces.

- Yeah. - My aflite gondola is in a romcom when the character's watching another romcom. - Yeah. - The next cross.

- The cross. - Yeah. - Yeah. - And this one they did it with, what was written here?

- Jeremy Barrier, yeah. - Yeah. - Which did come out? - Getting choked up. - In '90s?

Like '90s?

- Is that kind of a weird, I'm sad movie to throw on?

- Jeremy Barrier? - Well, it was the-- - It was the-- - It was the pivotal moment, though. It was when he was trying to run her back.

- Yeah. - I know it from those things, but that's actually not no, I want to know. - Jeffrey Donovan? - Yeah.

- She did the thing where you-- - Burn her nose. - Burn nose. - It's the other one. - Because he's the guy from Burn nose.

- I don't think he's a that guy. I think he's Jeffrey Donovan. - I don't think he's Jeffrey Donovan. - Yeah. - But Burn nose, yeah, Burn nose.

- And it took many things. - What's actually the best, the walkie talkie trick you mentioned?

I thought that was really funny, it would never ever work now,

because I just don't-- I don't think anyone would bring walkie talkies in there. Anything, and people are probably doing this a little bit creepy. - No, I feel like this is the coolest guy ever. - Andy Tennant's quote is what's actually the best

about Will Smith. This was him saying Will Smith wasn't that bad to work with. Even the hard times he'd always say, wait until the junket we're going around the world with this,

We did it and it was great.

It was the most amazing trip I'd ever been on. And when it was over, my time with Will was over.

I've never heard from him say this.

(laughing) They're just traveling like 50 countries. - So junk, it sounded amazing. - They do. - When I looked up the Andy Tennant,

the first thing I saw was a quote from last year of him saying Will Smith, his production company is making a sequel, and he didn't-- - Yeah, there was like some 28th anniversary. - He's like, that's probably what I guess.

- We had an Andy Tennant at ESPN forever. - Okay, so when I looked at Andy Tennant's IMDB, who made this movie, in addition to all the romantic comedies, it says E60, and I'm sure they mixed it up with Ari and Andy Tennant. - Different Andy Tennant.

- I'm sure they mixed it up with Ari and Andy Tennant. - Different Andy Tennant, what's the best? Never lie, steal cheater drink,

but if you must lie lie in the arms of the one you love,

if you must steal, steal away from bad company, if you must cheat, cheat that, if you must drink drink in the moments that take your breath away.

- I have that one, he's the worst.

- This was the best. - I have that one. - I have that one. - You say that to some lady on a date right now. - That's what I did.

- That's what I did. - But she's like, she's going to put you on Twitter. She's going to be like, if we did the movie, then I enjoy it. - Like, that's a terrible--

- Unless I miss reading it in the point is it supposed to be-- - Yes, it's bad. She looks at him like-- - I thought it was-- - But he was like-- - I thought it was--

- That's funny about it. - I know. - At this point, she's a little off him, I don't know. But I think he thinks it's cool. And I think the movie's trying to say that if she were still into him, she would have liked that.

Which I don't-- - Do you know how he feels about his speech at the end?

- It's about lying and not--

'Cause he isn't okay.

So it's a testament to Will Smith's superpowers

that he has many corny lines in this movie. Some of the many of them do not succeed. I actually don't think the final one really succeeds as well, he gives her that speech about like flying and leap, whatever, it's still fine 'cause the ending of the kiss.

But I don't know, some of his lines are not great. - What do you have from what saves the best? And then, camera phones, she pulls out a little flip phone, she takes the picture of him, we have-- we can shoot a whole fucking documentaries

and movies on our camera phones now, they've aged really well. Also, a movie about teaching people how to interact. I don't think people understand how bad things are. Like, I watch the whole thing dance. I watch a whole many times about how, right now, in Japan,

they're having like national security issues from a low birth rate and like seniors living longer and kids not fucking enough 'cause they don't know how to meet people and we are maybe a half in generation behind the fact

that people cannot interact, becoming a economic time bomb and like blowing up societies. And this entire movie is about a guy just teaching people like how to talk to women

and get out of there on a way. That point, we looked at those people as kind of like, oh, these are guys. But now, that's like an epidemic of its own. - Your take coincides perfectly with mine.

I had what's aged the best. The way Will Smith talks about women and talks to women

and I really believe we now desperately need

a Will Smith in the world to counterpill all the like, in sell, red pill, pot manovers. We need hitch, we need hitch more than ever. - It's true, hitch 2 point now. But right now, if hitch was doing this,

hitch would be like, yes, I'll teach you all the ways to get all of these women is gonna cost you a $150 a month to be on the S tier of my shit that was my substax. And behind hitch, it would be like two chicks

in Baynesoo's, he's in Miami and they look like they're gonna fuck at any moment. - If we had hitch now, there'd be three women who barely talk on a panel. He's talking to like some other guy who sucks.

He's like kings, know your worth, unless she comes to you, or they get be horrible. This is 2005 and this man has a better sexual politics that I said at the beginning than like a lot of people now. - Off of what you said, Van, that's the people

that things I get confident in the most I don't have nothing to do with me, one is my wife. And then the other are how my kids can have conversations with people and people actually say that to me in my wife. Like it's so nice that your kids just know how to talk

to people. - I could do a whole thing on it. - But then you can go on this for a while. - The whole audience go feel like I'm dick riding, but that's what I'm not gonna do it.

But like, it just is. - Why don't you launch a show like this where you talk to men about how to talk to women? - 'Cause I say on a men's business. - Yeah, we just found that out earlier.

- Is that like, you lost it? (laughing) - You pay out of men's business, man, whatever I got going over this, I got going on over there. - Yeah.

- If I got a check, you're married. - Is there a killer? I'm not gonna judge you. - Hey, hey, you like the way she kills? - I don't know what I'm gonna do.

- I don't know why. - The people deserve to die, maybe they can't. - How coaching them up, this is what I'm saying. I'm not saying intervening. We're only, I'm saying, just like coaching.

- Well, 'cause we need more rope. We need more positive role models. - Yeah.

- I'm definitely not one of those.

Kid Cuddy pursued a happening so we're for best need no drop. - Oh, sure. - Yes, sir. - Yeah, it's good.

- Great to have that back. - We had a few of the songs from the '90s and they're really, 2000s popping in this movie. - It's a good Neil Drop, I guess. - It's a good Neil Drop movie though.

- Yeah. - They got, oh, we isn't there, they got, oh, she's they got John legends in there. It's like a good Neil Drop movie. - The John legends cover when there is

when they're jet skiing. I mean, don't you worry about it? - Right. - They open, it was like back to back Motown, like romantic comedy hits, like they just go,

just go, just do, as he gets his basic principles. - Do we talk about the opening

where Hitch basically uses all of the different guys

to like outla, outla his philosophy and all of the, do we talk about that? - Yeah, we did that. - It's a great tune. - It's a great tune.

- They realized they didn't clear yet and Will Smith just called usher and I should get him permission because Will Smith was the fucking man. It's like, hold on, I'll call usher.

- Yeah, it was so much. - Can we get the movie of you? - We've had a call. - I was out of, yeah, I was out of call. I was like one, I kind of out was still in college mode.

Out of college, but still in college mode. I was watching this, I was going back to being 13 and seeing my Will Smith. But then when yeah, I came on, I went back to 18 year old Mina

and the basement of SA, just yeah, pounding, people playing the earpombs. (laughs) - It was the biggest song in college in America that year. - That would be a funny thing to,

what was the biggest song each year? - Yeah. - 'Cause the outcast that, hey, yes, song, all over the world, whatever year that was, but each year there was that Justin Timberlake song

that one year. - Which one? - 'Cause like, oh, five. - '60s? - '60s. - '60s, '70s, every. - '60s? - '60s? - '60s, yeah, '60s, but each year there was one.

Who was the, what was the C-Lose song? - Fuck you. - Yeah. - '70s, '70s. - '70s. - Something like that, yeah, that was a massive one. - '20s songs are gigantic, like, in that regard.

- Do you think you can get the year and there's the song?

- Maybe, right, there's no Will Smith songs. - That's awesome. - That's awesome. - They used over by this point. I don't know, I think while I was, I might have been the last time he went to the world. - Surprise, they didn't go into the lab and come up with a puzzle song.

- 'Cause I'm gonna get hit for Justin Timberlake. - Justin Timberlake. - While OS came out, what year? - $2,000. - $9,000, yeah, you're right. - $2,000. - Was there a better title for this movie?

The movie's working title was called The Last First Carol.

- Carol. - Carol, Carol. - No, hitch is a perfect title. - Yeah, I agree. All right, we're gonna take one more break. Then Mina has a Flex category. All right, Mina, your Flex category is.

All right, I'm gonna go with what age is the worst. I'm low to say his name again because it's kind of like Candy Man. He'll show up in our mentions. But Michael Rappaport as a likeable friend. (laughing)

- Here we go. - It's great to have. - It's great to have. - Yeah, it's great to have. - Okay, man. - But Flex category is that that just you just put that

to say you didn't learn, you didn't look for reason to shoot that up. (laughing) - Flex category, that's like a... - I was trying that word.

- I was searching myself and that's why I regret.

I was seeking though around this time when I watched the movie, I was like, "Hey, you know, a likeable friend, "90s movies, all that." And then now I'm just like that's so crazy that he was a likeable cameo during that period.

So... (laughing) - I don't feel like door to doors. - Yeah, it's like, I don't feel like door to doors. - You're waving a feeling you're on the front of me. - Like a whole fucking thing, it's like, oh, you know, come on.

- There is someone else to go. - The Amanda Dobbins word for best piece of real estate. The Kevin Smith kiss scene, when we'll spit in there on this, when we're not Kevin Smith tries to kiss Sam Bravilletta. - Kevin James, yeah.

- Kevin James. - I don't know why I said Kevin Smith. - Will Smith, Kevin James. - Will Smith, Kevin James. - Yeah, I think the director said, Will and I went to a brownstone we liked,

walked up the door, knocked them in the door to see if we were permission to shoot there. It turned out to be Sarah Jessica Parker's house. - Whoa. - And she was like, "Hi."

And we said, "Can we enter the doorstep?" - Yeah, that's crazy. - I know. - I can't. - That's whole shit though.

- I don't think that way. - And she never happened, bro.

- Are you nuts? - This was like peak sex in the city years. - So you look for a place that you not on the door. - It's very, it's really like the brownstone. So he's like, "I'm gonna knock on the door."

Basically, I'm most smith. And then she can care about your answers. They have a moment. She's like, "Sure, you can shoot in the step." That's the story.

- Okay. - All right. - Not by now. - Maybe it happened if it's will knocked. Since will knocked.

And it's her, maybe this is one of those brilliant, amazing New York things that can only happen there. - But she's got a friend of mine working for a week. Link in the film. But yeah, Van.

- You guys aren't gonna like my answer.

I think it's the chemistry between Will Smith

and even in this. I do not think there's very much chemistry.

- I think it works for the movie.

It's not like he had with Margarrabe and Focus. - It's not like that. It's also the chemistry in the movie that works the best. - It's in the Kevin James. - It's him and Kevin James.

- Yeah. - And even Kevin James and Legger Cole have better chemistry than Will Smith. - Will Smith even exists. I don't think the chemistry is all of that.

- It's not bad. - It's okay, but it's not, what's so memorable from them. - It's not like current then, so. - Is that what would you say is in the words?

- Best pairing, right? - Yes. - You love Beyond the Pines. - Yeah. - I think that the, I think that the,

a place beyond the Pines, the place beyond the Pines is a desperate,

beautiful, tragic, amazing, sublime tale

of the human condition.

I think it's like a legitimately amazing movie.

And I think her and Ryan Goslin and the movie are heartbreaking, but like gorgeous. I love it. - Is she, is what you're with that? - Like 12, 12, what do you have for a week?

- Yeah, so I'm just looking at it now, even matters. - She's great in the other guys, that's Will Ferris. - Well, that, there's that clip that goes viral. - You're on the, you're on the clip that goes viral, literally.

- Yes, absolutely. - Yeah, absolutely. - One of the best movie clips. - It's on the rewatt list. - It's like the Tom Holland, like umbrella clip, where if it comes on, I will watch it

from start to finish every time. - It's so funny. - Is that what you're wearing? So obviously the departed exist and many roles exist, but Mark Wahlberg is brilliant.

- It's so funny that he's so funny. - No, no seriously. - What's that? - I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm such a mess. - That's the thing.

- It's only like nine or 10 actions in the last 30 years who could have been perfect for that scene. - You know?

- My week link at the film, I think the kissing scene

with Will spent the Kevin James is a little odd. It just fits a weird scene. - Interesting. - Do you, you being, - What, what makes you uncomfortable about it?

- Is it, are you uncomfortable with how uncomfortable they are? You're being an ally? - No, it's not an uncomfortable thing. - Great save, Mina. - It's not an uncomfortable thing, yeah, maybe it is.

- It goes on for like a minute too long. And it's just one of those like, all right, we get it, you're trying to teach him. I don't know, I just, I just couldn't get there with it. - It's funny.

- See, I don't watch, I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry. - Oh yeah, I don't like that. - One of the, talk about scenes that are great. - The Jessica Beale scene mattered to me as a kid.

- There's a great scene in that motherfucker. One of the best scenes ever, yeah. - Like that movie. - Like that. - I don't know what the whole thing is.

- Kevin James, you liked that whole scene? - It's, it's whatever. - I'm fucking with you. - I just thought it wasn't a good scene. - Yeah, yeah, I'm like, this one is great. - It's a great scene, it's one of the more iconic scenes

of the movie, which is, that's why the take is interesting,

but I don't, it doesn't bother me. - It's a great category for this movie. - Weakling. - Oh, no, weakling, that was a thing of some else. - 'Cause we gotta move on to what scene we're gonna be playing here.

- I don't think there are any weaklings in this movie. I feel like the main core actors are all pretty solid. What stage is it where a newspaper office would do it? What the fuck is going on in this office? And what was this newspaper?

- It's a tablet. - It's a tablet, it's a public area. - It's a public area. - It's a public area. - It's a public area.

- Yeah. - But they have an office that's out of, it's the nicest,

I've never seen a nicer office ever.

- I actually had this as most 2005 thing about the movie, which is thriving, tabloid industry. And I think 2005 might be a little bit late for it. Really, the JFK show is what you brought you back to when like paparazzi and tabloids were having this.

Obviously, you're filled, we're just so massive. But I actually think like, early 2000's a tabloid team is gonna take it up. - Yeah. - But even like Perez Hilton,

our office is fucking beautiful. - Not like this office though. - She had, this had like a fake garden. I'm not even going trip, we had a, we, you know, I'll imply this though, we had a whole,

it's just a great office, big, beautiful shit, everywhere, ping pong, the whole night. I actually was dope at the middle of that market, right there, go get something to eat. - I never had that experience.

When I was in New York, right for Fortune magazine, I was in a cubicle riding about like IPOs, so it was not fun. - ESP and the magazine had a really nice, big giant. - It is. - Yeah, I used to go.

- And then at one point, they just looked at the numbers, they're like, wait, why do we have this office out? - Yeah, it was huge. - It was like building, oh, you mean the one in New York, the one in New York, it was half-empty at all times.

It was in the best part of the city, it was pretty great. - A couple things for me. - Yeah, no, okay, real quick, rapid fire. Almost everything H does in this movie with her would be considered just like way too much in creepy now.

- Totally, the first date to me, way over there.

- Everything he does with her now, it's too much. Can't do it anymore, everybody assumes the worst can't do it. - Walking talk is like they're, they're Google in this guy to say if he's on a list. - The first date is at 7 AM, we're riding jet skis

and then I show you Ellis Island and I have your great, great grandfather, but Jesus Christ, Docker.

- We'll talk about this, the date doctor thing.

- That's great. - Oh, go for it. - I just said, she liked the jet skis. - Didn't none of it bother me. - Okay, okay, walkie talk is weird.

- Don't laugh.

- We're great, we're all five, nine, you can never do it.

- Yeah. - That's just, I mean, it's you, you would know better than nothing. - I know, but I've already been cast as a chomp and I'm Mark, but I gotta say, a guy pulled the walkie talkie thing on me.

It'd be curtains. - Can't be honest with you though, it depends. Then it all depends on the guy 'cause if, because if you like the guy, then... - It's the human resources me, yeah.

- I thought the 7 AM was more offensive than the jet skis. - Oh, yeah, right. - Yeah, that's right. - I'm going to think it's not so funny with a friend.

Like, man, do you think it's weird that he asked her to come somewhere at 7 o'clock? Is this guy like, is he gonna do? Is he gonna do it? - He's not on a jet ski and go into the Hudson, yeah.

- So, a couple of things. Number one, you know who you don't see in movies anymore? Women slapping or slash assaulting asshole men. - Oh, she needs him in the-- - She needs him in the--

- Yeah. - I thought immediately, at that point, she should have called the police on it. - She called it, or just that's insult. Like, we don't hit.

Like, Kevin James when he insults the newsstand. - Does it matter, doesn't matter? How upset you are, emotionally, don't hit. Don't hit, we don't hit anymore.

And that, really, the only thing I had here

was Will Smith's choice to fall in love was even Mendez and not Paul Patton. He should have, well, Paul Patton was something special in this bitch, I'm not gonna lie, man. Even Mendez, even Mendez is special.

Paul Patton is-- - Even Mendez and this movie, I had me looking up where she ranked, you talked about Maxim and the Maximists from the year.

Never cracks a top five, which honestly

in retrospect makes me question the integrity of this. I was like, if even Mendez never made a top five, circummitted two times for terrible. - Bought and sold. - How's it about to do this thing?

- I had, I'm gonna do it. For Wood Sage's or worse, I think the movie does drag in the middle a little bit. Weirdly, never with the Kevin James scenes, it's always one, it's just Will Smith and they have

a Mendez and there's a couple in the middle there that I feel like, especially after the food hours. - I don't love the food hours. - Could it be a whole, faith food race? - Yeah, it's food hours.

- The thing is, it doesn't work out. - Kevin James's character in 2006, probably an insult. - I think it would be a slightly more believable man. Like I don't think they would go that extreme 'cause nobody would buy it.

- That he would be able to get work. - That he would get a lot of work. - You have a fucks category, Ben. - Already did it. The time on all in true lives,

bitch did you still my movie award? - Let's do, you did it. So let's do the CR things loop, Wilson could've been Harrison Ford, how to stake award. I have a hottest take.

- I don't have one. Let's go, this take, dude. - This is the fourth best, Wilmsmith movie of all time. - Fourth best, what do you have in the top three? - I heard this down, okay, well I forget.

Okay, I'm not, okay, men and black, I do, I do four, bad boys, top three. Hitch, then focus.

I think focus is better than all of a serious movie.

I think these two movies are better than all of a serious movie. - I'll go hotter. I'd have focus ahead of hitch. - Whoo. - That's tough.

- I love focus. - Focus good. I don't, Mark and Robbie brought something out of him that no other actress brought out of her. - They had better chemistry.

I would say that than this movie. - If I had the hotest take is that this is probably, I mean, six years separation exists, but you could make an argument that this is Wil's best performance,

or this is the movie that is, to me, this movie is more indicative of Wil's start them than any other movie. Every other movie, so almost every other movie that Wil's Smith is in, that goes crazy,

has all of the things that Wil's Smith, pretty cynically, would go for in a movie to get people out to the theater. - Okay, I hear you.

- They have like, he has aliens or he's never apart from himself.

- But in this movie, this is just Wil's Smith. - Start paramedics. - That's it. - So Wil's Smith, if you like Wil's Smith, you will love Hitch,

but that was kinda I am legend too.

- Not really, that's what we're just trying to do.

- That's what we're just trying to do. - That's a post-apocalyptic moment. - But that looks like it's not as good. - No, it's not. - But it's a post-apocalyptic vampire movie

that's based on a very, very popular piece of fiction. - You're making the exact same case I made when I voted for Drake May for MVP, and got a lot of backlash, but I stand by it. Wil's Smith was the MVP of this movie,

and he elevates the surrounding cast in a way he does not have to in any of the other movies that I mentioned. And I think that's a totally valid one. - That was Diane Rucini's MVP for the March action.

- We got rapper for it, Rucini. - Yeah, I thought this was gonna come where it might be. - Rable and people will be like, (laughing)

- I actually thought you were changing the game. - You can't get to your seats, it's worth the joke.

- It's not gonna be.

- It's like, oh, it's what you're gonna do. - Somebody you love ever with someone, I was like, do not, my brain was like, don't do it, don't do it. - I have a heart of stake, go for it.

I'm pretty proud of this one. - As you know, I love the fast and furious franchise. Although we probably could have stopped after eight, nine, 10, haven't seen. I got off.

Ava Mendez, the biggest mistake they made in the franchise, she's in two. - Yeah. - She was on the rated two's borderline, like, kind of nuts and two fast two fears.

- Two fast two fears. - She plays an undercover cop and two fast. - Yeah, she's great.

She's with Paul Walker, we never see her again.

- They bring her back for one scene. - They bring her back for one scene to think in seven. - Like a scene for five or one. - Once they start designing,

they're gonna connect their world. They're like, oh, remember all of these people they still should have been back and for. - She should have been in the franchise from that moment on.

I don't know why she wasn't, I don't know what happened.

- Is she the best female lead of the entire franchise?

- Well, I've said this on one of the fast pods I did with Shay. If you just flip her with Michelle Rodriguez from the first movie on, it's a better franchise. - I don't agree with her.

- That was my hot take. I think for the first time. - She's a different kind of, but she's like, - Yeah, I think even then I have been in this coulda done it.

- I know, but like the authorities like, yeah, regardless, we should have had both. She should have been in there. She should have been, I don't know, they bring the rock and stand.

I'm not against having the rock, but I just think, I don't know why they punt it on her. Everyone else from, a bunch of other people from fast two are in for the rest of the game. - Gips in state becomes a man.

- She's in state. - She's right there. - Yeah, she didn't want to make it. - Yeah, she probably. - Like, as Michelle Rodriguez, power one.

- Come on, she said, there's another one. - I don't want to make it, I don't want to make it. - I don't want to make it, I don't want to make it. - I am the female of the franchise. She's out, no, but I don't know what,

I don't know what they're thinking, 'cause she's great and fast two. You know, fast two, we weren't ready. If we would have known that the whole, this is my thought about fast two.

If we didn't know that the whole band

was going to eventually get back together,

we'd have loved and respected fast two more. But we thought that Vin Diesel and all those people were done with that franchise. - Vin Diesel wasn't in fast two and broke everyone's brains.

- That's what happened. - But it was fast two, it's a good movie. - It's a good movie. - It's a no-walker vehicle. - If we'd have known that everybody was coming back,

we would have loved fast two with the whole deal and everything like that. - Yeah, but it was like, you're making fast two, but you're making fast two if you ranked them all. - I mean, it's not as good.

- Have you done this? Have you done the whole? - No, but it's not, you've won four, five, six, seven

and some order have to be the first five.

- Which one take your drift? - Three. - Wow. - Three's a really good. - Yeah, three's a really good.

- Two or three are in the running for the sixth part. - Okay, do it, yeah. - They brought Bawa. - I support two and three. - Bawa.

- Yeah. - But once we get to eat, we'll share these. It starts kind of going sideways

and then we're on ice and casting what ifs.

Patton Oswald was the second choice for the Kevin James part of it. - Oh God. - I mean, I like Patton Oswald, but that-- - Yeah, that's second one. - You don't like Patton Oswald, I know you don't.

- He's also in King of Queens with Kevin James. - You just saw a lot of his-- - I don't know if I was in King of Queens. - Yeah, he plays the same thing. - So, someone just said his name, Bill,

and you went, oh God, I'll pick you like a map. - No, I just-- - Just move it. - That's what I get in the sense. - A picture of Alexander Scharsford.

- Yes, this is the cameo, yeah. - Is the tabloid photograph when it talks about Allegra's cheating boyfriend?

- Incredible interview, I came across where he said he was devastated.

That his actual scenes were cut. The concept of Alexander Schars, who guard being devastated by having a scene cut from hitch, is just so funny, but he was like, not in movies then, he just did true blood.

- Like my friend talked about this in the what lies beneath pod. My friend from high school, Scott Carino, was Michelle Fifters dead husband in her picture. - Oh, really? - We were all excited, it's like Scott got a brain--

- That movie is so scary. - Yeah, it's a good movie. - It's so scary. - And then Ali Larder provided the face and body shots for the fake Starlet, and some Esquire magazine thing they did.

- Oh, that's cool. - That's it. There weren't a lot of castin' one. It's best that guy, Jennifer Donovan. - Yeah, and waiters has to be chipped the bar guy.

- Chipped? - Yeah. - And then she'd go polypat and you'd go polypat and waiters, you can go vans too. - Vans, I feel like his scenes are pretty--

- Vans months and-- - Pretty memorable. - Wait, there was another-- Jola Trulio has a great moment in this movie. It's a speed dating scene from Brooklyn 99,

shows he gets pushed aside. It means instantly by laughing my song. - Recast and couch director, city. So I can offer you Stanley Tucci as Eva Mendez's boss instead of the guy we got.

- So Alan Arkin's son, or something? - Yeah. - Can we walk through a wheel fair on the Kevin James part really quick? - Okay.

Young Wolf, when you look up a 2005 wheel fair,

because I got to visualize this. - It's old schools like two years before Anchorman just happened. He's a huge star.

Just can we talk it out for a second?

- I think it works from a comedy standpoint,

but you know what the only thing about it is?

- He's too big. - He's tall. - He's tall. - It's not believable. - But we'll spend six, three.

- I know, but we'll spend six, five. - If you're taller than him in that scene, it doesn't look like he's a little broling you as well. - If they made the movie now, who would be the Kevin James type?

- Who goes after him? - Do we even have these people? - That's what I'm asking. Is there a guy in Josh Gad? - Maybe Josh Gad, but even Josh Gad got a little.

Josh Gad kind of smooth. I think he is. I don't know. I don't think we have the fully athletic fat guy anymore. I don't think there's been a one.

Every generation hat one, that it was, I look for it at the combat. - Is that right here? - Is that right here? Did it was farly?

- Yeah. - Did it was Kevin James?

- Kevin James, and then even Jack Black got

an air for a little while, like Jack Black would be. - Yeah. - But the funny athletic fat guy that could really move around. - Jack Black could fit in this too.

- Yeah. - I think Seth Rogan now would be a different character,

but it could be really funny, that he's getting coached up

by Will Smith to go after. - Jonah Hill? Jonah Hill? - No. - Seth Rogan it kind of happens a little bit.

There's Charlize Theron movie with him. - That's such a great movie. - I love that movie. - Oh, it's such a great romantic. What's that called again?

- I'm trying to ask Craig if that was a real match. - I love that movie. - I love that movie. - I love that movie. - I love that movie.

- Oh, you love that movie. - All right. - All right. - I have somebody to do with it. - I can't get John and Chris Theron with it either.

- Why not? - I really like that movie. - It's incredible. - Now, I've been to see not fucking with that act. - Yeah.

- Oh, great. - You have a, you have a flex. - I'm gonna play it right down the middle. Big Kahuna Burger, best food, best use of food or drink. The bed of drill through a straw.

Maybe you want to try it, look fun. That just seemed great to me. Him drunk going through the park, sip and bend and drill out of the bottle through a straw. Never seen that before.

That was great. - Bill, Craig, what, Craig wants to be on leave? - No. - Yeah. - That's fun to me.

- How much bend and drill can you sip through a straw before you knock out your mind? - So I get it. - Have a stroke or something. - Also, there's another food and drink moment.

There's a brief scene where Ava Mendez and her best friend are at the place called "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches."

- "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches."

- "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches."

- "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches."

- "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches." - "Rice the Riches." - Yeah, I think he just liked looking. - Eva Mendez was in the music video, my name is.

- Yeah, yep, great segue. I forgot she was in that until-- - I like that song. - It's Christmas, yeah. - Good one, love.

- She was lip syncing B.M. Benito, Miami. She mentioned this to Will Smith and rehearsals,

and Will Smith said he did not remember her.

- Oh, yeah. - Really? - Soundtrack had a bunch of people, including, "Earthburn and Fires in There" temptations. - This is a very important challenge on this song track. - What is it?

- One thing by A-Marine is a brilliant, amazing song

that started kind of like a lore kind of beef that happened because do not go after me, be high. One thing, don't go after me, I'm just telling, so one thing comes out, it is like an amazing record. Like a great record, a rich Harrison,

like an amazing record. Then some people felt like on a song called "Deja Vu"

That Beyonce made a little bit after that

that the sound of one thing was kind of being recreated. - Like the butterfly lines, contrary. - A little bit like, there were some people who felt like that there was a little swag theft from Beyonce who is an all-time, amazing, phenomenal artist,

a great mother.

- Never seen him so great.

- Yeah, he's about to sing. - He's like, he'll make a big mouth.

- He's like, it's stuff for me, what do you have to do?

Before we talk about LeBron on his being, he's a great father, he's a great philanthropist. He's one of the greatest players we've ever seen. It's tall and handsome and all that stuff. But there was a whole thing to wear, it was like,

you know, did they kind of jack a little bit of swag, did they want the record to be a big record, and then that big band sound kind of came in a little bit from Beyonce and it was a whole thing. Emory is thriving now,

but kind of went a wall a little bit after her, biggest record, like after her biggest record. - Do they have an NFL live? If LeBron comes up, do you have to talk about our greatest? Or is that just the other shit?

- I can't remember the last time LeBron came up on the phone. - He's already seen her, he's like LeBron James and then something else goes on the phone. - Dancing guy, LeBron Paris. - I don't know if it's a fan of LeBron of that.

- We're all like, he's unbelievable.

I would never question it.

I mean, it was kind of like that with Bellcherry for a while, where if I ever was like, dang, he like, punted again, and then there was like 50 art lines. I'd be like, I would do this actually. I would totally defend Australia.

I'd be like Bill Bellcherry 'cause we're gotten more about football than all ever now. - Yeah, we'll do whatever, we'll never know. - Bill Bellcherry, but he really shouldn't have punted their man that he lost like 20.

- He can't say after the Seattle Pats that 30 seconds when he doesn't call time out, like when he walked on water, you got his back. - Well, you got his back.

- What you got when they're just thinking about that?

- After Bellchek walked on water, saw the future and saw if Seattle, like he bought five years after that. - Well, Bill is not saying. - Well, Bill is not saying. - We're gonna coach you moment like that in the history of

any sport. - Well, Bill is not telling you is that we have to do that at the ring or not, and we got rich. (laughing) - But we have to do the LeBron thing now at the ring.

- Well, we'll talk about it. - I've been fun at this run, this is the summer of LeBron. - I went to East Pint today, we're taping this, gelade.

And went there today, he was like the first three stories.

- Marcy Cohen. - Can he be the third option or the second? - I'm a preview of the AFC East, as we come on a different, different barbie. Yeah, you could go check it out.

- Out of great division, this year. - It's very two teams, two tiers. - Oh, speaking of the AFC East, this was one more half-ess or a research thing. Albert, as Egon, what he thought of the design

of Jets West Side Stadium. - Oh, interesting. - It was gonna do that. - It presents it as it's like right, gelade. - The four months, when they thought

the Jets were building a stadium on the West Side, where the fuck would that have gone? - I was thinking about that watching the scene - What? - What Hudson Yarns are saying of or where?

- I guess, I'm sure we could look that up. But I was also distracted by the fact that it's like in the montage of him killing it on this date, and he says that it's kind of like a rejoinders to some debug and everyone's like,

"Oh, he got him!" And I did feel that way at all watching it, but it's fine. - I gotta say, they should have a football stadium in New York City, I think it's bullshit. New York City's gigantic.

There's no way they couldn't have found a place to put a 16,000-story coin in Central Park. - Anywhere, Central Park. Okay, ripping through apex mountain, will Smith? - Nice, this is, this is,

it's gotta be late, that is for you. - Yeah, man, black. - Eva Mendez, we're right around it. - Oh, yeah, I was looking at her. - This is the biggest movie, she's ever been in. - Again, she's also acts really well on this movie.

- Yeah, I think this movie is a winner. - It's a performance. - Kevin James, I think yes. - Oh, Chris, yes, he's so cool. - Chris, yes, he's so cool. - I believe he's a cute queen just peeing right now. - TV movies, top 10 movie, and he's the top 10 movie.

- No, he's the top 10 movie. - He's the top 10 movie. - Well, small cop, not like a huge hit, am I trippin' it? - It probably was a hit. - Yeah, but-- - But, it's a TV movie. - Oh, no, no, no. - So everything, it's a good movie.

- Well, I think this probably sets up small cop and all the other stuff. - Small cop was one of the movies people saw my age 'cause they were like, it would be funny if we just went and saw this movie.

Kind of like, more of a sort of minions. - Yeah, sure. - People were like, let's go see a small cop, they were not around. - They were not around doing it for the bit, yeah. - Then a drill, oh, it pecks mountain.

- I don't know if the answer's now, but it's all the parents who realize they can give children's benefit and drove to their kids, so they wouldn't cry in a plane. - That's my work.

- It's not what it does. - That's what I was looking for.

- I was a kid, it weren't for our kids. - It must be nice. - It's given what you know I was giving. - That was good. - But legitimately, it was putting my bottle

to calm me down 'cause I was so hot strong. - Hennessey. - Hennessey, yeah. True story, I like, graduation party. I was like, can I have a look? - You really rarely go.

- I have a little graduation party. Can I have a little hennessey? Like, my uncle David, recipes can be a little hennessey.

I got the hennessey and my grandmother goes,

"Look, I'm wet, I'm saying he still likes it."

(laughing) - Oh my god. - Oh my god. - Oh my god. - He still likes it.

Like, I still like it, like yeah, it's like, you were a high strong little baby. We used to take a little hennessey, like you're just stretching in my mouth. - Well, a little bit, put in the bottle.

See, this is why these were the greatest generations. - What? - Of's, you turned that great. - Well, I don't know about that whiskey on the gun. - You whiskey on the gun.

- Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - We'll hennessey it there. - Getskies, no. - No, I know for Getskies.

- There's gotta be something better with Getskies, right?

Like, some bond movie or something? - Well, can speed to cruise control. - Oh. - The first thing. - He's bound it down.

- He's bound it multiple times. - Yeah, he's bound it down. - I mean, come on. - Yeah, he's bound it down. - Oh, he's bound it down.

- Yeah, he's bound it down. I mean, come on. - I don't know, I don't know, she was in nothing else after this. So yeah. - Men's hair waxing scenes, weirdly 40-year-old virgin is same year.

And has a better hair waxing. - Well, it was the same year.

- Get four of us to come out first, or this movie.

- I don't know, I think they made them both an old boy. - It feels like they wanted that scene to be a big moment. And then they had to change it because of 40-year-old virgin. - It feels like they wanted that to be a set of pieces. - It's kind of, yeah.

It goes fast in this game. - It's a good thing. - Weirdly, why is it even in the movie? - Yeah. - I'm not telling 'em, I'm gonna say no for apex Mountain.

- No, I don't think it's gonna save us probably earlier. (laughing) (laughing) - And not even in movies 'cause it would be the golf father.

- Post 9/11, New York is back movies. - Yeah. - Like, just like, where New York is an actual character, which we should have mentioned the top, but this is a real New York movie.

- It's a great New York movie. - And it was one of the first ones where you felt like, oh yeah, New York. - There's only one to me that I think that is close. - Spider-Man.

Even though Spider-Man comes out pretty soon after. - Yeah. - But like, Spider-Man, it was like a look. Things are still happening.

They actually have to take out, remember that Spider-Man

advertisement, the trailer they had was, he made a web between the Twin Towers. So it's like, next year, that next year, Spider-Man was like, oh my God, it's New York again. She's still happening.

- Cruiser Hanks, it's the most obvious Cruiser in a while. - Yeah. - Cruiser as the Will Smith character. - Yeah. - Basically doing Frank Macky from Magnolia,

as in Hitch, TJ Macky. So TJ Macky, who's Frank Macky? - He's Frank Macky. - Frank, TJ Macky, yeah. - You could argue to Cruiser Hanks.

Could Hanks play Albert Brennamen? - I think he's too Hanks. - Yeah, he's too tall too. - Not sure of me. - So Will and Tom Cruise obviously famously,

famously best friends for a long time, not because they shared the same religion or anything like that. But what if Will calls Tom Cruise and gets Tom Cruise to do two days on set as Vance Munson as Vance Munson?

- Tom Cruise would never get hit by one of those.

- Two days on set as Vance Munson. - I can't believe they've never done a movie together. - They haven't ever, no one. - I don't think so. - It's kind of weird.

- Special category.

How would Van Lathen get out of this one?

- Okay. The one finds out Van has actually been the date doctor or all along. What do you say? - David Mendez, miss.

- I don't know. I look directly at her and I say yes, I am the date doctor. I gotta stay employed. - Number one, you're not paying my bills, I don't worry about it.

That's the first thing. So I gotta say that. - Oh, that, that, that, that doesn't work. - It's not about what the night it works. It's about me standing up for myself.

- Right. - Number two, direct act act, though. Direct act, though, direct act. - Direct act, that's my entire time. - Okay.

- This is who I am, I'm a date doctor. And by the way, what I do is different than what you do, blood sucking Paris. (laughing) Like what I do, because I help people find love.

Look all these pictures, see these pictures? These are weddings, these are children. This is why I put into the world. While at you go home and think about the fact that what you put into the world is negativity

and people's business. - How dare you're gonna judge me? - You're gonna judge me? Who are you to talk to me? - Yeah, that's pretty good.

- Yeah, that's pretty good. I don't think you didn't get out of anything. - You didn't get out of it. You know why? - You can't get out of it.

- You can't get out of it. You can't get out of it. You can't get out of it. You can't get out of it. You can't get out of it.

You can't get out of it. You can't get out of it. You can't get out of it. You can't get out of it. You can't get out of it.

You can't get out of it. You can't get out of it. You can't get out of it. You can't get out of it. You can't get out of it.

You can't get out of it. You can't get out of it. Kevin James still earn a living. I have this in what happens next day. He's broke.

He's blown up, he's his whole thing. Now, this relates to between hitch and even Mendes.

That's not going to work out because you guys are wrong.

Give it to me because I had this as well. This is my famous from the soul thing. He writes a book. I'll give it to you. I'll give it to you.

I'll give it to you. I'll give it to you. I'll give it to you. I'll give it to you. Next on the view, we have Alex Hitchens.

I don't think the secrecy is that fundamental to him is ability to do the job. This is 2005. People don't have everything on each other. He could still work with guys. The only problem is, well, you know what?

If he rehabilitates the date doctor, monitor. And he's like a positive guy, maybe it's not that big of a deal. Does the book makes them rounds, comes out and paper back, podcasts, they're starting to get on my podcast. You know, seven.

He has like the first therapist podcast.

He's making 50 million years, he's got his own, he's got his own own well network.

See, guys, this is, he's got the well network. If you're ever wondering what, what the difference is, this is the difference. I didn't see it, but look, he already, sorry, put a claim in. That's why you're business man. You know that guy to date doctor, you think he wants to do a pot date, the date doctor

pot, it's like the daily, the date doctor pot, it's like five of them, pick a nits. So Albert is this clumsy loser who's not going to over coffee's there with them, but is also a good dancer in athletic. Well, let's pick a side. It's not a good dancer.

Well, he's athletic. He can move. He's the horrible dancer. But he's the point of it. He's done his career.

He's very clumsy. Wait. Were you watching that scene? What do you like? Well, let it happen.

But he's athletic. He can move and get the piece of it. Make it in the piece of it. That's not going to be fair. Don't make it fair.

He's not going to make it fair. He's fair at tunnel. He's he. He's he comes here coordinated. Kevin James is athletic.

Good. James is definitely athletic. He is athletic. He's athletic.

But I think the character of Albert Brennan is not supposed to be coordinated.

I don't even think the way they present the character. I don't even think he can do this. Stay within your self dance. Right. I'm making it seem like this guy's like a fucking disaster.

I don't know.

I could never get a handle in that.

Hitches shirt is torn from his body in the cap by the cap, and he gives it back to him, dry, glaning. I fixed your shirt. Yeah. How do you fix the shirt?

That's a great point. I think I torn it in nine things. What kind of tailor it? Fix the shirt. It's good one.

Um, he's drink at Benado like a DACRA had that one. The big thing for me, electors getting married is a famous person, a lot of interest in her life as we've established this whole thing. And then this gossip called, and that's basically almost ruins her marriage. And then she's like, yeah, I'd better.

With Hitch. Huh. Yeah. Yeah, bring her. What could go wrong?

I think it's over. You know. Now, she's telling Hitch, keep that lady home, fuck her. See, how y'all do. I'd be like, you know, I should grow, my girl will come to the end.

Y'all good. We come into the way. We coming up that's what y'all do. Yeah. Okay.

For us at the New York Standard. To, she's now convinced and understands at that point that Hitch's interference actually

had nothing to do with why she fell in love with Alvarez, shouldn't care?

What would make her, like, even when does this character? Just the fact that they boys and how you suppose to do it is that your girl meeting him as men does. That is complimenting her bag. I have one gigantic, very pit personal picking.

Did you have? Okay. I have one gigantic, very personal picking it. The boss at the gossip column in a different movie. This guy cares about the life, personal life, the workload, the work life balance of

this person. I've been there. Yeah. That guy does it. Give a fuck.

He's like, you haven't come up with anything in two days. Like, hey, you noticed person, go get me the story. Hey, I might break up that marriage. I don't care. Yeah.

Like, we, you're hooked into this story. I don't care if it breaks up with your relationship. I don't care. What it breaks up, go get the story and bring it back. Like him, then being in that type of benevolent guy.

That's it. He'd be in a guy like it. Business guy. No. No sir.

No way, shape. What would you have for nitpicks? Uh, I don't know what anyone else at the newspaper does all day like that the guy had time to just. Big staff.

The her like gay bestie who pretends to be the fuck. What does he do? I don't know.

Yeah, was he like covered in high school sports for them or does this job?

Don't get it at all. Um, I had, well, I was confused about Kevin James and he said, okay, here's one. There's a very, very nitpicking one. So when she said, and she watches during McGuire to get tried to get over, you know, screwing things up with hitch, women don't drink eat, whipped cream out of the bottle.

That's something that men think we don't do and women don't do that. Maybe, I'm sure the, someone in the comments will say they've done it, but I'm telling you, it's not a thing. It's a fake thing. And just the spray and smell.

Yeah.

Never seen what we do that.

Rocky road ice cream with like what's your. Yeah, ice cream. But I would never take a thing of cool whipping. Go. It's funny, but got it did, did this for your teens a few times, but it now would never

Never do it.

Hey, whipped cream out of the, I think it's like you kind of like. It's like a kid thing though. It's something's a very guy pain to do. Yeah.

When you think about it, never mind.

Sequel, prequel prestige, TV, oh, by Castro and touchable. I think we should do a sequel.

I think they should do a hit to, I think they should do a sequel.

What? We'll spend the sequel. Yep. It's he now too old to be getting a position. And again.

It's like he could be, he could have to be brought out of retirement to hit it up. Hit just place right now in this climate will be perfect. Bring hitch. Hitch does the whole thing. The world needs to.

Because we'll spend made a movie since the movie, or since the Oscars, we'll move. Yeah. That boy's through. That boy's through. That boy's came out.

He made a mancipation. A mancipation came out. But that was made before. It just came out. Right.

That was good. I thought. I thought the movie was good. If you like that, huh? Craig.

That's my guy. It's a slap didn't happen. He probably would've got an Oscar num for that movie. Really? I think so.

Well, all I'm saying is, I personally don't think we, we're going to do this every time we do a movie, we're not done to an arrow with me and you. I don't think that he's as in the dirt as you think that he is.

I think he can only play the characters from the past.

But I don't think he can be like a bowl, carry a movie, well, Smith for a while. Well, he went back and forth. So like that was already gone. Like there was, there was enough proof of Will Smith's career. King Richard was actually perfect movie for him at that point because it's a prestige.

Great. I think that the trickier thing than the baggage is just his age. Right. Like a lot of the rules that we're talking about. Somebody at this stage just doesn't really make sense.

Is this movie better with Wayne Jenkins for you, the florist? Zainlow, Robert Evans, Dr. Charles Nichol, Ted Levine, William X or somebody else. It couldn't come up with anybody. Ted Levine, are like it's giving advice to Ted Levine. Hey, I got a lot of notes.

Boyfriend. Maybe the pit, maybe the pit, maybe the pit, where do you keep people down there? Maybe a place, maybe a new place. I don't think what would be like the butterflies. We got to change a lot.

I'm going to charge the dog. Back to me, Hitch too. He gets jammed gum as a client. She's trying to figure it out. Probably an answer for questions.

I did write down.

Will Smith have more sexual attention with Eva Mendez or Captain James?

Yeah. Nick's Grizzlies, March 24, March 24, 2003, for 2004, Grizzlies 111, Nick's 97, Marberid, 23 and 10. How could Saul 23 for the Grizzlies? Look at you.

Yeah. That was right after the Marberid trade, everyone in New York, was like, Nick's your back. And then it couldn't have gone worse. It is a sports event game, whatever, actually a good setting for a first date.

No, it's like a third date. Yeah. So it's a way we've spent a little time together now. I'm trying to impress you. But once you get to that threshold, it's a perfect date.

A lot of stuff happening. People watching a lot of opportunities for conversation. You can eat all of that stuff. I'm going to parse this out.

It's like a baseball, amazing basketball, very context-dependent football, nightmare.

Oh, well, football includes travel. And it's just tense and not people are yelling and standing in every play matter. I can say basketball is great, great, great for dates. Because I went to a lot of Celtic games. My dad never.

Who was getting really cared about now? Well, that was bad Celtic team. So it was like fun to go. And you could learn. You got to feel for people and you could explain what was going on.

And it's positive. I know a guy that would take girls on dates out here too, high school sports. Like Friday night lights. Like a Friday night game. The biggest football game.

Well, he would be like, he'd say, hey, you know, this is young kid that I mentor or whatever. Oh, okay. He's gay. So if like that, then they go watch Pally High Play. Somebody, like, then they sit out there and he'd be like, yeah, I'm like, yeah, oh, what?

He had a whole thing. He played on my lead basketball. And this guy's name was Van Lathen.

That's actually a powerful move because then you're like mentally taken her back to being

in high school. You're on the bleachers. There's a lot of like fair moments. It's also cheap. It's fun.

It's like fun. It's cheap. You look like you care. He's like, yeah, he's like, I take it late to the Celtic game once and she got up at half time and got out of her stuff because she thought the game was over.

I figured that was not a keeper. That was one day. You think that's what she was thinking. She was like, I can't wait to get out of this. She actually didn't confuse.

That's the best time. She was like, I was like, oh, yeah. That's kind of an answer to a question. Yeah. How much do you think Hitch was charging in 2005?

A lot.

What do you think? We talked in like 20 grand, 10 grand, 5 grand. I would say probably 1500. The apartment was really nice. Really nice.

Oh, yeah. Okay. This is going to take a while. Yeah. Yeah, 1500 week. Yeah. Is it like half up front and then if it works, you pay the second half.

Is it all up front?

I think you go into it saying, I have no guarantee.

There's no guarantee that it goes where you want it to go. I can only give you the best opportunity. But how did he find customers? Where are they? We're referrals.

They're saying the move. I know, but like, really? Like, what guy is going to be really excited to tell other guys that they've found? Right. That guy should absolutely tell other guys.

I want to say apparently y'all. Y'all don't want us to get in the middle of y'all for his relationships at all kinds of stuff. Like that. Apparently y'all. I would love, if I had a friend who was like, I'm lucky and love and obsessed with

women who are out of her, they're his league. I would love to be able to not listen to them and say, hey, just call this guy.

And my idea for a romcom is centered around my wife who always thinks she can set

people up. She's like, oh, for 99, and the name of the movie would be the 100th set up. And it would be like, if I get to 100, I'll stop doing this, but the 100th one is the one. No, actually.

Yeah. I just sold a Netflix. I'll just set up. Actually, yeah. And in the process.

She falls off herself. Oh, interesting. Or, no. Yeah, I take it off. The 100th.

It's not like I do. Well, I do. Well, I do. Yeah, I do. Yeah.

The 100th set up. The guy falls in love with her because she's single.

And she's always trying to set people up and failing, and they've so it's not a wife.

Or she's a divorced. No, the lead has to be a single woman.

I think there's another way you could go.

Like, another way you go is, so your character tells her, because like you start the movie with a terrible date that's happened at your house between two people. Your character tells her, hey, you can't set nobody else up, because this is ruining my life. Then you fake, you tell your buddy, hey, you, hey, she's going to set you up, but you're

telling him you can't be in love with the woman. Don't be in love with the woman. Don't be in love with the woman. No. I just do that.

I need you to go do this, and then that girl finds out an hour into the movie. Yeah. You made a bet that you wouldn't find a man, right? Yeah, right. And then you and your wife get into it, it's like, hey, I want this to stop, but these two

creatures and the fallen. It's pretty good about a movie. I'm just going when we were talking earlier about like interfering where a husband and a wife have two friends who aren't the wife trying to set up.

Maybe like she is a friend who's just never lucky in love, trying to set her up with your

male friend, and you're trying to stop it at the same time. So you're actually going against each other and you don't know. It's like Brad Wars a little bit. A little bit like Brad Wars. I got this thing Craig.

Don't say that anyone up. That's my advice. You're pretty early in this marriage thing. There's no upside. Yeah.

That's just case scenario is they end up together and maybe you're glad to dinner with them a couple times. We're just case scenario is like 19 things. Yeah. We had a bad set of situation.

One of my friends set up another one of my friends they did it for a year. Didn't work out. Nobody really liked their relationship and ended and they were like, okay, never again. I got one last one. It's about a black dude in LA, you meet him, right?

And you decide you want to set him up and you're talking to him and he's like, I really, I escaped this really terrible place to where nothing goes right for black people and you say, where is this place? And he goes, it's called Boston. And then to change those and then like go for that.

So make it reparations.

You have to find him and why they're going to make it jail or something.

They're going to call Bill Russell story. I thought I was going to end with him moving to Philadelphia. I was waiting for that. Memorize. Memorize.

I was very interested in the scuba suits personally. So I really liked he had this thing behind him at one point. The Will Smith character dynamic dating diagram. And it was like the sizing that die hard poster. And I thought that'd be a good artifact for the scuba weird.

It's a story. It's a story. You could never have that out. It's a story. It's a story.

I just wanted to have that over there. Um, I always, I want because at this time, this was one of the, when we saw this movie in theaters, the fact that Will could control his whole apartment from the world. That was a big deal in the mid 2000s where you could do that. You could play the man like the whole deal.

I know you'd want. It's the walkie talkies. Yeah. Oh, walkie talkies. Yeah.

That's that's the one.

Coach Fenstack, Mr. Brager, we're best for his life lesson.

Life is not the amount of breath you take.

It's the moment to take your breath away. No. So many lines. Wake up every day like it's on purpose. Sure.

You don't need gimmicks. True love doesn't need gimmicks. Yeah. Be my life lesson. That's double feature trace.

I have focus. Yeah. Come on. Obviously. Six reasons.

Separation. Which I watched after I watched this, just because Will is so charming. You know, I love that movie. And he's so charming in that. What I once seen after they get into Tuxedo's and they're riding through the

thing. Yeah. That blue Colleen. Cause hair back a little bit. When Will just shut up offers it.

I love that movie. I have nobody to do that. I'm rewatchable. But. Like kids in that movie.

The kids in that movie. That it's. I don't like me. The kids in that movie. That it's.

That movie is really good. It's on my other grandma. No. I'm talking about the parents. Oh, oh.

Yeah. Oh, oh. Yeah. That's what my mom left you. When we just did the double feature, crazy stupid love.

No. No problem. Yeah. Those parents together. All right.

I hesitate to ask who won the movie. Oh, Jesus Christ. It's one of the. Yeah. Who won Terminator 2.

It's like, well, yeah, yeah. It's Will. It's Will. No. Kevin.

Kevin. Kevin. Kevin. Kevin James comes close. It's still Will.

Yeah. It's still Will Smith. But you. Your category. Is.

Why? I think Will Smith does win the movie. But I think Kevin James is very close. I agree. And it will Smith wins the movie.

But it's not overthink. He does. But Kevin James is an awesome. But Kevin James did make me really think about this. Mm-hmm.

And if you're talking about the concept of winning the movie, Will Smith was already winning with every movie he did. At the time. Yeah. Kevin James really needed a movie like that. Yes.

This is like his. To a set. Right. What you think about that category? Because it happens.

Like you almost come somebody almost comes and steal somebody else's movie. It doesn't. Sometimes it just outright steal the movie.

But then in this case and in true lines, I think Arnold still wins.

I think Will Smith still wins. But like razor thin almost. All right, Craig. Let's hear your review. You called for this movie.

So we know we're going to think. Yeah. This is a millennial classic.

It's just like on my Mount Rushmore of like the millennial movies I've seen a million times that we haven't done yet.

Uh, I mean, you guys. Yeah. I think Kevin James will Smith. Two of the better physical comedy actors. And that's why that dance scene.

So good. It's just like two people truly at the peak of their game. Even just the way Will Smith bounce back and forth. It's like so smooth and Kevin James doing his thing. It's so good.

Uh, I think they went four for four in the casting. Like it's just. They really did. Yeah. It's just really good across the board.

We already talked about this. But also, I think Will Smith said vice in this movie is good. Like what mean it was saying? I think that 90 10 is good. I think the dance stuff like he makes a lot of good points.

I think stay here when you're dancing is good. He says like listen to him. It's impossible not watch. I've seen in. He's a hundred.

That's the best device in the movie. You're a man. I'm dancing. If you're a woman. I was watching a singing like, yeah, I might actually do this.

It is. It is so smart. Just do that.

Do you know what John Peyton talking about Josh Allen?

Speaking of John Peyton. The pocket he's going to throw interceptions. Kevin James played John Peyton. Do you remember that? In the Sean Peyton movie, right?

And I remember he was like that. Right. This is not a fever dream. He did. Sean Peyton movie.

Do they made a Sean Peyton movie about. It's like New Orleans like the. Oh, the train. Yeah. It's called.

It's called. It's called. It's called home team. Home team. Kevin James.

It's like one of those things. What about Adam's and produced it? Was it about when Kevin? When he got suspended. I had to coach.

Oh, yeah. Sorry. That's what. Yes. Yes.

I couldn't bring myself to watch. It really happened. I couldn't bring myself to watch. Kevin James could have been a bigger comedy star. And I don't really know why he wasn't.

I don't think his choices. I think the. The podcast. He made a lot of work. He had a hard day.

But like, 2010, I don't know why he wasn't. He's my stuff since then. Like, you know, he could have been in all those great movies. I mean, look, he's one of those guys that they spun them. And for some reason, it didn't happen.

He spent a lot of guys in the guy's day around. But for some reason, they spun him. And he had sex. He's a successful comedian actor without a doubt. When you want to show like that, you make so much money.

Like King Queens, he's loaded. Do you think. Zoomers just think he's the meme. Yeah. Of course.

Like do you think they have any awareness that he's more than that? I think he can make the kids Paul Blart ruined his career. Well, because I think it's like, well, that's Paul Blart. That's the Fat Malcott. And then since 2009, it was like, well, now everybody just thinks he's Paul Blart.

I don't know the grownups universe helped him a lot. Those movies are pretty huge. Successful. I don't know. I think Paul Blart was around 25.

Like those are like giant movies with my kids generation. Yeah.

Like he never, like if he was in the apato, you know, like if he had done better written movies,

he probably would have more long to have it.

Yeah.

This movie's just something common.

With Crazy Super Love. Is that these movies make the cities that they are in. Yeah. Look like cities you want to follow. Like he could have been Steve Carell and Crazy Super Love.

Yeah, he could have. Like beautiful. Looking movies with beautiful people and all that stuff. He could have been Gosling and Lala land. Do you really think about that?

Yeah. What's happened? Now he could have been. No. He could even will Smith in advance.

I think he made all the choices he made for a reason.

Yeah. He just died for like almost like what Jack Wack is doing now with like he's just doing specific type of movies and make a money. He got jacked for MMA movie. Like look.

Did it make that? Yeah. Really? He got jacked for a season of King of Queens as well. Did he?

Yeah. He got fit. His character gets full. What was the movie you said you were going to come back for? At some point.

You got excited about it. Well, I'm honestly a little bit game night. Oh, no. No. That's a broken shirt.

Oh, love that movie. People complain if we do that though.

Because I feel like nobody's had people seeing that movie long shot.

But that's why we haven't done it yet. People show us the watch. It's so good. He needs like 10 years to marinade with the boy. Well, it's been 10 year.

Where did that come out? Pre-pote pre-pote. That's 2019 is pre-pinned up. Freaking love that movie. It's also like sharpies.

I've rewatched in several times. Yeah. She's great in that movie. There's good side characters. Then I met.

She's starting to become underappreciated. Try to sound. Mm-hmm. Not after the go in my house. Not after the Odyssey.

Oh, I haven't seen the show. Oh. She plays Colipso. I haven't seen the show. It's very good casting.

Is she naked? It's the only takeaway I have from your voice. It's a funny posture right now. No nudity in the movie. She's just a god on that island.

We have to make another god want to stay for...

If you enjoy the Odyssey, I thought it was amazing.

Yeah, a lot of us were everyone seeing it. It's a lot of people who haven't seen it. It's pretty great. It's a pretty great movie. All right.

Thanks for doing Hitch. I forget you suggested that the two of you. But it was one of you. Maybe it was Craig. Yeah, we talked about focus on the last episode.

Not Hitch. All right. You can see me in the comments. Good luck. month before football kicks in. I'll see you're going to be coming on your podcast. Bill is doing powering.

I'm going to be on the podcast. I told her she couldn't have you on because you're on 19 pods. It's exciting. Now you can go on. You got to get our second podcast. People were surprised. I only did last

pod that we already knew each other in a pleasant way, I think. Why? I don't know, but it was reaction. I saw

it was like when people see like a picture of like a duck in an elephant as friends or something. You're like, that's it. Don't look at them. I'm coming on tailgate next month too. It's UCLA football time. We're making it real rare. I don't know. I don't know if I'm ready. I really can't do it. I went to UCLA. It was rough last year. No, they have my coach now. Chesney. My guy. I got, I tell you something real quick. Quick take.

Cows football better to be ready. UCLA is serious. They are not fucking around. It's still the quarterback. What's his name? It doesn't matter. Oh, he was bad. Don't bet against Bob Chesney. But I think I think they're making. They're going to tell it often. I don't even remember whatever you are. Just from being there and walking through them. They're like dumpouts here. This is for you. I'm moving from the Louisiana way. See how you

see how you dump Louisiana for LA? Now you're going to dumpouts here for UCLA. Like you know,

this is it never happened. I've never been as interested in how college football season was going to play

out to New UCLA season this year. That's I'm serious. There we go. All right, thanks. Thanks, Craig. Thanks, Keha. Thanks, everybody else. We'll see you next week.
