Good evening and welcome to the Sleepy Bookshelf.

This season, which is exclusively for our premium listeners, we will be reading a selection

from the Celestial Omnibus and other stories by E.M. Forster.

We know our listeners are as unique as our novels and lucky for you. Our bookshelf is

varied with lots of different types of stories to allow you into a deep sleep.

The following is a summary to give you an idea of what to expect from this season.

First published in 1911, the Celestial Omnibus and other stories is one of two collections

of short stories by E.M. Forster.

Less known for his novels are room with a view and how it's end. Forster was a prolific writer in Edwardian Britain and was nominated for the Nobel Prize in literature on 22 separate occasions.

We will be reading all about one of the Thoughtful Short Stories comprised in this selection.

All of the stories are equally fantastic and imaginative showcasing Forster's ability as a writer and reflecting the pre-war middle-class sentiments of England at the time. He blends the supernatural and natural together quite seamlessly in a delightful, witty and deeply human way. We hope you will join us for this season. However, if you decide that the Celestial Omnibus

and other short stories aren't your cup of tea, feel free to explore the rest of the bookshelf, we are sure you will find something to help guide you into a rest for sleep.
