Hello and welcome to the Sleepy Picture, where we put down our worries from t...

up a good book.

In our last episode, we read the final chapters of a room with a view.

In case you nodded off before we finished, this is a recap of the last episode, but

be warned, this is your spoiler alert. If you haven't listened to the whole book and you don't want to know how it ends yet, then stop this episode now. For the rest of you, I will continue. After meeting with Mr. Emerson in the rectory, Lucy had tried to conceal breaking off her engagement

to sass on, once Mr. Emerson had admitted that he knew about George's love for her.

But he quickly saw through her attempts to deny her true feelings.

Mr. Emerson warned her against living in a muddle, and insisted that she loved George and always had. Though Lucy initially resisted him, his passionate plea for honesty and happiness forced her to confront the truth. At last, she admitted to herself that she did love George, and had been deceiving both

herself, and those around her.

Mr. Emerson encouraged her to choose truth over fear.

Even if it meant disappointing her family, and facing criticism from others. Lucy and George were married and returned to Florence, staying once again at the pension bettered lenie in the room with the view. Although Lucy's family had not yet forgiven the way events had unfolded, she and George had found unimaginable happiness together, and reflected on the many people and coincidences

that had brought them to this point. Looking back, they realised that even Charlotte Bartlett, who had seemed to oppose their relationship with every turn, may secretly have hoped they would end up together. As they sat overlooking the view, they recognised that love had triumphed over convention, misunderstanding, and fear.

Their journey ended where it had begun, in Florence, with the promise of a future built on honesty, affection, and mutual understanding.
