on the "I Heart Radio" app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. - Hi, everyone, I'm Carrie Hartman, one of the producers of "Bird and of Gilt." Thank you so much for listening,

for writing to us, for your feedback, and for caring about domain and Bobby's story. As these episodes are released, we've been wondering what it's been like for them to relive all of this.

So we reached out after the latest episode.

First, I had a conversation with Bobby and then Dreamy,

but we'll start with Bobby Gumpwright. - I wanna talk to you a little bit about episode three. So this episode is called the front gate. A lot happens, including an analysis of the court testimony and that was when you were 19 years old.

What has it been like to hear that episode and hear that analysis? And how did that strike you? - It was interesting to hear the entire transcript, the way that it was replayed in the podcast.

Some of the details I had actually forgotten myself, just because it was so long ago, and with years of drug abuse, you tend to not have the best memory. So there were parts that did,

didn't get me quite emotional listening to it, but I don't think that anything was misportrared or incorrect in any of the observations. - What was the most surprising part

that you hadn't were called till you heard it in the show?

- The fact that a drawer had said that I had come over and thank them after they had come back with the verdict. - You're talking about Germaine's trial after the jury found Germaine guilty.

- Yeah, I don't remember doing that, but it seems like at that time, that would have been in my character and my thought process to say something like that. - Not being your very direct and open person.

You said that this episode brought you to tears. Why? I've spent a lot of self-reflection and time examining my actions. So I've gone through a lot of the emotional states through that. But when you hear it in a format like this,

it puts a whole another level on it, I think. And it just made me very emotional. It reminded me of what I was

and what I never want to return to.

I think a lot of the times, if I start to get emotional, talking about the way that I was or the things that I had done, a lot of the times people see it as sorrow. And it is to appoint, but a lot of the times

That's joyful to years that I'm no longer that person.

- Episode three was also a tough listen for Germaine.

There were so many details about his own case

that he was hearing for the first time. So here's my call with Germaine Hudson. - I want to talk to you about the front gate, episode three. One of the things that happens in that episode is Bobby explains exactly how he came up

with the lie that he told. And how he worked it all out. What was it like for you to hear him explain that? To be honest, it was painful. I wasn't aware of all the lie that he told to his family.

I wasn't aware that he'd been a problem since he was eight years old.

I never knew a lot of the things

that he expressed, a lot of the things that he reviewed. It really brought to you some of my, because for a person to go to that extent, you know, to cover up the things that he's doing, the things that he's done with

and the drama that comes behind it,

you're bumming along a few problems in your life.

You've made me a part of you drug happy. You know, I never thought, I never thought no human being would sit down and create a theory. So vision to hear how he broke down

everything from the beginning to the end and became the ends and outs of how he was going to do it. And it really is, it's bummed me.

I was like, wow, wow, you are always under the impression

that it was a mistaken identity, right? Not something that he made up. I really did, I was just really felt like it was a mistaken identity because, you know, they looked kind of on us, that's the same. And I really just felt that my heart is a mistaken identity.

This wasn't a mistaken identity after all. This wasn't guy that really was the experiment. So hard, his drug abuse from his family. You didn't want to be exposed and you didn't want to be looked at as a fairy.

You didn't want to be looked at as a drug hit. So what you did was you tried to take all of that and you tried to hide it by doing what you did. But then you destroyed another family behind your last. Everything got revealed to me in burden of guilt.
